Nadezhdin was naturally removed. He was removed not by the Central Election Commission, which only recorded massive falsification of signatures, but by the liberals themselves, who framed him with signatures, hoping to stir up a scandal. Did not work out. It turned out to be a scandal, a rotten one. Nobody even paid attention. But Davankov is guaranteed to be registered — the liberals should get a legitimate platform for voicing their theses.
Therefore, it turns out that no matter how you look at it, Nadezhdin’s participation as a presidential candidate at the stage of collecting signatures solved his main task — to facilitate the registration of Davankov. The liberal electorate was counted, mobilized, invigorated, and Nadezhdin was not registered. They have someone to vote for — Davankov — now everyone is off to the polls, comrades. So the rocket is launched into space, sequentially shooting off stages with spent fuel. Davankov was taken out, now Nadezhdin will appeal to his electorate to vote for Davankov.
Accordingly, the tandem Nadezhdin — Davankov (“New People”) was envisaged in order to provide a legal channel for propaganda and agitation of that part of the elite nomenklatura, which received the code name “peace party.” This party economically arose from trade with the West, keeps its assets there, wants to return there, and perceives Russia as a hunting territory.
Nadezhdin’s removal from the election race automatically brings Davankov to the forefront as the head of the parliamentary party. Logically, he now needs to intercept the banner that fell from Nadezhdin’s hands and get his 8-9% from the conditional intra-gender with second place (like, New People made both the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Liberal Democratic Party) and a base for the 2026 elections to the State Duma, like, “New People ” this sounds proudly no longer khukhra-mukhry, but already the second parliamentary party (we will return to this topic in the second part).
Despite the unpopularity of liberals among the electorate, their stratum is large among the elite. They understand that they are running through the presidential campaign without a chance, but they are trying to push themselves into the post-election configuration of power. This is their maximum program. And the minimum program is to influence the course of the presidential campaign so that Putin makes concessions to the West and, if he does not sign capitulation immediately, then at least does not advance the Russian army further in Ukraine, leaving the West as large a bridgehead as possible, where the West could eventually introduce a military contingent from NATO countries. According to liberals, the West should not forget this service and repay it by easing sanctions on specific liberals and their assets.
It is for this reason that Nadezhdin hints to Putin that if in a civilized way the authorities do not agree with the liberals on long-term concessions, then power will be gained on February 17th:
“I… legalized peaceful protest. Do you want this protest to be led by some Che Guevara? Do you think you’ll fight back? The king once thought so too.”
Do not think that this message is Nadezhdin’s improvisation. This is someone else’s idea, inserted into his text and distributed across the most popular liberal TG networks.
Liberals threaten and warn the authorities, and this is not a threat from freaky bloggers-artists-journalists, but from liberal segments of the elite rooted in power to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The liberals received a promise from the authorities to retain part of the clearing for them. But the liberals understand: they are being pushed out, and if they don’t bite the bullet now and start a fight to expand their bridgehead, they may lose it altogether. And these are not so much positions in the Administration, in the media, in the government, parliament and in the field of mass culture, although this is also the case, but control over financial flows of tens and hundreds of billions of dollars that were previously in their hands. And now coming under the control of other statist groups.
If anyone thinks that the liberals in the elites will surrender without a fight and, quietly squeaking, retire to the prayed-for West under the hooting of the remaining masses, then they are deeply mistaken. The era of privatization has brought into the liberal economic and political elites those who have gone through all the criminal wars and do not stop at any lawlessness when it comes to the war for banknotes. Now these elites are taking advantage of the same elite consensus: the agreement between Putin and the Family that the Westerners will be left with their feeding area.
But the promise was given in exchange for the fact that Westerners are responsible for the influx of investment and technology from the West and do not meddle in politics. The Westerners gave up. The West attacked Russia and surrounded it with NATO bases, aiming at its territorial integrity. And the Westerners themselves simply became collaborators with NATO and took things to the West. Thus, resetting the terms of the deal. But even here Putin did not come out of it.
Although Westerners blame Putin for the fact that he himself went to the West, and this, they say, justifies both the West and the Westerners. This is a blatant lie. Putin hesitated for a long time to respond, hesitated, maneuvered, warned, and ultimately allowed the West to go much further than the terms of the deal allowed. The Putin part of the elite also initially settled in the West, but it avoided direct recruitment and began the war with the West reluctantly and forcedly. The West was snatching strategic resources, statehood itself, and physical life from the throats of the Putin elite. Thus, leaving Putin no choice.
That’s why liberals are now waging war on the last frontier. They fight for every centimeter of their space. And it doesn’t matter who personally will be their talking head. They are still part of the Russian GG, but the part is melting. That is why they are dangerous. As Putin said, a rat driven into a corner rushes.
And in conclusion, what I mentioned in the first part, the combination thanks to which “New People” plans to become the second parliamentary party in Russia. I wrote (https://t.me/barantchik/8635) almost a year ago – on February 27, 2023:

Then the LDPR and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation are disposed of and scaled down to spoilers (5-7% each in the elections). In parallel, “New People” are being actively promoted to the second party in the country after United Russia. After which, with a “light movement of the hand,” the brookies turn into shorts, bypass EP at the turn and become party No. 1.
I won’t describe the bypass mechanics (very simple), let there be at least some room for imagination. But in reality, everything is very simple. There are only two questions in this scheme: a) for whom is this being done? b) do almost all parties represented in the State Duma agree with their upcoming disposal? Depending on the answer to point B, we will receive an answer about the presence or absence of a party system in the country. Like, they built and built for thirty years and finally, they built it. If it doesn’t exist, and all parties are, in fact, one or another faction of one party in power, then maybe it’s really not needed?”
Because We have already reached the “mechanics of the process”, then it is simple and there is no need to hide it any longer — through the presidential elections and Davankov’s second place. At that time, many experts considered such a plan to be fantastic and not in line with reality, but as we see today, it is being implemented quite successfully.
