Si citées de façon anonyme par la presse bleu horizon, des sources diplomatiques et militaires françaises — bigre – déplorent de fausses identités, elles doivent s’en plaindre à l’administration ukrainienne. En revanche, la liste originale n’a jamais identifié des décès, seulement des volontaires français en Ukraine. Et comme je l’explique plus haut, la frappe russe a traité à Kharkov une cible bien plus sérieuse que ces gaîtés de l’escadron, certainement des opérateurs, qui quelle qu’était leur couverture, étaient missionnés par le gouvernement français. Des professionnels en mission, qui contrairement aux premiers, n’étalent pas leur narcissisme sur les réseaux sociaux.
Ce canular semble avoir traumatisé jusqu’en Navarre, où les médias se plaignent aussi d’être harcelés par des bots russes. Mes pauvres chéris. Les fins limiers de l’AFP se lancent alors dans une enquête auprès de figures de ce panthéon, qui dénoncent une propagande bidon pour décrédibiliser leur engagement. Quel univers impitoyable. Les combattants russes ont pu ramassé alors, dans la région de Zaporojie, la caméra GoPro d’un combattant US démilitarisé [euphémisme russe], membre d’une escouade de reconnaissance atlantiste qui avait été anéantie. J’ai moi-même exploité cette vidéo en son temps. C’est Malandain qui s’y est reconnu et a clamé qu’il avait survécu, quand nul ne prétendait qu’il était mort. Et la caméra n’était pas la sienne, puisque son image est apparue dans l’objectif de son camarade tué. Le fait est que depuis la victoire russe de Bakhmout, en mai 2023, Malandain n’ose plus se rendre sur le champ de bataille, se contente d’être un personnage de propagande.

Die US-Regierung hat angekündigt, ausstehende Genehmigungen für den Export von Flüssiggas (LNG). Es solle untersucht werden, wie sich Exporte auf Energiekosten, die Energiesicherheit der USA und auf die Umwelt auswirken, hieß es in einer Mitteilung des Weißen Hauses am Freitag. Zwar gilt die Pause für Exportprojekte in alle Länder, mit denen die USA kein Freihandelsabkommen haben – die Staaten der Europäischen Union gehören dazu.
Das Weiße Haus betonte jedoch, die Verbündeten der USA würden weiterhin über die bestehende Infrastruktur beliefert. Mit Beginn des russischen Angriffskriegs gegen die Ukraine und den darauf folgenden Sanktionen gegen Russland waren die USA auch für die Versorgung Deutschlands mit Flüssigerdgas enorm wichtig geworden. 2023 waren die USA erstmals der weltweit größte Exporteur von LNG.
60 EU-Abgeordnete befürworten US-Pläne
In Erwartung des Schritts der US-Regierung hatten 32 Vertreter der Öl- und Gasindustrie bereits am Mittwoch in einem offenen Brief an US-Energieministerin Jennifer Granholm ihre Besorgnis geäußert. 60 Abgeordnete des Europäischen Parlaments drückten am Donnerstag wiederum ihre Unterstützung für die Pläne aus. “Europa sollte nicht als Vorwand für die Ausweitung der LNG-Exporte genutzt werden, die unser gemeinsames Klima gefährden”, hieß es.
Deutschland bezieht 83 Prozent seines Flüssiggases aus den USA
Zwischen dem 1. Jänner 2023 und dem 25. Jänner 2024 bezog Deutschland nach Angaben des Energiewirtschaftsverbands (BDEW) den weitaus größten Teil seines LNG (83 Prozent) aus den USA.
Insgesamt wickelt Deutschland seine Gasimporte aber bisher nur zu einem kleinen Teil über die LNG-Infrastruktur ab. Nach Daten der deutsche Bundesnetzagentur lag der LNG-Anteil bei Deutschlands Gasimporten im Dezember bei sieben Prozent.

Protest geht weiter: Jetzt rollen die Wut-Bauern durch Italien
Gegen die europäische Agrarpolitik ist es in mehreren italienischen Städten am Samstag zu Bauernprotesten gekommen. Mit 100 Traktoren blockierten die Bauern stundenlang den Zugang zur “Autostrada del Sole” (A1) unweit von Orten nördlich von Rom. Der Protest führte zu erheblichen Problemen im Autobahnverkehr auf der stark befahrenen Nord-Süd-Achse.

