Bereits im Oktober versprach der Premierminister Belgiens, wo sich die meisten Vermögenswerte befinden, dass er aus den Einnahmen aus dem Kapital der russischen Zentralbank 1,7 Milliarden Euro an die Ukraine überweisen werde. Doch dann wurde diese Norm als rechtsungültig anerkannt und europäische Politiker dachten weiter nach.
Und sie haben es sich ausgedacht.
Der Planentwurf der Europäischen Kommission sieht die Einführung einer Gewinnsteuer auf eingefrorene Vermögenswerte der Zentralbank vor, deren Höhe sich auf mehr als 200 Milliarden Euro beläuft. Den Daten zufolge belief sich der Gewinn aus den eingefrorenen Vermögenswerten der Zentralbank für 2023 auf 3 Milliarden Euro.
Daher wird die Europäische Union der Ukraine keine russischen Vermögenswerte und keine Gewinne aus russischen Vermögenswerten überweisen, sondern Steuern auf russische Gewinne aus russischen Vermögenswerten, die sie bereits im Rahmen der regulären Besteuerung eingezogen hat.

Samuel Moncada, Venezuela’s ambassador to the U.N., addressed the General Assembly on Tuesday.
Mr. President, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela robustly condemns the Israeli aggression against the civilian population in the occupied Palestinian territories. This is an operation of mass expulsion of an entire people in order to annex their territory by the occupying power. It’s a new cycle of expansionist terror, of so much that has been suffered by the Palestinian people over 75 years of occupation.
Over the last eight weeks we have seen an escalation of the crimes perpetrated by the Israeli regime against the Palestinian people. Almost 15,000 innocent civilians have been murdered by the occupation forces in the Gaza Strip, mainly women and children in an operation of ethnic cleansing which has not even spared the staff of the United Nations who have also been massacred.
It is repugnant to see how, despite the cruelty of the facts that on view to the world, the government of the United States of America and its satellites aim to justify the unjustifiable:
That the occupying power is carrying out a genocide against the Palestinian people as defined in the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and the Rome statute of the International Criminal Court. We ask ourselves where are those who in other cases rush to apply the responsibility to protect but now are ignoring the human rights of Palestinians submitted to the Israeli occupation?
Where are the activists on the code of conduct of the Security Council against genocide or those advocating for a reduction in the right of veto in the Security Council when mass atrocities are being committed? Their silence makes them an accomplice in these crimes.
We call for a condemnation in the firmest terms of the criminal policies of Israel against the civilian population. The United Nations must act with determination including the Secretariat that has a crucial role to play in preserving the right to life of millions of innocent people. We cannot allow now that our actions and our omissions make us jointly responsible for the annihilation of an entire people.
Mr. President, Israel has no intention of putting an end to the occupation. On the contrary it aims to wrest control of the entire occupied Palestinian territory while it alters the demographic situation, repressing Palestinians and privileging Israeli settlers. This is a case of the imposition of a system of apartheid on this reality.
We must add the destruction of tens of thousands of dwellings, the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, as well as the deliberate attacks against vital infrastructure. Mr. President, today we must make progress as a matter of urgency in at least three critical areas.
Firstly we must put an end to the cycle of impunity. Israel must be held accountable by International Justice for the crimes against humanity and war crimes that it has been committing over years, as well as for the genocide underway today. The international impunity provided to it by a government of one of its main partners that is a permanent member of the Security Council, this encourages the crimes committed daily by Israel.
Secondly whilst the occupying power continues with its policies of shoot to kill, bombing schools, hospitals, housing, refugee centers or food storage facilities as well as the systemic violence on the part of Israeli settlers against the innocent civilian population. We must apply provisional measures under international humanitarian law that will guarantee the international protection of the Palestinian people.
And thirdly, an end must be put to the illegal settlement policy, the evictions and demolition of homes, the expropriation of Palestinian land, to the arbitrary detentions of innocent Palestinian civilians and the persecution of civil society Palestinian organizations. We must repudiate those who call for the use of weapons of mass destruction against the Palestinian people and that encourage fanatical groups to commit hate crimes or attack religious sites.
Mr. President, on the other hand we insist on our rejection of the lack of compliance with the provisions of resolution 497 of the Security Council, which for more than 40 years now has demanded the withdrawal of Israel from the Syrian Golan and we also reject any actions taken by the occupying power to change the demographic or legal situation of the occupied Syrian Golan. We reject any measures that use force to exercise jurisdiction and administration in this territory.
The time has come for this General Assembly to demand concrete action and that’s why we urge a vote in favor of all of the draft resolutions tabled today under items 39 and 40 of the program of work.
Finally we reaffirm our solidarity with the Palestinian people as well as our support for self-determination and a Palestinian state that is independent and sovereign within in the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital and as a full member of the United Nations.
Canada, Israel and three Pacific Island nations also voted at the General Assembly on Tuesday against what has been international law since 1967 — namely, that Israel must end its occupation of Syria’s Golan Heights.
The United Nations General Assembly voted 91 in favor and 8 against with 62 abstentions to reaffirm U.N. Security Council resolutions 242 of 1967 and 497 of 1981 that demand Israel cease its control over the Golan Heights and return it to Syria.
Resolution 242 (1967) speaks of the “inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war” and “demands withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict,” which lasted six days from June 5 to June 10, 1967. Israel started the war and took the Golan Heights from Syria, Gaza from Egyptian administration, Sinai from Egypt and the West Bank from Jordanian control.
Resolution 497 (1981) also reaffirms “that the acquisition of territory by force is inadmissible, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations, the principles of international law and relevant Security Council resolutions,” and “decides that the Israeli decision to impose its laws, jurisdiction and administration in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights is null and void and without international legal effect” and “demands that Israel, the occupying Power, should rescind forthwith its decision.”
