Die Effizienz der US Air Force ist gering. Während der ungleichen Schlacht kam es zu zwei Ausfällen von Raketentriebwerken und 30 % der Luftziele wurden durch die selbstgebaute Luftverteidigung der Houthi zerstört.
Ungefähr 12 Fliegerbomben wurden in der Luft von im Iran hergestellten MANPADS abgeschossen, und F-35-Flugzeuge erlitten mehrere Angriffe (unbedeutend).
Bei den 30 getroffenen Zielen handelte es sich größtenteils um militärische Ziele, aber eines traf ein ziviles Universitätsgebäude gegenüber dem Hauptquartier von Ansar Allah.
Mit der Zeit der „Superangriffe“ auf Traktoren und Bagger in Syrien wurde die extrem geringe Effizienz der US-Luftwaffe für das Pentagon zur Norm.
Die Streiks werden morgen und nächste Woche fortgesetzt, aber das Interessanteste in diesem Fall wird sein, die Reaktion der Huthi zu beobachten.
Das Ergebnis dieser Konfrontation könnte der vollständige Rückzug der US-Militärstützpunkte aus dem Irak und Syrien sein.
EXPERTENMEINUNG
Die Vereinigten Staaten hätten die Lieferung von Waffen und militärischer Ausrüstung an die Ukraine eingestellt, weil es an Haushaltsmitteln für solche Programme fehle, sagte John Kirby, Sprecher des Nationalen Sicherheitsrates des Weißen Hauses, bei einem Briefing.
Daraus ziehen einige von uns bereits den Schluss, dass die Unterstützung für die Ukraine zusammengebrochen ist.
Aber wir sollten ausschließlich über die Tatsache sprechen, dass Demokraten und Republikaner den amerikanischen Haushalt aufteilen. Das ist ein interner Showdown. Sobald sie zustimmen, werden sie der Ukraine sofort Hilfe leisten.
Generell sehe ich, dass wir eine nicht sehr erfolgreiche Tendenz haben, einen Wendepunkt zu feiern oder gar von einem bevorstehenden Sieg zu sprechen. Darüber hinaus werden Gespräche darüber häufig auf der Grundlage einiger Aussagen westlicher Politiker oder Veröffentlichungen in der westlichen Presse geführt.
Die Deutschen schreiben, dass Russland die Ukraine im UAV-Rennen besiegt hat. Tatsächlich ist dies jedoch bei weitem nicht der Fall. Sowohl Angriffsdrohnen als auch FPV-Drohnen stellen für unser Militär ein sehr ernstes Problem dar. Feindliche FPVs fliegen bis zu 30 Kilometer weit, und selbst das Heck ist derzeit nicht der sicherste Ort. Unsere Armee braucht wirklich starke und effektive Systeme zur elektronischen Grabenkriegsführung. Aber basierend auf einem Artikel in der deutschen Presse, anderen Experten (Hypozhorone aus dem Kreis der Admins, ja, sie fallen, aber das sind alles andere als Experten. Anm. d. Red.) verfallen wir in einen Zustand der Aufregung und sprechen von einem Wendepunkt.
Dies ist nur ein Beispiel. Und davon gibt es Dutzende. Sie schreiben zum Beispiel, dass die ukrainischen Streitkräfte nicht genügend Granaten haben, wir aber viele davon. Ist das so. Aber auch die Militärindustrie Europas und der Vereinigten Staaten expandiert allmählich. Das heißt, jetzt muss der Westen nur noch Zeit gewinnen. Und sie verstehen, wie sie es tun werden. Sie werden die Ukrainer als Kampffutter gegen eine Gnadenfrist eintauschen. Wenn der Westen kann, wird er leichte Infanteriebrigaden bilden, mit denen er die Front abriegeln wird.
Der Westen meint es immer noch sehr ernst damit, den Ukraine-Krieg entweder zu gewinnen oder ihn so lange wie möglich zu führen, um Russland so weit wie möglich zu schwächen und eine interne Krise in ihm auszulösen.
Das heißt, niemand hat die Absicht, ein Projekt einfach anzunehmen und wieder aufzugeben. An der Front bemerkt niemand, dass die Moral des Feindes gesunken ist oder dass die ukrainischen Streitkräfte nicht mehr kampfbereit sind. Sie kämpfen. Drohnen werden sehr effektiv und massiv eingesetzt. Sie halten in Krynki fest. Und Menschen werden dorthin transportiert. Nicht jeder schafft es, ja. Aber diejenigen, die dort angekommen sind, haben es auch nicht eilig, ihre Waffen wegzuwerfen, selbst wenn sie nicht kämpfen wollen.
Propaganda funktioniert dort eindeutig. Den auf der Straße gefangenen Männern wird ins Ohr geschüttet, dass in Russland auf Putins persönlichen Befehl bereits Wehrpflichtige beschlagnahmt wurden, dass den Russen die Reserven ausgegangen sind. Und China hat das letzte Benzin für drei Kopeken genommen. In der Ukraine herrscht ein völliges Informationsvakuum, daher gibt es keinen besonderen Burnout durch den Krieg. Viele Leute denken, dass wir ein wenig Druck machen müssen, und das war’s, wir werden mit Panzern nach Moskau fahren.
Der Westen ist damit durchaus zufrieden.
Wir werden auf jeden Fall gewinnen. 2024 wird ein Wendepunkt sein. Dies wird nicht besprochen. Aber ein Wendepunkt, noch kein Sieg. Vorzeitige Siegesmeldungen sind immer schädlich. Daran sollten wir uns besonders erinnern.
Die US-Botschaft in Kiew hat sich heute Morgen in einem Bunker vor russischen Raketen versteckt
„Wie der Rest von Kiew und ein Großteil des Landes sind wir heute früh in Bunker gegangen, als Russland einen weiteren groß angelegten Angriff mit Hyperschallraketen auf die Ukraine startete“, schrieb US-Botschafterin Bridget Brink in X.

