Greek General Christou Accused Kyiv Of A Crime For Transferring Battles To Cities With Inhabitants

Daily pictures : missing in action

On November 25, 2022, a demonstration in Kiev, mostly women, is demanding news about relatives who have been enlisted in the army. They are likely dead but nobody has informed the families.

According to a Russian mathematical model and every honest observer with military experience, Ukrainian casualties are about ten times higher than the Russian ones and the military fatalities, above 100,000. Many corpses are brought back and buried at home, not all

In a first stage late February, when Russian troops reached Kiev suburb, the operations attempted to trigger the collapse of Volodymyr Zelenskyy or at least, the liberation of Russian-speaking Donbass through negotiation. The Anglo-Saxon intransigence and Nazi deep State prevented a ceasefire, a proxy war has begun. Zelenskyy ordered a general mobilization and with a much larger manpower, Ukraine counterattacked. For logistical reasons, Russia withdrawn on November 9 from the right bank of the Dnieper river and Kherson, but four former Ukrainian regions had already voted on September 27 for their return to the Russian Federation. Russia has balanced the forces with a partial mobilization. Ukraine cannot win this war of attrition

Situation map on November 11 (RYBAR)

The Russian firepower is much superior and in the fantasy of Zelenskyy, a cocaine addict actor, PR and propaganda on fake news Western media, not strategic nor tactic thinking, are deciding the conduct of military operations

Unlike these families, the Ukrainian command has no regard for human life. Modern Ukraine is a furuncle of Europe, its atavistic nationalism. That carnage reminds WW1, that the sames would play again with Ukrainian blood. The dead have fought for the arrogance of a declining West, the power, wealth and life of Zelenskyy, while the liberation of Donbass and legal denazification of Ukraine would have long prevented the war, are still the solution.

Joseph Borrell Says He Can End the War in the Ukraine with This One Weird Trick

Is he supposed to say this?

Pretty sure you’re not ever supposed to say this.

I thought everyone was kinda sorta supposed to imply that it’s the Ukraine doing the “winning,” and also that if the Ukraine stopped fighting, Putin would kill everyone in the country out of pure, unadulterated mean-spiritedness.

RT:

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine can be ended in just several days, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell claimed to Spanish broadcaster La Sexta on Wednesday, arguing that it all depends on Western military supplies to Kiev.

“I know how to end the war immediately,” Borrell told La Sexta’s El Intermedio show. “Stop providing military aid to Ukraine and Ukraine [will] have to surrender in a few days. That’s it, the war is over,” the EU top diplomat insisted.

Borrell acknowledged that would not be the outcome that the EU and other Western nations wanted. The bloc’s foreign-policy chief claimed that an immediate end to the conflict on such terms would see Ukraine “occupied” and “turned into a puppet country” that is “deprived of its freedoms.”

“Is this how we want the war to end?” he asked rhetorically. Borrell then blamed the continued hostilities on Moscow, saying that Russia has repeatedly insisted it would not stop until all the goals of its military campaign are achieved. He also criticized the peace efforts by China and Brazil, claiming they are detached from reality.

Top Zelensky advisor Mikhail Podolyak complained on Twitter about Borrell’s statements, saying that actually, the only possible way for the war to end is with an unconditional Russian surrender, and of course asserted that Putin’s plan is to murder every civilian in the Ukraine.

These Ukrainians are very ambitious, and very bold in saying things that do not make coherent sense.

When it comes to murdering civilians, you might want to ask the Ukraine why they insist on fighting the war inside of cities, using human shields.

This is actually very much a “war crime,” as retired Greek Air Force Major General Pavlos Christou pointed out this week:

Wars should only be fought between armies in an open space. Ukraine with its military dogma has moved the war into the cities without withdrawing the inhabitants, so there are heavy casualties on both sides. Civilians are being killed. It is a war crime when you bomb and fight and keep the population in the middle of the fighting, when you set up military bases in the city, in the hospitals. This is forbidden by international laws of warfare. The president of Ukraine is committing a crime against the people of Ukraine with thousands of civilian casualties. Yet the international community did not rise up when Ukrainian troops bombed cities for eight years. Did it not know what was going on? No one is talking about those bombings.