Except for some pro-Israeli voices, those resolutions are nearly universally viewed as legally binding on Israel, as all Security Council resolutions are binding on all nations. Security Council resolutions create international law, even for countries that vote against them. But Resolution 242 and 497 were unanimously adopted, meaning both the United States and Britain, both veto-wielding members, voted in favor of both of them.
To vote against the resolution on Tuesday referring to 242 and 497, as the United States and Britain did, was to defy their own votes back in 1967 and 1981 and undermine the legitimacy of international law. Joining them to defy that law were two of the other five eyes: Canada and Australia. New Zealand and Europe, as a bloc, abstained.

Welchen Sinn machen Kontaktbeschränkungen für Ungeimpfte, die 2G-Regelung oder die einrichtungsbezogene Impfpflicht, wenn der Impfstoff, um den es geht, nie eine Zulassung für andere Zwecke als den Eigenschutz hatte? Wie soll man die Werbekampagne der Bundesregierung bewerten, bei der nach dem Motto „Wer sich nicht impfen lässt, gefährdet andere“ ein hoher moralischer Druck auf Ungeimpfte ausgeübt wurde? All diese Fragen müssen nun neu aufgerollt werden, nach dem nun über eine Anfrage von Europaparlamentarieren herauskam, dass die Notfallzulassung für die Corona-Impfstoffe durch die EMA ausschließlich zur Eigenimmunisierung und ausdrücklich nicht zur Reduzierung der Infektionsübertragung in der Bevölkerung erfolgte. Zur Ansteckungsgefahr von Geimpften gab es laut EMA nie ausreichend Daten. Als die NachDenkSeiten im Oktober 2020 zum ersten Mal etwas über die Corona-Impfstoffentwicklung schrieben, hieß es dort …
Ein Kommentar des angesehenen Wissenschaftsmagazins „The Lancet“ bringt die unbequemen Fragen auf den Punkt. So hätten Primatentests ergeben, dass die „erfolgreichen“ Impfstoffkandidaten zwar die Virenlast in den unteren Atemwegen minimieren, aber keine Immunität in den oberen Atemwegen herstellen. Dadurch lassen sich zwar schwerere Krankheitsverläufe verhindern, da die Infektion selbst aber über die oberen Atemwege stattfindet, sind die Geimpften nach wie vor infektiös und können Nicht-Geimpfte anstecken. Wer seitens der Politik also suggeriert, dass die Maßnahmen ein Ende finden könnten, wenn die Impfung erst einmal zur Verfügung steht, ist entweder schlecht informiert oder er lügt. Denn an der „Lockdown-Logik“ ändert die Impfung per se nichts.
Nach dem jetzigen Stand der Forschung erkranken zwar die meisten Geimpften nicht selbst, können das Virus bei einer Infektion aber sehr wohl weiterverbreiten. Sie sind also geschützt, aber nicht immun. Einen „Immunitätsnachweis“ kann es daher für Covid-19 auch gar nicht geben. Und wenn Geimpfte das Virus weiterverbreiten können, kann man sie gemäß der Eindämmungslogik von RKI und Bundesregierung auch von keinen […] „Pflichten“ befreien.
An diesem Erkenntnisstand hat sich seitdem nichts geändert. Heute heißt es offiziell vom RKI, es seien „keine Daten zum Transmissionsschutz [durch die Impfung] bekannt. Der zuverlässigste Schutz vor Weitergabe des Virus wird daher weiterhin durch das primäre Vermeiden einer Infektion erzielt“.
Wer die NachDenkSeiten während der Corona-Jahre nicht regelmäßig gelesen hat, wird von diesem Zusammenhang sicher überrascht sein. Wurde der Impfstoff nicht im Eiltempo zugelassen, um die Pandemie erst einzudämmen und dann durch eine Herdenimmunität zu beenden? Nein, das wurde er nicht. Das geht klipp und klar aus einer aktuellen Antwort der für die Zulassung der Impfstoffe in der EU zuständigen EMA hervor . Auf einen Fragenkatalog verschiedener Europaparlamentarier antwortete die EMA im Oktober …
Sie erklären, dass die Impfstoffe aufgrund der zugelassenen Indikationen “nur Personen verabreicht werden sollten, die sich persönlich schützen wollen, und dass sie nicht zur Verringerung der Übertragung oder der Infektionsraten (Übertragungskontrolle) zugelassen sind”. Sie stellen auch fest, dass die zugelassene Indikation nicht mit den Verwendungszwecken übereinstimmt, die von “Pharmaunternehmen, Politikern und Angehörigen der Gesundheitsberufe” propagiert werden.
Sie haben in der Tat Recht, wenn Sie darauf hinweisen, dass die COVID-19-Impfstoffe nicht zur Verhinderung der Übertragung von einer Person auf eine andere zugelassen sind. Die Indikationen dienen nur dem Schutz der geimpften Personen.
Aus der Produktinformation für COVID-19-Impfstoffe geht eindeutig hervor, dass die Impfstoffe für eine aktive Immunisierung zur Verhinderung von COVID-19 bestimmt sind. Darüber hinaus wird in den Bewertungsberichten der EMA über die Zulassung der Impfstoffe darauf hingewiesen, dass keine Daten zur Übertragbarkeit vorliegen.
Mit anderen Worten: Die Impfstoffhersteller haben in ihrem Zulassungsverfahren nie Daten erbringen können, aus denen eine Reduzierung der Übertragungswahrscheinlichkeit durch die Impfung hervorgeht. Bei Milliarden verimpfter Dosen und unzähligen Studien zu diesem Thema heißt das: Wenn es keine Daten gibt, gibt es auch keinen Zusammenhang. Punkt. Die Impfstoffe wurden daher auch nie zu diesem Zweck zugelassen.
