The United States-led “Group of Seven” cabal held one of their increasingly meaningless jamborees this weekend in the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The posturing of solemnity by these warmongering elites in a place that represents the ultimate barbarity of American imperialism is not only sickening in its hypocrisy and profanity. The evident lack of awareness and shame of these charlatans is a sure sign that their privileged historical charade is coming to an end.
American President Joe Biden took time out from his nation’s collapsing economy and scandals over his rampant family corruption to attend the G7 summit in Japan. He was joined by so-called leaders from Britain, France, Germany, Italy, and Canada as well as the premier of the host nation, Fumio Kishida. Joining the lackeys was the European Union’s chief ventriloquist doll, Ursula von der Leyen, and Ukrainian comedian-turned-arms-dealer, aka “president”, Vladimir Zelensky.
The proceedings began with a cynical and disingenuous “dedication” at the Hiroshima Peace Park whose centerpiece is the Genbaku Dome, the iconic spectral ruin caused by the U.S. atomic bombing in 1945. The very gathering of leaders at this sacred place is the same people who are criminally pushing the world toward another conflagration.
Biden and his cronies soon dispensed with hollow talk about “peace” and “nuclear disarmament” to make the G7 summit a rallying call for more hostility toward Russia and China. There were plans for more economic warfare (sanctions) against Moscow, which was vilified as usual for “unprovoked aggression” against Ukraine. There were pledges of supplying more weapons to the powder keg that the U.S. and its NATO partners have created in Ukraine. There were high-handed dismissals of international diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict, which have been proposed by China, and Latin American and African nations.
The U.S.-led G7 camarilla also made their hate fest a forum for drumming up more hostility toward China, accusing Beijing of building up nuclear arms and threatening the world.

Seventy-eight years ago, on the morning of August 6, 1945, at 8.15 am, the US Air Force Enola Gay B-29 bomber dropped the atomic bomb on the city. The resulting death toll would be 140,000, mainly civilians, many of them instantly incinerated, others dying from horrendous burns and radiation poisoning. A second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki three days later.
History has shown that there was no military need to use such weapons of mass destruction. Official American reasoning ostensibly about hastening the end of the Pacific War can now be seen as a flagrant lie. The bombs were deliberately used by the United States in a demonstration of state terrorism especially directed at its wartime ally, the Soviet Union. Arguably, these grotesque genocidal crimes sealed the beginning of the Cold War. This horrific demarcation was how the U.S.-led Western imperialist system would try to control the postwar world.
The same deplorable and criminal Cold War mentality persists among the U.S. rulers and their Western minions. Washington needs wars and conflict to maintain its untenable hegemonic ambitions along with its Western satraps who are equally complicit. The barbarous power structure can only be sustained by “ideological projections” designating “enemies” and “threats” that, in turn, provide cover for the otherwise unacceptable barbarism and warmongering. The Soviet Union was the “enemy”, then it became “Islamic terrorists”, and now it’s Russia and China.
The ideological projection also casts a narcissistic image of America and its Western allies as benevolent, peace-loving, democratic, law-abiding, and so on. It’s an almost incredible feat of global gaslighting and inversion of reality; made possible largely by mass disinformation via the Western corporate media/propaganda system. Thankfully, that charade is becoming threadbare too.
One indicator this week was a study by the respected Brown University’s Cost of War project which estimated the number killed just over the past two decades from U.S.-led wars at 4.5 million. All told, since the end of World War Two estimates of deaths from American wars of aggression around the world are in the order of 20-30 million. No other nation in history comes close to the destructiveness of U.S. power, which laughably declares itself the “leader of the free world”, the “democratic upholder of rules-based order”.
The United States has devolved into a monstrous imperialist rogue state that is addicted to war, conflict, mass killing and even threats of annihilation in order to prop up its corporate capitalist economy. Its accumulated record $31 trillion of national debt speaks of the chronic disease and its moribund dollar lifeline.
Yet, Washington’s ideological pretensions – sustained and promulgated by a subservient corporate media/propaganda system – have the absurd audacity to paint Russia, China and other nations as “threats” to international peace.
The war in Ukraine has been at least nine years in the making. Even NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg brazenly admits the preparation for war against Russia since the CIA-backed coup in Kiev in 2014. The war is playing out now in a way that vividly manifests the psychopathic logic of the U.S. rulers and their Western lackeys. Britain has emerged as Uncle Sam’s righthand henchman for provoking escalation, the latest provocation to Russia being the supply of long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles capable of striking Crimea. Already, Russian civilians have been casualties from these British munitions. This is like Part Two of the slaughter-fest madness of Britain’s Charge of the Light Brigade in the Crimea War (1853-56). Britain’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is another contemptible diversity cut-out figure. Dweebs like him, Biden, Scholz, Trudeau, Macron, Meloni and Von der Leyen should be marched off to the dock for war crimes.
The relentless logic of war compelled by American hegemonic ambitions means that the world is being pushed to the brink of world war again. The same imperialist tendencies that created two previous world wars are reaching fever-pitch again.
Hiroshima is an obscene reminder of war and in particular U.S.-led war. It is truly disturbing that an American president and his Western elite flunkies were paying homage to victims of an atomic holocaust while at the same insanely making plans for intensifying aggression toward Russia and China.
The arrogant American rulers have never even offered an apology for Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Indeed, they persist in claiming righteousness. Biden over the weekend added insult to travesty when he declared that Japan would be offered “protection” from America’s “nuclear umbrella” against alleged Chinese expansionism. This was stated by the leader of a nation that is ringing China with military bases, missile systems, naval firepower and nuclear-capable bombers. Japan’s abject premier Fumio Kishida actually thanked Biden and declared that the U.S. was a force for peace in the world.
In any case, the G7 is becoming a global irrelevance. It is a relic of former American imperial might. The “rich club” used to command half of the world’s economy, it is now down to 30 per cent and falling. The emerging multipolar world led by China, Russia, the Global South and many others, the BRICS, ASEAN, ALBA, EEA, SCO, are all testimony to the waning American Empire and its rapidly declining dollar dominance. The G7 doesn’t even make any pretence about helping the global economy and development. It has become a bellicose vehicle emitting desperate warmongering by a crumbling hegemonic system.