It’s all very nonsensical, the entire discussion.

The lies of the media and the Ukraine government really say more about the public’s willingness to believe lies than they do about the liars themselves. There will always be people willing to lie for money, but hopefully, the population is not stupid enough to celebrate them as heroes.

We’ve heard a lot about “Clown World.” Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about Mime World, where everyone is incapable of communication beyond primitive gestures and pretending to be trapped in an invisible box in order to acquire free money.

Slava? No, Not Glory but Shame on Ukraine!

Stephen Karganovic

There is virtually no chance that the Nazi regime in Kiev will feel either shame or remorse for what it has just done.

There is virtually no chance that the Nazi regime in Kiev will feel either shame or remorse for what it has just done. That however does not alter the obligation of decent people everywhere to speak up and brand it with the shame it abundantly deserves.

Chilean-American journalist Gonzalo Lira, has been a thorn in the Kiev junta’s flesh for a long time. On May 1, the Ukrainian secret police arrested him again in Harkov, where Lira, a long-time resident of Ukraine, has been living for several years. From the beginning of the Special Military Operation in late February 2022, Lira has been using his internet bully pulpit to convey to a global audience his take on the Ukrainian conflict. After gaining several hundred thousand followers world-wide with his provocative reporting and commentary from the belly of the beast, the beast has apparently decided that it has had enough.

Lira was arrested in a morning raid by police and soldiers in his Harkov apartment. Ukrainian junta media has confirmed the arrest. Over a week later, however, there is still no word about where he is being held, under what conditions, and whether he has access to consular support and other forms of human rights protection to which he is entitled.

The little information there is about the charges against Lira is mostly unofficial and it consists mainly of reports in the Ukrainian media. According to a publication identified as “The New voice of Ukraine” of 5 May 2023, the charges revolve around allegations of “supporting Russian occupation and valorizing [sic] Moscow’s apparent war crimes during the war.” In addition, Lira is being accused of “attempts to discredit Ukraine’s highest military and political leadership.”

In “democratic” Western countries, until recently anyway, nebulous charges of this nature would have been automatically nullified by constitutional free speech guarantees. The general public would have reacted to them with a shrug and the question: “So what?” In practical terms, the situation today is somewhat different, of course. Fundamental values have indeed been systematically and successfully eviscerated, but the normative framework which the collective West invokes whenever that suits its purposes technically still remains in effect.

Western governments, “human rights” NGOs, and journalistic colleagues have ignored Gonzalo Lira’s plight and have refused to make inquiries about his condition or voice criticism of the way he has been treated. For them, it is sufficient that he has not been a team player and that his boldly diverse reporting constituted a radical threat to the mendacious Ukraine war narrative they all unanimously support, if for no other reason than because their jobs and perquisites entirely depend on it.

The first arrest and week-long disappearance of Gonzalo Lira in the summer of last year presumably was arranged for intimidation purposes. Subsequently, he was released and some sort of court case was opened against him, but without any discernible movement since then. This time round, according to Alex Christoforou, Lira’s arrest and disappearance is a matter of much more serious concern.

As Christoforou points out, in present-day Ukraine physical liquidation of non-conformist journalists is commonplace and the steadily deteriorating military situation makes it incumbent upon the insecure regime to finally eliminate from the public sphere the dissonant journalist whose reporting contradicts its own and its Western sponsors’ war narrative. Additionally, in light of impending military operations whose outcome is uncertain, it is advisable from the regime’s standpoint to use the persecution of Lira as a warning to any honest and professional journalists that may remain. The message is that departure from approved content will not be tolerated.