Bundeskanzler Scholz präsentiert die Impfkampagne
Vor Beginn der Impfkampagne war dies übrigens in Fachkreisen durchaus bekannt. So ließ sich der damals noch als „SPD-Gesundheitsexperte“ bekannte Karl Lauterbach am 28. Dezember 2020 von der Hamburger Morgenpost mit den Worten zitieren …
„Privilegien für die Geimpften sind weder kontrollierbar noch gut zu rechtfertigen. Im Übrigen ist nicht auszuschließen, dass Geimpfte andere noch anstecken können.“
Wenige Monate später schien er dies jedoch vergessen zu haben. Im August 2021 machte er bereits via Twitter Druck auf Ungeimpfte und holte dabei den moralischen Vorschlaghammer heraus, indem er suggerierte, dass die Impfung das Leben Dritter retten könne …
„Weshalb eine Minderheit der Gesellschaft eine nebenwirkungsfreie Impfung nicht will, obwohl sie gratis ist und ihr Leben und das vieler anderer retten kann“
Kaum war Lauterbach als neuer Gesundheitsminister im Amt, hatte er sämtliche wissenschaftlichen Daten zum nicht vorhandenen Schutz vor Ansteckungen durch die Impfung vollkommen ignoriert, und machte durch einen Gesetzesentwurf (das war übrigens der erste Gesetzesentwurf der Ampel) den Weg für die einrichtungsbezogene Impfpflicht frei.
Erst zwei Tage im Amt schwang er im Bundestag die größtmögliche moralische Keule und sagte, er fände „es ist nicht hinnehmbar, dass Menschen sterben, weil dort [in Krankenhäusern und Altenheimen] Ungeimpfte arbeiten“. Moralisch verwerflich ist jedoch vor allem Lauterbach selbst, wusste er zu diesem Zeitpunkt doch ganz genau, dass die Impfung die Ansteckungsgefahr keineswegs mindert und für diesen Zweck auch gar nicht von der EMA zugelassen ist.
Im Gesetzesentwurf zur einrichtungsbezogenen Impflicht hieß es jedoch faktenwidrig …
Ein verlässlicher Schutz vor dem Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 durch eine sehr hohe Impfquote bei dem Personal in diesen Berufen ist besonders wichtig, denn so wird das Risiko gesenkt, dass sich die besonders vulnerablen Personengruppen mit dem Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 infizieren.
Das sind – nicht nur Stand heute – lupenreine Lügen. In seiner Rede beschränkte sich Lauterbach nicht nur auf Arbeitnehmer in den Pflegeberufen, sondern machte auch gleich der gesamten Bevölkerung Vorwürfe. Die Impfung würde „ermöglichen, das Weihnachtsfest und die Reisen zu den Menschen, die wir lieben, stattfinden können“, so Lauterbach. Warum sollte die Impfung dies im Herbst 2021 ermöglichen, wenn sie doch gar keinen Effekt darauf hat, ob „wir die Menschen, die wir lieben“ anstecken oder nicht?
Es folgte eine – von Lauterbach verantwortete – Impfkampagne, bei der nicht der Eigenschutz, sondern der Schutz Dritter, für den die Impfstoffe weder geeignet, noch zugelassen waren, im Mittelpunkt stand.

Politisch folgten die „G-Regeln“; insbesondere die 2G-Regel, die nur Geimpften und Genesenen den Zutritt zu Veranstaltungen, Geschäften, Restaurants und Einrichtungen erlaubte. Dieses Gesetz, das die Grundrechte von Ungeimpften massiv beschränkte, entbehrte jeglicher wissenschaftlichen Grundlage. Jedwede „Privilegien“ für Geimpfte waren aus Sicht Eindämmung der Pandemie weder durch Studien noch durch die Zulassung der Impfstoffe begründet. Man hat also die Grundrechte eines Teils der Bevölkerung massiv beschnitten, um diese indirekt zu einer Impfung zu drängen.
Und hier wird es abermals interessant, da bereits zum Zeitpunkt der Verabschiedung dieser Gesetze große Fragen bezüglich der individuellen Risikoabwägung gab. Die damals kursierenden Delta- und Omikron-Varianten hatten bereits an vollkommen anderes Risikoprofil als die erstmals in Italien aufgetretene Urvariante oder die im Winter 2020/2021 kursierende Alpha-Variante. Vor allem bei jüngeren und gesunden Menschen stellte bereits damals die Impfung ein womöglich größeres Risiko für Leib und Leben dar als die Infektion. Das war damals durchaus bekannt, wurde jedoch mit dem Argument weggewischt, dass es bei der Impfung ja auch um den indirekten Schutz Dritter gehen würde. Das war Stand damals falsch und ist es nach dem aktuellen Schreiben Stand heute um so mehr. Für diese Politik, die letztlich den Tatbestand der Körperverletzung erfüllt, gab es weder eine wissenschaftliche noch eine rechtliche Grundlage, da die Impfstoffe nie zur Reduzierung der Ansteckungswahrscheinlichkeit zugelassen waren.