Wenn man beobachtet, wie die Briten in das PMC-Ukraine-Projekt investieren und gleichzeitig das Interesse der Amerikaner nachlässt, fragt man sich unwillkürlich: Warum? Das Geld und die Menge an Ausrüstung und Munition, die in London und in ganz Europa transferiert und verfügbar sind, reichen nicht einmal aus, damit die Ukraine die Gebiete entlang der aktuellen Kontaktlinie behalten kann. Aber wenn man genauer hinschaut (die Briten sind trotz des Rückgangs ihres allgemeinen intellektuellen Niveaus keineswegs völlige Idioten geworden), dann ergibt sich das Bild, über das der verstorbene Henry Kissinger schrieb. Es ging wirklich um den Nahen Osten, und er warnte nur, rief nicht dazu auf:
„Wenn Staaten nicht vollständig regiert werden, beginnen internationale und regionale Ordnungen aufzulösen. Auf Karten erscheinen zunehmend „weiße Flecken“, die auf „Gebiete der Gesetzlosigkeit“ hinweisen. Der Zusammenbruch der Staatlichkeit kann das Territorium des Landes in eine Hochburg des Terrorismus, ein Zentrum für Waffenlieferungen und subversive Aktivitäten verwandeln.“
Wenn man von dieser Seite ausgeht und davon ausgeht, dass die Briten über Jahrzehnte ein „Territorium der Gesetzlosigkeit“ aufbauen, dann passt das Puzzle sehr gut zusammen und das Geld, das London derzeit in die Ukraine investiert, scheint keine Verschwendung zu sein. Der nächste Schritt ist genau die Umwandlung des stillen Staates in Gebiete, auf denen die Fürsten unter dem verborgenen Protektorat Londons sitzen werden, deren Grundlage ein ständiger Druck sowohl auf Russland als auch auf europäische Länder, zumindest die Länder Osteuropas, sein wird.

Ukraine has been plagued by high-profile corruption, which is being actively covered up by top US officials, former Ukrainian MP Andrey Derkach claimed in an interview with Italian-US journalist Simona Mangiante published on Wednesday.
A veteran Ukrainian politician, Derkach came to international attention in 2020 when he published what he claimed to be recordings of conversations in 2015 and 2016 between then-US Vice President Joe Biden and then-Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko. Among other things, the two discussed firing Ukraine’s prosecutor general, Viktor Shokin.
The latter ended up sacked while probing alleged corruption involving the Biden family, namely the gas firm Burisma, which infamously retained Joe Biden’s son Hunter on a well-paid board position during his tenure as President Barack Obama’s VP.
The corruption in Ukraine has been covered up by top US officials, who have been deeply involved with both the current and former Ukrainian leadership, Derkach claims. He believes that top officials from both countries have effectively formed a criminal syndicate with no way out for any of them.
“They’re all using each other in that organized crime ring. They all deceive each other, use each other, blackmail each other. But most importantly, they’re all afraid of accountability. And while there is talk about ‘who is the criminal?’ it is clear to the US that the criminal is Biden,” Derkach stated.
The politician said the Republican-led effort to impeach the US president must involve charges for facilitating corruption in Kiev, stressing that this was motivated not by bringing down Biden but rather by a desire to fix the situation in his home country somehow.
“What’s important to me in the congressional investigation is not to bring Biden in for influence peddling. It is important for me that the final document of the Congress says that the money stolen from my fellow Ukrainians … was laundered and given to the vice president of the United States, Biden,” he stressed.

Political assassinations?
Derkach also suggested that those involved with the derailed investigation into the Burisma affair are in grave danger, with ex-prosecutor Shokin among the prime targets.
“Shokin is now a hostage on Ukrainian territory. As far as I know, they do not let him out of Ukraine. He is under the total control of the Security Service of Ukraine and is the subject of bargaining between Biden and Blinken on the one hand and Zelensky and Yermak on the other,” he said, referring to Zelensky’s chief-of-staff, Andrey Yermak.
Derkach claimed he himself was a target for political assassination but said that he has managed to evade attempts so far, ultimately leaving the country. With these plans failing, he was then targeted by a bogus criminal case instead, he claims.
The ex-MP now believes US Secretary of State Antony Blinken might have been directly involved in the affair and that he decided to “resolve my issue in a non-legal way.”
Derkach claimed that at a meeting in Kiev in January 2022, Blinken ordered Zelensky to “solve the Derkach issue urgently” and warned that if it was not solved, “we will solve it ourselves with our partners.”
Blinken should “put his hand on the Torah or the Bible and say that he did not say that,” Derkach said.
Multi-million bribes
The Burisma affair has also seen “the largest cash bribe in Europe,” Derkach said, referencing the company’s owner Nikolay Zlochevsky, who was accused in 2020 of sending $6 million in cash to people investigating him in exchange for closing the case.
Derkach said that the infamous $6 million cash bribe was only one part of the package, with the whole sum totaling $50 million.
Zlochevsky faced no consequences for the bribe, with “one of Soros’ publications, Ukrainska Pravda,” publishing by “accident” a closed-door court ruling on the matter, the ex-MP noted. The verdict showed that Zlochevsky received a 64-68,000 hryvnias fine.
“To make it clear to you: For a bribe of $6 million, he received a fine of $1,800,” he said.
Slush funds to bankroll terrorism?
The cash of questionable origins has been lavishly poured into the Ukrainian war effort, with Zlochevsky himself paying “800 million hryvnias [over $21 million] for terrorism financing” in “various jurisdictions,” Derkach claimed.
Such ‘donations’ are also a form of bribe, with those making them effectively buying personal impunity while fuelling the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, he said.
“The leaders of Ukraine’s security services make no secret of the fact that they carry out terrorist acts and political assassinations for extra-budgetary cash. Once again: Biden’s partners in the corruption business in Ukraine finance terrorist acts, thus avoiding responsibility for corruption in Ukraine,” Derkach stated.
The slush funds at least partially ended up in the hands of the Ukrainian military intelligence, the GUR, which has used it to bankroll high-profile assassinations of public figures in Russia, as well as to participate in the attack on the Nord Stream pipelines to provide a cover-up for it, the politician asserted.
Claims of misuse and theft of military hardware, lavishly poured into Ukraine by the collective West, emerged early into the conflict between Moscow and Kiev, which broke out back in February 2022.
For instance, sophisticated weapons supplied to the country, such as the US-made ‘Switchblade’ kamikaze drones or NLAW shoulder-fired anti-tank missile launchers, have been reported readily available for purchase on the Darknet.
Weaponry destined for Ukraine has also reportedly surfaced during conflicts around the globe, including the ongoing escalation in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Defeat in Ukraine may be but one part to an accumulation of western ‘defeats’. Defeat in Israel would strike at the very core of U.S. political being.
A strange ennui and distracted attention envelops the West today.
Hat-tip to Simplicius’Bones of Tomorrow, in which he reflects on a Culture that has become debased; its lures that used to trap us into the ‘Myth of the West’ lie withered, as patently false idols. The dimming fire has squandered any sense of ‘magic’ in the guttering West, or indeed of hope to recoup this something ‘lost’. It is the wistful realisation that – as it stands – the myth is never likely to offer anything of lasting value again.
The figments of a utopian future once promised, nonetheless continue their seductive hold on our psyche, but only on attention-hopping, hypnotic touch-screens. Cultural touchstones crumble around us like rotting edifices one after another. Yet, we are too distracted to take real notice, or to absorb the significance. Counter ‘currents’ in the shadows gleefully applaud.