The arrest and disappearance of Gonzalo Lira has been passed over in complicit silence by mainstream Western media. Lira is not popular in those circles because his courageous, on the spot journalism puts all of them to shame by exposing their corrupt and subservient relationship to political power centres. So far, this important event has been noted and alarms have been sounded mainly by independent journalists such as Jackson Hinkle and Brian Berletic, who also has made mincemeat of Ukrainian allegations against Lira.

Lira’s arrest seems also to have gone unnoticed by the diplomatic establishments of Chile and the United States, the two countries whose citizenship he holds and who have the primary duty to come to his assistance. Considering the scandalous withdrawal of consular support from Spanish journalist Pablo Gonzales, who has been languishing in a Polish prison for over a year on similarly trumped up charges, the conspicuous lack of interest in Lira is unsurprising. Apart from being utterly immoral, in both Gonzales’ and Lira’s case this neglect is an impermissible breach of those countries’ legal obligation to protect their own citizens and to provide the assistance and support to which under their own laws and the provisions of the Vienna Convention both prisoners are unequivocally entitled.

Visiting the Amnesty International website and typing in “GONZALO LIRA” yields the following futile result: “NO RESULTS FOUND — Sorry, we didn’t find any results for gonzalo lira.” Practically abandoned by his professional peers, ignored by phoney human rights advocates, and thrown under the bus by the governments which should be lodging demarches on his behalf, the only remaining hope Gonzalo Lira has, not just for freedom but for physical survival, is a mobilisation of concerned people world-wide to shame, if possible, the Nazi junta into releasing him from their clutches.

After all, even the junta’s role model Hitler considered it advantageous during the Berlin Olympics to temporarily ease up on the Jews, to reduce embarrassment to his criminal regime.

This is an appeal to readers and all men of good will everywhere to stand up for a genuine hero who is bravely risking everything, including his personal safety, to affirm freedom of speech and journalistic integrity under the most challenging circumstances.

The governments that are not doing their job should be strongly admonished by their own citizens to demand of the Ukrainian authorities the unconditional release of prisoner Gonzalo Lira, who is being held in Ukrainian secret police dungeons. Lira is a genuine hero and prisoner of conscience, in sharp contrast to the fake PR celebrities that those governments and their institutions always readily champion. Decent people everywhere expect action to free Gonzalo Lira and to squash the nonsensical charges against him. The diplomatic establishments of the countries whose citizenship Gonzalo Lira holds have the primary responsibility to use all means at their disposal to secure his freedom and safety.

They must immediately end their cowardly silence and publicly acknowledge that in Ukraine independent journalist Gonzalo Lira is incarcerated for actions that under their own laws would be regarded as protected speech. And they must publicly and vigorously condemn the outrageous conduct of their Ukrainian minions, who also happen to be Gonzalo Lira’s lawless tormentors.

London Calling. How Much Patience Is Left From the West Towards Zelensky?

Martin Jay

How much longer has Zelensky got with his so-called special relationship with western elites and NATO? It is a popular notion among geopolitical experts that the relationship is beginning to sour as in recent weeks there have been a number of indicators which hint that the marriage of convenience may well be on the rocks.

This is not because he didn’t go to the coronation of King Charles, but chose to send his wife, although this will be noted in the circles of power in London. No, you have to go back farther to the end of February where relations began to fray when the Ukrainian president actually announced on media that he wanted to reach out of the Chinese Premiere Xi in that hilarious “call me” article. This is the greatest indicator that his time is running out with western elites who are supplying him with less and less equipment and ordinance not least because their own stocks are so absurdly low that their own countries now cannot defend themselves from any attack with a British general recently revealing in the UK press that Britain only had “about 22 hours of ammo” in any conflict situation. The “call me” article spooked the West so much that in a matter of days NATO secretary general announced “Ukraine will be a NATO member” which was such an absurdity that even Zelensky himself had to unpack the comment later on and toned it right down.

