Ce processus est également relativement peu coûteux. Le National Research Council estime qu’un programme IAS entièrement déployé coûterait environ 10 milliards de dollars par an. »^[5]

Chaque épisode météorologique exceptionnel (ou présenté comme tel) est désormais le prétexte à une mobilisation intense de l’opinion publique. Une mobilisation cognitive qui se déploie au travers de tous les canaux médiatiques disponibles. La science météorologique^[9] est ainsi à son tour enrégimentée pour les besoins de la cause globaliste et ne laisse aucun répit à l’esprit public qui est censé passer (« switcher ») d’une peur à une autre, d’une anxiété à une autre. Les sociétaires sont ainsi ballotés entre un état de fébrilité anxieuse et un état de stupeur aphasique sous le poids de l’« éco-anxiété » et de la culpabilité climatique. Une culpabilité qui est censée remplacer la place du péché originel dans le cœur de l’habitant athée de Cosmopolis, la termitière globale, véritable prolétaire contemporain en sursis sanitaire, économique et climatique constant.

C’est la nouvelle norme de la « politique panique » qui s’est progressivement installée en Occident depuis la fin du XX° siècle et qui devient aujourd’hui exacerbée et discontinue. La peur climatique succède ainsi (pour l’instant) aux deux années de peur virologique avec laquelle l’humanité fut tenue en laisse courte par la « Davocratie ». Peur virale qui succédait elle-même aux années précédentes, quand l’esprit public était cadenassé par l’urgence terroriste et les massacres de masse à répétition.

Nous ne traiterons pas ici de la thématique du réchauffement climatique en tant que tel, ce sera peut-être l’occasion d’un futur travail spécifique^[10]. Comme nous l’avons déjà longuement exposé en ce qui concerne les questions sanitaires ou de démographie politique^[11], qu’il soit avéré ou pas, durable ou passager, d’origine anthropique ou non, le prétexte du réchauffement climatique est utilisé afin d’enrôler l’ensemble de la société pour la remodeler selon l’agenda cosmopolitique-cybernétique de la Quatrième révolution techno-industrielle^[12] et de sa Grande réinitialisation. Comme pour ce qui relève des pandémies, le climat devient ici le prétexte idéal pour imposer de manière globale et dans l’urgence, des changements sociaux et politiques radicaux qu’il serait en temps normal impossible d’imposer à une si grande échelle.

Le dérèglement climatique ou les pandémies constituent des ennemis extérieurs et supranationaux qui permettent de maintenir la société dans l’état de tension et de « stress » nécessaire au passage d’une étape à une autre de l’agenda globaliste. Le réchauffement climatique représente ainsi l’ennemi mondial idéal pour renforcer le projet de gouvernance mondiale intégrée. Face à un ennemi sans frontières comme le réchauffement climatique, la réponse ne peut qu’être que globale, supranationale et supra-étatique.

Au vu de cette instrumentalisation de la question climatique par le discours et la praxis globaliste, nous nous pencherons d’abord ici sur des questions d’ordre technique : existe-t-il des moyens technologiques d’influer sur la météo et/ou le climat ? Si oui, ces moyens sont-ils déjà employés et ont-ils ou peuvent-ils avoir un impact effectif et significatif ?

Est-il possible qu’un épisode long de sécheresse ou à l’inverse des pluies anormalement intenses ou même des tempêtes puissent être générés de manière artificielle et être ainsi employés comme les vecteurs tactiques et furtifs d’une véritable guerre invisible ? C’est ce que nous allons tenter de savoir ici.

Guerre hors limites et guerre climatique

La présente étude traite des aspects techniques et historiques de la question des armes météorologiques et du contrôle climatique. Nous poursuivons ici notre travail d’investigation sur les différents aspects de la forme politique globaliste : idéologique, technologique, géopolitique, culturel, philosophique, spirituel etc. Un projet qui constitue selon nous la réalité politique la plus importante de notre temps. Réalité fondamentale mais occultée par son action furtive sur les sociétés contemporaines. Une emprise certes occultée mais discernable et donc identifiable.

Le fil conducteur, la trame maîtresse, qui guide nos investigations successives sur ce thème reste la même que dans nos travaux précédents, comprendre et désigner l’ennemi politique stratégique de la France et de la civilisation chrétienne : le globalisme politique.

Pour un auteur qui est un classique de la pensée stratégique, le Général A. Beaufre, la stratégie est d’abord une « dialectique des volontés » dans laquelle « la décision est un événement d’ordre psychologique que l’on veut produire chez l’adversaire pour le convaincre qu’engager ou poursuivre la lutte est devenue inutile »^[13]. Or, le problème pour les opposants – ou les simples réticents – au projet globaliste réside dans le fait que, face à un adversaire indéterminé qui dissimule habilement son hégémonie, nous sommes plongés dans une situation mortifère d’attente stratégique. Une situation qui nous empêche de réagir de manière consciente, coordonnée et politique avec la force sociale et physique nécessaire pour contrer ou au moins freiner la guerre éclair par étapes qui est menée contre les populations par l’impérialisme globaliste.

Si l’on considère que le critère axial du politique^[14] est constitué par la désignation de l’ennemi, nous sommes ici confrontés à un ennemi qui se dérobe à notre prise ; car les globalistes politiques refusent de se présenter comme guidés par une volonté de puissance et de domination. Il n’existe dès lors selon nous qu’un seul moyen efficace pour identifier clairement l’ennemi mondialiste : analyser et scruter ses actions et ses méthodes pour comprendre (et peut-être anticiper) ses actions. C’est ce que nous faisons à nouveau dans cette étude avec la question de la guerre climatique comme nous l’avons précédemment fait avec celle du néo-malthusianisme, des « armes d’immigration massive », de la manipulation des droits de l’homme ou encore des « révolutions de couleurs ».

Nous allons voir qu’en matière de guerre climatique, comme pour les autres pans de l’action métapolitique globaliste, l’accusation de complotisme ne constitue qu’une façade bien fragile qui ne résiste pas à l’analyse. Cette diversion sémantique martelée de manière orwellienne, constitue l’habituelle barrière psychopolitique que les globalistes politiques tentent d’ériger entre le grand public et la réalité de l’existence des technologies de géo-ingénierie et de contrôle climatique.

Ces technologies relèvent pour nous de cette nouvelle norme sociopolitique qui accompagne la montée en puissance de la forme globalitaire (globaliste et totalitaire) : l’extension de la guerre à toutes choses et la fin de la limite, de la frontière, entre guerre et paix, entre civil et militaire, entre géopolitique et « métropolitique ».

Par métropolitique, l’urbaniste et polémologue Paul Virilio conceptualisait l’idée que la guerre moderne était désormais sortie des limites de la géopolitique des nations et de la guerre classique : le champ de bataille contemporain se déplace et gagne aujourd’hui l’ensemble de la ville-monde contemporaine, Cosmopolis.

Mais il ne s’agit pas seulement pour nous d’un phénomène qui serait dû à la seule évolution des techniques et des moyens de transport et de communication contemporains, il s’agit bien d’un phénomène politique. Ainsi, à mesure que progresse l’intégration cosmopolitique promue par les instances et les décideurs de la gouvernance globale, dans le même temps, l’ordre politique international se dilue toujours plus en une forme de guerre civile mondialisée qui touche tous les aspects de l’existence.^[15]

Nous pensons que cette extension de la guerre à toutes choses est donc en partie structurelle et en partie volontaire. Nous ne sommes ici ni complotiste, ni structuraliste mais résolument intentionnaliste. Nous étudions et analysons les intentions et les mobiles des acteurs du choc des puissances et des relations internationales.Nos travaux nous amènent à penser que les globalistes politiques ont un projet pour l’ensemble de l’humanité et même pour l’ensemble du vivant (transhumanisme et écoglobalisme). Nous assistons les yeux grands ouverts à la montée de la plus formidable poussée de totalitarisme de l’histoire humaine.

Dans ce projet d’hégémonie totale, le contrôle climatique joue un rôle fondamental. Nous allons découvrir au fil de cette étude que des concepts connus et étudiés par les stratégistes militaires comme la guerre météorologique, la guerre géophysique ou encore la guerre mésologique, sont des dimensions cruciales du champ de bataille universel de la guerre hors limites que mènent les globalistes politiques et de l’hégémonie métropolitique qu’ils entendent exercer et maintenir. Doku-Reihe “CORONA.film”

Die Suche nach Hintergründen einer künstlich aufgebauschten Gesundheitskrise

Vor knapp zweieinhalb Jahren präsentierte der Filmemacher Robert Cibis seine Dokumentation «CORONA.film – Prologue». Wie der Titel bereits zu verstehen gibt, handelte es sich um eine Einführung in einen Themenkomplex, der zu jenem Zeitpunkt infolge einer schweren Gesundheits- und Gesellschaftskrise noch den Alltag bestimmte. Es war ein kritischer Blick auf die Maßnahmen-Politik, mit dem Versuch, jenseits offizieller Narrative zu ihrem Kern vorzudringen. Cibis setzte bereits einige thematische Schwerpunkte, warf Fragen auf und formulierte das Erkenntnisinteresse: Was steckt dahinter? Worum geht es wirklich in der Corona-Krise. Seitdem hat er fleißig weiterrecherchiert und gefilmt. Er hat mit Menschen gesprochen, Informationen ausgewertet und Linien verbunden. Das Ergebnis liegt nun in dem eigentlichen «CORONA.film».

Genau genommen handelt es sich nicht um einen Dokumentarfilm, sondern um eine -Reihe, bestehend aus vier Teilen. Die ersten beiden sind schon auf dem Portal von OVALmedia streambar. Die restlichen erscheinen demnächst im wöchentlichen Rhythmus. In seiner Machart ist der «CORONA.film» recht konventionell, allerdings ruhiger im Ton und keineswegs so effektheischend wie beispielsweise die US-Produktion «Died Suddenly». Cibis schöpft aus reichhaltigem Archivmaterial, montiert Szenen aus öffentlich ausgestrahlten Sendungen und blendet Auszüge aus privaten Videos ein. Zwischendurch kommen unterschiedliche Menschen zu Wort – Mediziner, Wissenschaftler, Leidtragende oder deren Rechtsanwälte. Die meisten Beiträge kommen von dem Internisten und ehemaligen SPD-Abgeordneten Wolfgang Wodarg, der gleichsam als ordnende und kommentierende Instanz fungiert. Seine Aussagen sind das Movens des Dokumentarfilms, weil in ihnen zugleich die Erklärungen für die Vorgänge während der Corona-Krise mitschwingen.