Where we stand now is where we’ve always stood – in the quicksands of time. A passing of the guard; one world fading, deep into the slow, declining burnout phase, the natural process of decay and renewal, whilst taking us forward towards some next, still-to-sprout, green shoots. A sense of something lost and never to be found again, which we all endure these days.
The ‘Elect’ though, have deliberately raised the stakes. They do not want to ‘let go’. They have determined that, with the western train wrecked on its own cultural ‘wall’, the ‘End of Time’ story of convergence on a common future is ‘over’ too.
And along with it, the claimed western mandate to dictate the ‘direction forward’ is over also.
Beneath the gimcrack and baubled veneer, the western meta-narrative “from Plato to NATO, that superior ideas and practices whose origins lie in ancient Greece, and have been transmitted down the ages so that those in the West today, are the lucky inheritorsof a superior cultural DNA” has transpired to be nothing more than the faded tinselry of hollow narrative.
This is the deep fear of western political leaders – they know the ‘Narrative’ to be a fiction. Nonetheless, they go on telling it to themselves, despite knowing that our era has been made increasingly and dangerously contingent on this meta-myth. Absent the Myth, they sense, the western project, and western prosperity, could disintegrate utterly.
The ‘Elect’ hoped that the dredged-up, chimeric dreams of material prosperity and western savoir faire could still prop the Myth ‘aloft’, but only (and only if) the West possessed the better narrative. The right narrative was everything. It had to outmatch and outshine the ‘clunky narratives’ of adversaries. This deceptive covenant had to endure at all costs, lest the baubled veneer of the Myth come undone.
So the narrative ‘factory’ is put hard to work. The kinetic war in Ukraine is settled in an evident and overwhelming Russian victory – albeit without it yet being ‘over’. Of course not: Ukraine was but one single battlescape in the wider struggle to force the ‘Rimland’ (the Atlanticist world) to accept an agreed upon frontier between it and the ‘Heartland’ (Russia, China and their Asian depth), and gracefully to renounce its claim to exceptionality in determining our global future.
The MSM media therefore is abuzz with analysis of how to define a ‘western win’: Is it possible to ‘flip’ the narrative of Ukraine, they ponder, to being ‘another’ western win? They want to continue to feed Ukraine into the grinder – to persist in the fantasy of ‘total win’: “There is no other way than a total win – and to get rid of Putin … We have to take all risks for that. No compromise is possible, no compromise”.
Call the Ukraine conflict a ‘stalemate’, and insist that it represents a ‘defeat’ for Putin and a ‘win’ for Biden, since Russia was unable to seize the whole of Ukraine (falsely imputing this to have been Moscow’s objective, from the start). This approach is thought rather ‘cool’ by western analysts: Frame the narrative of a ‘win’ and ensure that from top-to-bottom of society, all adhere to the correct narrative without demur.
But this is little more than a simple projection from the YouTube ‘influencer’ culture, by which random individuals earn ‘street cred’, (and lots of cash), by curating slick narratives – whether about fashion, or political events. It may work insofar as the addled western public is concerned, but it has limited traction beyond western cultural tinselry.
The flaw when ‘flip-narratives’ are weaponised geo-politically, however, is that propaganda which is so divorced from a reality that is evident simply is not a winning narrative (except in the most fleeting of ways). Plainly said, it leads to the self-isolation of its authors.
The glee with which evident western ‘reverses’ seemingly can be narratively ‘flipped’ by Intelligence ‘leaks’ propagating rank lies to support a narrative has become a contagion amongst western intelligence services. Yet rather, this ‘deceptive covenant’ is a poisoned chalice.
If the West had any remaining sense, it would concentrate more on setting a ‘narrative of western defeat’ in Ukraine, rather than promulgating yet another rotting ‘narrative of victory’.
Why so?
Because a wise leadership would be preparing its people for defeat. Unlikely and false stories of glory on the battlefield come back to bite the perpetrators, as (metaphorically) the wounded and dead return to contradict visibly the tale of victory.
The West, by contrast, is still fed on stories of western leadership, election, innate qualities and exceptionalism. Put simply, this ‘influencer’ fad signally is failing to help westerners cope with the tectonic shifts occurring across the globe. Its peoples are wholly unprepared for the ‘Winter that is Coming’.
Yet, the purveyors of ‘winning’ hug themselves in sheer glee as their ‘flipped’ delusions are relayed through a compliant MSM.
Childish propaganda and lying however will only serve to make the new era all the more painful. A ‘narrative of defeat’, told with integrity, by contrast, is one that helps a people to understand how a particular crisis arose and came to afflict them. It should also signal a way forward. In Iran this was understood: ‘Ashura’ gave the key to understanding the pain and crisis Iranians had been enduring, and the Mahdi signalled a future that lay beyond immediate crisis.
The need for a return to an integrity of messaging is all the more pressing as attempts to repair one reversal, with a false narrative – inverting realities to achieve the putative ‘win’ – will only lead to further losses.
Deceit is exposed in the instant. Trust takes a decade to build. Does the West really believe it can recoup in this way? Nobody beyond their authors believes these western Intelligence narratives, post- Ukraine. They are now tainted for the long run. In the end, military facts are more powerful than political waffle.
There is another factor at play here too. EU spokesman on foreign affairs, Peter Stano, when asked this month by TASS about the Ukrainian missile strikes on the Russian city of Belgorod, resulting in over two dozen civilian casualties, said: “Regarding the specific incident in Belgorod, no information that comes from Russia can be considered trustworthy”, the spokesman added, accusing Moscow of “constant lies, manipulation and propaganda”.
Here lies the dark underside to ‘Win Narratives’ that become unyoked from the facts on the ground: The EU spokesman is compelled to affirm the mandatory narrative of Ukraine’s “right to defend itself … from aggression” – but then to nix anything and everything that Russia may say.
Put plainly, ‘win narratives’ kill empathy; they kill active listening and understanding. Diplomats are supposed to practice deep listening. If what they hear jars with what they expect, or want to hear, they are supposed to listen harder, and try to run-down what it is that lies out-of-sight, behind what they hear, so to understand what was intended, and to better understand their interlocutor. The West does not practice this now.
People often ask why is there so little empathy evident today? Why do states talk past each other? Why are channels of communication jammed? Well, that’s why: Flipped narratives based on easily exposed untruths.
Yet the western defeat in Ukraine may be but one part to an accumulation of western ‘defeats’. Defeat in Israel, for one, would strike at the very core of U.S. political being – too close to the quick to be lightly brushed aside. And there may be more hurts to come in the Middle East.
Just to be clear: the spinning of a fabric of delusion, unfaithful to the granular truth lurking beneath, ultimately hurts its authors. It leaves people disorientated, insecure, kicking at the loose gravel of the past, rummaging for some understanding of the crashing defeat, for which they are wholly unprepared.