Then there was the leaked Pentagon papers which I have argued are fake. Did Zelensky organise this leak so as to put pressure on the US to speed up an arms shipment, as well as embarrass the West by “revealing” Egypt’s plans to send rockets to Ukraine to help Russia? Certainly a more realistic argument than an uneducated American serviceman putting them on the net to settle a score although we should not dismiss the idea that the soldier was used as a conduit.

What is more solid ground and explains the impasse which I believe we’re witnessing now is on the battlefield of Ukraine. The West was certainly hoping by now, with just months away from Biden’s re-election campaign starting, that he would have something to show voters in the US who are confused how there could be half a million US citizens homeless while well over 100bn dollars has been blown on military aid to Ukraine. But rather than token victories, Zelensky only has defeats.

More recently we have witnessed the capture of Bakhmut by Russian forces with heavy losses on both sides. NATO bosses and western leaders must be wondering if one more town like Bakhmut falls what does that do to troop morale. Does it have a domino affect and bring the whole thing crumbling down? Zelensky and Biden both desperately need a victory in Ukraine but this prospect seems more and more unlikely and so unorthodox methods are likely to be relied upon more in the future. The amateur drone attack on the Kremlin is a good example. Zelensky is torn between being responsible for a full blown WWIII scenario (which he has provoked a number of times in the past such as the missile attack on Poland) or going to the Chinese for a peace deal. The latter though will cost him heavily as Xi is only interested in peace in return for rich pickings, commercially speaking which we learnt from when the phone call with Xi finally came.

For Stoltenberg or even Biden this must have been a pivotal moment which they could hardly believe. It told them both that Zelensky is an ally in only the broadest sense and an ungrateful brat into the bargain who cannot be trusted at the best of times. To appeal to Xi for a peace deal means that even Zelensky himself doesn’t hold out much hope for both his relations with West to last too long and for the actual battle on the ground to stay as it is. What is interesting though is that western elites who also have a large stake in him and Ukraine are also getting nervous.

Was it just nothing more than a coincidence that Zelensky’s wife was sent to the coronation in London? Or is even the UK, a stalwart supporter of him and Ukraine, now starting to revaluate the relation after the Xi call?

This would be one explanation as to why a British government minster recently made a shocking admission to the press that some of the weapons that the UK was sending to the Ukraine were not getting there but being sold on black markets in eastern Europe.

Recently, UK Armed Forces Minister James Heappey admitted  that some arms shipments supplied to Kiev by its Western backers could have changed hands before they reached the frontline. He did not clarify the exact amount or types of arms that have allegedly been rerouted.

His reaction came not from a request from media, but from a Scottish MP Kenny MacAskill who asked the minister to estimate the proportion of British military aid sent to Ukraine that had been resold before reaching the nation’s troops.

Heappey replied somewhat vaguely that the UK has “robust procedures” in place to ensure that all assistance going through the International Donor Coordination Centre is handed over to the Ukrainian army.

However, he admitted that “there have been isolated reports” – although extremely rare – saying that equipment given to Ukraine had been diverted away from the front line without giving any more details.

My own investigation in the Daily Mail in July 2022, concluded that there are shipments of UK and US weapons making their way to black markets and turning up in Syria in the hands of pro western jihadists fighting Assad’s forces. The Ministry of Defence, when I asked them to clarify, were also incredibly vague about giving any details but along with a former intelligence officer I interviewed said there were no tracking devices as such in the equipment – something which seems to be very hard to believe. My experience is that my own government lies to me and that a number of MPs I contacted became nervous and retracted their willingness to contribute to my investigation once they knew exactly the subject. It is quite likely that Heappy is lying about the limited numbers as it is more than likely that the MOD is lying about no tracking devices installed.

What is more realistic to believe is that relations between London and Kiev are also waning. It is one thing to allow the cabal of Zelenksy’s to resell some of the kit being sent to fund their own activities and sustain rock star lifestyles when the odds seemed to be in the favour of the Ukrainian army; but quite another when the battle seems to have turned in Russia’s favour and Zelensky is making calls to China for help. That is not biting the hand that feeds you but rather cutting if off and throwing it to filthy dogs in your street to devour.

