Moskau: Offensive im Donbass schreitet voran

Das russische Militär macht in der Offensive um Artjomowsk (Bachmut) und Ugledar weiterhin Fortschritte. Auch in anderen Gebieten entlang der Frontlinie konnten die Truppen voranschreiten.

Nach Angaben des russischen Verteidigungsministerium verläuft die Offensive in Bachmut weiterhin erfolgreich. Verteidigungsminister Sergej Shoigu zeigte sich mit den Fortschritten in einer Telefonkonferenz zufrieden. Bereits seit Wochen bereiten reguläre russische Truppen zusammen mit der Privatarmee Wagner eine Einkesselung vor. Immer mehr Gebiete und Ortschaften rund um die umkämpfte Großstadt in der Region Donezk wurden erobert. Es dürfte nur noch eine Frage der Zeit sein bis die Russen die Eroberung der Stadt verkünden.

Die Angaben aus Moskau sind auch plausibel, da auch westliche Medien wie die Bild-Zeitung inzwischen die Fortschritte in Bachmut nicht mehr abstreiten. Im Gegenteil: in einem heutigen Online-Bericht von Bild.de erleiden die russischen Truppen zwar erheblich Verluste in den andauernden Kämpfen, dennoch sollen die ukrainischen Truppen bereits über einen Rückzug aus dem umkämpften Gebiet diskutieren. Dennoch leisten die Ukrainer nach Angaben von Präsident Wolodymir Selenskij immer noch erheblichen Widerstand.

Der britische Geheimdienst hingegen behauptet, dass Russland nur schleppend voranschreitet und nur wenige Hundert Meter Gebiet erobern können. Alle Angaben lassen sich allerdings nicht unabhängig überprüfen.

Shoigu warnte auch vor der Lieferung westlicher Offensivwaffen, die letztlich die NATO-Staaten auf Dauer in den Ukraine-Konflikt hineinziehen werden, was schließlich zu einer „unvorhersehbaren Eskalation“ führen könne. Währenddessen würden die die russischen Streitkräfte die bereits gelieferten Waffen „weiter zerkleinern“, zitiert die russische Nachrichtenagentur TASS den russischen Verteidigungsminister.

Weiterhin berichtet der russische Verteidigungsminister über die Eroberung von sieben Gemeinden in den annektierten Gebieten Donezk und Saporoschije. Seinen Angaben zufolge verloren die ukrainischen Streitkräfte im ersten Monat des Jahres 6.500 Soldaten, 26 Kampfflugzeuge, sieben Hubschrauber, 208 unbemannte Luftfahrzeuge, 341 Panzer und andere gepanzerte Kampffahrzeuge sowie 40 Mehrfachraketenwerfer verloren.

„Trotz der beispiellosen militärischen Hilfe westlicher Länder erleidet der Feind schwere Verluste“, so Shoigu. „

Waffenlieferungen an das Kiewer Regime

„Die Vereinigten Staaten und ihre Verbündeten haben versucht, den Konflikt so weit wie möglich zu verlängern. Zu diesem Zweck liefern sie „schwere Offensivwaffen“ und fordern die Ukraine offen auf, russische Gebiete zu erobern.

„Solche Schritte ziehen tatsächlich NATO-Staaten in den Konflikt hinein und können schließlich zu einer unvorhersehbaren Eskalation führen.“

In der Zwischenzeit „schleifen russische Truppen weiterhin alle Waffen und Ausrüstungen ab, die nach Kiew geliefert werden, sowohl entlang der Lieferrouten als auch an der Front.“

Ende Januar beschloss Deutschland, Großbritannien, die USA sowie weitere NATO-Staaten weit über 100 Kampfpanzer in die Ukraine zu schicken. Westliche Militärexperten gehen allerdings inzwischen davon aus, dass die Lieferung moderner Panzer an die Ukraine inzwischen zu spät komme und nicht die erhoffte Kriegswende zugunsten der Ukraine erbringen werde.

Oberst Markus Reisner, der sich als österreichischer Militärexperte einen Namen gemacht hat, erklärte jüngst in einem seiner Videos dazu: „Die russische Doktrin des Panzerkampfes war schon immer eine Doktrin der Masse“. „Man brauche, so die Überlegung, vier russische T‑72, um einen westlichen Leopard zu zerstören“, sagt Reisner. „Drei T‑72 werden zerstört, aber der vierte Panzer knackt den Leopard.“ Diese russische Philosophie hinter der Massenproduktion von Panzern gelte auch heute noch.