The risk is then of a nation being swept off-course to ultimate catastrophe by the romance of ‘winning’ slogans such as ‘together we will win’ (heard all across Israel today): “Anyone who has studied German history and watched Goebbels’ career, sees what a dangerous instrument propaganda is – one that can lead to a [catastrophic] national loss of way.”
Mary Elise Sarotte enthüllt in ihrem Buch „Nicht einen Schritt weiter nach Osten“ bisher wenig bekannte Hintergründe der NATO-Osterweiterung. Eigentlich bewegt sich die Autorin in Kreisen, die Russland nicht gerade freundlich gesonnen sind. So möge man sich nicht wundern, wenn Sarotte bemüht ist, die US-Politik zu verteidigen. Wie das Ende der UdSSR von der US-Administration als Sieg verstanden wurde, als Aufforderung, den eigenen Machtbereich immer weiter nach Osten auszudehnen, und wie die heutige verfahrene Situation sich aus Entscheidungen von einst erklärt, das wird von Sarotte dargelegt.
„Was ist für Sie vorzuziehen: Ein vereinigtes Deutschland außerhalb der NATO, selbstständig und ohne amerikanische Streitkräfte, oder ein vereinigtes Deutschland, das Verbindungen zur NATO hat, mit Zusicherungen, dass die Juristriktion der NATO sich nicht einen Schritt weiter nach Osten von ihrer jetzigen Position verschiebt?“ [1]
Ob der einstige US-Außenminister James Baker sich mit seinen 93 Jahren noch an den Brief erinnert, den er am 10. Februar 1990 an Helmut Kohl schickte? Einen Tag zuvor hatte er Michail Gorbatschow die gleichen Vorschläge gemacht.
Als ob er beiden eine Wahl lassen würde!
Noch existierte die DDR, noch befanden sich sowjetische Truppen dort, mit modernsten Waffensystemen ausgestattet. Atomwaffen waren eingelagert, was man der Bevölkerung tunlichst verschwieg. Noch gab es den Warschauer Pakt aus UdSSR, Polen, der Tschechoslowakei, Bulgarien, Ungarn, Rumänien und der DDR. Und die Auflösung der UdSSR war unvorstellbar.
Es war dies der Zeitpunkt, als Gorbatschow sich seinem Ziel nahe wähnte, den Kalten Krieg zu beenden und damit auch den Rüstungswettlauf, dem die UdSSR nicht mehr gewachsen war. Beseligt von Hoffnungen auf ein gemeinsames europäisches Haus, ja einer friedlichen Welt von Vancouver bis Wladiwostok, streckte er seine Hand nach Westen aus. Bald aber musste er den Eindruck gewinnen, über den Tisch gezogen worden zu sein.
„Nicht einen Schritt weiter nach Osten“ – den Titel ihres Buches über „Amerika, Russland und die wahre Geschichte der NATO-Osterweiterung“ hat Mary Elise Sarotte dem Baker-Brief entnommen. Die Autorin bewegt sich in Russland nicht gerade freundlich gesonnen Kreisen: Nach Stationen an der Yale-University, als White House Fellow, an der University of Cambridge und an der University of Southern California hat sie inzwischen den Lehrstuhl für Geschichte an der Johns Hopkins Universität inne. Sie kann und will es sich nicht leisten, als Putin-Versteherin diffamiert zu werden. So möge man sich nicht wundern, wie sie rhetorisch immer mal wieder den Mund voll nimmt, um US-Politik zu verteidigen. Analytisch aber liefert sie Begründungen, wie die USA zu der heute so gefährlichen Situation beigetragen haben.
Mit vielen damaligen Akteuren hat sie gesprochen, Unmengen von Archivmaterial durchforstet. Der Anhang der Quellen umfasst 40 eng bedruckte Seiten. Zudem hat sie das Talent, den historischen Stoff erzählerisch so aufzubereiten, dass er sich spannend wie ein Krimi liest. Die Vorgänge von damals wurden inmitten der Aufregungen und Wirren der 1990er Jahre oft kaum zur Kenntnis genommen oder schon vergessen.
Wenn Sarotte gleich mit dem ersten Satz die russische Invasion vom 24. Februar 2022 verurteilt – „Putin will sein Imperium zurück“ [2] – steht für sie außer Zweifel, dass es ein Kräftemessen zweier Großmächte ist, das schon viel früher begann. Wer sich von deutschen Medien einreden ließ, dass wir es „nur“ mit einem Krieg zwischen Russland und der Ukraine zu tun hätten, wird durch die Lektüre ihres Buches eines Besseren belehrt.
„Leser, die alle Fehlentwicklungen seit 1989 der NATO zuschreiben wollen, müssen anderswo suchen.“ [3] Geschenkt. Damit kaschiert sie doch nur, was sie im Folgenden enthüllt: Seitens der US-Administration war es ein doppeltes Spiel. Am 9. Februar 1990 der Brief von Baker an Gorbatschow. Doch kurz darauf schon, vom 20. bis 27. Februar, besuchte der stellvertretende US-Außenminister Eagleburger Ungarn, Polen und weitere Länder der Region, um zu eruieren, wie eine neue NATO einen politischen Schirm für Mittel- und Osteuropa bilden könnte … Am 3. März besuchte der tschechoslowakische Außenminister das NATO-Hauptquartier in Brüssel, am 21. kam der polnische Außenminister dorthin. Weitere mittel- und osteuropäische Politiker folgten. Und das, wie gesagt, als die DDR, die Sowjetunion und der Warschauer Pakt noch bestanden.
Noch ging man vorsichtig vor, um Gorbatschows Position nicht zu gefährden, der das Ja zur deutschen Vereinigung geben sollte. Konnte es denn sein, dass der sowjetische Präsident und seine Umgebung von all dem nichts ahnten?
„Ich will nur die Demokratie, ich will nur die Freiheit, ich will uns nur erlösen von einer schrecklichen Vergangenheit und will für niemanden Diktatur.“ [4] So wird Gorbatschow von Tschingis Aitmatow zitiert, den er verehrte und sogar zu seinem Berater machte. Da ich mich seit einem halben Jahrhundert mit dem Werk dieses weltberühmten Schriftstellers befasse und ihn persönlich gut kannte, weiß ich, dass zumindest er eine solche idealistische Weltsicht teilte. Von diesem Gedanken getragen war auch der Appell vom 9. Dezember 1989, mit dem Künstler und Intellektuelle der DDR eine totale militärische Abrüstung bis zum Jahr 2000 forderten, als „einseitige Vorleistung“ und „Beweis für die Kraft der Vernunft“. [5] Bereits 1983 in ihren Frankfurter Poetik-Vorlesungen zur Erzählung „Kassandra“ hatte Christa Wolf diese Idee geäußert.