Gleich der erste Teil der Reihe widmet sich der Frage, warum die Todeszahlen gerade in den ersten Wochen der angeblichen Pandemie so hoch ausfielen, kurz darauf aber abflachten, bis sie mit der Impfkampagne wieder stiegen. Die Antwort darauf liegt in der zu hohen Dosierung des Medikaments Hydroxychloroquin. Die Patienten mit einer Pneumonie seien falsch behandelt worden, so Wodarg. Gleiches gelte für Fälle, in denen Ärzte auf andere Medikamente gesetzt hätten, auf solche wie Remdesivir. An dieser Stelle erinnert der Film an den Schweizer Arzt Paracelsus, der einst sagte, dass die Dosis das Gift mache. Nachdem die Fehler erkannt worden seien, so Wodarg weiter, hätten die Verantwortlichen die Therapie klammheimlich gestoppt, ohne jedoch das Narrativ zu ändern, dass es sich um ein tödliches Virus handle.

Wer von dem gesteigerten Medikamenten-Einsatz profitierte, waren die Pharmaunternehmen. Der Film verweist darauf, indem er mehrere Puzzleteile miteinander verbindet. Er verweist auf das Pandemieplanspiel Event 201, auf einflussreiche Akteure im Gesundheitssektor sowie auf die Verflechtung privater und staatlicher Institutionen. Wodarg lässt dabei seine Erfahrungen als ehemaliger Politiker und als einer der Protagonisten einfließen, die die Schweinegrippe-Pandemie 2009 als Schwindel entlarvten. Die politische Struktur wird von internationalen Unternehmen zunehmend ausgehöhlt – das ist der Subtext, der sich durch alle vier Teile der Dokumentation zieht. Cibis setzt dieses Leitmotiv geschickt mit dem Auszug einer Rede Salvador Allendes im Jahr 1972.

Der damalige chilenische Präsident warnte bei einer UNO-Versammlung vor der wachsenden Macht internationaler Konzerne und machte sie für die „gewaltigen Ungerechtigkeiten“ verantwortlich. Später wurde Allende von dem General Augusto Pinochet gestürzt, mit Hilfe der USA, wo internationale Unternehmen schon damals den Ton angaben. Wurde die Kritik an dem Einfluss dieser Konzerne Allende zum Verhängnis? Die Antwort darauf lässt Cibis offen, kontextualisiert sie aber im vierten Teil mit der Ermordung John F. Kennedys. Derartige Anspielungen sind ein wesentliches Merkmal des Films. Cibis liefert durchaus Erklärungen, baut jedoch auch Leerstellen ein, damit die Zuschauer selber nach Zusammenhängen suchen. Jene Anspielungen sollen ihnen lediglich den Weg weisen, sie anstoßen und stimulieren.

Die mächtige Industrie nimmt unter anderem auf die Bürokraten in Brüssel Einfluss. Darum geht es vor allem in dem zweiten Teil der Doku-Reihe. Thematisch dreht er sich um die wachsende Bedeutung von Gesundheitsdaten. Wer in ihrem Besitz ist, wird zukünftig in der Lage sein, den menschlichen Organismus zu hacken. Gestützt wird diese These mit Aussagen des israelischen Historikers Yuval Noah Hariri zur Entwicklung eines Phänomens, das unter dem Namen Transhumanismus firmiert. In diesem Kontext werden die Bedeutung des Corona-Tests und die Rolle des deutschen Virologen Christian Drosten beleuchtet. Dieser hat bekanntlich mit Olfert Landt zusammengearbeitet, einem Berliner Biochemiker, dessen Firma Millionen von Corona-Tests verkaufte.

Steht hier der Aspekt der institutionellen Korruption zur Debatte, konzentriert sich der dritte Teil auf die Corona-Impfung, indem er deren Risiken und die durch sie verursachten Schäden thematisiert. Abgeschlossen wird die Doku-Reihe mit einem Blick auf die Schicksale der Opfer, die bis heute gegen bürokratische Mühlen kämpfen. Es ist zweifellos der emotionalste Teil. Die Erfahrungsberichte enthalten Ungeheuerlichkeiten, die den Atem stocken lassen. Sie veranschaulichen, dass es den Verantwortlichen weniger um Gesundheit und Aufklärung geht als um Macht und Profite. Beispielhaft dafür steht die oberste EU-Kommissarin Ursula von der Leyen, mit der jeder der vier Teile beginnt. Sie soll maßgeblich für den Kauf von Pfizer-Impfstoffen in Höhe von 35 Milliarden Euro verantwortlich sein. Die Details dieses Deals wurden jedoch nicht öffentlich gemacht. Heute weiß man aus geleakten Verträgen, dass es zu dem Zeitpunkt keinerlei Erkenntnisse gab – weder zur Wirksamkeit des mRNA-Impfstoffs noch zu den Nebenwirkungen und Langzeitfolgen.

Zum Schluss wird eine kurze Passage aus George Orwells Klassiker «1984» eingeblendet, die diese Art der institutionellen Korruption quasi kommentiert und in verdichteter Form durchblicken lässt, wo die Ursachen für die Corona-Krise zu suchen sind:

„Eine hierarchische Gesellschaftsordnung ist nur möglich auf Grundlage von Armut und Unwissenheit … Krieg wird immer nur geführt von der herrschenden Klasse gegen die eigenen Untergebenen. Sein Ziel besteht nicht darin, über Eurasien oder Ostasien zu siegen, sondern die Gesellschaftsstruktur zu bewahren.“

Who Is Running the U.S.? Foreign Policy in Freefall in Ukraine and Middle East

The problem for Zelensky is the crisis of confidence in his narrative now, as he is the only one who believes a victory for Ukraine is possible.

The decision by Congress to block Biden’s 50 billion dollar request for aid to Ukraine is a pivotal moment both in his first term as president and in Zelensky’s. Are both men looking at being ejected from office over the shocking racket, otherwise known as the Ukraine war? Experts like George Szamuely argue that the temporary cessation of crazy spending will resume itself in January once Republican Senators get their way over border security, but even so, what is believed to be a once-and-for-all aid deal in the coming weeks doesn’t bode well for Biden, Zelensky or the West’s position in Ukraine. When the Ukrainian president had to fly back to Kiev with only a token 200m dollar cheque in his top pocket, many pundits, even in the West, speculated that America’s days as chief financier were over; some even went further and argued that Zelensky is now a dead man walking and that hopes for him to cling on to power were no longer realistic.

The problem for Zelensky is the crisis of confidence in his narrative now, as he is the only one who believes a victory for Ukraine is possible. Even his commander in chief, Valery Zaluzhny, is openly sceptical now of winning at all, on any level and talks despondently about the war. Zaluzhny is openly critical of Zelensky which, in itself, is a bad sign for Ukrainians who note that it was Zelensky who gave him the job in the first place. But if your commander-in-chief doesn’t believe in the project anymore, then what are the chances of the men fighting for you will step up to the mark?

Wars are won on full stomachs but also on belief in leaders. If confidence is waning at the top, there is no hope whatsoever of any victory as the war is lost before even one bullet is discharged. The looks on the faces of the 55-year old latest army conscripts who were treated to a Marilyn Monroe type performance by a voluptuous singer recently – doing the rounds on social media – spoke volumes. They looked cynical, troubled and even scared.

It is an oversimplified argument to present that Zelensky is the problem and that if he were to stand down, a new leader might create the environment for a peace settlement of some sort. But it is actually correct. For Biden it’s a no-brainer. Zelensky is really blocking the way for a solution so he can keep face in the U.S. when he starts campaigning. Awkwardly, this will start more or less in June when NATO will have its 75^th birthday. Biden’s people might be fretting now as to how to fake the entire event and present NATO as a winner. But even Houdini couldn’t get out of this conundrum if Ukraine is still stuck with Zelensky and his fantasy of a victory over Russia. Given the delays in stocking the Ukrainian army, the radical reduction in actual cash and kit being sent from the U.S. and European arms manufacturers scrambling to make fast cash in Israel – like Germany – it’s hard to imagine how he can keep up a political patina of confidence as a leader when Ukrainians are suffering and worry that the worst is yet to come.

Ukraine’s air defences are almost depleted. Its army is dysfunctional at best and the signs of desperation are becoming more obvious each day to Ukrainians who see young men being forcefully arrested and taken from hospitals and old men being rounded up. Even women, some pregnant, have found themselves the victims of these press gangs who have put them in uniform and sent them to the battle. There’s no cash, no ammo and no will. It’s an abysmal state of apathy, defeat and delusional thinking. And no one is more delusional than Zelensky himself. Even after returning to the Ukraine from Washington he is still talking a good talk about how Ukraine can defeat Russia, adding that all he needs is 100 billion dollars more and 500,000 men.

The truth is that even if he had this, time is all it would buy him. And this is really the issue now with his presidency. The racket of taking cash and military equipment from the West and selling it on the black market, exposed in great depth by my recent investigation, is running out. One of the reasons – from many – why Zelensky dreams of winning in Ukraine are so out of touch with reality is that probably only about 30% of all NATO kit is making it to the battlefield. Zelensky allows his cabal of ministers and senior military officials to enrich themselves with this scam so that they all can siphon off scores of millions of dollars each month while they are paid a laughable 3,000 USD a month salary. Zelensky himself is probably part of this racket but this business is really about his survival. To keep all those ministers and military figures on his side and protect him, he has to allow them to take their cut.

The problem now he has, is that it’s only a matter of time before this group realises that the only way they can continue to milk the system for their own gains is to look at a different business model. If Zelensky is lucky, some of them will simply leave the county and enjoy the money they’ve stashed. But greed is a factor here. Many will prefer to stay and see how to adjust their activities to a new set up.

That new set up is obvious. It is a formal or informal armistice with Russia where the EU moves in with the reconstruction cash, probably several hundred billion dollars, which is then redirected to their own coffers. Ukrainian politicians have been doing this for decades and so they will hit the ground running when that moment comes, with fake NGOs and all the various construction companies already in place and part of their murky complot. And so even for Zelensky’s own people, he will be seen as part of the problem and not the solution as he carries on with this “we can win…really we can” narrative. The options aren’t good. Even if a second tranche of say 20bn dollars, as a last package, is agreed by Congress, it is likely that most of this military equipment will be sent to Libya and sold by the scramble of those who see the end coming and want their last cut to the biggest before the abyss comes.