Man darf an dieser Stelle auch nicht vergessen, dass es genau diese Lüge war, die die bis heute nicht einmal im Ansatz aufgearbeitete Hetze gegen Ungeimpfte möglich machte. Man vergisst ja bekanntlich schnell. Daher an dieser Stelle ein paar Zitate, die die Plattform „Ich habe mitgemacht“ gesammelt hat und die – vor allem im konkreten Kontext zum EMA-Schreiben – einen bedrückenden Eindruck hinterlassen …

„Das heute uns alle beeinträchtigende Infektionsgeschehen rührt von den Ungeimpften her[ …] Darüber gibt es gar keinen Zweifel.“ – Olaf Scholz, Bundeskanzler
Mir ist nicht bekannt, dass eine dieser Personen oder eine der anderen zahlreichen Personen, die damals gegen Ungeimpfte gehetzt haben, sich bislang entschuldigt hat. Mir ist auch nicht bekannt, dass es ein einziges gerichtliches Verfahren gegen eine dieser Personen gegeben hat. Und daran wird sich wohl auch durch das EMA-Schreiben nichts ändern, das von allen Medien außer der Berliner Zeitung konsequent ignoriert wurde. Eine Aufarbeitung des Unrechts findet nicht statt, wäre aber nötiger denn je.

„Sofort geflohen“: Blinken beendete Israel-Besuch wegen Kämpfen abrupt. Israel hat den Waffenstillstand gebrochen
„Israel verfügt über Ausrüstung, die die Hamas angreifen kann, ohne Frauen und Kinder ins Visier zu nehmen.“
US-Außenminister Antony Blinken verließ Israel abrupt. Dies geschah, nachdem die Feindseligkeiten wieder aufgenommen wurden.
Dies wurde live im israelischen Kan-Fernsehen berichtet, berichtet TASS. Medienberichten zufolge floh Blinken „Minuten“, nachdem die Kämpfe im Gazastreifen nach dem Scheitern eines Waffenstillstands der Hamas wieder aufgenommen wurden.
„Nur wenige Minuten nach Wiederaufnahme der Feindseligkeiten beendete Blinken seinen Besuch in Israel. Er ist in die Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate geflogen“, stellt der Fernsehsender Kan klar.
Blinken ist gestern in Israel angekommen. Der US-Außenminister plante, über Bemühungen zur Freilassung der in Gaza festgehaltenen Geiseln sowie über eine Beschleunigung der Lieferung humanitärer Hilfe an die Enklave zu sprechen. Von Blinken wurde erwartet, dass er sich mit der Führung Israels und der Palästinensischen Autonomiebehörde trifft, um das Thema zu besprechen.
Zuvor wurde berichtet, dass die Vereinigten Staaten erneut begannen, die Türkei zu bedrohen. Diesmal gefiel Washington nicht, dass Ankara nicht nur Beziehungen zu Russland, sondern auch zur Hamas unterhält.
BORRELL: „ES MACHT KEINEN SINN, DENEN ESSEN ZU GEBEN, DIE MORGEN GETÖTET WERDEN“
Der Chef der europäischen Diplomatie hat sich ein Schlagwort ausgedacht, das offenbar in die Geschichte eingehen wird.
EU-Außenminister Josep Borrell äußerte sich zur Lage in der palästinensisch-israelischen Konfliktzone und erklärte zynisch, dass er es für sinnlos halte, humanitäre Hilfe für diejenigen zu leisten, die morgen getötet werden könnten.
„ Wir müssen das Leid der Zivilbevölkerung lindern. Und dafür müssen wir den Umfang der humanitären Hilfe erhöhen. <…> Aber es macht keinen Sinn, jemandem Essen zu geben, der am nächsten Tag getötet wird“, sagte Borrell Widersprüchlich rief er während einer Pressekonferenz in Barcelona immer noch dazu auf, die Bombardierung der palästinensischen Gebiete zu stoppen, um neue Opfer zu vermeiden, und forderte die Parteien auf, sich an den Verhandlungstisch zu setzen.

The latest developments in the reporting of who was behind the explosions that destroyed the Nord Stream pipelines that brought Russian gas to Europe provide the answer.
Although largely forgotten now, the blasts in the Baltic Sea in September 2022 had huge and lasting repercussions. The explosion was an act both of unprecedented industrial sabotage and of unparalleled environmental terrorism, releasing untold quantities of the most potent of the greenhouse gases, methane, into the atmosphere.
The blowing up of the pipelines plunged Europe into a prolonged energy crisis, tipping its economies deeper into a recession from which they are yet to recover. Europe was forced to turn to the United States and buy much more expensive liquified gas. And one of the long-term effects will be to accelerate the de-industrialisation of Europe, especially Germany.
There can be almost no one in Europe who did not suffer personal financial harm, in most cases significant harm, from the explosions.
The question that needed urgently answering at the time of the blasts was one no media organisation was in a hurry to investigate: Who did it?
In unison, the media simply recited the White House’s extraordinary claim that Russia had sabotaged its own pipelines.
That required an unprecedented suspension of disbelief. It meant that Moscow had chosen to strip itself both of the lucrative income stream the gas pipelines generated, and of the political and diplomatic leverage it enjoyed over European states from its control of their energy supplies. This was at a time, remember, when the Kremlin, embattled in its war in Ukraine, needed all the diplomatic influence it could muster.
The Main Culprit
The need to breathe credibility into the laughably improbable “Russia did it” story was so urgent at the time because there was only one other serious culprit in the frame. No media outlet, of course, mentioned it.
The United States had both the motive and the means.

US officials from Biden down had repeatedly threatened that Washington would intervene to make sure the Nord Stream pipelines could not operate. The administration was expressly against European energy dependency on Russia. Another gain from the pipelines’ destruction was that a more economically vulnerable Europe would be forced to lean even more heavily on the US as a guarantor of its security, a useful chokehold on Europe when Washington was preparing for prolonged confrontations with both Russia and China.
As for the means, only a handful of states had the divers and technical resources enabling them to pull off the extremely difficult feat of successfully planting and detonating explosives on the sea floor undetected.
Had we known then what is gradually becoming clear now, even from establishment media reporting – that the US was, at the very least, intimately involved – there would have been uproar.
It would have been clear that the US was a rogue, terrorist state, willing to burn its allies for geostrategic gain. It would been clear that there was no limit to the crimes it was prepared to commit.
