Australia let go of itself below the plinth. Well, where did this state fit in, with politics? He lives in the backyards of the world. And there to talk about what backward Russian bears are. They win with shovels alone the high civilization of NATO and the Anglo-Saxons. The Anglo-Saxon world requires psychiatry.
Australian newspaper at 6:30: — Russians have to fight with shovels!
The same Australian newspaper at 15:31: — The Ukrainians will have to retreat!
Readers of this newspaper: — If the Russians use only sapper shovels to drive the army, which is armed by the entire Western world — then what will happen when they are finally given weapons?!
Australia is in the backyards of the world. It will count if it supports the Anglos — the USA and England, after how many seconds it will be destroyed by the avant-gardes and other supersonic weapons .
The Yalta Conference of 1945 seems to have ended to the great pleasure of all parties. Leaving the Crimea on February 14, 1945, W. Churchill spoke to a newsreel microphone:
“We pray that the Russian people will never again be subjected to severe trials, from which they emerged with such glory.”
But either his memory let him down (the memory of Churchill, who quoted entire chapters), or maybe the prayer did not reach the right place. Soon these words were forgotten.
“Japan has not yet been defeated. The atomic bomb has not yet been born. The world was in turmoil. The basis of communication — the common danger that united the great allies — disappeared instantly. In my eyes, the Soviet threat has already replaced the Nazi enemy.”

IS ist gut.
Climate Cartels Plan To Cancel Single Family Homes, Private Cars
By Larry Bell ~
Allysia Finley, a regular Wall Street Journal contributor, posted an article a couple weeks ago titled “The Climate Crusaders Are Coming for Electric Cars Too,” a prophesy consistent with a concerning social control trend I have witnessed as well.
It’s not that “green” lobbies have the necessary public support to succeed in consigning most of us to trade freedoms we take for granted for their enchanted “progressive” visions of ant farm utopia — at least not yet — but don’t count them out just yet either.
Ms. Finley referred to a report issued by the University of California, Davis and “a network of academics and policy experts” called the “Climate and Community Project” which concludes that meeting the left’s net-zero climate goals to save the planet may require a few economic and social life-shifting changes we might not have realized come with the deal.
Like, for example, “densifying low-density suburbs while allowing more people to live in high-density urban spaces” which will simultaneously make public transit more useful and efficient.
This, in turn, will reduce “car dependency,” which can essentially be compelled by reducing “financial subsidies for private vehicles,” such as on-street and free parking and imposing charges on pickup trucks and SUVs (including electric ones.)
According to their assessment, the auto sector’s “current dominant strategy,” which involves replacing gasoline-powered vehicles with EVs won’t be nearly enough without decreasing car ownership and use.
Besides, who really needs them anyway when we there will be all those favored new electric trolleys and natural gas-banning shoe box efficiency apartments?
Except for maybe some of us wondering where all that electricity will come from.
PJM Interconnection, one of the nation’s largest grid operators, forecasts that as power demands continue to increase, the current government policy push for unreliable and inadequate renewable energy sources is putting power supplies across 13 eastern states in its 65 million customer territory in jeopardy of “energy imbalance” (shortages and blackouts).
This circumstance is worsening as coal and natural gas plants retire largely due to policy-driven steep costs of compliance with Biden administration EPA regulations including a proposed “good neighbor rule” that is expected to be finalized this month that will force about 10,500 MW of fossil fuel generation to shut down.
On top of supply shortages, consider that our aging power grids have limited capacity to handle rapidly transitioning power demands and dependence for transportation (public and EV), home conditioning (heat and cooling), cellphones and computing, and electrified lifestyles in general.
According to data compiled by The Wall Street Journal, there were fewer than two dozen major U.S. power disruptions in 2,000, compared with more than 180 in 2020.
Regarding those other worrisome trends I previously mentioned, the Biden administration has proposed that the Department of Housing and Urban Development reinstate an Obama-era “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” (AFFH) rule that essentially allows the federal government to preempt local land use and single family zoning policies.
AFFH had given rise to numerous legal challenges — not disputing recognized legitimate merits of prohibiting housing discrimination based upon race, religion, national origin, sex, (and as amended) handicap and family status — but rather for extending overreach of federal government control of independent local governance on a truly draconian scale.
AFFH also contravened a Supreme Court ruling that affirmed the Fair Housing Act “is not an instrument to force housing authorities to reorder priorities” or to “decree a particular vision of urban development.”
Nevertheless, prohibited or not, New York State’s Westchester County experienced a costly illustrative saga following a lawsuit alleging that its suburban village of Tuckahoe was out of compliance with HUD’s social engineering “vision.”
Westchester’s basic zoning policies were determined to be racially “exclusionary” based upon development restrictions such as building height and area density.