Rumours in the U.S. that he has already got an agreement in place with the U.S. for citizenship and protection in Florida may well be true as when the moment comes he will need to flee very quickly as the last thing Biden wants is for the Russians to capture him and get him to sign a treaty. In the meantime, Biden has other problems troubling his dwindling brain. He has bought into the idea of taking on the Houthis in the Red Sea will be a quick fix solution to his problems in Gaza, as even humble blue colour workers in the U.S. begin to understand that the U.S. is backing a genocide, along with international and U.S. media, a number of key U.S. allies around the world. And Hollywood. Sleepy Joe thought that CNN footage of some Houthi military hardware being blown out of the sky would be just the ticket for a good distraction and a way of scoring points with hawks on both sides of the house who need their Iran fix every now and again. Of course, as a dim-witted Sky News ‘expert’ in the UK recently pointed out, this would mean starting a war with Iran. The delusional thinking is terrifying, given how vulnerable U.S. forces are in the region. But the rank stupidity takes your breath away. Pity dumb Americans. All they have is money. The race is on between Biden’s full on dementia setting in and an American aircraft carrier being sunk in these treacherous waters.

Genocidal Settler colonial states have a terminal shelf life. Israel is no exception.

Israel may well appear triumphant if it ever finishes its genocidal campaign in Gaza and the West Bank. 

Backed by the United States, it may achieve its demented goal. Its murderous rampages and genocidal violence can exterminate or ethnically cleanse many Palestinians. 

Its dream of a state exclusively for Jews, with any Palestinians who remain stripped of basic rights, may be realized.

It would revel in its blood-soaked victory . Celebrate its war criminals. 

Its genocide will be erased from public consciousness and tossed into Israel’s huge black hole of historical amnesia. Those with a conscience in Israel will be silenced and persecuted.

But by the time Israel achieves its decimation of Gaza — Israel is talking about months of warfare — it will have signed its own long term death sentence.

Its facade of civility, its supposed vaunted respect for the rule of law and democracy, its mythical story of the courageous Israeli military and miraculous birth of the Jewish nation, will lie in ash heaps.

Israel’s social capital will be spent. It will be revealed as an ugly, repressive, hate-filled apartheid regime, alienating younger generations of American Jews.

Its patron, the United States, as new generations come into power, will distance itself from Israel the way it is distancing itself from Ukraine.

Its popular support, already eroded in the U.S., will come from America’s Christianized fascists who see Israel’s domination of ancient Biblical land as a harbinger of the Second Coming and in its subjugation of Arabs a kindred racism and white supremacy. 

Palestinian blood and suffering — 10 times the number of children have been killed in Gaza as in two years of war in Ukraine — will pave the road to Israel’s oblivion.

The tens, perhaps hundreds, of thousands of ghosts will have their revenge. Israel will become synonymous with its victims the way Turks are synonymous with the Armenians, Germans are with the Namibians and later the Jews, and Serbs are with the Bosniaks.

Israel’s cultural, artistic, journalistic and intellectual life will be exterminated. Israel will be a stagnant nation where the religious fanatics, bigots and Jewish extremists who have seized power will dominate public discourse. 

It will find its allies among other despotic regimes. Israel’s repugnant racial and religious supremacy will be its defining attribute, which is why the most retrograde white supremists in the U.S. and Europe, including philo-semites such as John Hagee, Paul Gosar and Marjorie Taylor Greene, fervently back Israel.

The vaunted fight against anti-Semitism is a now just a thinly disguised celebration of White Power.

Despotisms can exist long after their past due date. But they are terminal.

You don’t have to be a Biblical scholar to see that Israel’s lust for rivers of blood is antithetical to the core values of Judaism.

The cynical weaponization of the Holocaust, including branding Palestinians as Nazis, has little efficacy when you carry out a live streamed genocide against 2.3 million people trapped in a concentration camp.

Nations need more than force to survive. They need a mystique. This mystique provides purpose, civility and even nobility to inspire citizens to sacrifice for the nation. The mystique offers hope for the future. It provides meaning. It provides national identity. 

When mystiques implode, when they are exposed as lies, a central foundation of state power collapses. I reported on the death of the communist mystiques in 1989 during the revolutions in East Germany, Czechoslovakia and Romania.

The Fall of the Soviet Union

The police and the military decided there was nothing left to defend. Israel’s decay will engender the same lassitude and apathy.

It will not be able to recruit indigenous collaborators, such as Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority — reviled by most Palestinians — to do the bidding of the colonizers.

The historian Ronald Robinson cites the inability to recruit indigenous allies by the British Empire as the point at which collaboration inverted into noncooperation, a defining moment for the start of decolonization.

Once noncooperation by native elites morphs into active opposition, Robinson explains, the Empire’s “rapid retreat” is assured. 

All Israel has left is escalating violence, including torture, which accelerates the decline.

This wholesale violence works in the short term, as it did in the war waged by the French in Algeria, the Dirty War waged by Argentina’s military dictatorship and during Britain’s conflict in Northern Ireland. But in the long term it is suicidal.

“You might say that the battle of Algiers was won through the use of torture,” the British historian Alistair Horne observed, “but that the war, the Algerian war, was lost.”

The genocide in Gaza has turned Hamas fighters into heroes in the Muslim world and the Global South.

Israel may wipe out the Hamas leadership. But the past — and current — assassinations of scores of Palestinian leaders has done little to blunt resistance.

The siege and genocide in Gaza has produced a new generation of deeply traumatized and enraged young men and women whose families have been killed and whose communities have been obliterated.

They are prepared to take the place of martyred leaders. Israel has sent the stock of its adversary into the stratosphere.

Israel was at war with itself before Oct. 7. Israelis were protesting to prevent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s abolition of judicial independence.

Its religious bigots and fanatics, currently in power, had mounted a determined attack on Israeli secularism. Israel’s unity since the attacks is precarious.

It is a negative unity. It is held together by hatred. And even this hatred is not enough to keep protestors from decrying the government’s abandonment of Israeli hostages in Gaza.

The mask is being lifted from the face of Israel’s apartheid state, exposing a grinning death’s head that portends the obliteration of the few restraints against killing Palestinians.

Hatred is a dangerous political commodity. Once finished with one enemy, those who stoke hatred go in search of another. The Palestinian “human animals,” when eradicated or subdued, will be replaced by Jewish apostates and traitors.

The demonized group can never be redeemed or cured. A politics of hatred creates a permanent instability that is exploited by those seeking the destruction of civil society.

Israel was far down this road on Oct. 7 when it promulgated a series of discriminatory laws against non-Jews that resemble the racist Nuremberg Laws that disenfranchised Jews in Nazi Germany.

The Communities Acceptance Law permits exclusively Jewish settlements to bar applicants for residency on the basis of “suitability to the community’s fundamental outlook.” 

Many of Israel’s best educated and young have left the country to places like Canada, Australia and the U.K., with as many as one million moving to the United States. Even Germany has seen an influx of around 20,000 Israelis in the first two decades of this century.

Around 470,000 Israelis have left the country since Oct. 7.

The Israeli educational system is now an indoctrination machine for the military.

The Israeli scholar Yeshayahu Leibowitz warned that if Israel did not separate church and state and end its occupation of the Palestinians, it would give rise to a corrupt Rabbinate that would warp Judaism into a fascistic cult.

“Israel,” he said, “would not deserve to exist, and it will not be worthwhile to preserve it.”

The global mystique of the U.S., after two decades of disastrous wars in the Middle East and the assault on the Capitol on Jan. 6, is as contaminated as its Israeli ally.

The Biden administration, in its fervor to unconditionally support Israel and appease the powerful Israel lobby, has bypassed the congressional review process with the Department of State to approve the transfer of 14,000 rounds of tank ammunition to Israel.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken argued that “an emergency exists that requires the immediate sale.” At the same time he has cynically called on Israel to minimize civilian casualties.

Israel has no intention of minimizing civilian casualties.

It has already killed 18,800 Palestinians, 0.82 percent of the Gazan population — the equivalent of around 2.7 million Americans. Another 51,000 have been wounded.

Half of Gaza’s population is starving, according to the U.N. All Palestinian institutions and services that sustain life — hospitals (only 11 out of 36 hospitals in Gaza are still “partially functioning”), water treatment plants, power grids, sewer systems, housing, schools, government buildings, cultural centers, telecommunications systems, mosques, churches, U.N. food distribution points — have been destroyed.

Israel has assassinated at least 80 Palestinian journalists alongside dozens of their family members and over 130 U.N. aid workers along with members of their families. Civilian casualties are the point.

This is not a war against Hamas. It is a war against the Palestinians. The objective is to kill or remove 2.3 million Palestinians from Gaza.

The shooting dead of three Israeli hostages who apparently escaped their captors and approached Israeli forces with their shirts off, waving a white flag and calling out for help in Hebrew is not only tragic, but a glimpse of Israel’s rules of engagement in Gaza. These rules are — kill anything that moves.

As the retired Israeli Major General Giora Eiland, who formerly headed the Israeli National Security Council, wrote in Yedioth Ahronoth, “[T]he State of Israel has no choice but to turn Gaza into a place that is temporarily or permanently impossible to live in…

Creating a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza is a necessary means to achieve the goal.” “Gaza will become a place where no human being can exist,” he wrote.

Major General Ghassan Alian declared that in Gaza, “there will be no electricity and no water, there will only be destruction. You wanted hell; you will get hell.” 

Settler colonial states that endure, including the United States, exterminate through diseases and violence nearly the entirety of their indigenous populations.

Infectious diseases brought by the colonizers to the Americas, such as smallpox, killed an estimated 56 million indigenous people over about 100 years in South, Central and North America.

By 1600 less than a tenth of the original population remained. Israel cannot kill on this scale, with nearly 5.5 million Palestinians living under occupation and another 9 million in the diaspora.

The Biden presidency, which ironically may have signed its own political death certificate, is tethered to Israel’s genocide.

It will try to distance itself rhetorically, but at the same time it will funnel the billions of dollars of weapons demanded by Israel — including $14.3 billion in supplemental military aid to augment the $3.8 billion in annual aid — to “finish the job.”

It is a full partner in Israel’s genocide project.

Israel is a pariah state. This was publically on display on Dec. 12 when 153 member states at the U.N. General Assembly voted for a ceasefire, with only 10 — including the U.S. and Israel — opposed and 23 abstaining.