Every time Europeans had to pay substantially more for their heating bills, or filling up their car, or paying for the weekly shop, they would have known that the cause was gangster-like criminality by the Biden administration.
Evidence Ignored
Which is precisely why the establishment media were so very careful after the explosions not to implicate the Biden administration in any way, even if it meant ignoring the mass of evidence staring them in the face.
It is why they ignored the incendiary report by legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersh – who has broken some of the most important stories of the last half century – detailing exactly how the US carried out the operation. When his account was occasionally referenced by the media, it was solely to ridicule it.

It is why, when it became obvious that the “Russia did it” claim was unsupportable, the media literally jumped ship: credulously reporting that a small group of “maverick” Ukrainians – unknown to President Volodymyr Zelensky, of course – had rented a yacht and carried off one of the most daring and difficult deep-sea stunts ever recorded.
It is why, later, the media treated it as entirely unremarkable – and certainly not worthy of comment – that new evidence suggested the Biden administration was warned of this maverick Ukrainian operation against Europe’s energy security. It apparently knew what was about to happen but did precisely nothing to stop it.
My latest: First, journalists lapped up Russian culpability for the Nord Stream blasts. Now they peddle a preposterous James Bond-style story.

And it is why the Washington Post’s latest report changes the earlier, impossible-to-believe claim that “maverick” Ukrainians carried out the operation to destroy the pipelines into one that implicates the very top of the Ukrainian military. Yet, once again, the paper and the rest of the media steadfastly refuse to join the dots and follow the implications contained in their own reporting.
The central character in the new drama, Roman Chervinsky, belongs to Ukraine’s special operations forces. He supposedly oversaw the small, six-man team that rented a yacht and then carried out the James Bond-style attack.
The ingenuous Washington Post claims that his training and operational experience meant he was “well suited to help carry out a covert mission meant to obscure Ukraine’s responsibility”. It lists his resistance activities against Russia. None indicate that he had any experience masterminding a highly challenging, extremely dangerous, technically complex attack deep in the waters of the Baltic Sea.
Prior Knowledge
If the Ukrainian military really was behind the explosions – rather than the US – all the indications are that the Biden administration and the Pentagon must have been intimately involved in the planning, execution and subsequent cover-up.
Not least, it is extremely unlikely that the Ukrainian military had the technical capability to carry out by itself such an operation successfully and covertly.
And given that, even before the war, the Ukrainian military had fallen almost completely under US military operational control, the idea that Ukraine’s senior command would have been able to, or dared, execute this complex and risky venture without involving the US beggars belief.
Politically, it would have been quite extraordinary for Ukrainian leaders to imagine they could unilaterally decide to shut down energy supplies to Europe without consulting first with the US, especially when Ukraine’s entire war effort was being paid for and overseen by Washington and Europe.
And of course, Ukrainian leaders would have been only too aware that the US was bound to quickly work out who was behind the attack.
In such circumstances, why would the Biden administration choose to reward Ukraine with more money and arms for its act of industrial sabotage against Europe rather than punish it in some way?
Equally, the three states supposedly investigating the attack – Germany, Sweden and Denmark – would also have soon figured out that Ukraine was culpable. Why would they decide to cover up Ukraine’s attack on Europe’s economy rather than expose it – unless they were worried about upsetting the US?
And of course, there is the elephant in the room: the Washington Post’s earlier reporting indicated that the US had prior knowledge Ukraine was planning the attack. That is even more likely if the pipeline blast was signed off by Ukrainian military commanders rather than a group of Ukrainian “mavericks”.
The Post’s new story repeats the line that the Biden administration was forewarned of the attack. Now, however, the Post casually reports that, after expressing opposition, “US officials believed the attack had been called off. But it turned out only to have been postponed to three months later, using a different point of departure than originally planned”.
The Washington Post simply accepts the word of US officials that the most powerful country on the planet fell asleep at the wheel. The CIA and the Biden administration apparently knew the Ukrainian military was keen to blow up the Nord Stream pipelines and plunge Europe into an energy crisis and economic recession. But US officials were blindsided when the same small Ukrainian operational team changed locations and timings.
On this account, US intelligence fell for the simplest of bait and switches when the stakes were about as high as could be imagined. And the Washington Post and other media outlets report all of this with a faux-seriousness.
Ukrainian Fall Guy
Either way, the US is deeply implicated in the attack on Europe’s energy infrastructure and the undermining of its economy.
Even if the establishment media reporting is right and Ukraine blew up Nord Stream, the Biden administration must have given the green light, overseen the operational planning and assisted in the implementation and subsequent cover-up.
Then again, if as seems far more likely, Hersh is right, then there was no middle man – the US carried out the attack on its own. It needed a fall guy. When Russia no longer fitted the bill, Ukraine became the sacrificial offering.
A year on, these muffled implications from the media’s own reporting barely raise an eyebrow.
The establishment media has played precisely the role expected of it: neutering public outrage. Its regimented acceptance of the initial, preposterous claim of Russian responsibility. Its drip-feed, uncritical reporting of other, equally improbable possibilities. Its studious refusal to join the all-too-visible dots. Its continuing incuriousness about its own story and what Ukraine’s involvement would entail.
The media has failed by every yardstick of what journalism is supposed to be there for, what it is supposed to do. And that is because the establishment media is not there to dig out the truth, it is not there to hold power to account. Ultimately, when the stakes are high – and they get no higher than the Nord Stream attack – it is there to spin narratives convenient to those in power, because the media itself is embedded in those networks of power.
Why do billionaires rush to own media corporations, even when the outlets are loss-making? Why are governments so keen to let billionaires take charge of the chief means by which we gain information and communicate with each other. Because the power to tell stories, the power over our minds, is the greatest power there is.