Single-family homes on quarter-acre lots were deemed potentially “discriminatory” — supposedly because minority members might not be able to afford them.
HUD may have been referring here to exclusionary Westchester County homes like the $1.7 million 11-room colonial in Chappaqua purchased in 1999 by Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Speaking of New York, in her Jan. 5, 2022, State of State address, Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul included a plan to eliminate single family zoning laws plus mandate that municipalities allow a minimum of one accessory dwelling unit on owner-occupied lots in residential zones.
In short, apartments would be encouraged, and local governments would not have the power to stop them.
So finally, what does this really have anything to do with climate “equity”?
Well, according to a Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute report, once-redlined neighborhoods in 108 cities experienced up to 10 deg. Fahrenheit higher daily temperatures than others due to fewer parks, and trees, and proximity to industrial areas which use more electricity.
Presumably, these neighborhoods have a preponderance of populations with the most difficulty covering existing household and living expenses directly driven by the green war on economical fossil energy.
Now somebody please explain how cramming more people together and adding more electrical demands along with perilous reliability will make their lives — anyone’s lives — better?

The U.S. Army is preparing to offer training on the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) that have featured prominently in the Ukraine war.
The V Corps of the U.S. Army will lead a summit and training sessions to “increase knowledge on the operations and sustainment of HIMARS and associated systems,” the corps said in a statement. The training will likely take place in eastern and central Europe, the Army said.
The European High Mobility Artillery Rocket System Initiative, as it is known, will include instructions on “how to effectively man, train, sustain and fight with the weapon system.” It will also involve foreign soldiers embedding with U.S. units for training, according to the V Corps statement.
The U.S. began sending HIMARS to Ukraine’s armed forces last summer, and as of March 3, 2023, the U.S. has sent 38 HIMARS plus the related ammunition, according to Defense Department records.
Stephen Sefton Ilze Brands Kehris, @UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights, in an update to the Human Rights Council on the “socio-political crisis” in the country. Twitter
Last week saw the advance release of a summary of the United Nations Human Rights report on Nicaragua. The report supposedly results from an investigation by a group of experts of “all alleged human rights violations and abuses committed in Nicaragua since April 2018.” This procedure and the document so far presented confirm in the most categorical way possible that the United Nations human rights system is complicit in the terrorism of the countries of the West against nations and peoples who resist their will, in this case Nicaragua.
The increasingly blatant development of this reality has been clear since the war against Serbia in 1999 to the wars against the legitimate governments of Libya, Ivory Coast and Syria in 2011. Also in this same period there has been an intensification of the genocidal blockade against Cuba and numerous genocidal attacks by Israel against the Palestinian people. These wars and blockades have been accompanied by the extension of sanctions against North Korea and intense illegal coercive measures against Iran and other countries. In Latin America, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has managed to overcome a ruthless offensive of infrastructure sabotage, outright theft of its national patrimony and sadistic trade and financial warfare waged by the United States and its allied countries.
In all these aggressions and campaigns of terrorism, the Western human rights industry has been complicit in one way or another. The height of their complicity in the terrorism of the Western ruling classes against the majority world has been their blatant collaboration in the offensive of the NATO countries, using the fascist government of Ukraine, against Russia and the Russian-speaking population of Donbass. This reality now includes the infamous instrumentalization of human rights as a tool to slander and attack the government of Nicaragua and to cover up the terrorism organized in 2018 by the governments of the United States and its allies in the European Union against the Nicaraguan people.
The United Nations system itself, in this case its Office on Drugs and Organized Crime, defines terrorism as:
the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
the conduct of premeditated violent acts or the threat of violence perpetrated by members of an organized group, designed to create fear in an adversary or specific segment of society
the deliberate creation and exploitation of fear through violence or the threat of violence in the pursuit of political change
the threatened or actual use of illegal force and violence to attain a political, economic, religious, or social goal through fear, coercion or intimidation.
illegitimate use of force to achieve a political objective by targeting innocent people
All these criteria fully apply to the failed coup attempt of 2018. It is notorious in Nicaragua that Paolo Abrao of the IACHR affirmed to our authorities in 2018 that its mandate did not cover criminal acts. However, when the Nicaraguan State did apply its national laws against Western supported terrorist criminals, the IACHR, the UN and their NGO cronies demanded freedom for those convicted, claiming they were “political prisoners”. The same irrational and contorted logic is applied in this latest UN report, in clear violation of its obligation to respect Nicaragua’s national sovereignty.
So the Human Rights Council report not only violates Nicaragua’s national sovereignty. It also tramples on international law promoted by the United Nations system itself and ignores the criteria of that same system regarding terrorism. It even ignores its own terms of reference to investigate “all alleged human rights violations and abuses committed in Nicaragua since April 2018.” It failed to take into account repeated past submissions on the part of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of Nicaragua since April 2018 to the OAS and UN human rights system. But they complain in their report with astonishing chutzpah that the Nicaraguan government did not respond to their requests for information.