Israel’s scorched earth campaign in Gaza means there will be no peace. There will be no two state solution. Apartheid and genocide will define Israel.

This presages a long, long conflict, one the Jewish State cannot ultimately win.

Let us have tears to our eyes in solidarity with the People of Palestine, in building a Christmas mass movement Worldwide, which confronts the ongoing mass slaughter before our very eyes.

Let us also recall The Christmas Truce of 1914, 109 years ago this Christmas Eve:

Jesus was a Palestinian Jew born in Bethlehem. He grew up in Nazareth and was executed as a criminal in Jerusalem. It is because of him that we celebrate Christmas. But it is in spite of him that what we celebrate is the opposite of what he stood for.

The different stories of his birth, told by Mathew and Luke in the New Testament, which are the bases for Christmas, are not filled with sugar plum fairies and sleighs filled with useless, unnecessary consumer goods. There’s nothing about a Jolly Old St. Nicholas or baked ham or candy canes. No gifts to return in a frenzied rush that replicates their purchase. No credit card bills that come due in the new year. No “Jingle Bell Rock” with Brenda Lee or “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby.

Just a poor child’s birth to fulfill a prophecy that out of life would come death and out of death would come life. That hope was improbable but possible with faith.

These birth narratives, which tell of a nativity that concludes with the grown child’s suffering, public crucifixion, death, and Resurrection – a story that lives on with the suffering of so many innocents – are, as Gary Wills puts it in What the Gospels Meant, “. . . far from feel-good stories. They tell of a family outcast and exiled, hunted and rejected. They tell of children killed, of a sword to pierce the mother’s heart, of a judgment on the nations.”  They are stories of rejection, massacre, and a desperate flight from death at an early age.  They are not what most people now consider to be the essence of Christmas since a radical Palestinian Jew’s story has been almost totally erased by the glitz and greed of getting and spending to fuel an economy geared for war and killing.

Mathew and Luke’s birth narratives are replicated again and again throughout history, presently and most conspicuously in Gaza and the West Bank, as the massacre of the innocents continues under today’s King Herod, Benjamin Netanyahu, the client king of Washington, not Rome, while U.S. politicians, including Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who claims to be a defender of children and opposed to U.S. war policies, support this genocide with rhetorical justifications that the Trappist monk Thomas Merton called the unspeakable:

It is the void that contradicts everything that is spoken even before the words are said; the void that gets into the language of public and official declarations at the very moment when they are pronounced, and makes them ring dead with the hollowness of the abyss.  It is the void out of which Eichmann drew the punctilious exactitude of his obedience . . .

To the shock of so many of Kennedy’s early supporters, he claims, among other unspeakable assertions, that the Israelis have been the innocent victims of the Palestinians for 75 years, and they “could flatten Gaza” if they chose to, but instead have kindly used high-tech explosives “to avoid civilian casualties”; that they are not committing genocide intentionally. Indeed, his defense of the indefensible Israeli war crimes is widely shared by the compromised political leadership of both parties in Washinton, D.C., a place Kennedy is hoping to reach as the top of the heap, but he is contradicting all his talk about spiritual renewal and healing the divide, and it is especially galling and hypocritical as we try to celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace.

While the genocide of Palestinians is being documented every ongoing day now, the Gospel stories are different in that they were written after the fact and were not based on eyewitness testimony but are narratives of deep symbolic faith significance, historically wrong in places, but told to signify religious truths of the early Christian faith community.

Once there was a mother and father with their child on the run to safety in Egypt; today there are millions of Palestinian refugees on a bombed-out unarmed road of flight to nowhere but a dead-end.

A few days ago my wife and I were caring for our son’s two dogs. Down the hill as night came on, the town set off fireworks – those bombs bursting in air (Oh how lovely is war!) – to celebrate and encourage people to buy holiday gifts, what can only fairly be described as acquisitive consumer madness that many realize yet have accepted as an essential part of the Christmas message. As the fireworks exploded loudly, the dogs started to quake uncontrollably and we had to hold them tight to comfort them.

Yes, they are animals, but sentient animals with deep feelings; and yes, they are not children in Gaza quivering in fear as the Israelis bomb them night and day in savage attacks. But as we held those frightened dogs, feeling their hearts beat fast as they gasped for breath, the visceral sense of what those Palestinians must be feeling, as they hold their trembling children who are butchered as useless objects, overwhelmed me. As they are “thinned out,” as Netanyahu is reported to have said, I felt sick at heart to be living safely in a country that finances and supports such slaughter. A country in which buying and selling is the real religion, people have become commodities, and Christmas has become the celebration of such grotesqueries.

I keep thinking of the difference between human beings and things; life and death; money and power; acquisitiveness and poverty; and, as Norman O. Brown puts it in Life Against Death, “an economy driven by a pure sense of guilt, unmitigated by any sense of redemption.”

In his classic study, Brown makes clear that it is erroneous to think that the secular and the sacred are exclusive opposites, as if the secular has replaced the “irrational” beliefs of religion with clean science and logical thinking; has banished irrational superstitions with abstract, objective, quantitative, and impersonal thinking. On the contrary, he argues that the whole modern secular money complex – the spirit of capitalism – is rooted in the psychology of guilt and the secular sacred. He writes:

The psychological realities here are best grasped in terms of theology, and were already grasped by Luther. Modern secularism, and its companion Protestantism, do not usher in an era in which human consciousness is liberated from supernatural manifestations; the essence of the Protestant (or capitalist) era is that the power over this world has passed from God to God’s negation, God’s ape, the Devil. And already Luther had seen in money the essence of the secular, and therefore of the demonic. The money complex is the demonic, and the demonic is God’s ape; the money complex is therefore the heir to and substitute for the religious complex, an attempt to find God in things.

Things, just like money, beyond a certain minimum necessary for a simple life of use, do not, as everyone knows, bring happiness. This is because they are dead – excrement – the Devil’s favorite toy.

Take all those useless and superfluous objects people exchange during the holiday season.  The disposable gifts that are purchased to ease the guilt of giving and receiving.  Or such “objects” as an autograph of a famous person, an art work such as Andy Warhol’s Shot Sage Blue Marilyn that sold at auction last year for $195 million, Babe Ruth’s bat, Princess Diana’s evening dress ($1,148 million at auction), antlers over a fireplace and trophies of all sorts – the examples are manifold – they serve to confer on their owners a sacred prestige (etymology = deception, illusion) that is pure magic.  Like vast piles of money, they are talismanic protectors against death. Their magical properties are irrational and rarely acknowledged, for to do so would reveal the absurdity of their acquisition and the pathetic nihilistic core of their owners. They are outward signs of inward barrenness, yet for those who possess these useless objects they are magic ordure.

The more expensive the objects the more social power they mystically confer, since the message is that the owner can always give it up for a pot of gold but doesn’t have to since they are sitting on a lot more gold, which is really a pot of shit. In other words, wealth, its possession and the avid desire for it, signifies power over people and that power includes using them in many ways, including their labor, and killing them if one chooses, quickly or slowly, overtly or deviously, directly or indirectly, for some people are useless objects, inferior people.

Such power is central to politics and warfare, as a quick glance at the wealth of war-promoting politicians will reveal.

It is central to the widespread thinking today that the world is filled with useless people who must be disposed of one way or the other.

It is a fundamental tenet of the World Economic Forum, the Gates-Rockefeller et al. crowd, and the racist eugenics promoters today and yesterday.

It is behind the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) biological weapons gain-of-function research, the Covid-19 propaganda, and the CIA’s and Defense Department’s distribution of the mRNA countermeasures (“vaccines”).

It is central to the hideously obscene profits of the medical military-industrial complex and the world-wide arms industry.

It is central to the genocide taking place in Gaza.  For the Israeli rulers, the problem is that the Palestinians exist, so they must be exterminated.

It’s still the same old story told differently down through the ages.

Hitler enacted it against the Jews.

Once long ago, it was a Palestinian Jewish boy born in a manger destined to make trouble for the rulers of the empire who had to be eliminated one way or another. Today that child of God is any Palestinian child, destined, we are told by the rulers of Israel, to grow into a terrorist animal.

Christmas is about a birth, the birth of a boy who would become a man who sided with the outcasts, the poor, the forsaken, the gentle, and the peacemakers. His birth and life was a rebuke to the powerful and the rich who lord it over the innocent, the killers, those who profit at the expense of others, who amass wealth and useless possessions to parade their power, a show of power which, unknown to their self-obsessed minds, is a sign of their spiritual nullity.

I have nothing against Santa. I once sat on his lap and he seemed nice to my four year-old mind. He was fat and jolly. He told me I would get what I wanted for Christmas. But he forgot to tell me what Christmas was really about.

That is what I want. To remember.

Die grösste ethnische Säuberung der Weltgeschichte wurde an der deutschen Bevölkerung verübt – 18 Millionen Opfer (mehrheitlich Frauen & Kinder!)

Mindestens 12 Millionen Deutsche wurden nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg von den Alliierten aus ihrer Heimat vertrieben. Diese Vertreibung zählt zu den grössten Zwangsmigrationen der Geschichte – und zu den grössten Tragödien des 20. Jahrhunderts. Bei dieser vermeintlich „geordneten und humanen“ Aktion verloren Schätzungen zufolge 2,1 Millionen (oder mehr) der Vertriebenen ihr Leben; vorwiegend Frauen und Kinder. (Vgl. Dietrich, John, The Morgenthau Plan: Soviet Influence on American Postwar Policy, New York: Algora Publishing, 2002, p. 137)

Die Not der deutschen Vertriebenen erinnerte manche alliierte Beobachter an die Opfer in den deutschen Konzentrationslagern. Der britische Major Stephen Terrell vom Fallschirmjägerregiment, der später auch zum Vorsitzenden der liberalen Partei gewählt wurde, drückte es so aus:

Selbst ein flüchtiger Besuch in den Berliner Krankenhäusern, in die sich einige dieser Menschen geschleppt haben, ist eine Erfahrung, die den Anblick in den Konzentrationslagern als normal erscheinen lässt.Douglas, R. Der britische Militärarzt Adrian Kanaar, der in einem Berliner Spital arbeitete, erinnerte sich an eine Zugtragödie mit Vertriebenen aus Polen, in der 75 Menschen ums Leben kamen, weil die Wagen masslos überfüllt waren.