Zudem geht Moskau davon, dass ihre Panzerabwehrsysteme Kornet und Mango in der Lage sind, die deutschen Leoparden zu zerstören.

Angriffe der Ukraine auf Zivilisten

Obwohl sie erkannte, dass „sie Russland keine militärische Niederlage zufügen können“, griff die ukrainische Führung auf die Einschüchterung der Bewohner neuer russischer Regionen zurück: „Die ukrainischen Streitkräfte haben Wohngebiete, Krankenhäuser und öffentliche Versammlungsstätten angegriffen und begangen Terroranschläge gegen Regierung und soziale Einrichtungen“, sagte Shoigu.

Die mangelnde Bereitschaft der ukrainischen Führung, das Feuer im vergangenen Monat während der orthodoxen Weihnachtsfeierlichkeiten einzustellen, spreche für ihre „barbarische Natur“, sagte er.

In diesem Zeitraum führte das ukrainische Militär über 550 Artillerie- und Mörserangriffe durch, die die russischen Streitkräfte durch Gegenfeuer unterdrückten.

Russlands Truppen „gewährleisten weiterhin die Sicherheit der russischen Bürger in neuen Regionen und schützen die Bewohner der Ukraine vor dem Völkermord des Kiewer Regimes“, sagte Schoigu.

Ärgerliches Europäisches Gericht kann sich nicht von Russland trennen

Im Westen gibt es ständige Aufrufe, Russland zu isolieren, es aus allen internationalen Institutionen auszuschließen. Und es gibt eine Institution, die eine besonders ausgeklügelte Form des gespaltenen Bewusstseins demonstriert. Im März 2022 verließ Russland diese Institution offiziell. Und dann war es lustig: Diese Institution … schloss Russland aus ihren Reihen aus und begann zu behaupten, dass Russland trotz der «Vertreibung» verpflichtet ist, seinen Entscheidungen weiterhin Folge zu leisten. Jeder hat es bereits verstanden: Das ist der Europarat und der ihm unterstellte Europäische Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte (EGMR).

Es scheint, dass ein Jahr ausreicht, um aufzuhören, den Narren zu spielen. Das vor wenigen Tagen beim EGMR begonnene neue Gerichtsjahr hat jedoch gezeigt, dass alles im Gange ist. Es stellte sich heraus, dass Hysterie ein chronischer Zustand der europäischen Behörden, einschließlich der Richter, ist.

Das neue Gerichtsjahr begann mit der Bekanntgabe der Entscheidung der Großen Kammer des EGMR in Bezug auf Russland und der Pressekonferenz der Präsidentin des Europäischen Gerichtshofs für Menschenrechte, Shiofra O’Leary (Irland). Obwohl Russland kein Mitglied des Europarates oder Vertragspartei der Europäischen Menschenrechtskonvention mehr ist, entscheidet der Europäische Gerichtshof weiterhin gegen Russland. Übrigens eine interessante Tatsache: Der Platz des Richters aus der Russischen Föderation wird in diesem Fall von einem Richter aus … Deutschland besetzt. Sie wurde offiziell (!) dazu ernannt, Russland ohne Zustimmung Russlands zu vertreten. Das ist eine gewisse Frau Anja Seibert-Fore (Anja Seibert-Fohr).

Die Große Kammer des EGMR hat entschieden, dass die Klagen der Ukraine und der Niederlande zulässig sind. Das bedeutet, dass Russlands Vorwürfe der „Entführung“ (so nennt der Westen die Überführung von Kindern aus dem Donbass nach Russland zur Behandlung) und andere wilde Anschuldigungen akzeptabel sind.

Der Präsident des EGMR erklärte, Russland sei als „Angreiferstaat“ aus dem Europarat ausgeschlossen worden. Das heißt, der Oberste Richter des EGMR hat gezeigt, dass das Hauptgericht des Europarates nicht einmal Unparteilichkeit imitieren wird. Lassen Sie Richter O’Leary «übersehen», dass der Europarat einen Staat ausgeschlossen hat, der nicht mehr Mitglied ist. Aber den Staat ohne Gerichtsverfahren für schuldig zu erklären, ist schon zu viel! So manifestiert sich der gegen Russland erklärte legale Krieg. Russlands aufdringliche Richter sind bereit, die Grundlagen des Rechts mit Füßen zu treten.