NATO Using Ukrainian Biolabs to Develop Weapons – Investigative Committee

By Jonas E. Alexis, Senior Editor

In February 2022, the Russian Defense Ministry discovered the existence of 30 US-funded military biological laboratories in Ukraine.

The work of Western biolaboratories in Ukraine may have been necessary to conceal the development of biological weapons, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, told Sputnik.

Alexander Bastrykin explained that the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons stipulates that states parties undertake to take measures to prohibit suchweaponswithin their territory.

However, according to Bastrykin, work in the field of microbiology using bacteria and viruses may have a dual purpose – both the development of medicines and the use of dangerous infections to create components of biological weapons.

For monitoring purposes, parties to the convention have to regularly provide information, such as what laboratories are operating on their territories…

Syria Returns to Arab League With Saudi Arabia at the Helm

Steven Sahiounie

Foreign ministers from Arab League member states voted in Cairo on Sunday to return Syria to the brotherly diplomatic league.

Syria has been reinstated as a member of the Arab League, which will meet on May 19 in Riyadh. After a 12-year absence, Syria is in the midst of an Arab-led political path to normalization in the region. The regional powerhouse, Saudi Arabia, and the vision of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have taken center stage in diplomatic resolutions to persistent crises.

Foreign ministers from Arab League member states voted in Cairo on Sunday to return Syria to the brotherly diplomatic league.

Damascus has been the site of normalization efforts recently. Jordan has put forth an initiative to reach a peaceful political settlement to the conflict in Syria. Western-backed uprisings and conflicts have plagued the Middle East and continue. However, there are winds of change blowing across the desert sands, and the regional actors are rejecting the status quo.

The U.S.-NATO attack on Syria for regime change involved Arab and Western nations as participants, but the plan failed. The armed conflict planned and executed by President Obama, and Vice President Biden killed thousands and displaced millions.

Following the February 6 earthquake in Syria and Turkey, restoration ties with Damascus began with a huge Arab humanitarian response, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which set up an air bridge for much-needed help for victims of the quake.

The Chinese-brokered re-establishment of ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran was a political earthquake in the region and gave the indication that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was looking to establish peace and prosperity in the region, and was veering away from Western interference which has been the source of unrest.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud visited Damascus on April 18 for the first time in more than a decade, with the two countries also restoring embassies and flights between them.

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad visited the Kingdom just days before Prince Faisal visited Damascus, on the first such trip since 2011.

Foreign Embassies in Damascus

Damascus hosts 44 embassies, and in addition, there are 51 consulates. Many had closed during the conflict as Western nations and their Arab allies aligned themselves against Syria in their failed effort to remove the secular government, and instead place a Muslim Brotherhood member as the U.S. ally in Damascus.

Some European countries never closed their embassy doors in Damascus, such as Austria, Czech Republic, Greece, Holy See, Romania, Serbia, and Sweden.

Several Arab embassies also are open in Damascus, such as UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, Yemen, and Oman. Saudi Arabia and Tunisia have said they will open their embassies soon in Damascus.

Experts expect more embassies will dust off their desks and reopen as Damascus springs back to life after more than a decade of isolation.

Syria and Saudi Arabia support the Palestinian cause

Restoring the rights, and land to the Palestinian people has long been a pillar of the Syrian position. Saudi Arabia also has stressed the rights of the Palestinians and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas visited on April 18 and met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss recent developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Saudi Arabia denounced the Israeli storming of the al-Aqsa mosque compound on April 5, and rejected actions “that undermine peace efforts and contradict international principles in respect of religious sanctities.”

Saudi-China relations

King Salman bin Abdulaziz approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that granted Saudi Arabia the status of a dialogue partner in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on March 28.