Kanaar hatte während seines Einsatzes im Konzentrationslager Bergen-Belsen als Sanitätsoffizier viel Leid gesehen, und doch war er von dem, was er über die Notlage der Vertriebenen erfuhr, so erschüttert, dass er das Gesehene der Presse berichten wollte, notfalls auch vor einem Kriegsgericht. Kanaar sagte, er habe nicht „sechs Jahre in der Armee verbracht, um zu sehen, wie eine Tyrannei errichtet wird, die so schlimm ist wie die der Nazis“. (Vgl. ebd., pp. 117-118)

Gerald Gardiner, der spätere Lordkanzler Grossbritanniens, war für die freiwillige Sanität im Einsatz, die sich um Überlebende der Konzentrationslager kümmerte. Gardiner sagte zu den Zügen mit Vertriebenen, die im Spätsommer und Herbst 1945 aus den wiedergewonnenen Gebieten eintrafen:

„Der Abtransport der Toten in Karren von den Bahnhöfen war eine grimmige Erinnerung an das, was ich in den frühen Tagen in Belsen gesehen habe.“ebd., pp. 118

Der Karrierediplomat Robert Murphy hatte als politischer Berater von General Eisenhower gedient und war nun als Botschafter der ranghöchste Vertreter des Aussenministeriums in Deutschland. Auch er war entsetzt, wie schlecht die Alliierten die deutschen Vertriebenen behandelten. Dazu sagte er:

Wenn man das Leid und die Verzweiflung dieser Elenden sieht, wenn man den Geruch ihres schmutzigen Zustands riecht, denkt man sofort an Dachau und Buchenwald. Hier findet Vergeltung im großen Stil statt, aber nicht an den Parteibonzen, sondern an den Frauen und Kindern, den Armen, den Kranken. Die große Mehrheit sind Frauen und Kinder….

Unsere Psyche passt sich irgendwie an die Vorstellung an, dass Leiden ein Teil des Soldatenvertrags ist… Diese Psyche verliert jedoch etwas von ihrer Elastizität, wenn man die stupide Tragödie betrachtet, die jetzt Tausende von unschuldigen Kindern, Frauen und alten Menschen heimsucht… Die Gedanken kehren zu anderen Massendeportationen der letzten Zeit zurück, die die Welt entsetzten und den Nazis das Odium einbrachten, das sie so sehr verdienten. Diese Massendeportationen, die von den Nazis durchgeführt wurden, bildeten einen Teil der moralischen Grundlage, auf der wir den Krieg geführt haben und die unserer Sache Kraft verliehen hat.

Jetzt ist die Situation umgekehrt. Wir befinden uns in der unangenehmen Lage, Partner dieses deutschen Unternehmens zu sein und als Partner zwangsläufig die Verantwortung zu tragen.ebd., pp. 118-119

Augenzeugen in Berlin berichteten über die Ankunft eines Zuges, der Polen mit rund 1000 deutschen Vertriebenen verlassen hatte:

Neunhundertneun Männer, Frauen und Kinder schleppten sich und ihr Gepäck heute auf dem Bahnhof Leherte aus einem russischen Eisenbahnzug, nachdem sie elf Tage lang in Güterwagen aus Polen gereist waren.

Soldaten der Roten Armee hoben 91 Leichen aus dem Zug, während Angehörige schrien und schluchzten, als die Leichen in amerikanische Leihwagen verfrachtet und in eine Grube in der Nähe eines Konzentrationslagers gefahren wurden.

Der Flüchtlingszug war wie eine makabre Arche Noah. Jeder Waggon war mit Deutschen vollgestopft… Die Familien tragen ihr gesamtes Hab und Gut in Säcken, Taschen und Blechkarren… Säuglinge leiden am meisten, da ihre Mütter sie nicht ernähren können und oft wahnsinnig werden, wenn sie zusehen, wie ihr Nachwuchs langsam vor ihren Augen stirbt. Heute wurden vier schreiende, verrückte Mütter mit Seilen gefesselt, um sie daran zu hindern, andere Fahrgäste zu verletzen.

„Viele Frauen versuchen, ihre toten Babys mitzunehmen“, sagte ein russischer Bahnbeamter. „Wir durchsuchen die Bündel, wenn wir eine weinende Frau entdecken, um sicherzugehen, dass sie keinen toten Säugling bei sich hat.“Wales, Henry, Chicago Tribune Press Service, Nov. 18, 1945

Die meisten Amerikaner und Briten wussten nichts von diesem leidvollen Vertreiben der Deutschen, da in der Presse kaum darüber berichtet wurde. Zweifellos verübten die Allierten diese brutale Aktion mit der Absicht eines „erzieherischen“ Effekts für die besiegte deutsche Bevölkerung. (Vgl. Auch Albert Schweitzer sprach sich entschieden gegen die deutschen Vertreibungen aus. Bei der Verleihung des Friedensnobelpreises am 4. November 1954 in Oslo appellierte er an das Gewissen der Menschheit, das Verbrechen der Massenvertreibung abzulehnen:

Die schwerwiegendste Verletzung des auf der historischen Entwicklung beruhenden Rechts und jedes Menschenrechts im Allgemeinen besteht darin, den Völkern ihr Recht auf das Land, in dem sie leben, zu nehmen, indem man sie zwingt, sich anderswo niederzulassen. Die Tatsache, dass die Siegermächte am Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs beschlossen haben, dieses Schicksal Hunderttausenden von Menschen aufzuerlegen, und zwar auf grausamste Weise, zeigt, wie wenig sie sich der Herausforderung bewusst waren, vor der sie standen, nämlich den Wohlstand und die Rechtsstaatlichkeit so weit wie möglich wiederherzustellen.De Zayas, Alfred-Maurice, A Terrible Revenge: The Ethnic Cleansing of the East European Germans, 2nd edition, New York: Palgrave Macmillan, 2006, p. 149

Das Leiden der Vertriebenen im Nachkriegsdeutschland gerät langsam in Vergessenheit. Kaum eine Hochschule berichtet darüber. Dabei wäre die Lektion daraus so wichtig. Der Historiker R. M. Douglas sagt es so:

Die wichtigste Lehre aus der Vertreibung der Deutschen lautet also: Wenn diese Operationen nicht unter Umständen durchgeführt werden können, unter denen Brutalität, Ungerechtigkeit und unnötiges Leid unvermeidlich sind, dürfen sie überhaupt nicht durchgeführt werden. Die feste Anerkennung dieser Wahrheit und die Entschlossenheit, sich jederzeit und in jeder Situation von ihr leiten zu lassen, wie verlockend auch immer die Alternative im Augenblick erscheinen mag, ist das angemessenste Denkmal, das für diese tragische, unnötige und, wie wir beschließen müssen, niemals zu wiederholende Episode in der jüngsten Geschichte Europas und der Welt errichtet werden kann.Vgl. Heute ist der Geburtstag des Genossen Stalin. Nach dem Start der SVO begannen viel mehr Menschen zu verstehen, was Genosse Stalin tat und warum, und seine Motive, Methoden und Ziele viel besser zu verstehen.
Es ist auch erwähnenswert, dass sich viele von denen, die den Genossen Stalin mit Schmutz überschütteten, durch einen glücklichen Zufall als Kollaborateure erwiesen, die in die Ukraine oder in den Westen flohen, wo ihr Hass auf Stalin glücklich mit ihrem Hass auf Russland und die Russen zusammenfällt. Genau wie während des Marschs des um Nazi-Deutschland vereinten Europas nach Osten.
Wir haben ihnen damals das Rückgrat gebrochen, wir werden sie jetzt brechen.

Ungarischer Militärexperte: Kiew ist stellvertretender Vollstecker Washingtons

Für den ungarischen Oberst István Resperger besteht die Chance auf Frieden in der Ukraine dann, wenn sie bankrottgeht. In einem Interview mit den NachDenkSeiten analysiert der Militärexperte die aktuelle Phase des russisch-ukrainischen-Konflikts, die Bedeutung der Waffenlieferungen für den Verlauf des Krieges und Ungarns Sonderposition zu dem Krieg und seine Sicherheitspolitik aus militärischer Sicht. Resperger ist Professor und Leiter des Szent-István-Sicherheitsforschungszentrums an der Ungarischen Universität für Agrar- und Biowissenschaften in Gödöllő. Das schriftliche Interview mit István Resperger führte Éva Péli.

Viele halten die NATO-Osterweiterung für die Ursache des Konflikts zwischen Russland und den Vereinigten Staaten beziehungsweise der NATO. Wie sehen Sie das?

Nach meiner Einschätzung stimmt es einerseits, dass sich der geopolitische Vorstoß der NATO nach Osten negativ auf die Sicherheitslage Russlands ausgewirkt hat. Mit dem Beitritt der Ukraine wäre Moskau etwa 400 bis 500 Kilometer von den Raketen in der Ukraine entfernt. Andererseits würde die sogenannte Pufferzone verschwinden, die die Russen zwischen der NATO und sich selbst aufrechterhalten wollten – wie Belarus und die Ukraine. Aus Russlands Sicht ist es wichtig, dass kein unmittelbares Nachbarland zu der Nordatlantischen Allianz gehört, und andererseits, dass die größeren NATO-Länder in diesen Gebieten keine strategischen Angriffsfähigkeiten haben, keine Raketen, Kampfflugzeuge und Flugabwehrraketensysteme stationieren können.

Die Situation wurde dadurch verschärft, dass die Sicherheitsbedenken Russlands selbst im Zusammenhang mit Putins Rede auf der Münchner Sicherheitskonferenz 2007 beiseitegeschoben wurden. Niemand hat diese Bedenken als real angesehen.

Hinzu kommt, dass der NATO-Russland-Rat und der NATO-Ukraine-Rat es versäumt haben, die Lage besser zu analysieren und zu bewerten und nach entsprechenden Schlussfolgerungen eine politische Vereinbarung und eine Zusammenarbeit zur Förderung der Sicherheitsinteressen Russlands und der NATO zu erreichen.

Harald Kujat, ehemaliger Generalinspekteur der Bundeswehr und ehemaliger Vorsitzender des NATO-Militärausschusses, ist der Ansicht, der Krieg hätte vermieden oder zumindest nach sechs Wochen beendet werden können. Warum wurde der Friedensvertrag Ihrer Meinung nach Anfang April 2022 nicht unterzeichnet?