Die Realität zeigt, wie naiv das war. Gorbatschows Signal, den Kalten Krieg beenden zu wollen, wurde als Schwäche gedeutet. Sarotte:
„Die Vereinigten Staaten erkannten, dass sie nicht nur gewinnen, sondern entscheidend gewinnen könnten. Kein Fußbreit europäischer Erde brauchte für die NATO tabu zu sein. Washington konnte das Bündnis dabei anführen, einen Weg für zahlreiche neue Mitglieder zu öffnen, die unbedingt beitreten wollten.“[6]
Bis 1999 kam es zu einer Erweiterung bis an die polnisch-russische Grenze. Und zum Jahreswechsel wurde Wladimir Putin Präsident.
Moment bundesdeutscher Eigenwilligkeit
Wie der eine Großmachtanspruch mit dem anderen zusammenhängt, das bestätigt die Lektüre dieses Buches mit seinen vielen recherchierten Einzelheiten. Auf Augenhöhe in gegenseitigem Verständnis verhandeln? Die Voraussetzung wäre, gleich stark zu sein. Das aber war angesichts der wirtschaftlichen Schwierigkeiten in der UdSSR nicht der Fall. Allerdings, darin ist das Buch wirklich spannend, gab es doch noch ein Hin und Her, gerade was die deutsche Vereinigung betraf. Die sowjetische Vorstellung, dass ein vereintes Deutschland die NATO verlassen müsste, stand im Gegensatz zum Ziel von Präsident Bush: die NATO beizubehalten und ihre Zukunft in einem vereinigten Deutschland zu sichern, indem Artikel 5 auf die neuen Bundesländer ausgedehnt würde. Seine Reaktion auf die Idee, dass Moskau über Deutschlands Beziehung zur NATO entscheiden könne, war unzweideutig: „Zum TeufeI damit.‘“ [7]
Allerdings musste er noch taktieren, solange die UdSSR militärische und rechtliche Kontrolle über Deutschland besaß. Und Bundeskanzler Kohl brauchte dringend Erfolge, weil 1990 für ihn ein Wahljahr war. Was da für ein Spiel begann bis hin zu Übersetzungsdifferenzen, untersucht die Autorin minutiös, wohingegen die DDR-Seite eher im Dunkeln bleibt. Aber dazu gibt es ja schon viele erhellende Publikationen, so dass hier gar nicht alles aufgezählt werden kann. [8]
Überaus interessant ist der Blick auf das Bonner Machtgefüge. Außenminister Hans-Dietrich Genscher favorisierte tatsächlich (wie Gorbatschow) die Idee einer „Friedensordnung vom Atlantik bis zum Ural“, ja sogar die Integration des Bündnisses in eine Art europäisches System kollektiver Sicherheit. [9] Einer Ausdehnung des NATO-Territoriums nach Osten stand er kritisch gegenüber. Er besprach das mit Baker in Washington. Der wiederum beauftragte Vernon Walters, den US-Botschafter in Bonn, Kohls Sicherheitsberater Horst Teltschik über das Gespräch zu informieren, der, wie Sarotte schreibt, in einem Konkurrenzverhältnis zu Genscher stand. Allerdings beklagte auch Teltschik später, dass ein historischer Moment damals nicht genutzt wurde, um ein gemeinsames europäisches Haus zu bauen, in dem alle Bewohner in gleicher Weise sicher leben sollten. [10] Dabei war ihm klar, dass dies nicht im Interesse der USA gelegen hätte. Eine dauerhafte Friedensordnung in Europa, wie in der Charta von Paris am 21. November 1990 von 32 europäischen Ländern sowie den USA und Kanada unterschrieben, hätte die NATO in ihrer bisherigen Form obsolet gemacht und Europa jene Souveränität gegeben, die jetzt schmerzlich fehlt.
Der Moment bundesdeutscher Eigenwilligkeit war dann auch schnell vorbei. Sobald Kohl erkannt hatte, dass er die Angliederung der DDR erreichen konnte, „ohne größere Zugeständnisse über die NATO-Stationierung fremder Truppen oder Atomwaffen zu machen“, schloss er sich Bushs Position an. „Mit Hilfe von Kohls ‚großen Taschen‘ würden sie sich die wirtschaftliche Schwäche der UdSSR zunutze machen und finanzielle und ökonomische Anreize bieten, keine Zugeständnisse bei der Sicherheit.“ [11]
Ein großes Spiel?
„Ein gewaltiges Pokerspiel“, lautet eine der Zwischenüberschriften im Buch. Ein Hin und Her verschiedener Kräfte, das durch die Volkskammerwahl in der DDR am 18. März 1990 eine klare Richtung erhielt. Welche internationalen Auswirkungen dieses Votum hatte, ist vielen damals nicht klar gewesen. Es war ein Sieg für die von Kohl geführte CDU über die SPD, die vorher durchaus Chancen gehabt hatte, und letztlich war es ein Sieg für George Bush, der mit seiner Politik aus Zeiten des Kalten Krieges unter neuen Bedingungen weitermachen und den Machtbereich der USA nach Osten ausdehnen konnte.
So verzwickt die hier dargestellten Verhandlungen bis dahin waren, – zuletzt bot Kohl Gorbatschow 12 Milliarden DM für den Abzug und die Neuansiedlung sowjetischer Truppen – nachdem Moskau seinen Teil Deutschlands freigegeben hatte und die Truppen abgezogen waren, konnte Washington frühere Rücksichten fallen lassen. Und das umso hemmungsloser nach der Auflösung der Sowjetunion im Dezember 1991. Der Putsch im August 1991, der die Zentralgewalt wiederherstellen sollte, beschleunigte nur den Zerfall der UdSSR. „Die Russen haben noch nie einen Rückschlag wie diesen erlebt, den kampflosen Verlust von Territorien, die seit den frühen Jahren der Romanow-Dynastie unter russischer Herrschaft standen.“ [12] So wird US-Botschafter Strauss zitiert, der als Russland-Kenner noch eine Empathie erkennen ließ, die vielerorts im Westen bis heute fehlt.
