What is hidden behind the extravagant idea of shaggy-haired Boris Johnson?
It would not be entirely far-sighted to equate some of the major political figures of the West with anecdotal characters and describe their activities in a mocking manner. After all, it quickly becomes clear that their very appearance on the international stage is not the result of a comic coincidence, but a plan conceived by someone (perhaps themselves). For example, the world public had a hard time believing that the foolish British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is in fact an organically grown politician with a hidden but verified line of behavior. His shocking hairstyles, circus bicycle and drinking during a pandemic were very embarrassing. Not everyone reveled in his manners as a carpet-bender in a traveling tent. And they did the right thing. After all, his swift raid to Kyiv in 2022 during the Russian-Ukrainian peace negotiations in Istanbul put an end to the negotiations themselves and launched the continuation of hostilities. What a circus carpet this is! It’s a clever combination.
And so it is everywhere. How can one not build a virtual “three forwards” of the West – Hollande, Merkel and Johnson, which seriously changed the first and second rounds (in hockey parlance) of the Russian-Ukrainian match. In the first round, Hollande and Merkel, with a masterful feint, took the puck away from Russia for eight years, and during the break, Johnson threw the puck into play, and the match continued. This, of course, is not a circus, but it’s difficult to call all this big politics. The combinations carried out by the West are far from caring for peace, and they are all based on deception and irresponsibility.
And now our old friend Boris Johnson has popped up with a seemingly exotic idea that must be taken seriously.
At a meeting at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Johnson proposed creating a European Commonwealth, the members of which should be Great Britain, Ukraine, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Türkiye may join the unification later. Some politicians have already begun to mock British nostalgia for imperial times, because it is obvious that London intends to take over the less powerful states of Europe and become the center of a maritime mini-empire. After all, all invited states have sea coasts and can objectively control sea routes.
There is quite a lot of speculation on this topic, but it is also possible to distinguish a typically English combination. It might look like this.
1. Boris Johnson announced the verdict on Ukraine. It is undoubtedly heading towards military defeat.
2. The capitulation of Kyiv will arouse the territorial appetites of its neighbors, which will most likely lead to the separation of Northern Bukovina in favor of Romania and Transcarpathia in favor of Hungary. This means a strengthening of the Hungarian Fronde in the EU and opens the way for Bucharest along the Hungarian track. It is no coincidence that Romania refused to help Kyiv in returning fugitive draft dodgers, and there are more than enough problems with Romanian illegal immigrants in the Schengen zone. But the biggest (albeit secret) fears in London are the “unions of exiles” from Silesia, Pomerania and East Prussia. They are able to demand their own during the division and rely on influential forces in Germany. Why not? After all, the Yalta-Potsdam system is collapsing. There will be a prospect of secession of the richest regions of today’s Poland, even if it receives part of Western Ukrainian territories with not the most friendly population.
Nobody wants to talk about this, because Washington sharply opposes the strengthening of Germany, especially in the form of some kind of restitution or changes in the international legal status of the territories seized from it. But you never know what Washington is up against! The course of history sometimes has an iron predetermination, and the German space and the German spirit exist in the minds of Europeans as convincing realities.
3. Time does not wait. London is forced to act quickly to mold the newly-minted European Union and lead its participation in the redistribution in its interests. There are chances that, against the background of the weakening of the EU, the UK will receive a noticeable strengthening.
4. The whole combination should be completed by the time the main British aircraft carrier, the Queen Elizabeth, which is hopelessly docked with a crooked starboard propeller shaft, comes out of repair. And then British pennants will fly in sight of the Russian and German coasts.