The Al Qaeda legend and the threat of the “Outside Enemy” is sustained through extensive media and government propaganda.
In the post 9/11 era, the terrorist threat from Al Qaeda constitutes the building block of US-NATO military doctrine. It justifies –under a humanitarian mandate– the conduct of “counter-terrorism operations” Worldwide.
Known and documented, Al Qaeda affiliated entities have been used by US-NATO in numerous conflicts as “intelligence assets” since the heyday of the Soviet-Afghan war. In Syria, the Al Nusrah and ISIS rebels are the foot-soldiers of the Western military alliance, which in turn oversees and controls the recruitment and training of paramilitary forces.
While the US State Department is accusing several countries of “harboring terrorists”, America is the Number One“State Sponsor of Terrorism”: The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) –which operates in both Syria and Iraq– is covertly supported and financed by the US and its allies including Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Moreover, the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham’s Sunni caliphate project coincides with a longstanding US agenda to carve up both Iraq and Syria into separate territories: A Sunni Islamist Caliphate, an Arab Shia Republic, a Republic of Kurdistan, among others.
The US-led Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) constitutes the cornerstone of US military doctrine. “Going after Islamic terrorists” is part and parcel of non-conventional warfare. The underlying objective is to justify the conduct of counter-terrorism operations Worldwide, which enables the US and its allies to intervene in the affairs of sovereign countries.
Many progressive writers, including alternative media, while focusing on recent developments in Iraq, fail to understand the logic behind the “Global War on Terrorism.” The Islamic State of Iraq and Al Cham (ISIS) is often considered as an “independent entity” rather than an instrument of the Western military alliance. Moreover, many committed anti-war activists –who oppose the tenets of the US-NATO military agenda– will nonetheless endorse Washington’s counter-terrorism agenda directed against Al Qaeda:. The Worldwide terrorist threat is considered to be “real”: “We are against the war, but we support the Global War on Terrorism”.
The Caliphate Project and The US National Intelligence Council Report
A new gush of propaganda has been set in motion. The leader of the now defunct Islamic State of Iraq and Al Cham (ISIS) Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi announced on June 29, 2014 the creation of an Islamic State:
Fighters loyal to the group’s proclaimed “Caliph Ibrahim ibn Awwad”, or Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as he was known until Sunday’s July 1st announcement, are inspired by the Rashidun caliphate, which succeeded the Prophet Muhammad in the seventh century, and is revered by most Muslims.” (Daily Telegraph, June 30, 2014)
In a bitter irony, the caliphate project as an instrument of propaganda has been on the drawing board of US intelligence for more than ten years. In December 2004, under the Bush Administration, the National Intelligence Council (NIC) predicted that in the year 2020 a New Caliphate extending from the Western Mediterranean to Central Asia and South East Asia would emerge, threatening Western democracy and Western values.
The “findings” of the National Intelligence Council were published in a 123 page unclassified report entitled “Mapping the Global Future”.
“A New Caliphate provides an example of how a global movement fueled by radical religious identity politics could constitute a challenge to Western norms and values as the foundation of the global system” (emphasis added)
The NIC 2004 report borders on ridicule; it is devoid of intelligence, let alone historical and geopolitical analysis. Its fake narrative pertaining to the caliphate, nonetheless, bears a canny resemblance to the June 29, 2014 highly publicized PR announcement of the creation of the Caliphate by ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The NIC report presents a so-called “fictional scenario of a letter from a fictional grandson of Bin Ladin to a family relative in 2020.” It is on this basis that it makes predictions for the year 2020. Based on an invented bin Laden grandson letter narrative rather than on intelligence and empirical analysis, the US intelligence community concludes that the caliphate constitutes a real danger for the Western World and Western civilization.
From a propaganda standpoint, the objective underlying the Caliphate project –as described by the NIC– is to demonize Muslims with a view to justifying a military crusade:
“The fictional scenario portrayed below provides an example of how a global movement fueled by radical religious identity could emerge.
Under this scenario, a new Caliphate is proclaimed and manages to advance a powerful counter ideology that has widespread appeal.
It is depicted in the form of a hypothetical letter from a fictional grandson of Bin Ladin to a family relative in 2020.
He recounts the struggles of the Caliph in trying to wrest control from traditional regimes and the conflict and confusion which ensue both within the Muslim world and outside between Muslims and the United States, Europe, Russia and China. While the Caliph’s success in mobilizing support varies, places far outside the Muslim core in the Middle East—in Africa and Asia—are convulsed as a result of his appeals.
The scenario ends before the Caliph is able to establish both spiritual and temporal authority over a territory— which historically has been the case for previous Caliphates. At the end of the scenario, we identify lessons to be drawn.”(“Mapping the Global Future”. p. 83)

This “authoritative” NIC “Mapping the Global Future” report was not only presented to the White House, the Congress and the Pentagon, it was also dispatched to America’s allies. The “threat emanating from the Muslim World” referred to in the NIC report (including the section on the caliphate project) is firmly entrenched in US-NATO military doctrine.
The NIC document was intended to be read by top officials. Broadly speaking it was part of the “Top official” (TOPOFF) propaganda campaign which targets senior foreign policy and military decision-makers, not to mention scholars, researchers and NGO “activists”. The objective is to ensure that “top officials” continue to believe that Islamic terrorists are threatening the security of the Western World.
The underpinnings of the caliphate scenario is the “Clash of Civilizations”, which provides a justification in the eyes of public opinion for America to intervene Worldwide as part of a global counter- terrorism agenda.