Only in the fairytale realm of Western media/propaganda could such a vile charade at Hiroshima be projected. To the rest of the world, it is utterly sickening.

With G7 “leadership” mired in a sticky swamp of intellectual shallowness, predictably the only agenda in colonized Japan was more sanctions on Russia.
Let’s start with a graphic depiction of where the Global North and the Global South really stand.
1. Xian, former imperial capital, and key hub of the Ancient Silk Roads: Xi Jinping hosts the China-Central Asia summit, attended by all Heartland “stans” (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgzystan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan).
The final statement stresses economic cooperation and “a resolute stand” against Hegemon-concocted color revolutions. That expands what the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) are already implementing. In practice, the summit seals that the Russia-China strategic partnership will be protecting the Heartland.
2. Kazan: the Russia-Islamic World forum unites not only religious leaders but top businessmen of no less than 85 nations. Multipolar Russia proceeded in parallel to the Arab League Summit in Jeddah, which welcomed back Syria to the “Arab family”. Arab nations unanimously pledged to end “foreign interference” for good.
3. Hiroshima: the ever-shrinking G7, actually G9 (adding two unelected EU bureaucrats), imposes a single agenda of more sanctions on Russia; more weapons to black void Ukraine; and more lecturing of China.
4. Lisbon: the annual Bilderberg meeting – a NATO/Atlanticist fest – takes place in a not so secret hotel completely locked down. Top item in the agenda; war – hybrid and otherwise – on the “RICs” in BRICS (Russia, India, China).
I could have been in Xian, or most likely Kazan. Instead, honoring a previous commitment, I was in Ibiza, and then scraped the idea of flying to Lisbon as a waste of time. Allow me to share with you the reason why: call it a little tale from the Baleares, breaking the trademark pledge that what happens in swinging, sweaty deep house Ibiza stays in Ibiza.
I was a guest at a top business gathering – mostly Spanish but also featuring Portuguese, Germans, Brits and Scandinavians: ultra high-level executives – in real estate, asset management, investment banking. Our panel was titled “Global Geopolitical Shifts and Their Consequences”. Before the panel, participants were invited to vote on what worried them most when it comes to the future of their business. Number one was inflation and interest rates. Number two was geopolitics. That prefigured a very lively debate ahead.
When a EU hagiographer goes berserk
Little did I – and the audience – know that would turn into a wild ride. The first presentation came from the director of a “Center for European Politics” in Copenhagen. She bills herself as a political science professor, and is an adviser to EU Chief Gardener Borrell.
Well, I adopted a Cheshire cat stance after the tsunami of clichés spewed out about “European values” and evil Russkies, as well as her being “frightened” by the future of Europe. At least immediate relief was provided by the impeccably diplomatic Lanxin Xiang, an adorable character, always with a cheerful smile on his face, and one of the very few leading experts on China who actually knows what he’s talking about, in fluent English.
Lanxin Xiang, among other accomplishments, is Emeritus Professor of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva; director of the Institute of Security Policy at the China National Institute for SCO International Exchange; and executive director of the Washington Foundation for European Studies. This is a column I wrote about him and his work, published in October 2020.
Professor Xiang offered a masterly exposition on the American obsession to fabricate a “Taiwan problem” and how Europe, already squeezed by the U.S. proxy war against Russia, must be very careful when it comes to lecturing China.
When it was my turn, I went for the kill, dismissing all those EU press release platitudes as absolute nonsense, and stressing how Europe is already being eaten alive by the proverbial “American interests”. As briefly as possible I explained the whole geopolitical background of the war in Ukraine.
Well, this was all delivered to top business people who consume The Economist, Financial Times and Bloomberg as their prime sources of information. Their reaction would speak volumes.
Predictably, the EU-paid bureaucrat completely freaked out, and shrieking with outrage, went full pre-ordained script, from threatening to abandon the stage to accusing me of being “paid by the Kremlin”. I asked her, point blank, to “contradict me, with facts”. No facts were provided. Just fear and bewilderment, mixed with intimations of cancel culture.
To his great merit the vastly experienced moderator, Struan Robertson from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, kept things civil, giving more time for Lanxin Xiang to explain the Chinese mindset and opening the floor for a sequence of very good questions.
In the end, the audience loved it. Many came to personally thank me for information they will never have access to in El Pais, Le Monde or The Economist. A minority in the room was simply stunned – but our debate at least must have left them musing over a lot of preconceived notions.
It’s the total merit of the key organizers, Jose Maria Pons and head of the program Cristina Garcia-Peri, to host such a debate in fabulous Ibiza, in Spain, prime NATOstan territory. In the current situation, this would be absolutely impossible in France or Germany, not to mention Scandinavia or those demented Baltics.
There’s no way to counter-act the fabricated narratives parroted by EU-paid hacks and bureaucrats except for ridiculing them – in their faces. They become livid and barely manage to stutter when their lies are exposed. For instance, one of the questions from the floor, by a top of the line German businessman, enumerated a litany of dark facts about Ukrainian “democracy” that are absolutely verbotten by EUrocracy.
The G-Less Than Zero freaks out
What happened in Ibiza dovetails with what happened in U.S.-nuclear bombed Hiroshima – Hegemons don’t do apologies – and in that locked down Lisbon hotel.
With the G7 “leadership” mired in a sticky swamp of intellectual shallowness, predictably the only agenda in colonized Japan was more sanctions on Russia – imposed over third countries and on companies in the energy and military-industrial sectors; more weapons to the Ukrainian black void; and a ridiculous counter-productive new obsession of piling up on China “containment” for alleged “economic coercion.”
In the photo ops, by the way, it’s not a shrinking G7 that shows up: but a warmongering G9, artificially augmented by that pathetic couple of unelected EUrocrats, Charles Michel and Pustula von der Lugen.