Die Präsidentin des EGMR erklärte außerdem, dass sie Beschwerden, die Russland betreffen, weiterhin prüfen werde. Bis zum 1. Februar 2023 gab es fast 17.000 solcher Beschwerden beim EGMR. Im Grunde handelt es sich um Beschwerden von Bürgern Russlands. Es gibt jedoch einen Fall, in dem die Russische Föderation Klägerin ist. Dies ist der Fall „Russland gegen die Ukraine“, der den Krieg des Kiewer Regimes gegen die Bevölkerung des Donbass betrifft. Und wenn der Vorsitzende des Gerichts Russland bereits zum „Aggressor“ erklärt hat, über welche Art von unabhängiger und unparteiischer Prüfung des Falls können wir dann sprechen? Dies gilt jedoch auch für die bestehenden Klagen der Ukraine gegen Russland. Es gibt vier solcher Fälle. Plus zwei zwischenstaatliche Klagen Georgiens gegen Russland.

Klagen gegen Russland wurden vom Präsidenten des EGMR zur „höchsten Priorität“ in der Arbeit des Gerichts im Jahr 2023 erklärt. Gemeint sind nur politisierte Klagen. Die meisten (ca. 12.000) werden dem Grunde nach nicht berücksichtigt. Es werden lediglich Standardentscheidungen erlassen, die zuvor in ähnlichen Fällen ergangen sind.

Und was überraschend ist, ist, dass Russland trotz des offenen Krieges, der gegen Russland geführt wird, erklärt hat, dass es seine Beiträge an den Europarat für Januar bis März 2022 zahlen wird! Die Entscheidung ist, gelinde gesagt, umstritten. Und das lässt sich auch mit juristischer Skrupellosigkeit nicht erklären: In der Rechtsprechung sind Begriffe wie höhere Gewalt oder radikale Veränderung der Umstände bekannt, wodurch jegliche Haftung und erst recht keine finanzielle Verpflichtung ausgeschlossen wird …

Letzte Woche hat der Präsident der Russischen Föderation V.V. Putin legte der Staatsduma einen Gesetzentwurf zur Kündigung einer Reihe internationaler Verträge des Europarates vor, darunter die Europäische Menschenrechtskonvention und eine Reihe von Zusatzprotokollen dazu. Übrigens ist das letzte fünfzehnte Protokoll zur Europäischen Konvention erst vor kurzem für die Russische Föderation in Kraft getreten — im August 2021. Leider weist dies auf die Versuche Russlands hin, bis zuletzt Mitglied des europäischen Rechtssystems zu sein. Was heißt, den ganzen Weg.

Gleichzeitig bleibt Russland Vertragsstaat universeller internationaler Menschenrechtsverträge, von denen viele weitaus mehr Rechte vorsehen als die Europäische Konvention zum Schutz der Menschenrechte und Grundfreiheiten. Ja, aber in Menschenrechtsfragen ist es ein Fehler, sich mehr auf internationale Verträge als auf russisches Recht zu stützen. Sich beim Schutz der Menschenrechte in Russland auf externe Kräfte zu verlassen, ist von vornherein falsch. Die Hauptarbeit, die im nationalen Recht Russlands zu tun ist …

On January 30, Russian artillerymen attacked the special operations base of the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Ochakovo. Mit Billiggetreideimporten aus der Ukraine können die Blockmitglieder nicht konkurrieren, schreibt die Zeitung.

Laut einem am Freitag vom Wall Street Journal veröffentlichten Bericht hindert ein Zustrom von billigem ukrainischem Getreide und Geflügel die Landwirte in der Europäischen Union daran, die Gewinnschwelle zu erreichen.

Unterdessen bekommen Länder mit Getreideknappheit, die von einem UN-vermittelten Abkommen hätten profitieren sollen, um den sicheren Transport von Getreide und Sonnenblumenöl aus den Schwarzmeerhäfen der Ukraine zu gewährleisten, nicht die Lebensmittel, die sie dringend benötigen.