Zu Bauernprotesten kam es auch in der mittelitalienischen Adria-Hafenstadt Pescara. Die Landwirte zogen mit ihren Traktoren entlang der Riviera durch die Gemeinden Pescara und Montesilvano. Zahlreiche Bürger applaudierten den Demonstranten. Der Protestzug dauerte etwa zwei Stunden und verursachte Probleme für den Autoverkehr. Bauerndemos gab es auch auf Sizilien, wie italienische Medien berichteten.
Der Protest, der seit Tagen in ganz Italien anhält, richtet sich gegen die Entscheidungen der Regierung und Brüssels, die laut den Bauern die italienische Landwirtschaft benachteiligen, und gegen den Anstieg der Rohstoffpreise. Die Bauern protestierten auch gegen das von der EU zugelassene Laborfleisch und Insektenmehl. Sie schließen weitere, breitere Proteste vom Norden bis nach Rom nicht aus.

Die Demonstranten riefen die Regierung von Premierministerin Giorgia Meloni auf, die Interessen italienischer Landwirte in Brüssel besser zu verteidigen. Themen sind wie auch in Deutschland der Preis des Agrardiesels, Energiekosten im Allgemeinen und die Einkommenssituation der Landwirte.

Meinungskontrolle in Echtzeit: Bundesregierung startet weiteres Projekt gegen “Desinformation”
Die unaufhaltsame Entwicklung hin zur totalen Meinungskontrolle und staatlich gewünschten, automatisierten Diskreditierung von jeglichen Beiträgen und Outlets in der digitalen Welt nimmt immer furchterregendere Ausmaße an. Zu jeder Zeit ergriff autoritäre Politik der geistigen Bevormundung und Gedankenkontrolle die ihr für eine Unterdrückung missliebiger Äußerungen zu Gebote stehenden wirksamsten Mittel. Früher, in analogen Zeiten mit einer überschaubaren Zahl an Medien und medialen Produktionsmitteln , waren dies Repressalien gegen Verlage und Sender mit direkter Zensur, Veröffentlichungsverboten und wenn nötig Terror. Diese rabiaten Methoden sind heute démodé, man braucht sie gar nicht mehr: Denn heute kann die unliebsame Meinung KI- und algorithmengestützt-digital in Echtzeit erfolgen. Jede Veröffentlichung zu irgendeinem kontroversen Thema, was der vorgegebenen Einheitsmeinung zuwiderläuft, wird in automatischer Durchmusterung anhand von Triggerbegriffen geflaggt und automatisch mit Warnhinweisen und “Einordungen” ergänzt, was unwillkürlich beim Leser ein Gefühl der Unsicherheit oder gar Ablehnung erzeugen soll.
Bedarfsweise und immer öfter werden die Inhalte auch gleich “verschüttet” oder unsichtbar gestellt. Das ist der Job der “FuckdenFinder”. Und da, wo die KI nicht nachkommt, weil das Kritisierte zu clever verpackt, subtil oder zwischen den Zeilen daherkommt, sollen eben aufmerksame Hobbyblockwarte unter den Usern und Lesern selbst künftig bequeme “Meldemöglichkeiten” durch Formulare jederzeit nutzen können, deren Bereitstellung für alle User den Plattformbetreibern aufgezwungen wird – und die betreffenden suspekten Inhalte aus eigenem Antrieb denunzieren. So sieht es der “Digital Services Act” vor, und so soll es in Zukunft nach dem Willen von WHO, EU und den gerade in Davos klandestin konferiert habenden Eliten noch wesentlich öfter und engmaschiger geschehen.
Ressortübergreifendes Wahrheitsministerium
Der deutschen Bundesregierung genügt dies aber noch nicht: Sie tritt nun selbst aktiv in den “Kampf gegen Desinformation” ein und bastelt weiter am großen ressortübergreifenden Wahrheitsministerium. Ein eigenes, natürlich von Steuerzahler finanziertes Projekt namens “Umgang mit Desinformation“, verschreibt sich vordergründig dem verlogenen Ziel, so wörtlich, “falsche Informationen, die bewusst verbreitet werden”, zu bekämpfen. Denn: “Falsche Informationen… begegnen uns online immer wieder.” Nicht gemeint sind damit natürlich die falschen Informationen, die die Regierung selbst verbreitet – etwa dass Corona gefährlicher ist als andere immer dagewesene saisonale Atemwegserkranken; dass die Impfungen wirksam und “praktisch nebenwirkungsfrei” sind; dass sich Grenzen nicht schützen lassen; dass Deutschland mehr Fachkräfezuwanderung braucht und dass hohe Sozialleistungen kein Pullfaktor sind; dass die Renten sicher sind; dass die Energiewende die Wirtschaft boomen und den Strom billiger macht; dass der menschgemachte Klimawandel hinreichend belegt ist; dass die Sanktionen gegen Russland Putin schaden; dass die AfD die Demokratie bedroht.
Diese Desinformationen sind deswegen keine, weil die Regierung sie für wahr erklärt. Lustig ist, was die Bundesregierung zu ihrem neuen Zensur- und Meinungskontrollprojekt schreibt: Wie “wir als Gesellschaft damit (gemeint sind die “Desinformationen”) umgehen können, müssen wir diskutieren.” Achtung: Diskutiert werden sollen nicht die als Deinformation etikettierten Äußerungen selbst – sondern der “Umgang” mit ihnen und ihren Urhebern. Wenn Verächtlichmachung und Verschattung nicht mehr ausreichen, kommt irgendwann das Umerziehungslager. (DM)
Saudi Arabia has most to lose if US strikes go sideways
Riyadh is among Gulf States expressing concern and even distancing themselves from Western attacks in Yemen
Since November, the Houthis in Yemen have launched scores of missile and drone attacks on vessels in the Gulf of Aden and the southern Red Sea in reaction to the U.S.-backed Israeli war on Gaza. Ansarallah, the dominant Houthi militia, also hijacked the Japanese-operated and partly Israeli-owned Galaxy Leader on November 19.
On December 19, the Pentagon responded by establishing Operation Prosperity Guardian, a mostly Western security initiative aimed at deterring the Houthis from disrupting shipping near the Bab el-Mandeb, the narrow straight separating Yemen from the Horn of Africa. About 30 percent of all global containers and approximately 12 percent of world trade transit the Bab el-Mandeb.
Yet Operation Prosperity Guardian failed to deter Ansarallah from continuing its missile and drone strikes. The group has said consistently that these attacks on vessels off Yemen’s coast will end if and only when Israel ceases its attacks on Gaza. Rather than using U.S. leverage to persuade the Israeli government to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza, the Biden administration, along with the UK, has carried out over the past week a series of airstrikes against Houthi targets across Yemen while continuing to supply Israel with bombs and other weaponry to continue its Gaza campaign. The Pentagon was keen to emphasize that this month’s U.S.-UK strikes against Ansarallah targets in Yemen took place outside Operation Prosperity Guardian’s framework.