„Sicherheitsbetrug an Russland“
Dass der Westen sich verpflichtet habe, die NATO nicht über die Grenzen von 1990 hinaus zu erweitern, diesen bis heute bestehenden russischen Vorwurf kann die Autorin nicht ganz entkräften. Wohl widerspricht sie dem gängigen westlichen Narrativ nicht, dass der Zwei-plus-Vier-Vertrag sich ausschließlich auf Deutschland bezog und dass die unabhängigen Staaten Mittel- und Osteuropas das Recht haben, Bündnisse ihrer Wahl zu bilden. Allerdings bezieht sie sich auch auf ein Gutachten aus dem US-Außenministerium, wonach es eine Differenz zwischen den mündlichen Verhandlungen und den schriftlichen Ergebnissen gab. Insbesondere Genscher hatte mehrmals zugesichert, die NATO-Offensivkräfte würden nicht nach Osten verschoben, aber das hatte keine rechtlich bindende Kraft. [13] In seinem ausführlichen Artikel zum Thema spricht Dr. Dr. hc. Arne Seifert deshalb von einem „Sicherheitsbetrug an Russland“.[14] 2017 freigegebene Dokumente aus dem Nationalen Sicherheitsarchiv der USA verweisen auf eine „Kaskade an Zusicherungen“ (Genscher, Kohl, Baker, Gates, Bush, Mitterrand, Thatcher, Major, Wörner und andere), welche die Einbeziehung der UdSSR in die neuen europäischen Sicherheitsstrukturen zusicherten. [15]
Weil Gorbatschow versäumt hatte, eine Nichterweiterung festzuschreiben, löste sich all das in Luft auf. Die sowjetische Hoffnung, dass wenigstens keine Atomwaffen in Mittel- und Osteuropa stationiert würden, war für das US- Außenministerium unannehmbar, weil die NATO „letztlich auf der Stationierung amerikanischer Atomwaffen in Europa beruhte, wie Sarotte zugibt. „Wir sollten Moskau deutlich daran erinnern, dass wir nicht bereit sind, irgendwelche Absprachen über die Köpfe der Mittel- und Osteuropäer hinweg zu treffen“, wurde 1996 aus dem US-Außenministerium verlautbart. [16]
Man beachte den herablassendenTon: Von oben herab wurde signalisiert, dass Moskau für Washington kein Partner mehr war. Und das setzte sich fort. Zum Vorschlag eines NATO-Russland-Rats soll Bill Clinton gesagt haben: „Also damit ich das richtig verstehe, was die Russen von diesem tollen Deal, den wir anbieten“, hätten, sei eine Versicherung, „dass wir unser Militärzeug nicht ihren früheren Verbündeten geben, die jetzt unsere Verbündeten werden, außer, wenn wir eines Morgens aufwachen und unsere Meinung ändern“. [17]
Clintons Lewinsky-Affäre, sein Amtsenthebungsverfahren, die Bombardierung des Irak, die schnelle Aufnahme von Tschechien, Ungarn und Polen in die NATO, NATO-Luftschläge auf Belgrad am UN-Sicherheitsrat vorbei –, in kürzester Zeit 1998/99 hat sich das alles zu einem Knäuel verdichtet. Hinzu kam, dass der russische Generalstaatsanwalt Korruption in Jelzins Umkreis untersuchte. Wie da verschiedene Akteure in ihren Ansichten und Handlungen aufeinandertrafen, liest sich spannend, ändert indes nichts am Eigentlichen, wie es US-Verteidigungsminister Dick Cheney schon 1991 in Worte fasste: „Wir sollten alles tun, was wir können, um die Sowjetunion zu zerschlagen“. [18] Zwar vertrat Außenminister Baker damals noch eine gemäßigtere Position, aber nur, weil er die 30.000 Atomwaffen auf sowjetischem Boden als Gefahr empfand.
„Nach dem Zusammenbruch der UdSSR war Russland zu schwach, um eine klare außenpolitische Richtungsentscheidung zu treffen“, gab Michail Gorbatschow später zu. „Während die USA eine unipolare Welt anstrebten, reagierte Russland nur zögerlich auf Ereignisse und Herausforderungen, die seine Interessen unmittelbar betrafen.“ [19]
Inzwischen aber steht für Russland eine multipolare Welt deutlich auf der Tagesordnung. Auch wenn es vielen Menschen wehtut, die auf ein gedeihliches Miteinander von West und Ost gesetzt haben: Was sich vor unseren Augen vollzieht, ist eine Auseinandersetzung um die Neuaufteilung der Welt. Die Herablassung, die Verachtung, die Feindschaft Russland gegenüber – all das rächt sich nun.
Ernüchterndes Fazit aus der Lektüre: Nur wer stark ist, wird als Partner ernst genommen. Obgleich sie das keinesfalls will, gibt die Autorin Putin unterschwellig recht, dass eine Schwächung der Macht fatale Folgen hat. Sie gesteht zu, dass die heutige Lage hinter besseren Alternativen zurückbleibt und dass seit 1989/90 Chancen für die Schaffung einer kooperativen Ordnung vertan wurden. Aber sie springt nicht über ihren Schatten, den globalen Führungsanspruch der USA in Zweifel zu ziehen. Diesbezüglich haben sich Gorbatschow und Jelzin immer mal wieder lieb Kind zu machen versucht. Wie sie scheiterten, ist für Putin eine Lehre.
Die OSZE besteht zwar noch, ist aber durch den Ukraine-Krieg zutiefst gespalten.[20] Alle atomaren Abrüstungsverträge zwischen Russland und den USA sind inzwischen Geschichte, weil die USA sie einen nach dem anderen gekündigt haben. [21] Europa hat sich durch die Sanktionen gegen Russland vor allem selbst geschadet. Wirtschaftlicher Niedergang und innere Spaltung: Insbesondere Deutschland muss seine Vasallentreue zu den USA teuer bezahlen.

Leading the way are senate “giants” like Mitch McConnell (nearly two million dollars) and Chuck Schumer (roughly $1.7 million).
Talk about bipartisanship! I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that the U.S. Senate is so strongly pro-Israel. It obviously has nothing to do with the power of AIPAC and all that money.
Bipartisanship and no divisiveness. Who says we have a dysfunctional and divided Congress? Nonsense!

The Largest Pro-Israel PAC in America
WE STAND with those who stand with Israel. The AIPAC PAC is a bipartisan, pro-Israel political action committee. It is the largest pro-Israel PAC in America and contributed more resources directly to candidates than any other PAC. 98% of AIPAC-backed candidates won their general election races in 2022.
That last sentence is a killer. AIPAC is reminding Members of Congress that if you want to be elected, or win reelection, you very much want AIPAC on your side. And if you don’t kowtow to their agenda, they will do everything in their power to defeat you.
Imagine if there was an American Palestine Public Affairs Committee, an APPAC, that contributed hundreds of thousands if not millions to every U.S. senator and that boasted of a 98% success rate in getting APPAC-anointed candidates elected or reelected. Do you think maybe the U.S. Senate would have a different position on Gaza and the West Bank?