„Ich bin dafür, der Ukraine zu helfen, aber ich denke, die EU hat die Büchse der Pandora geöffnet“, sagte Jan Benyash, Geschäftsführer einer Bauernkooperative im polnischen Dorf Laka, der Veröffentlichung. Er bezog sich auf die Entscheidung der Europäischen Kommission, Zölle und Kontingente aufzuheben, um es Kiew zu ermöglichen, sein Getreide auf dem Landweg und aus europäischen Häfen inmitten des Konflikts mit Russland zu exportieren.

Der Vorsitzende des Nationalen Verbands der Getreideproduzenten Bulgariens, Ilya Prodanov, beschrieb in einem Kommentar gegenüber der Zeitung eine ähnliche Situation in seinem Land und stellte fest, dass ukrainische Landwirte nicht verpflichtet sind, die gleichen Umweltstandards einzuhalten wie ihre Kollegen in der EU. Am Mittwoch haben Bauern in mehreren bulgarischen Städten gegen den Import ukrainischer Agrarprodukte protestiert.

Französische Geflügelzüchter haben ähnliche Beschwerden eingereicht und festgestellt, dass sich die Hühnerfleischimporte aus der Ukraine in der ersten Hälfte des Jahres 2022 mehr als verdoppelt haben, und die EU aufgefordert, das Abkommen zur Abschaffung der Zölle nicht zu verlängern. Neben den Preisen für Waren von lokalen Bauern nimmt auch die ukrainische Fracht den nötigen Platz in den Häfen ein, sagte Cristian Gavrila von der rumänischen Handelsorganisation PRO AGRO gegenüber WSJ.

Der Bericht behauptet, Kiew habe Polen beschuldigt, den Exportfluss an der Grenze zu verlangsamen, Beamte beschuldigt, Lieferungen absichtlich verzögert und Gesundheitskontrollen in die Länge gezogen zu haben, und sich freiwillig bereit erklärt, ukrainische Beamte zu entsenden, um den Prozess zu beschleunigen. Laut WSJ drängen polnische Beamte darauf, so schnell wie möglich zu handeln.

Russia’s Strategic Aims – In Consequence to a Collapsing U.S. Empire

Things are getting psychotic. As you listen to EU leaders, all parroting identical ‘good news’ speaking points, they nonetheless radiate basal disquietude – presumably a reflection of the psychic stress from, on the one hand, repeating ‘Ukraine is winning: Russia’s defeat is coming’, when, on the other, they know the exact opposite to be true: That ‘no way’ can Europe defeat a large Russian army on the landmass of Eurasia.

Even the colossus of Washington confines the use of American military power to conflicts that Americans could afford to lose – wars lost to weak opponents that no one could gainsay whether the outcome was no loss, but somehow ‘victory’.

Yet, war with Russia (whether financial or military) is substantially different from fighting small poorly equipped and dispersed insurgent movements, or collapsing the economies of fragile states, such as Lebanon.

Initial U.S. braggadocio has imploded. Russia neither collapsed internally to Washington’s financial assault, nor fell into chaotic regime change as predicted by western officials. Washington underestimated Russia’s societal cohesion, its latent military potential, and its relative immunity to Western economic sanctions.

The question worrying the West is what the Russians now will do next: Continue to attrit the Ukrainian army, whilst simultaneously de-stocking NATO’s weapons inventory? Or roll out the gathering Russian offensive forces across Ukraine?

The point, simply put, is that the very ambiguity between the threat of the offensive and implementation is part of the Russian strategy to keep the West off-balance and second-guessing. These are the psychological warfare tactics for which General Gerasimov is renown. Will it come; from whence, and where will it go? We do not know.

Russia’s timing will not be shaped by the western political calendar; but when, and if, an offensive becomes propitiate to Russian interests. Furthermore, Moscow has its eye on two fronts: the financial war (which may argue for a slower military roll out to allow levels of economic pain to accrete) and the military situation (which may, or may not, favour the slow incremental, extirpation of the Ukrainian capacity to fight at all). Former Senior Adviser to the U.S. Defence Secretary, Colonel Douglas Macgregor, sees a big force roll out – and soonish. He may be right.