The report also fails to take into account the countless reports in Nicaragua’s local media at the time of the violent events provoked by the coup promoting opposition in Nicaragua from April 18, 2018 onwards. Aside from the massive amount of material available in Spanish that disproves its false conclusions, the UN panel of experts has also ignored a substantial body of material both documental and audiovisual in English that demonstrates the complete lack of impartiality of the expert group’s report. None of this is new.
As many people have commented, the UN has long served as an obedient tool for the political objectives of the United States and its allies. And it is not just that Western governments with impunity fail to comply with international norms promoted by the UN, in fact they act deliberately to violate them. As the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation has commented in relation to Ukraine, “Not once in the last eight years since the reunification of Crimea with Russia have the West or the UN human rights mechanisms condemned the illegal and inhumane actions of the Ukrainian authorities, who have imposed a water, energy, transport, food and humanitarian blockade on the peninsula.”
And Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, adds “International and European human rights organizations pay no attention to this, and turn a blind eye to any violation of human rights when it comes to ethnic Russians. This is how the Russophobia we have been talking about for some time now manifests itself.”
Since the defeat of the violent phase of their coup attempt in Nicaragua on July 2018, the U.S. ruling classes and their allied countries in the European Union have continued seeking to advance their regime change agenda in Nicaragua. This latest spurious UN report signals a new phase in imperialist harassment against Nicaragua and its people. As might be expected, Nicaragua has made a dignified response in defense of its national sovereignty by declaring to the UN Human Rights Council on March 3rd this year:
“We demand that this organization reassume the principles for which it was created, which is to encourage real, equal and effective protection of Human Rights for all, without distinction or discrimination, within the framework of respect for our identity, our dignity, our idiosyncrasy and moreover, our sovereignty. It is necessary that this forum empowers itself with its responsibilities, recognizing and respecting the right of the peoples of the world to make their own decisions and to live in Peace, with Sovereignty and Humane Consideration.”
Stephen Sefton In general, practically all reports on Nicaragua by international human rights institutions and organizations fail to check information supporting false claims, omit facts inconvenient to their findings and claim a commitment to transparency even while failing to engage adequately rival versions of events. They make highly selective use of sources and systematically avoid genuinely independent corroboration of accusations by seeking to verify accounts only with sources suffering from these self-same failings. This latest report for the UN Council for Human Rights shares these irremediable defects.
Poll from early 2023 showing public sentiment about respect for basic rights un Nicaragua
It is worth pointing out that in an interview in June 2021, Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Denis Moncada complained, “We see that the High Commissioner for Human Rights is always reporting in a distorted way, without objectivity, and although we have constantly sent our reports, she ignores what Nicaragua informs her and stays with what the United States says, which is to accuse and use lies and falsehoods against Nicaragua.”
This latest report by a team with a long record of association with the Organization of American States and the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, confirms Foreign Minister Moncada’s remarks. The expert group assertion that it sought to engage with the Nicaraguan authorities is entirely in bad faith given the repeated failure of their predecessors to make fair use of substantial material presented by the Nicaraguan government to both the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and to the OAS Inter-American Commission for Human Rights. This material was presumably available to the expert group had they chosen to ask for it.
In fact, The report continues the double standard generally applied by North American and European human rights institutions and organizations. They invent or grossly exaggerate concerns about Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela and other countries targeted by the US ruling classes and their NATO country counterparts. But they downplay, minimize and even ignore serious concerns about US allies like Chile or Colombia and others, including the United States itself.
One fundamentally important issue is that the available report constantly refers to what it calls “an extended report” without making that supposedly more detailed report generally available. This disingenuous ploy makes it impossible for independent researchers to appraise and evaluate the detail of the available report’s unsubstantiated accusations. It also lays the UN Human Rights Council open to the accusation that they have deliberately published the available report so as to prejudice world opinion in advance against Nicaragua. Thus, most world opinion will then be uninterested in or highly resistant to any honest examination of information that may or may not eventually be made public in what the expert group call their “extended report”.