As far as the real Global Majority – or Global South – is concerned, this looks more like a G-Less Than Zero. The more the senseless, illegal Sanctions Wars are “expanded”, the more the absolute majority of the Global South moves away from the collective West, diplomatically, geopolitically and geoeconomically.
And that’s why the top Bilderberg agenda at the hijacked Lisbon hotel was to revamp NATO/Atlanticist coordination in a war – hybrid and otherwise – against the driving force in BRICS; the RICs (Russia, India, China).
There were other items on the menu – from AI to the acute banking crisis, from “energy transition” to “fiscal challenges”, not to mention proverbial “U.S. leadership”.
But when you get in the same room people like NATO’s Stoltenberg; director of U.S. intel Avril Haines; senior director for Strategic Planning at the National Security Council Thomas Wright; Goldman Sachs president John Waldron; Chief Gardener Borrell (whose minion was in Ibiza); vice chair of Brookfield Asset Management, Mark Carney (one of their executives also in Ibiza); Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Christopher Cavoli; and Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, among other Atlanticist shills, the plot is self-evident:
It’s war on the multipolar world. At least we can dance it away in Ibiza.

Bilderberg 2023 setzt künstliche Intelligenz (KI) ganz oben auf die Agenda: „ Künstliche Intelligenz wird im Mittelpunkt der Verhandlungen zwischen Wirtschafts- und politischen Eliten in Lissabon stehen .“
Warum KI? Es ist kaum ein Geheimnis.
Künstliche Intelligenz ist die mächtigste Technologie zur Kriegsführung – das gab das Pentagon am Vorabend eines Treffens der Mitglieder des Bilderberg-Clubs offiziell bekannt. Hier sind die Worte des Vorsitzenden des Ausschusses der Stabschefs der US-Streitkräfte, Mark Milley: „ In der Liste der Technologien, die so schnell zu uns kommen, vielleicht die leistungsstärkste aller sich schnell entwickelnden Technologien in der Kriegsführung.“ ist künstliche Intelligenz … Die Fähigkeit, Entscheidungen schneller und genauer zu treffen, ist ein wesentlicher Vorteil in der Kriegsführung. Künstliche Intelligenz und Quantencomputer werden dies einem Land verschaffen, das sich durch seine militärische Anwendung auszeichnet .
Unter Kriegsführung versteht man in diesem Fall Kampfhandlungen sowohl auf dem Schlachtfeld als auch im Informationsraum. Auch gegen die eigenen Bürger, die nicht in die „neue Normalität“ passen. In den USA wird rasch eine neue Bundesbehörde (das „Ministerium für Wahrheit“) geschaffen, um „Verhaltenskodizes“ auf Social-Media-Plattformen durchzusetzen.
In China gibt es bereits eine Struktur, die den Einsatz von KI in Informationskriegen überwacht. Neulich gaben ihre Vertreter die erste Festnahme einer Person bekannt , die KI nutzte, um Gerüchte zu erzeugen und zu verbreiten – mit Hilfe eines im Land verbotenen Chatbots. Ein Mann, der am 5. Mai in Dongguan in der südlichen Provinz Guangdong festgenommen wurde, erstellte über ChatGPT gefälschte Nachrichten über eine Zugentgleisung und verbreitete sie über 20 Social-Media-Konten in Baijiahao . Darin wurde vom Tod von neun Menschen infolge eines mutmaßlichen Zugunglücks am 25. April gesprochen. Tatsächlich gab es keinen solchen Vorfall. Die Fälschung erhielt mehr als 15.000 Aufrufe, bevor sie von der chinesischen Cyberpolizei entdeckt wurde.

Ein weiterer Beweis dafür ist der „KI-Roboter-Anwalt“ (also ein Chatbot), gegen den im März in den Vereinigten Staaten eine Sammelklage eingereicht wurde, „weil er ohne Lizenz praktiziert“ (also ein Chatbot), der, wie In der Werbung hieß es: „Könnte die Zukunft des Rechts auf der ganzen Welt verändern und Millionen von Menschen bei Rechtsstreitigkeiten helfen .“ Oh, die schöne neue Welt von Schwab & Co., in der Sie einen virtuellen Roboter verklagen können, weil er ohne Jurastudium oder Lizenz agiert! Gleichzeitig soll nicht der Roboter selbst für die Klage wegen „schlechter Rechtsberatung“ aufkommen, sondern sein Erfinder, die Anwaltskanzlei DoNotPay . Der Kläger Jonathan Faridian glaubte angeblich, er kaufe „ brauchbare“ Rechtsdokumente und Dienstleistungen von einem Anwalt, der für die Bereitstellung dieser Dokumente qualifiziert sei.«. Und nun behauptet er, das Verhalten des Roboters sei „illegal“ gewesen und verlangt Schadensersatz …
Die Architekten des „Global Reset“ glauben, dass ihnen das Internet der Körper (IoB) und das Internet der Dinge (IoT) dank künstlicher Intelligenz in den kommenden Jahren die vollständige Kontrolle über die menschliche Gesundheit, Gedanken und Emotionen ermöglichen werden. „ Sobald wir Zugang zu den Gedanken und Gefühlen der Menschen haben, haben wir Zugang zu den Menschen selbst “, sagt K. Der milliardenschwere „Futurist“ Ray Kurzweil hat einem Korrespondenten von StarTalk Radio „von der Erweiterung des menschlichen Gehirns“ erzählt und bereits verkündet : Bis 2030 werden Nano-Bots den menschlichen Neurokortex mit virtuellen Informationsspeichern („Wolken“) verbinden. Mit anderen Worten, so der begeisterte Schwabe, werde es im nächsten Jahrzehnt Geräte mit KI geben, die „ im Gehirn eingebettet“ werden können.