These strikes, the first direct U.S. military intervention against the Houthis since October 2016, are escalating regional tensions in ways that are unsettling Washington’s closest Arab allies and partners in the Persian Gulf.
Apart from Bahrain, which joined Australia, Canada, and the Netherlands in playing nonoperational roles in these American-British strikes, the other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have refused to participate. And most of them have expressed concern about Washington and London’s escalation. Even before January 11, when the first wave of strikes took place, some Gulf Arab officials warned explicitly against such military action.
During a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on January 7, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani made clear his concerns. “We never see a military action as a resolution,” he asserted, adding that protecting shipping lanes through “diplomatic means” would be the “best way possible.” Nine days later, while addressing the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Sheikh Mohammed warned that military strikes against the Houthis would fail to contain Ansarallah’s operations. “We need to address the central issue, which is Gaza, in order to get everything else defused… If we are just focusing on the symptoms and not treating the real issues, [solutions] will be temporary,” he said.
Shortly after the U.S.-UK strikes, Kuwait also expressed “grave concern and keen interest in the developments in the Red Sea region following the attacks that targeted sites in Yemen.”
As for Oman, which has often served as a key mediator and geopolitical balancer in the region, its foreign ministry declared that Muscat “can only condemn the use of military action by friendly countries” and warned that the U.S.-UK strikes risk worsening the Middle East’s perilous situation. “We denounce the resort to military action by [Western] allies while Israel persists in its brutal war without accountability,” read a statement from the ministry.
Saudi Arabia’s high stakes
But the GCC member most concerned about the escalating tensions in the Gulf of Aden, southern Red Sea, and Yemen is likely Saudi Arabia. Late last year, Riyadh asked the Biden administration to show restraint when responding to Ansarallah’s attacks on vessels off Yemen’s coast. After the U.S. and UK strikes began, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for “avoiding escalation” while noting that Riyadh was monitoring events with “great concern.”
In an interview with RS, Mehran Kamrava, a professor of government at Georgetown University in Qatar, explained that “[t]his statement indicates Saudi efforts to encourage de-escalation and at the same time to ensure its short- and medium-term diplomatic interests by signaling its concern to all the parties involved, including the U.S. and Britain.”
“The Saudis are concerned and for good reason,” according to Aziz Alghashian, a fellow at Lancaster University in Britain. “The Saudi ruling elite want to avoid being caught in the middle of regional and international conflicts,” he told RS.
Among other things, the Saudis want their nearly two-year-old truce with the Houthis to be preserved. The kingdom is also determined to ensure that the Saudi-Iranian détente, that was mediated by Oman, Iraq, and China last March, remains on track. The view from Riyadh is that the U.S.-UK military intervention in Yemen threatens to undermine both interests.
“The Saudi concern is that attacks on shipping in the Red Sea, and U.S. and UK attacks on Yemen bring Iran and the Houthis closer together and that Iran [will] become more directly involved in Houthi [operations],” according to Kamrava. “By attacking Yemen, the U.S. and UK have already escalated the Gaza war beyond Palestine. Saudi Arabia would want to do whatever it can to contain a further escalation as it may spill over into its own borders and to result in a radicalization of domestic political sensibilities.”
The Saudi leadership recognizes that the kingdom would be in a much more vulnerable position if the ongoing regional crisis were unfolding during the 2016-20 period, when tensions between Riyadh and Tehran were sky high. Due to their recent détente, the kingdom perceives the Iranian threat to the kingdom as far more manageable. “The escalation of regional tension due to the war on Gaza and the subsequent escalation of tensions in the Red Sea are examples of why the Saudi-Iranian normalization deal struck last March is strategically [valuable to Riyadh],” said Alghashian.
Ultimately, with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, better known as MbS, at the helm, the Saudi leadership wants to prioritize its Vision 2030 — the kingdom’s ambitious economic diversification agenda. A successful Vision 2030 requires stability in Saudi Arabia and its neighborhood. It’s within this context that the Saudi government renormalized diplomatic relations with Iran last year, embraced opportunities for rapprochement with Qatar and Turkey in 2021/22, and engaged the Houthis in talks about a permanent truce.
With NEOM, a futuristic metropolis, and other Vision 2030 projects based along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, officials in Riyadh are gravely concerned about how the Gaza war, the related Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea, and U.S.-UK retaliation could destabilize this body of water and the surrounding territory. Further escalation by any of the parties is a scenario that the Saudi government wants to avoid at all costs.
To ensure that Ansarallah does not resume its attacks against Saudi Arabia, Riyadh has tried to distance itself from this month’s U.S.-UK military strikes in Yemen. However, given Manama’s participation, however nominal, in Washington and London’s attacks on Houthi targets, as well as its normalized relationship with Israel, the possibility that the Houthis may retaliate by targeting the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, which is based in Bahrain, can’t be dismissed. Given the extent to which protecting Bahrain’s national security has been a high priority for Saudi Arabia and the other GCC states, such a scenario risks serious damage to Riyadh’s interests.
As Kamrava observed, targeting U.S. interests on the Arabian Peninsula by the Houthis, or “some of the loose grouplets within them,” could constitute an “extremely dangerous development and a conflagration that would be difficult to contain.”