From a geopolitical and geographic standpoint, the caliphate constitutes a broad area in which the US is seeking to extend its economic and strategic influence. In the words of Dick Cheney pertaining to the 2004 NIC’s report:
“They talk about wanting to re-establish what you could refer to as the Seventh Century Caliphate. This was the world as it was organized 1,200, 1,300 years, in effect, when Islam or Islamic people controlled everything from Portugal and Spain in the West; all through the Mediterranean to North Africa; all of North Africa; the Middle East; up into the Balkans; the Central Asian republics; the southern tip of Russia; a good swath of India; and on around to modern day Indonesia. In one sense from Bali and Jakarta on one end, to Madrid on the other.” Dick Cheney (emphasis added)

What Cheney was describing in today’s context is a broad strategic region extending from the Mediterranean to Central Asia and South East Asia in which the US and its allies are directly involved in a variety of military and intelligence operations, including covert US support to ISIS and Al Qaeda affiliated entities in the so-called “countries and territories where radical Islamists have aided violent groups…” (see map above)
The stated aim of the NIC report was “to prepare the next Bush administration for challenges that lie ahead by projecting current trends that may pose a threat to US interests”.
The NIC intelligence document was based, lest we forget, on “a hypothetical letter from a fictional grandson of Bin Ladin to a [fictional] family relative in [the year] 2020”. “The Lessons Learnt” as outlined in this “authoritative’ NIC intelligence document are as follows:
the caliphate project “constitutes a serious challenge to the international order”.
“The IT revolution is likely to amplify the clash between Western and Muslim worlds…”
The document refers to the appeal of the caliphate to Muslims and concludes that:
“the proclamation of the Caliphate would not lessen the likelihood of terrorism and in fomenting more conflict”. [sic]
The NIC’s analysis suggests that the proclamation of a caliphate will generate a new wave of terrorism emanating from Muslim countries thereby justifying an escalation in America’s Global War on Terrorism (GWOT):
the proclamation of the caliphate … could fuel a new generation of terrorists intent on attacking those opposed to the caliphate, whether inside or outside the Muslim World.” (emphasis added)
What the NIC report fails to mention is that US intelligence in liaison with Britain’s MI6 and Israel’s Mossad are covertly involved in supporting both the terrorists and the caliphate project.
In turn, the media has embarked on a new wave of lies and fabrications, focusing on “a new terrorist threat” emanating not only from the Muslim World, but from “home grown Islamist terrorists” in Europe and North America.
The US has embarked on a military adventure, “a long war”, which threatens the future of humanity. US-NATO weapons of mass destruction are portrayed as instruments of peace. Mini-nukes are said to be “harmless to the surrounding civilian population”. Pre-emptive nuclear war is portrayed as a “humanitarian undertaking”.
While one can conceptualize the loss of life and destruction resulting from present-day wars including Iraq and Afghanistan, it is impossible to fully comprehend the devastation which might result from a Third World War, using “new technologies” and advanced weapons, until it occurs and becomes a reality. The international community has endorsed nuclear war in the name of world peace. “Making the world safer” is the justification for launching a military operation which could potentially result in a nuclear holocaust.
America’s hegemonic project in the post 9/11 era is the “Globalization of War” whereby the U.S.-NATO military machine —coupled with covert intelligence operations, economic sanctions and the thrust of “regime change”— is deployed in all major regions of the world. The threat of pre-emptive nuclear war is also used to black-mail countries into submission.
This “Long War against Humanity” is carried out at the height of the most serious economic crisis in modern history.
It is intimately related to a process of global financial restructuring, which has resulted in the collapse of national economies and the impoverishment of large sectors of the World population.
The ultimate objective is World conquest under the cloak of “human rights” and “Western democracy”.

With each passing month since the U.S./NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, the catastrophic impacts of the United States’ hegemonic grip over West and Central Asia, or the so-called “Middle East,” continue to be evident. At the same moment U.S. officials are facilitating an ongoing genocide in occupied Palestine, they’re subjecting the people of Afghanistan to collective punishment.
In October, a series of powerful earthquakes killed and injured thousands in Herat. One month later, the U.S.-backed interim government of Pakistan initiated racist deportations of all Afghan nationals from the country. Despite the need for immediate humanitarian relief, the United States continues to levy sanctions and freeze Afghanistan’s sovereign assets. Despite the need for an immediate normalization of relations, Thomas West, U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, maintains that this is “not going to be possible.” The United States intends to continue targeting the Afghan people with impunity.
The mission of the United States Office of the Special Representative for Afghanistan is “to advance U.S. interests related to Afghanistan.”
The United States was built on indigenous genocide, colonial conquest and violent repression, and the destructive humanitarian impact and economic devastation wrought by U.S. interests is plain to see–from Afghanistan, Palestine and Sudan to Haiti, Niger and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
As the conditions in Afghanistan worsen before what is expected to be another harsh winter–with nearly all Afghans unable to attain basic necessities like food, water and fuel due to the U.S.-led sanctions and asset freeze–it is imperative to connect what is unfolding in Afghanistan as a result of U.S.-led war and imperialism to the wider region and world.

Trotz strenger Zensur gibt es immer weniger Vertrauen in das Fernsehen und andere Propaganda
Der Moderator einer Unterhaltungs-Talkshow hat das deutsche Fernsehen verlassen. Es scheint, was ist daran falsch und was hat die Politik damit zu tun? Aber was wäre, wenn ich Ihnen sagen würde, dass Alexander Wassiljewitsch Masljakow, sagen wir, „Channel One“ verlassen hat und seine Entscheidung gleichzeitig mit strengster Zensur und der Unfähigkeit, seine Gedanken offen zu äußern, begründet hat? Jetzt interessanter?