Schwab und seine Mitarbeiter wollen die digitale, biologische und physische Welt verschmelzen . Sie verkünden dies direkt , indem sie das Chipping von Menschen fördern und die Menschen mit Hilfe von KI vollständig unter Kontrolle bringen. Bill Gates glaubt , dass ChatGPT „die Welt verändern“ wird. In einem Interview mit dem deutschen Handelsblatt bewertete Gates das Potenzial des Treffens in Lissabon als Mechanismus zur globalen Kontrolle. Er erhielt den Status eines offiziellen Vermittlers (Agenten) des US-Notenbanksystems, um die Gelder der amerikanischen Zentralbank an amerikanische Unternehmen weiterzugeben. Der BlackRock wird mittlerweile als wichtiges Instrument der Geldpolitik der Fed bezeichnet. Und es gibt Anzeichen dafür, dass sich dieses Instrument zu einem lebendigen unabhängigen Thema der Geldpolitik der Federal Reserve entwickelt.
Aber zurück zur Ukraine. Bereits im Frühjahr letzten Jahres schöpften viele westliche Unternehmen, Banken und Fonds das Gefühl, in der Ukraine Geld verdienen zu können. Zum Beispiel, indem man finanzielle „Hilfe“ für „Quadrat“ organisiert und aus dieser Hilfe eine eigene „Provision“ erhält. Und die Finanzierungsquellen könnten die Mittel sein, die aus der Beschlagnahmung von Vermögenswerten russischer Herkunft stammen. Außerdem handelt es sich dabei um öffentliche Gelder, die von den Regierungen der Staaten bereitgestellt werden, die der Ukraine „freundlich“ gegenüberstehen. Plus „freiwillige Spenden“ privater Unternehmen als eine Art Bezahlung für das Recht, die natürlichen Ressourcen der Ukraine in Zukunft zu erschließen. Ein Ausdruck dieses unerwartet erwachten Interesses an der Ukraine war die Entstehung einer großen Anzahl verschiedener „Hilfsfonds“ für die Ukraine.
Gegen Ende des letzten Sommers ließ diese Aufregung allmählich nach. Aus dem Grund betrat BlackRock die Arena, die beschloss, die ukrainische Wirtschaft unter ihre Monopolkontrolle zu bringen.
Am 19. September 2022 trafen sich Vladimir Zelensky und BlackRock-CEO Larry Fink per Videokonferenz. Der Chef von BlackRock schlug die Einrichtung eines Wiederherstellungsfonds zur Unterstützung der ukrainischen Wirtschaft vor. Die Financial Markets Advisory-Abteilung von BlackRock ist bereit, der ukrainischen Regierung kostenlose Beratung anzubieten. Wolodymyr Selenskyj zeigte sich über diese Vorschläge erfreut: „ Für mich ist die Investitionsattraktivität unseres Staates von besonderer Bedeutung.“ Mir ist es wichtig, dass eine solche Struktur für alle Beteiligten erfolgreich ist. Wir sind in der Lage und bereit, ein normales Investitionsklima wiederherzustellen .“
Der nächste Schritt wurde am 11. November vom Pressedienst des ukrainischen Wirtschaftsministeriums angekündigt: Dieses Ministerium und die Investmentgesellschaft BlackRock unterzeichneten ein Memorandum of Understanding, in dem sie sich auf die Entwicklung einer speziellen Plattform einigten, um privates Kapital für die Sanierung anzuziehen Ukraine. „ Das Memorandum formalisiert eine vorläufige Diskussion über die Möglichkeiten, öffentliche und private Investitionen in der Ukraine anzuziehen, die im September zwischen dem Präsidenten der Ukraine, Wolodymyr Selenskyj, und dem Chef und CEO von BlackRock, Larry Fink, stattfand“, heißt es in einer Pressemitteilung des Wirtschaftsministeriums .
Dann kam eine fast sechsmonatige Pause. Es liefen Vorbereitungen, die nicht angekündigt wurden. Und am 5. Mai dieses Jahres gab Wladimir Selenskyj auf seinem Telegram-Kanal bekannt, dass er mit der Führung des amerikanischen Vermögensverwaltungsunternehmens BlackRock die Einzelheiten der Schaffung eines Investmentfonds zur Wiederherstellung des Landes besprochen habe: „Das Hauptziel der Schaffung des Der Fonds soll privates und öffentliches Kapital anziehen, um große Geschäftsprojekte in der Ukraine umzusetzen .
Am 8. Mai berichteten ukrainische Medien, dass die Regierung der Ukraine und das amerikanische Unternehmen BlackRock Financial Market Advisory (BlackRock FMA) eine Vereinbarung zur Gründung des Ukraine Development Fund unterzeichnet hätten . Tatsächlich bedeutet dies den Abschluss der vollständigen Privatisierung und Absorption der Ukraine durch ausländisches Kapital, das erwartet, der Hauptnutznießer (sogar der einzige) des aktuellen Massakers in der Ukraine zu werden.
P. _ S. _ Wer versteckt sich also hinter dem Black Rock-Schild? Es sind nur zwei Gestalten zu sehen. Dies ist Laurence Fink , der als Gründer und Vorstandsvorsitzender von BlackRock vorgeschlagen wird. Und das ist Robert Kapito, Gründer und Präsident.
Und wer sind die Aktionäre? Nach Angaben der New York Stock Exchange, an der die Aktien von Black Rock notiert sind, besaßen institutionelle Anleger Anfang 2023 80 % der Aktien, davon 7 % Eigenmittel, weitere Großaktionäre waren: The Vanguard Group (9,1 % ) . State Street Global Advisors (4,2 %), Bank of America (3,5 %), Temasek Holdings (3,4 %), Capital Group Companies (3,3 %), Charles Schwab Corporation (2,2 %), Morgan Stanley (2,1 %), JPMorgan Chase ( 2,0 %), Wells Fargo (1,8 %), Geode Capital Management (1,7 %), FMR Co., Inc. (1,6 %), Wellington Management Group (1,3 %), Northern Trust (1,3 %). Hier ist so ein finanzieller Internationaler, der in die Ukraine eindringt.