The available report :
falsely claims that the initial protests on April 19th, 20th and 21st 2018 did not involve well organized extremely violent attacks by hundreds of often well armed opposition activists
fails to offer a credible explanation of how, between April 18th and July 17th 2018, 400 police officers suffered gunshot wounds, 22 officers were killed and how over 60 Sandinista supporters were killed with many hundreds injured
omits testimony from the many hundreds of victims of opposition violence and abuse
repeats without reliable independent corroboration accusations and claims from supporters and members of Nicaragua’s US government financed political opposition and non-governmental organizations
omits credible reports and reliable testimony contradicting those false accusations
suppresses evidence repeatedly presented by the Nicaraguan authorities contradicting those false accusations
evades the authors’ duty to take note of competing versions of the events on which they are reporting and explain why they discount or dismiss those versions
The report makes many false accusations
the demonstrations from April 18th 2018 onwards were peaceful but were attacked by police
the police and armed sandinista supporters committed extrajudicial murder of dozens of people
the health ministry ordered health workers not to attend to wounded opposition supporters
the Institute for Legal Medicine discriminated against relatives of opposition victims of the violence and denied them service
opposition supporters suffered arbitrary arrest and were denied due process
Nicaragua has provoked a refugee crisis in Costa Rica
marches and demonstrations are banned (in fact, the authorities have applied prior long standing rules requiring a commitment by the organizers of marches and demonstrations to ensure indemnity for any damage or destruction caused during the event)
The report makes innumerable omissions of evidence contradicting their claims for which the bloc of contrary evidence is overwhelming. This link contains just some examples of innumerable relevant reportsand interviews. Perhaps, the most serious omission in the expert group report is any reference to the attacks by hundreds of opposition supporters over April 19th, 20th and 21st including the use of firearms and molotov cocktails in Managua, León, Masaya, Chinandega, Jinotepe, Diriamba, Granada, Estelí and elsewhere which were extensively reported at the time in local media. Likewise the report omits mentioning the well documented armed attacks on police stations in Masaya, Jinotepe, Nagarote, Mulukuku, Morrito, El Cuapa, El Coral, El Morrito and Puerto Príncipe, among others.
A further notable omission is any discussion of how the expert group’s report of events in 2018 explains the massive economic damages and losses suffered as a direct result of the opposition violence during their failed coup attempt. Damage to state institutions and municipalities totaled U$206.5 million. 53 buildings were destroyed, 203 buildings were damaged. 1,416 vehicles and large machines were damaged or destroyed. 18,165 items of office machinery and equipment were damaged, destroyed or stolen. 18 government institutions, municipal authorities and 3 universities reported damage and destruction to sites of cultural heritage. The expert group report completely omits this information, although it is readily available in government statements and media reports.
Anyone familiar with Nicaragua, or who follows in good faith reporting by national and international media on the country, will be aware of this information and its respective sources. But the expert group report, like all the previous US and European human rights reports on Nicaragua, appears to have limited its research almost entirely to sources overtly supporting Nicaragua’s violent coup promoting opposition, funded by the United States government or the European Union and its respective governments. All these sources overwhelmingly support not only the promoters of the terrorism enacted during the 2018 failed coup attempt but also these same people’s subsequent efforts to continue destabilizing Nicaragua’s economy and overthrow its elected government.
Similarly, the scandalous false accusations of systematic torture and ill treatment of prisoners are contradicted by repeated opinion polls indicating the Nicaraguan population’s faith and confidence in the country’s institutions and overwhelming support for the government. The regionally respected M&R polling company has the best record of prediction with regard to Nicaragua of any of the local or regional opinion poll companies in Central America. M&R has produced a series of polls many of which are available at this link and which make nonsense of the UN expert group’s false allegations.
The same is true of repeated election results since 2018, namely, the regional Caribbean elections of March 2019, the national elections of 2021 and the local municipal elections of 2022. The FSLN won all those elections involving high voter participation with strong majorities and a consistent pattern of support for the opposition political parties running a few points over 30%. That pattern has persisted in all the elections held since 2011. Thus, both the most accurate regional polling company and the Nicaraguan people themselves repeatedly demonstrate overwhelming support for their government, implicitly contradicting the outrageous allegations of the UN Group of experts portraying Nicaragua as a repressive dictatorship.
A constant theme in the Expert Group’s report is the claim that the Nicaraguan government has “instrumentalized” the country’s legal system for political purposes to attack legitimate political opposition. In fact, Nicaragua’s authorities have simply applied the law to prosecute criminals responsible for organizing, funding or carrying out acts of terrorism, as documented in many of the accompanying links. The expert group itself has politicized and weaponized the UN human rights system so as to attack Nicaragua.
Essentially, on Nicaragua or any other country targeted by the Western ruling classes and the governments they own, the question is who to believe. On one side the United States, its allies and their powerful instritutional, media, academic and NGO apparatus suggest that Nicaragua is a failed state dictatorship whose authorities are ruthless and sadistic and enjoy very little popular support. On the other hand every available real world social and economic indicator indicates that Nicaragua has a successful developing economy and an optimistic society with a government that enjoys overwhelming popular support. Now, this false UN report will be used to justify economic and trade measures to damage Nicaragua’s economy and its people’s well being, just as similar false reports to the UN Council for Human Rights have been used in the past, seeking to destroy other countries, from Libya to Syria and Venezuela, and even the Russian Federation.