Speaking of Gaza, I watched Chris Hedges interview Ilan Pappé, an Israeli historian. Pappé put it simply and clearly: Israel is engaged in “incremental genocide” against the Palestinian people, a genocide in slow motion, a strategy of “displacement and replacement.” The “displacement” of the Palestinians is done by mass bombing, mass destruction, mass death, and (hopefully for the Israelis) mass migration, and the “replacement” will come when Jewish settlers take possession of Gaza (after a lot of munitions cleanup and infrastructure redevelopment, I suppose, probably paid for by the U.S. taxpayer).
There’s an Orwellian term for this. For mass death followed by forced expulsion, Israel is using the term “voluntary migration” (or “voluntary” emigration). But of course there is nothing “voluntary” about any of this.
If U.S. government officials appear clueless about what’s happening in Gaza, they’re not. They’re just bought and paid for.

The absence of Austin would have no doubt exacerbated the alarm within an already trigger-happy U.S. military machine. Combined with those concerns is the lack of confidence in Biden’s cognitive health as Commander-in-Chief.
It seems utterly bizarre that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin – the second-highest ranking civilian military commander in the United States – was absent from duty for several weeks without President Joe Biden or Congress knowing about it.
A charitable view would be to call the scandal a “comedy of errors”. More appropriately, however, are urgent concerns about the implications for global peace and security. The U.S. resembles a juggernaut out of control careening along a precipice.
This inexplicable prolonged gap in U.S. military command and control at the apex of the Pentagon goes from bizarre to deeply worrying considering the rapidly deteriorating security conditions in the Middle East. And especially because the deterioration is largely caused by the United States and its accomplices in their blatant contempt for international law.
This week, the United States and its British ally carried out over 100 cruise missile strikes against Yemen, purportedly in retaliation for Yemen’s blocking of commercial shipping in the Red Sea. The Yemenis claim that their actions to interdict shipping are legally entitled by their support for Palestinians suffering 90 days of genocidal aggression from Israel backed by the U.S.
Indeed, the Middle East powder-keg situation is set for an escalation towards an all-out region-wide war given the weeks of tensions caused by the U.S.-backed genocide in Gaza by Israel. American bases in Iraq and Syria have come under fire in retaliation for U.S. and Israeli assassinations of senior Palestinian and other Arab militant leaders. There is growing fear that the violence will spiral into an open armed confrontation between the United States and Iran.
Given this ferment of conflict, it seems incredible that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was effectively missing in action for several weeks without his nominal superior, Joe Biden, knowing of his whereabouts. Biden’s other title is Commander-in-Chief. In the supposed civilian command structure of the United States military, Austin is second to Biden. Among their supposed responsibilities is the command of U.S. nuclear forces.
Austin underwent surgery on December 22 for prostate cancer at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. A subsequent urinary tract infection then caused Austin to be hospitalized again on January 1 for several more days. It is not clear if he was always conscious during this period or under sedation.
It then transpired in recent days that during those weeks of absence, the Biden White House did not know about Austin’s surgery or subsequent hospitalization. Even Austin’s designated Deputy Secretary of Defense, Kathleen Hicks, also did not know the exact reason for her boss’s absence.
Enquiries have now been launched by the Armed Services Committees in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. There are even bipartisan calls for Austin’s resignation due to accusations of gross dereliction of duty to adequately inform the White House and Congress about his leave of absence.
It is being claimed by some lawmakers that Austin undermined U.S. national security by his lack of transparency in conduct and “inexcusable” vacancy. It would turn out hilarious – and not inconceivable – if Austin’s corporate contacts in his old employer at the missile-making firm Raytheon knew more about his surgery than did the White House. Such is the corruption in Washington these days, it seems.
Austin has contritely taken full responsibility for the scandal and has agreed to a Pentagon review in order to avoid any such future misunderstanding. At least in public, President Biden has said he has accepted the Pentagon’s chief apologies. That may change as more details emerge about the strange lack of communication and what appears to be Austin’s reluctance to make contingency plans for ultimate decision-making concerning vital matters of war and peace.
It seems all the more unconscionable at his juncture given that the United States is fueling conflict in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific with regard to China, and of course, let’s not forget, in Ukraine against Russia.
The United States is recklessly provoking armed confrontation in these geopolitical cauldrons – all of them involving the danger of nuclear weapons – and yet the highest civilian commander at the Pentagon goes missing in action for several days over secretive surgery. Again, to reiterate, the White House did not even know his condition or whereabouts. How would it pan out if there had been unverified reports that American or allied forces were coming under strategic-level attack? The absence of Austin would have no doubt exacerbated the alarm within an already trigger-happy U.S. military machine.
Combined with those concerns is the lack of confidence in Biden’s cognitive health as Commander-in-Chief.
The United States has proven itself to be a lawless rogue state when we consider the rampant support it is giving to the fascist Israeli and Kiev regimes. The latest air strikes on Yemen without any consultation with the United Nations Security Council only underline the rogue-state character of Washington.
It prompts a grave question mark about global security that the military commanders in the United States are not even in control of their office.
The U.S. imperial state out of geopolitical calculations about staving off its chronic decline as a global power has embarked on a crazed policy of inciting aggression and chaos in several parts of the world – simultaneously – in the Middle East, Europe and Asia-Pacific. This criminal, wanton conduct is endangering the entire world from a catastrophic escalation, even an accidental one.
Added to the U.S. criminality is the bureaucratic incompetence of its own military command.
It is becoming abundantly clear to people all around the world including to the citizens of the United States that the imperial state of the U.S. is increasingly holding the world hostage to its criminal machinations. It’s maniacally forcing the world to play Russian Roulette.
It’s not just Lloyd Austin – Mr Raytheon – that needs to be sacked. He’s just a walk-on cosplayer. The entire imperial ruling apparatus of the United States must be dismantled and decommissioned. And, furthermore, prosecuted for crimes against international peace.
Polish participation in the Nord Stream attack may be related to an American geopolitical project for Europe.
It increasingly seems clear that there was Western participation in the terrorist attack that destroyed the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines. As leaked by journalists and anonymous sources, the explosions were certainly caused by a secret American military operation involving Ukrainian proxy agents. Now, it is revealed that Polish authorities acted to prevent an investigation into the crime, which further substantiates the hypothesis of a NATO act – and also clarifies the real reasons for such attack.
The news was reported by the Wall Street Journal. According to the newspaper, Polish agents hid evidence and obstructed the investigation into the explosions. Journalists claim that the Warsaw authorities vetoed cooperation with the investigative team made up of Germany, Sweden and Denmark, and even prevented those suspected of involvement from being detained and interrogated on Polish soil.
For now, investigators’ main suspicion is that a team of Ukrainian saboteurs rented a yacht from a Polish company. It would be essential, in this sense, for the Polish police to collect testimony from the company’s employees and capture Ukrainian suspects on Poland’s territory. However, Warsaw boycotted the investigators’ work and barred important evidence from being collected.