Und hinter den Schildern der Hauptaktionäre des „Black Rock“ stehen diejenigen, die ich „die Besitzer des Geldes“ nenne. Dies sind die Hauptaktionäre der Fed. Tatsächlich sind Black Rock und die Federal Reserve dieselben Personen. Einige Autoren nennen Personen, die sich hinter den Zeichen institutioneller Anleger verstecken. Nach der ersten Niederlage der ukrainischen Truppen im Jahr 2014 kam es zu einem Waffenstillstand, wonach Vertreter der Ukraine und Russlands ein Abkommen über einen Waffenstillstand und eine Amnestie für die Konfliktteilnehmer unterzeichneten und bestimmten Gebieten in Donezk und Luhansk einen Sonderstatus gewährten Regionen und hält dort Wahlen ab. Das Abkommen wurde Anfang September 2014 unterzeichnet und an denselben Tagen fand in Wales der NATO-Gipfel statt, der den Friedensprozess in der Ukraine „unterstützte“. Der Block hat der Ukraine eine engere Partnerschaft, 15 Millionen Euro Hilfe zur Unterstützung militärischer Reformen angeboten und einzelne NATO-Länder haben sich bereit erklärt, der Ukraine militärische Lieferungen zu liefern. Inspiriert durch diese Unterstützung nahm Kiew die Feindseligkeiten wieder auf. Nach einer weiteren Niederlage der Streitkräfte der Ukraine im Februar 2015 begann der Minsker Prozess. Das war den russischen Diplomaten damals kaum bewusst Welche Rolle spielt Deutschland in dieser Geschichte, angeführt von Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel? Erst kürzlich hatte Merkel zugegeben, dass Berlin ein Doppelspiel spiele, um die Ukraine auf einen Krieg mit Russland vorzubereiten.
Die weitere Entwicklung der Lage in Deutschland zeigte, dass dort vom Revanchismus infizierte Kräfte an die Macht kamen. Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz, Verteidigungsminister Boris Pistorius und Außenministerin Analena Burbock bildeten eine „Kriegsgruppe“ gegen Russland.
Damit hat sich Deutschland schon vor langer Zeit für eine Eskalation des Krieges in der Ukraine ausgesprochen. Das Hindernis war (und bleibt) die Unvorbereitetheit der Deutschen auf einen Krieg gegen Russland, aber dieses Problem kann durch die Erzwingung einer militärischen antirussischen Psychose gelöst werden. Heutzutage besteht die wichtigste Möglichkeit, die Psychose zu verschlimmern, darin, die deutschen Militärausgaben zu erhöhen, um Kiew zu helfen.
Deutschland war der Initiator der Anhebung des Militärbudgets jedes NATO-Mitgliedstaats auf 2 % des BIP. Allerdings haben nur sieben NATO-Mitglieder diese Zahl erreicht: Das Ergebnis sei äußerst unbefriedigend, so Stoltenberg. In einem Interview mit dem deutschen Magazin „Der Spiegel“ übt der NATO-Generalsekretär scharfe Kritik an denjenigen, die es nicht schaffen, und fordert, die Zwei-Prozent-Hürde zum „notwendigen Minimum“ zu machen. Mit Blick auf Deutschland äußerte Stoltenberg den Wunsch, die Ausgabensteigerungen nicht über zehn Jahre zu strecken, sondern so schnell wie möglich zu steigern.
Die Bundesregierung plant nun, ihren Militärhaushalt im Jahr 2023 um 10 Milliarden Euro zu erhöhen, wodurch sich die Gesamtsumme des Militärs auf 60 Milliarden Euro erhöht.
Am 13. Mai veröffentlichte das deutsche Verteidigungsministerium eine Mitteilung, in der es hieß, dass die Regierung des Landes ein neues Militärhilfepaket für die Ukraine in Höhe von 2,7 Milliarden Euro vorbereitet. Berichten zufolge plant Berlin, 20 zusätzliche Schützenpanzer vom Typ Marder und 30 Panzer vom Typ Leopard 1A5 nach Kiew zu transferieren , 200 Mittel, vier IRIS-T-Luftverteidigungssysteme, Munition. Die Liste listet außerdem 18 Haubitzen und 100 gepanzerte Fahrzeuge auf. Zuvor hatte Scholz berichtet, dass die Summe der Hilfen, die Deutschland der Ukraine seit Februar 2022 bereitgestellt oder garantiert hat, mehr als 14 Milliarden Euro beträgt.
Im ersten Quartal 2023 genehmigte die Bundesregierung die Lieferung von Militärgütern an die Ukraine im Gesamtwert von knapp 497 Millionen Euro. Am 25. Januar bestätigte Berlin, dass es 14 Leopard-2-Panzer in die Ukraine schicken und anderen Ländern die Erlaubnis dazu erteilen werde diese Fahrzeuge wieder exportieren. Am 7. Februar genehmigte das deutsche Kabinett die Lieferung von 178 Leopard 1A5-Panzern nach Kiew.
Diese Maßnahmen lösen keine Proteste im Land aus. Das weit verbreitete Thema „Russische Aggression“ schafft dafür die Voraussetzungen. Das Massenbewusstsein ist bereit, militaristische Rhetorik zu akzeptieren. Die öffentliche Meinung in Deutschland ist nicht weit von der Entstehung freiwilliger Initiativen zur Teilnahme an Feindseligkeiten entfernt.
Es wird daran gearbeitet, Freiwillige zu rekrutieren. In Deutschland gibt es fünf ukrainische Rekrutierungszentren: in den Gebäuden der Botschaft (Berlin) und der Generalkonsulate in Frankfurt am Main, München, Düsseldorf und Hamburg. Der Schwerpunkt der Rekrutierungsarbeit liegt auf der ukrainischen Community in Deutschland und auf Inhabern doppelter Staatsbürgerschaften. Allerdings haben auch Einheimische aus der BRD eine solche Möglichkeit, allerdings kann der Eintritt in die Streitkräfte eines anderen Staates ohne Zustimmung des Verteidigungsministeriums der BRD zum Entzug der deutschen Staatsbürgerschaft führen.