The SCO is a Eurasian political, economic, international security, and defense organization. Members include India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan, with Iran set to join soon.

Saudi Arabia has depended solely on the U.S. for decades but now is opening their horizon to other partners as the Kingdom marches toward fulling its Vision 2030.

Saudi OPEC decisions

Saudi Arabia and other OPEC+ oil producers announced voluntary cuts to their production on April 2. Riyadh said it would cut output by 500,000 barrels per day from May until the end of 2023.

When U.S. President Joe Biden visited Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman he asked him to increase oil output, to drop the price of gasoline to American consumers. Instead, the decision was made to remain at the level decided upon previously by OPEC. This decision disappointed Biden, but after Biden had made seriously false accusations against Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the past, it came as no surprise.

In the last two months, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and top diplomats held high-level meetings with officials from the U.S., Iran, Netherlands, Egypt, and China. These meetings helped to mark the Kingdom’s diplomatic position in the Arab world and cement Riyadh’s position internationally as a powerhouse in the Middle East.

Looking forward while looking back at the Syrian conflict

In December 2012, the fourth conference for the “Friends of the Syrian People” opened in Morocco, with participation by more than a hundred government delegates, including from the U.S., France, Britain, and the Gulf countries.

The U.S.-NATO attack on Syria beginning in March 2011 for regime change, created the “Syrian National Coalition” (SNC) which over the years has been hosted by Turkey, and Qatar at the direction of the U.S. The Syrian government in Damascus was deemed illegitimate, and the SNC was given full political recognition at the 2012 meeting in Morocco, as the sole legitimate representative of the Syrian people.

The SNC had an armed wing, also created by the U.S. through their CIA program, Timber Sycamore, which trained, funded, and armed men following the Muslim Brotherhood ideology, to establish an Islamic State in Damascus, similar to the U.S. project in Egypt which successfully installed Mohammed Mursi, before he was rejected by the Egyptian people.

The Free Syrian Army

In 2012, Daniel Wagner wrote from Washington on HuffPost about the dark and evil side of the U.S.-backed FSA. He explained how the U.S. and Western media were glorifying the FSA as ‘freedom fighters’ while turning a blind eye to war crimes and atrocities they committed. The Western mainstream media played a huge role in brainwashing the American and European public.

Aleppo, the industrial capital of Syria, was finally turned into a war zone, and as Wagner explains, “The primary reason Aleppo was attacked by the FSA is that it was and remains supportive of the government. In response, the FSA has been acting more like a force opposed to the citizens of Syria than a force intended to secure their freedom. For example, it has in the recent past stolen wheat reserves intended for the residents of Aleppo and sold them to private Turkish grain traders, expropriated stocks of pharmaceuticals and forcibly resold them back to their owners, and ransacked schools. These are hardly the actions of a ‘liberation force.’”

Over the years, the FSA became extinct, and their partner Al Qaeda finally morphed into ISIS. The U.S. and NATO were left supporting outlawed terrorists, who they claimed they were fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, but not in Syria.

Idlib remains the last terrorist-controlled province held by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly called Jibhat al-Nusra, formerly called Al Qaeda, led by Mohammad al-Julani, formerly of ISIS. This is the man the U.S. continues to support.

The U.S. sidelined in the Middle East

Bill Burns, the head of the CIA, arrived in Saudi Arabia in April amid developments placing Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the driver’s seat of political developments in the Middle East. No longer willing to be a passive actor taking cues from Washington, but instead sitting in the director’s chair.

The U.S. has condemned the Arab League vote to reinstate Syria and has said they remain opposed to any rebuilding of homes in Syria and opposed to the Syrian people abroad returning to their own homes.

The U.S. and NATO successfully removed Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi. He will be forever remembered while sitting at the Arab League round table, denouncing the directives each participant received from Washington, DC., and issuing a prophetic warning that one day the U.S. would be attempting to remove each leader sitting at the table. His speech was reacted to by laughter, but no one is laughing now.