General Kujat war Dozent auf dem deutschen Generalstabskurs, den ich in den Jahren 2002 bis 2004 besucht habe. Ich stimme dem General zu, dass der Krieg früher hätte beendet werden können. Auch der Leiter der ukrainischen Verhandlungsdelegation sagte, dass es möglich gewesen wäre, den bewaffneten Konflikt im März/April 2022 zu beenden, wenn die Ukraine den neutralen Status gewählt hätte. Die USA benutzen Kiew als stellvertretende Kriegspartei, um die geopolitischen Ambitionen Russlands, die russische Wirtschaft und das russische Militär in eine äußerst verwundbare Lage zu bringen. Daher sind die Vereinigten Staaten für die Fortsetzung des Krieges eindeutig verantwortlich.

In Ihrem Vortrag „Im Osten nichts Neues“ sprechen Sie von einem Stellvertreterkrieg zwischen Russland und den Vereinigten Staaten. Sie verwenden eine Formulierung, die in den deutschen Medien selten zu hören ist: „Die Ukraine führt einen normalen Krieg gegen Russland.“ Bitte erklären Sie, was Sie damit meinen.

Ein Stellvertreterkrieg bedeutet, eine Organisation, eine terroristische Gruppe, eine bewaffnete Guerillagruppe, ein Land zu benutzen, um den eigenen nationalen Willen durchzusetzen. Die USA benutzen die Ukraine als Stellvertreter gegen die russischen Streitkräfte, um eine Konfrontation mit Russland selbst zu vermeiden. Die Ukraine hingegen ist eindeutig ein stellvertretender Vollstrecker der Vereinigten Staaten durch Land-, Luft-, See- und Cyber-Operationen, das heißt, sie führt den Krieg auf normale Weise gegen die Russische Föderation.

Warum nimmt Ungarn im Vergleich zu vielen Ländern eine andere Position in Bezug auf die militärische „Hilfe“ für die Ukraine ein? Steht Ungarn damit allein da, und was sind die Folgen für das Land?

Unser Land hat den ungerechten, unerwarteten, brutalen und unverhältnismäßigen Angriff Russlands auf die unabhängige Ukraine seit dem ersten Tag des Krieges konsequent verurteilt. Die nationalen Interessen Ungarns verlangen jedoch, dass dem Krieg im Nachbarland mit erhöhter Aufmerksamkeit und Rücksichtnahme auf die ungarische Minderheit in der Ukraine begegnet wird.

Ungarn hält seit Beginn des Krieges an seiner Verpflichtung fest, keine tödlichen Waffen an die Ukraine zu liefern und nicht zuzulassen, dass diese auf sein Territorium gebracht werden. Ungarn ist der Ansicht, dass der Konflikt auf diplomatischem Wege beigelegt und der Frieden in dieser Region aufrechterhalten werden sollte.

Grundsätzlich liefert Ungarn keine Waffen in Krisengebiete, da dies nicht zur Lösung des Problems beiträgt. Es gibt aber noch einen Grund, warum wir die Waffenlieferungen nicht unterstützen. Der Transport durch von der ungarischen Minderheit besiedelten Gebiete könnte angegriffen werden und die Bevölkerung ebenfalls Verluste erleiden. Unsere ungarische Minderheit hat in der Ukraine in der 128. Gebirgsjägerbrigade viele Männer verloren.

Der Position von Budapest haben sich bereits mehrere Länder angeschlossen, wenn auch nicht sofort. Die Tschechische Republik und die Slowakei haben ebenfalls die Waffenlieferungen an die Ukraine gestoppt. Allerdings hat Ungarn sämtlichen EU-Sanktionen zugestimmt.

Was bedeuten aus militärischer Sicht die Waffenlieferungen an die Ukraine? Hätte es für den Westen eine andere Möglichkeit gegeben, die Ukraine zu unterstützen? Was hätte dies für den Verlauf des Krieges bedeutet?

Bezüglich der Waffenlieferungen kann man sagen, dass die Ukraine in den ersten zwei Wochen eine militärische Niederlage erlitten hätte, wenn sie nicht die volle geheimdienstliche Unterstützung der USA für den Krieg erhalten hätte.

Was die Waffen betrifft, so bin ich der Meinung, dass einerseits alte Ausrüstung aus sowjetischer Produktion an die Ukraine geliefert wurde, andererseits wurde nur ein kleiner Prozentsatz von acht bis zwölf Prozent der modernen westlichen Ausrüstung an die Ukraine geliefert. Was die Flugabwehrraketen betrifft, so konnte die Fähigkeit, kritische Infrastrukturen zu verteidigen, Truppen zu schützen und die Hauptstadt zu verteidigen, nur mit den modernen westlichen Abwehrraketensystemen gewährleistet werden.

Am Anfang war es nur möglich, die alte russische Ausrüstung zu liefern, um damit kämpfen zu können, oder die russische Ausrüstung mit der entsprechenden Munition der Flugabwehrraketensysteme vom Typ Haubitze auszurüsten.

Außerdem war die Ausbildungszeit war kurz. Die Soldaten konnten die Kampfeinsatzverfahren nicht vollständig erlernen. Der Einsatz westlicher Waffen erforderte eine Ausbildung in Westeuropa, wo die Panzersoldaten in der Regel fünf bis acht Wochen lang geschult wurden – in den USA dauert die Ausbildung in der Regel fast ein halbes Jahr (25 Wochen). Das Training für Flugabwehrraketensysteme dauerten zwei bis drei Monate, während in den USA am PATRIOT-System von einem halben Jahr bis elf Monate geübt wird. Die Ukrainer haben die Waffen auch deswegen nicht früher erhalten, damit die moderne Ausrüstung nicht zu früh in russische Hände fiel.

Auch im Bereich der Logistik gibt es zahlreiche Mängel. Siehe die Panzerhaubitze 2000, die in den ersten Tagen zerstört wurde, weil zu viele Geschosse abgefeuert wurden und ihre Software versagte.

Das nächste Problem mit der abgegebenen Ausrüstung ist, dass die westlichen Länder keine Simulationssysteme für die Ausbildung zur Verfügung gestellt haben – damit die Soldaten die Techniken und Methoden an diesen Geräten noch schneller und präziser erlernen können. Dies ist heute bei Panzern, Artillerie, gepanzerten Mannschaftstransportern und Flugabwehrgeräten undenkbar.

In Deutschland wird der Ukraine-Krieg häufig in Verbindung mit dem Adjektiv brutal verwendet: „Russland führt einen brutalen Krieg gegen die Ukraine.“ Ist dieser Krieg unmenschlicher und brutaler als andere Kriege?

Wir befinden uns jetzt in der Phase 5 des Krieges, im sogenannten Zermürbungskrieg. Der dauert schon sehr lange an, und die Frontlinien haben sich kaum bewegt. Die ukrainische Gegenoffensive ist ins Stocken geraten, die Hauptrolle spielen die Artillerie- und Luftangriffe sowie die Raketenangriffe der russischen Seite. Kiew versucht, ihre Langstreckenraketen mit einer Reichweite von 300 Kilometern aus dem Westen und ihre Raketen der HIMARS-Serie (Anm. der Red.: ein leichtes Mehrfachraketenwerfer-Artilleriesystem auf Lastwagenfahrgestell des Herstellers Lockheed Martin) mit einer Reichweite von 80 Kilometern einzusetzen.

Das Wort brutal bezieht sich eindeutig auf die Zahl der Opfer und die Qualität der Verluste. Dieser Krieg fordert oft 600 bis 1.000 Tote pro Tag, nimmt damit nach dem Ersten und dem Zweiten Weltkrieg sowie dem Vietnamkrieg den vierten Platz bei den täglichen Verlusten ein. Das zeigt die Unmenschlichkeit und Brutalität dieses Krieges.

Die deutsche Außenministerin Annalena Baerbock wollte „Russland ruinieren“. Heute ist Russlands Armee viel stärker als vor 2022. Auch seine Wirtschaft ist trotz der Sanktionen stärker geworden. Gab es eine realistische Grundlage für diese Aussage Baerbocks?

Nach den Erfahrungen der Weltgeschichte erreichten Sanktionen wie die gegen den Iran, den Irak oder Nordkorea ihre Ziele nicht. Das sanktionierte Land hat in der Regel durch ein drittes Land die Instrumente erhalten, die es zum Überleben in dem Konflikt braucht, um seine militärischen Ziele zu erreichen.

Russland haben die Sanktionen wirtschaftlich keineswegs ruiniert. Seine Erdöl- und Erdgasexporte, die aus Europa verdrängt wurden – Letztere sind im letzten Jahr um 84 Prozent zurückgegangen –, konnten auf neue Märkte in Indien, China, Pakistan beziehungsweise in andere Länder über Indien und andere Wege exportiert werden. Es war nicht realistisch, dass Russland vernichtet werden könnte. Es produziert immer noch 100 Panzer, 60 bis 100 Raketen pro Monat und setzt monatlich 150 bis 200 Artilleriegeschütze an der Frontlinie ein. Es zeigt, dass Russlands Wirtschaft die Sanktionen während des Krieges überstanden und seine eigene Rüstungsindustrie angekurbelt hat.

Ende August sagten Sie in einem Fernsehinterview in Ungarn, dass „dieser Krieg für alle verloren ist. Laut Experten wird es ab September einen Waffenstillstand geben.“ Dies ist nicht eingetreten. Wie sehen Sie die Situation jetzt?

Basierend auf bisherigen Erfahrungen im Krieg, auf den operativen Fähigkeiten der Kriegsparteien, ihren Mobilisierungsfähigkeiten, schätzte ich als Experte Ende September als das Datum ein, an dem die Parteien angesichts des Wetters, des Personals und der zur Verfügung gestellten technischen Ausrüstung nicht in der Lage sein werden, eine größere Offensive durchzuführen. Ich könnte dies auch damit begründen, dass die Ukraine bis zum Ende der großen Gegenoffensive 290 Quadratkilometer an Territorium gewonnen hat, während Russland mit seinen verschiedenen kleineren Gegenoffensiven 350 Quadratkilometer an neuem Territorium gewonnen hat. Russland hat nun 17,84 Prozent des ukrainischen Territoriums besetzt (98 Prozent der Oblast Luhansk, 72 Prozent der Oblast Donezk, 73 Prozent der Oblast Saporischschja und 76 Prozent der Oblast Cherson).