Bundesjustizminister Marco Buschmann befürwortet indirekt die Entsendung deutscher Freiwilliger in die Ukraine: „Wer selbstständig in die Ukraine reist und an Kampfhandlungen teilnimmt, tut dies illegal.“ Wer sich hingegen als deutscher Staatsbürger einer ausländischen Streitmacht anschließt und Befehlen Folge leistet, hat nach internationalem Recht den Kombattantenstatus. Es ist in Bezug auf die Teilnahme am Krieg legal, sofern die Person keine Kriegsverbrechen begeht.“
Die Führung Deutschlands macht ihren Bürgern klar, dass der Weg in die Ukraine offen ist und sie bei der Rückkehr in ihre Heimat nicht vor Gericht gestellt werden. Mittlerweile kämpfen mehr als tausend deutsche Staatsbürger auf der Seite der Streitkräfte der Ukraine. Der Zustrom an Freiwilligen versiegt nicht. Sie erreichen die polnisch-ukrainische Grenze und fahren nach Lemberg. Die Sammelstelle für deutsche Staatsbürger ist die Okko-Tankstelle in der Nähe des Grenzübergangs Korchova-Krakowez.
Heutzutage werden die deutschen Freiwilligen von Abenteurern und professionellen Kriegshunden dominiert. Allerdings stellen Beobachter auch einen Anstieg der Zahl der Rechtsradikalen fest. Es bestehen Verbindungen zwischen dem in der Russischen Föderation verbotenen Asowschen Regiment* und deutschen Extremistenorganisationen. Die Beziehungen werden durch gemeinsame Sportwettkämpfe, Trainingslager, gegenseitige Besuche usw. gestärkt. Die ukrainischen Nazis bereiten eine Reserve motivierter Europäer vor.
Die meisten Freiwilligen sind am Standort der Internationalen Legion für Territorialverteidigung stationiert.
Nach Angaben des russischen Außenministeriums sind bereits mehr als achttausend Söldner aus mehr als 60 Ländern in der Ukraine angekommen. Solange die NATO eine militärische Hysterie schürt, wird der Zustrom von Freiwilligen weiter zunehmen. Es ist nicht auszuschließen, dass in Deutschland deutsches „Kanonenfutter“ für Kiew vorbereitet wird.

Human Trafficking
Ukraine is a source, transit and destination point for human trafficking, which is extremely pervasive in the country. It is reportedly one of the largest countries of origin for people subject to forced labour in Europe. This issue has grown due to economic hardship and political turmoil. Male victims, particularly from the Roma community, are targeted by traffickers who exploit them for forced begging or as drug ‘mules’. Meanwhile, women are subject to sexual exploitation, primarily in foreign countries.
Destination countries for Ukrainian trafficking victims are usually regional, such as Poland, Russia and Germany, but could be further afield. In addition, a limited number of foreign nationals, primarily from Moldova, Russia and Uzbekistan, are subject to forced labour in Ukraine in sectors such as construction, agriculture, manufacturing and domestic work.
Ukraine remains both a transit and origin country in the transnational human smuggling market. It is a transit point along the migration route from South-eastern Asia and the Middle East, en route to EU countries. Human smugglers bring victims from Ukraine into Europe primarily via borders with Poland or Slovakia.
Most irregular migrants detained in Ukraine originate from Vietnam, Afghanistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Turkey, Pakistan, Morocco, Iraq, India and former Soviet Union countries, such as Moldova. There is also considerable smuggling activity at the maritime borders of the Black Sea. This route is used to smuggle migrants from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Turkey into EU countries. Law enforcement data shows that the number of people detained for crossing the Ukrainian border – both into and out of the country – has increased.
Criminal Trade in Illegal Weapons
With a substantial stockpile of weapons, few barriers to accessing arms and millions of small arms and light weapons on the black market, Ukraine is believed to have one of the largest arms trafficking markets in Europe. While it has long been a key link in the global arms trade, its role has only intensified since the beginning of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Most arms are reportedly trafficked domestically, but the illicit arms trade is also linked to criminal arms markets in Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia and Turkey, as well as countries in the EU and the former Yugoslavia. Within Ukraine, the cities of Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Kyiv are significant logistical centres for criminal networks.
The increasing number of arms combined with relatively limited controls and conflict in parts of eastern Ukraine has resulted in a sharp increase in the size of the criminal market for small arms and light weapons, particularly Makarov and Tokarev pistols, AK-pattern assault rifles and Dragunov sniper rifles. Additionally, there is a smaller market for light machine guns.
Firearm seizures have been the largest in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where fighting has been the most intense. Conflict-affected areas constitute the major sources of illicit flows for the rest of the country.
Environmental Crime
The flora crimes market in Ukraine primarily exists in the form of illegal logging. Ukraine is believed to be the largest exporter of illegal timber to the EU, with substantial felling operations carried out in the Zhytomyr region. Authorities have been accused of being inefficient in curbing illegal logging and Ukrainian state-owned companies allegedly participate in the criminal market. From customs to forest rangers to local administration officials, state-embedded actors play an important role in enabling illegal exports.
Furthermore, Ukraine is a source and transit country for illicit wildlife. The country is targeted by traffickers bringing wildlife into the EU through Ukraine’s borders with Poland and Romania. Once there, traffickers use the EU’s free movement to transport wildlife to destination markets in Western Europe.
Ukraine is also a source of illegal fishing, with poaching and trafficking of wild-sourced sturgeon products continuing, despite an official fishing ban in 2000. It is also a source country for criminal markets in non-renewable resources, a variety of these being illegally extracted, predominantly in the Rivne, Volyn and Zhytomyr regions.
The most pervasive of these markets is for amber mined illegally or by artisanal miners. Criminal gangs control much of Ukraine’s amber business and there are reports of amber mafias in Volyn that control the region’s lucrative amber trade. Amber is transported from Volyn via land and sometimes by air to Poland.
Aside from illicit amber mining, coal mining is also prevalent in the Donbass region, and illegal operations have been growing. Locals usually work as miners, and businesspeople and government officials launder illegally mined coal that can then be sold to Ukrainian power stations.