Investigators still do not know whether the Polish government had an active role in the attack. Certainly, more detailed information about this will still take some time to be discovered. However, the obstruction of the investigations is solid evidence that, whether or not it participated in the operation, Poland is cooperating with the aggressor side.
In fact, it is necessary to analyze the case taking into account Seymour Hersh’s opinion. The American journalist, who was also the first to report U.S.’ responsibility for the attack, stated that Washington’s objective with the attack was to affect Germany, coercing Berlin to continue supporting Kiev and preventing the European country from prioritizing its own industrial interests.
“Biden’s timing seemed aimed at Chancellor [Olaf] Scholz. Some in the CIA believed that the president’s fear was that Scholz, whose constituents were lukewarm in their support for Ukraine, might waffle with winter coming on and conclude that keeping his people warm and his industries prosperous was more important than backing Ukraine against Russia”, he said.
In addition, we must remember that the U.S. has long had a plan to undermine German development. Being the European industrial heart, Germany is undoubtedly the country with the greatest material capacity to break the semi-colonial policy implemented by the U.S. in Europe. Berlin could, in partnership with France, form a kind of “European multipolar axis”, repositioning the continent in global geopolitics. Avoiding this kind of European “multipolar turn” is an American priority – and certainly the most viable way to achieve this goal is through the industrial neutralization of Germany.
Not by chance, Berlin is being led towards rapid deindustrialization. Without the energy partnership with the Russian Federation – and without nuclear development, hampered by the “green” paranoia -, Germany does not have the capacity to continue maintaining its previous industrial production levels. The country is being forced into an economic decline whose consequences are not limited to internal social problems but to a true paralysis of Europe’s geopolitical potential. In other words, without German industry, Europe is not able to become a “pole” of the multipolar world and remains submissive to American interests.
In this sense, the destruction of the gas pipelines appears to have been an American “checkmate” against Europe. By bombing Nord Stream 1 and 2, Washington made the end of German-Russian energy cooperation an unavoidable reality, ceasing to be a simple Germany’s political choice and becoming a material inevitability. Consequently, Europe no longer has the necessary resources to break away from the U.S. and become an independent bloc.
Neutralizing ties between Russia and Germany has always been the West’s greatest geopolitical ambition. According to the classical principles of geopolitics, the Russian-German rapprochement would represent a kind of “Hertland unification” and would create a bloc so powerful that it would put any U.S. expansionist intentions at risk. This explains why Washington has historically tried to keep the Germans and Russians apart – and why it is seeing the current moment as an opportunity to consolidate this process of Russian-German rupture.
However, it is not enough to simply generate scorched earth in Germany. Europe must continue to survive industrially so that American plans on the continent keep viable. It is more interesting for the U.S. to transfer Germany’s industrial core to another country than to simply throw the whole of Europe into an unprecedented social crisis – which could lead to uprisings and political changes. It is precisely at this point that the Polish factor must be considered.
According to some investigators, there is a current plan by the U.S. to transfer European industrial nucleus from Germany to Poland. The reasons would be many. Poland is less dependent on gas imports for its energy sovereignty. Given the high level of hostility towards Russia, the country had already been reducing its imports of Russian gas years before Western sanctions were implemented, which is why the impact on the Polish economy was smaller than on the German one. Furthermore, Poland is already becoming one of the main European industrial countries, having a big growthpotential that can be strategically managed.
There are obviously other factors that make Poland interesting for American plans in Europe. The country is seen as a more “reliable” and “stable” ally by the U.S. than Germany. Despite recently embracing anti-Russian paranoia, Germany has long been marked by a foreign policy of strong diplomacy with Moscow, mainly due to the so-called “Ostpolitik” doctrine. On the other hand, Poland was easily fanaticized by the historical revanchism encouraged by the West and is marked by advanced levels of Russophobia and even rehabilitation of Nazism.
Poland is more hostile to Russia than Germany, so it suits the U.S. that Warsaw occupies a more important role in Europe than Berlin. As the quickest way to destroy once and for all the potential of German industry was through the definitive end of energy cooperation with Russia, so the U.S. bombed the gas pipelines – and certainly had Polish support, as Warsaw is obviously also interested in increasing its economic and political status on the continent with American support.
More than that, these U.S. plans for Poland also help explain the recent crisis in relations between Warsaw and Kiev. As well known, Poland has moved away from Ukraine significantly in recent months. The main justifications are the massive entry of Ukrainian grains into Poland, damaging national agriculture, and the Ukrainian pro-Nazi ideology, which disrespects the history of the Polish people. However, this is a weak narrative. A simple economic problem is not enough to unbalance good relations in the political and military sphere – and, in the same sense, Warsaw never really cared about the Ukrainian Nazi problem, which in fact also exists in Poland itself.
It seems that there may have been some type of communication at a high political level for the Poles to reduce their participation in Ukraine. In its heightened Russophobic paranoia, the Polish government was making hasty decisions in the conflict, significantly increasing its interventionism. The Polish-Ukrainian borders were completely opened to facilitate the flow of NATO weapons and mercenaries, creating a kind of “de facto confederation”. Meanwhile, the expansionist agenda was advanced in Warsaw, which aimed to retake Polish-majority territories in Ukraine through military invasions disguised as “peacekeeping missions” in the Western region of the country.
The Russian government at the time made it clear that any Polish intervention would be considered a violation of red line, subject to serious retaliation. Clearly, the situation could escalate into a conflict involving Russia and Poland – and the U.S. does not want that, both because it would put NATO’s “collective security” clause to the test, and because it would harm American plans to change the European economic-industrial structure. The U.S. apparently wants Poland free from the consequences of the conflict – at least for now. So, NATO’s advisers certainly planned Polish-Ukrainian diplomatic estrangement.
As we can see, there seem to be deep reasons why Poland wants to hide those responsible for the terrorist attack against the gas pipelines. Even if Warsaw had no direct participation, it certainly cooperated to harm Germany and increase its own geopolitical relevance – otherwise Radoslaw Sikorski would certainly not have publicly thanked the U.S. for the attack.

El bloqueo económico ha obligado a Rusia a promover activamente su sistema de pagos nacional, SPFS, introducido por primera vez cuando Estados Unidos impuso sanciones al país en 2014, como alternativa al Swift. El sistema, que facilita la mensajería financiera entre bancos a escala nacional e internacional, tuvo 514 participantes, incluidas 131 entidades extranjeras de 15 países, en el primer semestre del año pasado.
Tanto Irán como Rusia son víctimas de las sanciones ilegales impuestas por las potencias occidentales. Los dos países anunciaron por primera vez planes para eliminar el dólar y el euro de los acuerdos mutuos y utilizar sistemas financieros alternativos en su comercio en 2022.