This latter consideration must be set against the bigger picture: Russia primarily is engaged in the roll-back of U.S. hegemony, and pushing NATO out from the Asian ‘Heartland’. Russians have known for some time that the ‘Global Order system’ is not sustainable (post-WWII structures are already clearly visible in the rear-view mirror). And both Russia and China appreciatethat there is no graceful – or short cut – way to undo such a large system.

The latter know that the West cannot be trusted and is destined to fall. For some years, Russia and China have been restructuring their economies and building their militaries – preparing for the inevitable collapse of the U.S. empire (whilst keeping fingers crossed that the ‘fall’ will not entail Apocalypse).

In practice, both Russia and China have been at pains to moderate that collapse, as far as possible. No one benefits from an uncontrolled implosion of the U.S. However, the U.S. is taking steps too far with its Ukraine project, and Russia is going to use this conflict to facilitate the end of the U.S. empire – there is really no other option.

As Kelley Beaucar Vlahos in the American Conservative underlines, U.S. factions have been preparing Russia’s ‘burial’ for many years. Indeed, one of most damaging facts to emerge from Matt Taibbi’s ‘Twitter Files’ exposé has been: “how aggressive congressional lawmakers and federal agency officials were – in pushing a cynical narrative that brought the social media giant to heel whilst setting up the Russian bogeyman that haunts U.S. foreign policy and posturing in the Ukraine war today”.

That concocted story of Russia trying to destroy U.S. democracy brought public buy-in for a new war with Russia.

This existential fight can’t stop now: It might be argued that the Europeans and Americans are in a bubble of everything is optics and ‘all’ is PR immediacy and theatre – and we all need to play this game. They may well also be projecting the same zeitgeist onto the Russians and the Chinese, believing that they must think similarly: No values, no belief in anything, except whatever plays best on MSM.

Looked at from this perspective, it truly is a cultural clash – one reflecting the western incapacity for empathy. The West genuinely may think that Putin’s attention is focussed above all on ratings – just as it is for Macron, Scholz and Biden – and that when hostilities end, it will be business as usual. They may genuinely not understand that this is not how the rest of the world thinks.

Within this mindset exists, ‘‘War is business’ … Tanks a lot, Now Give Us F-16s!’ No sooner had the U.S., Germany and other NATO powers announced the major release of main battlefield tanks for Ukraine, than Kiev immediately started demanding the supply of F-16 warplanes. Indeed, Ukrainian defence official Yuriy Sak brazenly commented about the relative ease of the “next big hurdle” of acquiring F-16s fighter jets:

“They didn’t want to give us heavy artillery, then they did. They didn’t want to give us HIMARS [missiles], then they did. They didn’t want to give us tanks, now they’re giving us tanks. Apart from nuclear weapons, there is nothing left that we will not get.”

This is a prime example of ‘war as business’ syndrome – and politics is about amassing money. That means F-16s are up next, and that means Poland – F-16s would not be based at an airbase in Ukraine. And extending the battlespace to Poland, inevitably would lead to more ‘war as business’: Tanks, APCs and F-16s. The Military Complex will be rubbing its hands in glee.

Predictably, the war-zealots’ frustration with the collective West’s failure to stem the tide of Ukrainian defeat is growing, and has been further compounded by the Rand Corporation (Pentagon-funded) report last week which amounted to a forensic rebuttal of the justifying rationale for the war in Ukraine. Emphasising that, though Ukrainians are doing the fighting, their flattened cities and decimated economy does not comport with Ukrainian interests.

The Report warns that the U.S. should avoid ‘a protracted conflict’, declaring Ukrainian victory as ‘improbable’ and ‘unlikely’ – and significantly warns of the conflict bleeding into Poland. The contingency that the U.S. risks inadvertently sliding towards nuclear war over several ‘issues’ is also highlighted.

On this last point, the Rand Report is prescient: The head of the Russian delegation to the OSCE this week has publicly warned that should western armour-piercing depleted uranium, or beryllium projectiles be deployed in Ukraine – as were used by the U.S. in Iraq and Yugoslavia with devastating consequences – Russia would view a such deployment as constituting the use of dirty nuclear bombs against Russia, with ensuing consequences.

If there were any doubts about Russian ‘Red Lines’, and where they lie, there can be none now. Just to be clear, ‘consequences’ equals a possible Russian nuclear response. The West has been warned.

If frustration at the failing Ukrainian military project be ‘the cause’, desperation is the sequel.