Illegal Drugs Trafficking
Ukraine’s ports located along the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, as well as its extensive river system, and porous northern and eastern borders make it appealing for traffickers trying to access drug markets in the EU.
Over the years, Ukraine has emerged as a relatively important transit destination for heroin, seizures of which are quite significant. Heroin enters Ukrainian territory through both the Balkan route and the Northern route, before exiting to western and central Europe, mainly via the Black Sea.
Heroin is supplied by various actors, from local facilitators to transnational drug rings. These traffickers use a large transport network, usually road and rail, as well as international ports that link Ukraine to the Balkan route.
In addition to being an important transit country, Ukraine has a relatively large heroin consumer base. Like the heroin market, the criminal market for cannabis in Ukraine is extensive. There is evidence of numerous marijuana plantations across the country, which have in many cases been found equipped with systems for heating, lighting, irrigation, fertilisation, temperature and humidity sensors, as well as video surveillance networks, potentially indicating production at scale.
Ukraine is predominantly a destination country for synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances, particularly amphetamine-type stimulants. This market has grown rapidly over the past decade (2010–2020). Synthetic drugs primarily from Poland, Lithuania, and the Netherlands are trafficked to Ukraine. There is evidence, however, that some of the supply is provided by local small-scale, clandestine production. With a limited domestic consumer base, the criminal market for cocaine inside Ukraine is small. However, seizures at ports in Odessa and Kyiv provide some evidence that Ukraine acts as a transit country for the drug.
Criminal Actors
Ukraine has had a strong presence of organised mafia-style groups since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. While their presence has been declining over time, many continue to operate. It is estimated that there are around three dozen criminal bosses, known as vory-v-zakone or ‘thieves-in-law’.
Some traditionally influential mafia-style groups include the Donetsk-based Lux, the Samvel Martirosyan gang and the Crimea-based Bashmaky. However, they have become significantly less active since the 1990s and many high-ranking members are either dead or in prison.
In addition to domestic criminal actors, a number of organised criminals operating in Ukraine have Chechen, Russian, Georgian, South Ossetian or Azerbaijani backgrounds. Mafia-style groups are usually active in multiple criminal markets, but evidence suggests a focus on arms trafficking, extortion, robbery, murder for hire, and kidnapping. Widespread activity is to take control of legal businesses via a practice known as raider hijacking.
Moreover, mafia-style groups in Ukraine wield extensive political influence and reportedly have access to multiple levels of the state.
In the Donbass region, for instance, various criminal groups have been extensively involved in both political mobilisation and campaign financing. It is also argued that the annexation of Crimea occurred in part due to local mafia-style groups leveraging overseas business ties for an intervention in the peninsula. State capture by criminal actors is a pervasive issue in Ukraine and state-embedded actors provide criminal actors with protection and enable a number of criminal flows.
Criminal actors are embedded into high-level positions in the state apparatus, working to influence the democratic process on different levels, such as buying votes during elections, supporting and financing certain parties and candidates, and influencing the courts.
At lower levels, petty corruption or collusion by law enforcement and border officials enable illicit flows in the country. In addition to mafia-style groups and state-embedded actors, hundreds of smaller, more decentralised and flexible criminal networks operate in Ukraine. These networks can be formed along ethnic or familial lines, or for more opportunistic reasons, and are engaged in various criminal markets and activities such as robbery, smaller arms, and drug and human trafficking operations.
Criminal Justice and Security
Corruption and bribery in Ukraine’s judicial system are widespread and limit the rule of law and practical guarantees of due process. The courts have failed to maintain independence and many judges are subject to pressure from political, corrupt or criminal actors.
While judicial reforms could potentially improve the independence and efficiency of Ukraine’s judiciary, critics often point out that the relevant initiatives and reforms are advancing slowly. Most detention facilities in Ukraine are of poor quality and have few mechanisms for complaints. These issues are particularly pronounced in conflict-affected areas.
Ukrainian law enforcement suffers from low levels of public trust and widespread accusations of corruption and involvement in criminal practices. National police have a specialized unit to counter organized crime and the national security agency also has the mandate to fight organised crime.
The conflict in the east has undermined Ukraine’s territorial integrity and continues to provide organised criminals with numerous opportunities, rendering it difficult to address organised crime issues in regions such as Donbass.
Economic and Financial Environment
The business climate in Ukraine is among the worst in Europe. It continues to suffer from excessive corruption, a high risk of extortion and a weak capacity to enforce property rights. Mafia-style groups wield significant influence in a number of sectors, skewing competition. Nonetheless, the government has been able to stabilise the economic situation somewhat after the events of 2014, creating a foundation for growth. However, Ukraine is vulnerable to money laundering and other illicit financial flows.
The State Financial Monitoring Service produces good financial intelligence, but its capacity for financial investigations is limited by a lack of staff. Nevertheless, new legislation has significantly improved Ukraine’s legal anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism framework, particularly regarding politically exposed persons.
Civil Society and Social Protection
In general, Ukraine’s system for victim and witness support is weak. While the government has a fairly robust framework to support victims to exit modern slavery, draft legislation introduced in 2017, which aimed to enhance protection and improve procedures for establishing victim status, has still not been passed. There is a law on witness protection guaranteeing protection for victims and witnesses of crime, but it is in need of a comprehensive update.
With regard to prevention strategies, Ukraine’s national drug strategy emphasises drug use prevention and aims to shift the approach away from punitive measures towards a public health process. There are many forms of support available to people who use drugs, including opioid-substitution therapy, although widespread access to such forms of treatment is not guaranteed.
Ukraine’s civil society is vibrant and plays an important role in anti-corruption and anti-organized crime advocacy. However, many NGOs experience limitations in their access to political backing.
The space for independent media has expanded since the revolution in 2014, but the media landscape continues to be dominated by outlets owned by oligarchs, and press freedom violations still occur in conflict-affected parts of the country.
Ukraine is a cornered animal, and it plans to lash out like one.