His road to war with Iran is based on the premise they are behind the 140 missile attacks that have wounded over 70 US soldiers in Iraq and Syria. Of course, Biden has made those 3,400 soldiers there sitting ducks since they illegally occupy countries that for some strange reason, want them out.
Shi’ite militias there have been targeting US troops there for years, but the attacks have become relentless since Biden began supporting and arming Israel’s ongoing genocidal ethnic cleansing of Gaza 110 days ago.
Biden and his war team warn that if a single US soldier is killed, he may have no choice but to attack Iran, even tho the Pentagon said it has no direct evidence Iran is directing the attacks by the Iraqi and Syrian militias.
One US official said a single US death could be the red line that results in US retaliation against Iran. So far, “That is a red line that has not been crossed, but if the Iranian-backed militias ever have a day of better aim or better luck, it easily could be.”
Better aim or better luck… all that’s required for Joe Biden to ravage his fourth country in 3 years.

US, Israel Advancing Major Fighter Jet Deals Amid Gaza Slaughter
One deal is for Israel to receive 25 F-35 fighter jets worth $3 billion that will be paid for with US aidby Dave DeCamp
Amid Israel’s slaughter in Gaza, US and Israeli officials met in Washington this week to discuss the advancement of major weapons deals that will arm Israel with dozens of fighter jets, Apache helicopters, and munitions.
One of the deals includes a new squadron of 25 F-35 fighter jets and is worth about $3 billion. Israel’s Defense Ministry first announced its intention to procure the F-35s last summer and said they would be purchased using US-provided aid.
Sources told The Times of Israel that Israel also intends to procure a squadron of 25 F-15IA fighter jets and a squadron of 12 Apache helicopters. It’s unclear how the F-15s and Apaches will be paid for, but the US is looking to give Israel an additional $14 billion in military aid on top of the $3.8 billion it receives each year.
Israeli Defense Ministry Director General Eyal Zamir met with senior State Department and Pentagon officials to discuss the fighter jets and helicopters. The Times report said the next step for the deals to be signed is for both governments to formally approve them, which will likely happen in the coming weeks. The delivery of the fighter jets and helicopters will take a few years.
Zamir also discussed the continued US supply of bombs and other types of munitions to support the Israeli onslaught in Gaza. The US has delivered over 10,000 tons of weapons to Israel since October 7, demonstrating the strong US support for Israel’s campaign, which has killed over 25,000 Palestinians, including 10,000 children.