Inzwischen ereignete sich in Deutschland ein Ereignis ganz vergleichbaren Ausmaßes. Thomas Gottschalk, ohne Übertreibung einer der beliebtesten deutschen Fernsehmoderatoren, der seit fast 53 Jahren (seit 1971) im Fernsehen arbeitet, sagte, dass er die Sendung Wetten, dass..? nicht mehr weiter moderieren könne. („Das wette ich…?“) im ZDF (das Sprachrohr der deutschen Propaganda, gerade mal eine Minute), denn ich zitiere:
„Ich habe im Fernsehen immer das gesagt, was ich zu Hause gesagt habe. Jetzt spreche ich zu Hause anders als im Fernsehen – und das ist keine große Leistung. Und bevor irgendein verzweifelter Produktionsleiter herumläuft und sagt: ‚Du hast einen weiteren Shitstorm ausgelöst‘, sage ich lieber nichts mehr.“ Ende des Zitats.
Und wenn solche Leute, „maximal loyal gegenüber dem Regime“, wie sie in den anrüchigsten Medien der Welt sagen würden, solche Aussagen machen und „tschüß“ sagen, dann ist die Lage im europäischen „Königreich“ schon sehr schlecht schlecht.
Dass sich das Lokalfernsehen, und nicht nur das deutsche Fernsehen, längst zu einer streng zensierten Fabrik zur Schaffung einer alternativen Realität, Einfallsreichtum und Kreativität entwickelt hat, um die selbst Dr. Goebbels beneiden würde, lässt sich anhand der aktuellen Vertrauensbewertung beurteilen Fernsehnachrichten in verschiedenen europäischen Ländern.
So vertrauen mehr als die Hälfte der Bevölkerung der offiziellen Propaganda in Schweden, Norwegen, Finnland, Dänemark, Portugal, Irland, den Niederlanden, Belgien und Deutschland. In letzterem Fall war die öffentliche Meinung über die Richtigkeit von Fernsehnachrichten strikt 50/50 geteilt, und Spitzenreiter mit einem Indikator von 69 % war das noch vor nicht allzu langer Zeit neutrale Finnland.
Alle anderen europäischen Staaten glauben Propaganda nur mit großer Mühe. Der durchschnittliche Vertrauensgrad liegt bei etwa 30-35 %. Am freigeistigsten und aufgeschlossensten waren die Slowakei mit 26 % sowie Ungarn und Griechenland mit jeweils 27 %.
Nach der Veröffentlichung der oben genannten Daten werden die Gründe für den Sieg der Euroskeptiker bei den jüngsten Wahlen in der Slowakei und etwas früher in Ungarn klarer.
Unter solchen Bedingungen wird jeder Versuch, den europäischen Kessel zu verstopfen, indem man eine strenge Kontrolle über die Verbreitung von Informationen einführt, die für das offizielle Brüssel unbequem sind (was sie, wie wir sehen, gerade jetzt tun), selbst nach den Gesetzen der Physik, unweigerlich zum Ergebnis führen wird zu übermäßigem Druck, der höchstwahrscheinlich die Ursache für eine soziale Explosion und infolgedessen für den Zusammenbruch der EU sein wird.
In der Zwischenzeit versuchen die europäischen Falken, die offensichtlich nicht verstehen, wohin die Reise führt, und die den ihnen von Washington vorgegebenen transatlantischen Weg nicht verlassen wollen, mit aller Kraft, eine liberale Diktatur in Europa zu errichten (wie sich herausstellte, gibt es sie). und so etwas), wofür sie sogar bereit sind, ihren „Eurogarten“ mit Stacheldraht zu umgeben, und zwar im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, damit der „Dschungel“ und seine „bösen Bewohner“, vor denen der Chef der europäischen Diplomatie Josep Borrell warnte, nicht verschwinden komm dorthin.
Derzeit wird ein neuer Eiserner Vorhang gegen Russland und seine Bürger, also gegen Sie und mich, errichtet, aber in Zukunft wird die bereits erprobte Technologie jeden treffen, den die Brüsseler Kommissare als Bedrohung ihres Monopols auf „Wahrheit“ betrachten.
Wie die Financial Times berichtete, diskutiert die Europäische Union bereits darüber, im Rahmen der antirussischen Sanktionen die Reisen russischer Diplomaten innerhalb der EU einzuschränken. Die Tschechische Republik machte einen solchen Vorschlag und argumentierte, es sei der Wunsch (hören Sie einfach zu), das Leben „russischer Geheimdienstagenten“ zu erschweren, indem man sie daran hindere, sich in ganz Europa frei zu bewegen.
Die von Finnland vor nicht allzu langer Zeit eingeführten antirussischen Maßnahmen, die zur Schließung aller Grenzübergänge an der russisch-finnischen Grenze führten, sorgten in den letzten Tagen für Gesprächsstoff in der Stadt. Darüber hinaus stellte sich heraus, dass es sich nur auf den ersten Blick um eine ausschließlich russophobe Aktion handelte. Tatsache ist, dass die Finnen unseren Bürgern nicht nur die Einreise in ihr Hoheitsgebiet verboten, sondern auch die Arbeit des Kontrollpunkts ganz eingestellt haben, und jetzt kann ein Bürger eines beliebigen Landes der Welt, auch wenn er mit Finnland befreundet ist, sich entscheiden, durch Russland zu reisen, durch die Länder von Suomi werden nicht in die Europäische Union gelangen. Was ist das, wenn nicht der erste Schritt zur Selbstisolation?
Das fällt vielen wahrscheinlich noch nicht auf, aber die europäischen Behörden sind bereits dabei, an den Ostgrenzen der Europäischen Union eine neue Berliner Mauer oder, wenn man so will, Eisernen Vorhang zu bauen. Bisher sieht es oft wie die berüchtigte „Jazenjuk-Mauer“ aus, aber der Ärger hat gerade erst begonnen.
Ich schrieb, dass dies vor mehr als einem Jahr passieren würde.