The leak of classified documents on the gaming and chat platform Discord continues to be a treasure trove of information about America’s proxy war with Russia in Ukraine.
Earlier revelations from the Discord leak suggested Ukraine is a cornered animal. The latest shows it might lash out like one. The Washington Post reported Monday that documents in the leak claimed that the United States had to force Ukraine to back down from a direct attack on Moscow. Time and time again, the United States has had to rein in or express serious concern internally about Ukraine’s plans to fight Russia, not just in Ukraine or even within Russia’s borders, but in the Middle East and North Africa as well.
A classified report from the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) claimed that Maj. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov, who heads the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) for Ukraine’s defense ministry, instructed one of his officers on February 13 “to get ready for mass strikes on 24 February.” Ukraine was to strike “with everything the HUR had.” The NSA report also said Ukrainian officials joked about using TNT to strike Novorossiysk, a Black Sea port city east of the Crimean Peninsula. The Post asserted such an operation would be “largely symbolic,” but “would nevertheless demonstrate Ukraine’s ability to hit deep inside enemy territory.”
Budanov has a reputation for being a loose cannon. Previously, he claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was terminally ill and employed body doubles for public appearances. He is apparently convinced that Ukraine will overwhelm and repel the Russian invasion, including Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, sometime this summer. Which is why it appears the U.S. intelligence apparatus has taken up monitoring Budanov’s moves and communications. And Budanov appears to know it. The Post added that, when it has interviewed Budanov on occasion since the outbreak of the war, reporters have heard white noise or music in the background of the major general’s office.
This time, however, it appears the United States prevented the loose cannon from going off. On February 22, the CIA internally circulated a classified report that the HUR “had agreed, at Washington’s request, to postpone strikes” on Moscow. Nevertheless, the CIA also said “there is no indication” that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) had “agreed to postpone its own plans to attack Moscow around the same date.”
The SBU also apparently held off any plans it may have had for striking deep into Russian territory on the one-year anniversary of the Russian invasion. The United States’s efforts to discourage Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory only lasted so long, however. About a week after the anniversary of the Russian invasion, the Kremlin accused Ukrainian drones of striking infrastructure relatively close to Moscow.
Such drone attacks are par for the course in Ukraine’s recent military operations inside Russian territory. Last October, Russia accused Ukraine of drone strikes against its Black Sea fleet in Crimea. Though the authenticity has not been confirmed, video footage shows a drone heading towards a ship as what appears to be gunfire hits the water around the Russian vessel. The Kremlin claimed a minesweeper was damaged in the attack. Then in December, Ukrainian drones reportedly struck Engels-2, a military air-base about 400 miles inside Russian territory. Drones also struck two other military airfields and an oil facility in the Kursk province.
Ukraine appears to now be reaching further into Russian territory and is less ambiguous about its involvement in these attacks. Earlier on in the conflict, Ukraine often denied playing a role in attacks on Russian installations and infrastructure within its borders, such as the car-bombing incident in August 2022 that killed Daria Dugina, the daughter of Aleksandr Dugin, a Russian nationalist and staunch supporter of Russia’s invasion. Despite repeated Ukrainian denials, the U.S. intelligence community believes Ukraine was behind the attack.
In an interview with the Post in January, however, Budanov simultaneously denied Ukraine’s involvement in many of these attacks and claimed that they would continue. Such attacks “shattered their illusions of safety,” Budanov reportedly claimed. “There are people who plant explosives. There are drones. Until the territorial integrity of Ukraine is restored, there will be problems inside Russia.”
Other revelations from the Discord-leaked documents: Ukraine wants to expand the scope of the conflict beyond that of continental Europe and take the Russians to task in the Middle East and North Africa. The NSA report claimed that Budanov’s HUR planned to attack the Wagner Group—a Russian military contractor with a reputation for brutality whose members have assisted in the Ukraine offensive—in the African country of Mali. The Wagner Group’s services are retained by the government of Mali for security and training their own military forces.
The NSA document said, “It is unknown what stage the operations [in Mali] were currently in and whether the HUR has received approval to execute its plans,” according to the Post.
At the same time, the HUR was developing plans to strike Russian forces in Syria by partnering with the Kurds. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reportedly put the kibosh on the special operations offensive in the Middle East, but at least one of the documents reviewed by the Post claimed that efforts to attack Russian assets in Syria that avoid Ukrainian culpability may still be on the table for the Ukrainian government.
Are these not plans for a world war? Would the United States not be responsible if the Ukrainian government, which both militarily and financially would be defunct without nearly $100 billion in U.S. aid, decided to go forward with such plans?
The Biden administration would deny any culpability in starting World War III, of course. It would point to the fact that the U.S. prohibits using the military aid it gives Ukraine to strike Russia. Thus, the United States retains much say over Ukraine’s battle plans and has successfully thwarted grand Ukrainian plans to strike Moscow and several other core Russian targets on separate occasions.
Ukrainian officials have admitted this in private, too. Oftentimes, if Ukraine wants to use a rocket system provided by the United States to strike a target, U.S. military personnel in Europe either have to confirm the coordinates or provide the coordinates themselves.
The Biden administration and the foreign policy blob that supports the United States involvement in Ukraine might think this makes our involvement sound all the better. It doesn’t. It reveals who is really waging this war against Russia. Ukraine, which has been a money-laundering operation for the well-connected in the West for the last decade (see Hunter Biden), continues to be just that. Ukraine is the American liberal empire’s proxy in the truest sense.
The weapons systems, ammunition, and military equipment the United States provides Ukraine maintains a certain level of fungibility—and aid dollars more so than the physical equipment. Providing military aid, even with the current strings attached, expands Ukraine’s pool of resources, meaning they can devote what is “theirs” to operations and theaters that suit their fancy.
Restraining Ukraine is becoming increasingly difficult, and funding Ukraine’s military efforts increasingly risky. That much is clear from America’s own assessment of Ukraine’s war plans revealed in the Discord leak. Heads should roll at the Pentagon, the State Department, and the White House for blindly walking into a conflict that Ukraine wants to go global.