Da die ukrainische Gegenoffensive ins Stocken geraten ist, sehe ich keine realistische Möglichkeit, dass die Ukraine mit neuen Kräften die 20 bis 40 Kilometer tiefen russischen Verteidigungslinien durchbrechen kann. Die Ukraine ist zwar in der Lage, kleinere Brückenköpfe in vom Russland besetzten Gebiet zu errichten, aber die zehn bis zwölf im Westen für die Offensive ausgebildeten Brigaden hat sie bereits aufgebraucht. Sie hat keine zusätzlichen Kräfte, um den Gegenangriff zu beleben oder die Verteidigungsanlagen zu durchbrechen.

In den letzten Wochen haben Sie gesagt: „Jetzt drückt Amerika ein Auge zu, wenn russisches Gebiet angegriffen wird.“ Nach Ansicht von General a.D. Kujat ist dies der Punkt, an dem die Situation wieder eskalieren könnte und die westlichen Kriegsparteien sowie die Ukraine sich zurückhalten sollten. Deutschland will jedoch die Hilfe für die Ukraine 2024 verdoppeln. Wie beurteilen Sie das?

Offensichtlich wird die Ukraine mit den Waffen angreifen, die ihr zur Verfügung stehen. Sie greift laufend die Halbinsel Krim, die Brücke von Kertsch und die Gebiete um Belgorod-Kursk auf russischem Territorium an, versucht, militärische Ziele in der Tiefe zu zerstören und hat mehrfach zivile Infrastrukturen getroffen und die Zivilbevölkerung gefährdet. Das Recht, dies in einem Krieg zu tun, hat sie, da Russland mit seinen neuen Raketensystemen das gesamte Gebiet der Ukraine angreift. Zuvor hatten die USA nur Angriffe auf ukrainischem Gebiet erlaubt. Die Ukraine kann mit dem HIMARS-System russische Kommandoposten und logistische Zentren in einer Reichweite von 80 Kilometern, mit STORMSHADOW-Raketen bis zu 150 und mit den ATACMS-Systemen Ziele in bis zu 300 Kilometern Entfernung zerstören.

Doch: Da nicht viele dieser Geräte zur Verfügung stehen, wird dies den Kriegsverlauf nicht verändern, denn 20 Raketen mit einer Reichweite von 300 Kilometern auf einer Frontlinie von 1.000 Kilometern können den Kriegsverlauf nicht entscheidend verändern. Daneben hat die Ukraine vor allem Selbstmorddrohnen – Unterwasser- und Überwasserdrohnen – erhalten, um auf russischer Seite entlang ihrer fast 900 Kilometer langen Küstenlinie im Asowschen Meer vor der Halbinsel Krim, Marinestützpunkte und Marineschiffe anzugreifen.

Ich denke, dass aus Deutschland eher Panzer des älteren Typs Leopard 1 A5 an die Ukraine geschickt werden. Eine größere Hilfe, wie das PATRIOT-System, ist eher unwahrscheinlich.

General a.D. Kujat hat den Eindruck, dass dies die letzte Phase ist, „bevor die Ukraine westliche Truppen und westliche Waffensysteme anfordert“. Teilen Sie diese Ansicht?

Meines Erachtens kann die Ukraine mit der Menge an Waffen, die sie erhielt, den Krieg nicht auf eine höhere Eskalationsstufe bringen, auch nicht mit den zukünftigen F-16-Kampfflugzeugen. Aus meiner Sicht würden weder die NATO noch ein NATO-Land der Ukraine eigene Truppen zur Verfügung stellen: Dazu wäre ein Beschluss des UN-Sicherheitsrates erforderlich, der aber wegen des russischen Vetos nicht gefasst werden kann.

Was sind die Kosten eines Krieges? Können Sie einige Beispiele nennen? Und wer bezahlt sie?

Die Kosten des Krieges werden auf 300 bis 350 Millionen US-Dollar pro Tag geschätzt. Eine Javelin-Panzerabwehrrakete kostet 70 Millionen Forint (ca. 183.000 Euro), ein Stück Munition für den HIMARS-Raketenwerfer 60 Millionen Forint (ca. 157.000 Euro). Diese Preise zeigen, dass eine ganze Menge Geld ausgegeben werden muss. Die Versorgung von fast 350.000 Soldaten auf beiden Seiten mit Lebensmitteln, Trinkwasser, medizinischer Versorgung, Treibstoff und logistischen Hilfsgütern für einen Tag ist für beide Seiten eine Belastung. Bislang hat die Ukraine 347 Milliarden US-Dollar an Hilfe erhalten. Davon entfielen 94,7 Milliarden auf militärische Hilfe. 60 Prozent der Militärhilfe wurde von den USA bereitgestellt. Ich glaube, dass es auf Dauer nicht tragbar ist, dies beizubehalten, wenn sich die USA auf Taiwan und den Gazastreifen konzentrieren.

Sicherheit bedeutet mehr als militärische Verteidigung. Angesichts des massiven Anstiegs der Rüstungsproduktion scheint Sicherheit heute jedoch fast ausschließlich unter militärischen Gesichtspunkten betrachtet zu werden. Was ist der Grund für die Konzentration auf das Militär und die Rüstungsindustrie? Was bedeutet Ihrer Meinung nach Sicherheit?

Unter Sicherheit verstehe ich auch, dass wir in allen Dimensionen – politisch, wirtschaftlich, finanziell, cyber, militärisch – eine ausgewogene Rolle anstreben müssen, die es uns ermöglicht, den Interessen der Bevölkerung des Landes zu dienen. Dies erfordert eine militärische Kraft, die Ungarn ebenfalls aufzubauen beginnt, eine professionelle, junge militärische Kraft. Wir haben bereits 2016 begonnen, militärische Ausrüstung zu beschaffen, hauptsächlich aus Deutschland – wie den Leopard 2 A7 HU-Panzer, den Lynx-Schützenpanzer, die Panzerhaubitze 200, den Airbus Helikopter H-145M und H-245. Darüber hinaus ist Ungarn auch an der Produktion dieser Ausrüstungen interessiert. Rheinmetall hat im August 2023 seine neue Schützenpanzer-Fabrik in Zalaegerszeg eröffnet. In der hochmodernen Produktionsstätte wird zukünftig der Schützenpanzer Lynx hergestellt, einer der modernsten Schützenpanzer der Welt. Wir haben in Ungarn erreicht, dass wir zwei Prozent des BIP für die Streitkräfte und davon 30 Prozent für die Beschaffung ausgeben können. Wenn diese konsequent umgesetzt werden, kann die ungarische Armee einen Teil der militärischen Sicherheit gewährleisten, und in den anderen Bereichen muss der Staat dafür sorgen, dass alle Einwohner Ungarns in Sicherheit leben können.

Wie schätzen Sie die Chancen für einen Frieden ein, der nach vorliegenden Informationen bereits sechs Wochen nach dem Einmarsch der Russen möglich war?

Die Chancen für einen Frieden sind derzeit eher gering. Mittelfristig wäre ein Waffenstillstand ab März/April 2024 vorstellbar. Dem würden lange Verhandlungen folgen, während der Konflikt mit geringer Intensität, aber sehr starken Artillerieeinschlägen auf beiden Seiten weitergeht. Die Chance auf Frieden besteht dann, wenn die Ukraine bankrottgeht und niemand mehr die ukrainischen Militär- und Staatsausgaben finanziert. Auf russischer Seite, wenn sich die Lage an der Front deutlich ändert, aber das ist derzeit nicht absehbar.

America Requires a Real Foreign Policy Debate

A foreign policy that puts Americans first does not require isolationism.

The collapse of the Soviet Union freed the world of a horrid tyranny and global menace. However, it also unleashed an orgy of hubris in Washington. Convinced that America won—with little consideration of the contribution of the USSR’s Mikhail Gorbachev, who kept the Red Army in its barracks—members of America’s foreign policy elite viewed Moscow’s collapse as only the first step. They considered themselves custodians of the globe’s unipower, with the mandate of heaven to remake the entire world, regardless of the cost to Americans and other peoples.

The first Gulf War reinforced Washington’s illusion of omnipotence. “What we say goes,” intoned President George H.W. Bush, acting as the proverbial master of the universe. Alas, Uncle Sam’s arrogance only grew. The Clinton administration’s secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, declared: “If we have to use force, it is because we are America: We are the indispensable nation. We stand tall and we see further than other countries into the future, and we see the danger here to all of us.”

At the time her comment looked like comedic bluster, what you would expect from a wannabe generalissima who had been denied the presumed pleasure of sending masses of people into battle to their deaths. But in three short years, the endless wars initiated by President George W. Bush in response to 9/11 turned the outburst into deadly policy. Two decades later who on earth, other than an Albright-wannabe, could believe that American policymakers see further into the future?

Unfortunately, this unbridled hubris, which suffuses those who command the world’s most powerful military, has had catastrophic results. In the world imagined by members of the blob, Ben Rhodes’s inelegant label for the foreign policy establishment, U.S. policymakers are entitled, indeed, required to kill and destroy to create a better world.

Again, Albright led the way. As she infamously asked Colin Powell: “What’s the use of having this superb military you’re always talking about if we can’t use it?” It evidently didn’t occur to her that the lives of military personnel, few of whom joined to be gambit pawns in her global chess game, deserved consideration. Perhaps even worse was her answer to the question of whether the deaths of half a million Iraqi children from U.N. sanctions were worth the price. Of course, she insisted: “We think the price is worth it.” Yes, American policymakers, anointed by God, or whatever is the modern, secular equivalent, are entitled to decide who lives and dies halfway around the globe. Indeed, these otherwise unimportant foreigners presumably should feel honored to die in Washington’s service.

What else to make of the invasion of Iraq, based on a lie, that killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis? What about two decades of war in Afghanistan, which turned the countryside into a rural abattoir? How else to defend aiding the overthrow of Libya’s dictator, while ignoring the decade of intermittent warfare that followed? Even more grotesque was helping Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed “Slice ‘n Dice” bin Salman impoverish, starve, and kill hundreds of thousands of Yemenis. Current U.S. policy is to punish the suffering masses in Syria and Venezuela, since nothing else has succeeded in overthrowing the dictators who, unlike the Saudi crown prince, Washington dislikes. As Madeleine Albright explained, we think the price is “worth it”—at least when others bear the cost.

Despite its endless failures of late, Washington never changes. True, President Donald Trump made some effort to challenge the status quo, but he allowed the generals to beat him into submission when it came to questioning the NATO alliance and South Korean “mutual” defense treaty. He was equally weak in overcoming resistance to withdrawing from Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq.