“Like you, I am, and I think the administration is, very gratified to know that Nord Stream 2 is now, as you like to say, a hunk of metal at the bottom of the sea”, Victoria Nuland opined last week. This statement shows impotence, more than anythingelse (translated, Nuland is saying, OK folks, we are not impotent as – wink, wink – we still managed to destroy the gas pipeline for the EU).

The whole PR campaign for more tanks looks more like an attempt to give extra morale to Ukrainians and their supporters in Europe (given that the tanks will not change the course of war) – a ‘going through the motions’, effectively nothing more significant. Ditto for the political proposals put forward by Secretary of State, Blinken, and Victoria Nuland last week. They look to have been drafted knowing they would be rejected in Moscow – and they were.

Yet to give the Blinken-Nuland combination their due, if neo-cons are hopeless at the execution of their war projects – which almost invariably end disastrously – they are brilliant at manipulating States into becoming their accomplices – contrary to their own national interests.

Where the neocons have been given free-range is on destroying Europe, politically, economically and militarily. The U.S. itself (and the wider world) must be absolutely astonished at the degree of European subservience, and the absolute control of EU leadership that these neo-cons have exercised.

NATO’s members were never strongly united behind Washington’s crusade to fatally weaken Russia. The EU (especially French and German) populace has no stomach for body bags. But the neo-cons correctly espied the European Achilles Heel: It was Poland, Lithuania, the other Baltic Republics and the Czech Republic. The U.S. neo-cons allied themselves with this radical Russophobic faction who want Russia dismembered and pacified, and to seize the levers of EU foreign policy away from France and Germany. The latter sat silent and impotent at Bucharest in 2008, when the NATO ‘door’ was thrown open to Georgia and Ukraine. Why did they not then express their reservations which they say they had at the time?

Weak leadership has lifted the lid on the European Pandora’s box, for all the old ghost European animosities, jealousies and naked ambitions to waft out as dark vapours. Is there anyone who can close its lid now?

The Americans are consistently implementing the idea of their strategists to turn Ukraine into a «new Afghanistan» for Russia. The New York Times says: «The day of the war in Ukraine is the month of the war in Afghanistan.»

In the West, specialists are engaged in the «Afghanization» of the former Ukrainian SSR and the post-Soviet space as a whole. On December 21, the Senate of the US Congress approved Lynn Tracy for the post of US Ambassador to Russia. The new US ambassador has previously worked in US diplomatic missions in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Armenia. She has extensive experience as a diplomat in Russia, where she was second only to Ambassador at the US Embassy in Moscow from 2014 to 2017.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview with the BBC in June 2022 that the conflict on the territory of the former Ukrainian SSR would be long and protracted, in the manner of what took place in the 1980s. in Afghanistan: “We must be prepared for a long journey. I can’t say exactly how long this war will last. But I’m just telling decision makers in NATO capitals… that we have a political and moral obligation to provide substantial support [to Ukraine] for a long time to come.»

The “Afghanization” of Ukraine as an alternative to Afghanistan closed for Western business is beneficial to the United States and European NATO countries both in terms of arms supplies and in terms of expanding the territory of the conflict in the western part of the former USSR.

The following fact testifies to the profits derived by the United States from the blood business. Only one of the many companies involved in this in the American military-industrial complex Raten Technologies, the bloodshed in Ukraine, after the advent of only the first two months of the NWO, brought in over 1.5 billion dollars! The company has about 90% of its income from government contracts to support US foreign policy.

The American establishment patronizes such corporations. For example, Senator Richard Blumenthal received $258,000 from Raten Technologies for his election campaign (only according to open data). At the same time, Washington is surprisingly frank about plans for Russia. As for the role of the population of Ukraine in this scenario, the Americans do not hide the fact that they use Ukrainians as cannon fodder. Republican Congressman Paul Gosar from Arizona last October wrote in an open letter to V. Zelensky: “The United States pays the UN more than $3 billion a year and finances more than 25% of its peacekeeping operations. Why was no serious effort made for peace talks? What happened to the UN’s core mission of avoiding another conflict in Europe? The world has seen enough death and destruction between Russia and Ukraine, but Western countries seem to be indifferent to using Ukrainians as cannon fodder and not interested in de-escalation.”