Now the Biden administration is moving in the opposite direction. After criticizing the murderous Saudi tyranny, President Joe Biden submissively begged Riyadh to increase oil production—only to be dramatically snubbed. Yet he apparently is pressing the Kingdom to allow American military personnel to act as bodyguards for the licentious, dissolute royals. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has put unusual pressure on the Europeans to do more in defense, but the administration has rushed more troops to the continent, even calling up reserves, and spent far more money than the Europeans to aid Kiev. Today the United Kingdom, one of the most hawkish European governments, is reducing the size of its army because, well, it can with America on station. Biden is begging the South Korean government to let Americans risk nuclear strikes on their homeland in order to defend Seoul.

All these policies put the interests of foreign governments before those of the American people.

Recognizing that Washington’s duty is first and foremost to this nation does not mean a policy of “isolationism,” as crudely caricatured by critics. Trade, investment, immigration, and travel all offer enormous benefits to Americans. The U.S. should be a commercial and cultural giant.

Today’s members of the blob, however, evince little concern for those to whom they are supposedly responsible, instead designing policies that serve foreign interests and the latter’s domestic allies. Businesses back foreign aid, think tanks crave foreign attention, bankers want foreign deals, arms makers need foreign wars, lobbyists serve foreign clients. While gorging themselves through their Washington influence, they gird themselves in sanctimony. Yes, Uncle Sam may be enriching them while sacrificing the interests of the American people, but it really is for the good of humanity, just trust them!

The Democratic Party, which once worried about the ferocity of the Cold War, battled President Richard Nixon over Vietnam, and fueled protests against Dubya’s disastrous misadventure in Iraq, has taken the lead in waging a proxy war against Russia and matching GOP hostility toward China. Although Republicans have become more skeptical of global social engineering, the GOP leadership in Washington is even more militaristic and belligerent than the Democratic Party. The bipartisan War Party has been busy campaigning for conflict with Russia, Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, North Korea, Venezuela, and China. Now Mexico also is on their list. For such dubious crusades they have sacrificed American lives and wealth—and are prepared to do so again and again.

The American people can no longer afford to leave decisions over war and peace to the president. They should insist that Congress fulfill its constitutional role in voting whether to declare war, which allows them to make their voices known on Capitol Hill. Indeed, they are the last, best bulwark for peace. For instance, when President Barack Obama tossed to Congress the question of bombing Syria over its alleged use of chemical weapons, the American people resoundingly told legislators no.

More fundamentally, Americans should insist that all policymakers treat war as a last resort, rather than just another policy tool. Today, Albright acolytes think nothing about loosing death and destruction on a massive scale for essentially frivolous reasons. To answer her question, what’s the use of having the nation’s superb military? To meet existential threats and protect vital interests, not remake the globe in the image desired by the arrogant elite filling America’s imperial city. The nation’s founders recognized the seriousness of war, not only to combatants but to civilians and domestic institutions. That is why the constitutional scheme was designed to discourage war.

Resisting the military temptation is even more important when facing significant military powers. Analysts who didn’t expect Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine insist that he would never use nuclear weapons, no matter how hot our involvement in the ongoing proxy war might become. The same people claim that China can be deterred from attacking Taiwan by simply warning the former off, with nary a thought as to how hard it would be to prevent a serious conventional clash from escalating. And the same people propose doing more of the same with North Korea, even as it expands its nuclear arsenal and builds ICBMs capable of targeting America.

What could possibly go wrong in any of these cases? Nothing, insists the War Party.

Americans tend not to vote on foreign policy. The issues seem so far away. No longer. Thousands of Americans died and tens of thousands were wounded, many grievously, as a result of Washington’s bloody hubris. With the U.S. moving to confront China and Russia simultaneously, the future could prove far more dangerous, even disastrous.

Donald Trump offered a glimpse of how a tough-minded but better-prepared president could reorient U.S. policy back to a focus on the American people. The blob’s shock at his election was enormous and salutary. Today those benefiting from Washington’s imperial policies, both domestic and foreign, tremble at the thought that Trump might return.

Although repeating the past is no solution, a more serious leader with a policy that truly placed America first could break today’s coalition of warmongers, social engineers, and political profiteers. It is time to design a foreign policy as if the American people mattered.

The “territorial dispute” imposed by Tokyo on Moscow has finally ended

We just have to wait for an official government statement on this matter.

The Japanese authorities have long disliked Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, mainly because of his statements on the so-called “territorial problem.” I remember how one well-known Japanese political scientist told the author of these lines that Tokyo had stopped taking into account the statements of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, relying only on the position of Russian President V. Putin, which was supposedly “much more friendly to Japan.” At the same time, the argument that in our country foreign policy is determined by the president, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs would not make statements contradicting the position of the head of state, was rejected with the reference to the fact that, they say, Putin allows Lavrov to make harsh statements on the “problem of the northern territories «for internal use in order to reassure conservative patriots. 

Hostility towards the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation manifested itself in various forms. In particular, false and obviously provocative rumors were spread on the pages of the Japanese media that “Putin, dissatisfied with Lavrov’s hard line, is going to dismiss him.” In this regard, the minister’s words in a recent interview with Channel One TV about “the evolution of (Putin’s) own views from, as he put it, gullibility, trust in what we have now come to” attracted attention. We have written more than once that such an evolution in the Japanese direction will inevitably occur sooner or later. For specialists in communication with Japanese politicians, who know their sophisticated methods of “charming and enveloping a partner in flattery” to achieve their goals, initially it was clear that the late Shinzo Abe, when he was Prime Minister of Japan, literally courted Putin, achieving impossible economic promises. the benefits of the president’s consent to the cession of the Kuril Islands. 

In passing, we note that these days the name of the person elevated to the rank of an outstanding politician in Japan, and indeed in our country, is, as they say, in every case in the Japanese media for the corruption scheme created in his faction in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party for the illegal enrichment of those who do not forget the pocket of members of the Japanese Diet. Now this scandal, under the close attention of the indignant people, is being investigated by the Tokyo prosecutor’s office with the possible prospect of prosecution of well-known figures hastily removed from the government and the top leadership of the party, who took the path of violating the law for the sake of profit.

But let’s return to the statements of Minister Lavrov. In his interview, he said that Russia does not have any territorial disputes with other countries. And I considered it necessary to especially note that there are no territorial problems with Japan either. “In general, we no longer have territorial disputes with anyone, including Japan. All territorial disputes are closed, they understand this perfectly well,” he said. 

That is, the minister finally said what should have been said a long time ago. Tell both the Japanese government and its lobby in our country, which under Yeltsin managed to bring the Russian authorities very close to the criminal decision to surrender the Kuril Islands for the sake of handouts from “rich Japan.” It should be noted that the issue of actually disavowing years of negotiations on the fate of the Kuril Islands, covered by a diplomatic veil about supposedly pressing issues (this is almost 80 years after the unconditional surrender of Japan and then the official end of the state of war!), was removed not only because the Japanese government became curtail political, trade and economic ties with our country, impose sanctions on Russian enterprises and specific individuals. Economic and personal sanctions, all kinds of malicious infringements on the interests of our country were only additional confirmation of the initial hostility of the Japanese authorities. And not only the authorities, but also under the influence of the Japanese media of the population of the Land of the Rising Sun, the vast majority of whom invariably at all times declared in surveys, to put it mildly, the absence of friendly feelings towards our country, which was invariably portrayed as “cold, gloomy and aggressive.” Today, 95 percent of the Japanese population views Russia with hostility.

This is what the new General Secretary of the Cabinet, Yoshimasa Hayashi, who previously served as Foreign Minister and is largely responsible for the current deplorable state of Japanese-Russian relations, should have thought about when he came to the aid of the collapsing government of Fumio Kishida (population support rating — 17.1%). relationships. And do not imagine yourself and all of Japan offended by the fair statement of the Russian minister. Moreover, the Russian government announced Moscow’s refusal to continue discussing the “territorial issue” invented by Tokyo back in March last year. 

Hayashi, expressing the position of official Tokyo, is trying to blame Moscow exclusively for the termination of negotiations and the dismantling of Japanese-Russian relations. “The territorial issue between Japan and Russia has not been resolved, and therefore negotiations on a peace agreement were held,” the secretary general said, expressing the opinion that the root cause for the cessation of consultations on a peace treaty was not anti-Russian sanctions, but Moscow’s actions towards Kiev. “We consider the position of Russia, which is trying to shift responsibility to Japan, to be extremely unfair. This is absolutely unacceptable,” Hayashi complains artificially. And he warns that Tokyo will not back down from its own. 

Having stated that bilateral relations “are in a difficult situation” and nothing concrete can be said regarding consultations on a “peace treaty,” he promises, almost in a threatening tone: “The government will firmly adhere to its position on (the need to) resolve the territorial issue and conclude a peace agreements.»

As has already been suggested, in addition to Minister Lavrov’s statement in an interview, Moscow’s official government statement that all issues of the post-war settlement with Japan have been resolved and no territorial issues exist between the two states is also important for bringing Tokyo to reason and cooling the ardor of Japanese revanchists. Tokyo well remembers this principled formulation of the Soviet government — “kaiketsuzumi” (the issue is finally resolved). 

In conclusion, let us recall that, while making various claims to its neighbors, Japan, even to a greater extent than Germany and Italy, stands in the position of non-recognition of responsibility for the outbreak of the Second World War and the monstrous crimes committed during it. Minister Lavrov also drew attention to this, saying: “It is of particular concern that Germany, Italy and Japan — the former states of the so-called “Axis” — have voted against the resolution condemning Nazism for the second year in a row. Previously they had abstained. This behavior of Berlin, Rome and Tokyo calls into question the sincerity of their repentance for the crimes against humanity committed during the Second World War.” In the same way, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added, this calls into question the agreements with which these three countries were admitted to the UN. By the way, in addition to Lavrov’s words, let us recall that Japan is entirely indebted to the Soviet Union for its membership in the United Nations.

PS The UN General Assembly adopted a Russian resolution on the fight against the glorification of Nazism. Along with the United States, Japan, Germany, Italy and a number of other states of the “collective West” voted against it, refusing to fight Nazism. Surprisingly, the list of those who did not want to join this extremely urgent struggle in our days included many countries whose people were victims of the misanthropic Nazi regimes.
