The story of the Georgian Legion is more than just battles and atrocities. Far from the battlefield, thousands of people are now soldiers on a second, digital front. They are engaged in both propaganda and attack, relentlessly swarming anyone who dares to question approved narratives. These are not random Internet trolls; rather, they operate with the approval and backing of the Pentagon and the Ukrainian defense apparatus.

This digital army is called NAFO, or the North Atlantic Fellas Organization. It is a thoroughly modern group, a bizarre amalgamation of neo-Nazis, gamers, trolls, crypto-scammers, and many more, with NATOintelligence and NGO backing providing the horsepower necessary to spread their message to every corner of the globe.
Unlike most far-right groups, their reach is not limited to Telegram groups and Discord chats. Through clever Internet memes and seemingly endless signal boosting from NATO’s propaganda apparatus, the Georgian Legion’s online army has grown to such an extent that it counts members of Congress and prime ministers among its ranks.
NAFO was created by 26-year-old Kamil Dyszewski, aka kama_kamilia, a Polish video game reviewer. When asked by a subscriber where they could donate to the Ukrainian war effort, Kamil suggested the Georgian Legion. Soon after, Kamil started making custom avatars for anyone who could prove they had donated to the Legion and before long a meme was born.
NAFO is steeped in gamer and “chan” culture with their memes, jokes and identity, all originating from the same hyper-online stock. Their avatars, known as “fellas,” are anthropomorphic cartoon Shiba Inu dogs based on a popular meme called Cheems. As memes tend to do, Cheems evolved from a funny picture of a dog posted on Instagram to an entire galaxy of derivatives and inside jokes. The meme has been widely circulating since 2017 and most “cheems” have no connection to NAFO whatsoever, even the anthropomorphized “fella” is little more than a derivative of earlier memes now turned to the service of the far right.
In the vein of groups like Anonymous, NAFO is informally organized. There are no real leaders, only influencers trying to steer the swarm of trolls in various directions and barriers to entry are intentionally very low. Anyone can “join” the group if they can post a screenshot proving they have donated to the Georgian Legion or placed an order with Saint Javelin.
This created a vast and amorphous group with no concrete ideology, but also one which is nearly impossible to pin down or snuff out. For each fella you block, it seems a dozen more are waiting in the wings.
NAFO is mostly directed via hashtag, with individual NAFO members using #Article5 or #WeAreNAFO to summon their comrades to attack any “vatniks” (a racial slur for Russians common among NAFO trolls) they find. You do not need to be a Russian to be deemed a “vatnik” by NAFO; the slur is used to describe anyone who holds an opinion counter to the NAFO hivemind, regardless of how true it is. When a target is found, NAFO swarms them with endless spam accusing them of being a Russian agent, along with mass reports to trigger algorithms that will ban their opponents.
Despite the nature of NAFO, Kamil is as close to a ringleader as anyone can be and is usually accepted either as the “boss of NAFO” or at least one of a handful of influencers with enough sway to credibly say they command the horde.
Although he is far from the only one, Kamil is the most prolific and well-known fella artist, often making dozens of avatars for the Legion’s backers each day, particularly those with a high profile such as “journalist” Malcolm Nance and Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL). Kamil also works with the official NAFO parent and merchandise company, Saint Javelin, which was founded by former BBC, CBC, and ViceChristian Borys. Borys claims to have raised more than one million dollars for the Georgian Legion so far, with new merchandise released regularly. Saint Javelin was created using seed money from the Ukrainian World Congress, an offshoot of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) that has been funded by American intelligence for seven decades.

Perhaps it should come as no surprise that Kamil is also a strident white supremacist, Holocaust denier, and neo-Nazi. As late as 2021, he regularly posted neo-Nazi and white supremacist memes on his Twitter account. Even after NAFO took off, he did not attempt to conceal this until he was outed in October 2022.
Once the curtain was lifted, Kamil released a pathetic “apology,” saying that he had changed and was too young to be held accountable for posts he made only two years ago. He now claims that he is not a Nazi and was simply making edgy jokes to “mess with people” and “fit in.” This begs the question of where Kamil was trying to fit in, and why anyone would ever want to win the approval of white supremacists and neo-Nazis.
Kamil is predictably silent on this, but his silence speaks volumes as to his true motivations, and those of the Georgian Legion. As of the time of publication, Kamil still works with Saint Javelin, which remains similarly silent regarding his Nazi “past.”

After deleting more than 2,400 of his tweets, Kamil locked his account to prevent anyone else from finding out what he was doing only a couple of years ago. Unfortunately for him, a vast amount of evidence has been collected showing Kamil is more than just a neo-Nazi troll making edgy jokes. He has made posts advocating violence against Black Lives Matter protesters and even seemingly has called for civil war as the far right stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.

The reaction from the rank-and-file NAFO trolls is one of almost complete support for Kamil, along with painting the whole affair as Russian propaganda or disinformation. Some of the more notableinfluencers (This person’s username, Lviv Nightingale, is a reference to the Lvivpogrom of 1941, during which more than 4,000 Jews were massacred by the OUN’s Nightingale Battalion as OUN leaders pledged allegiance to Adolf Hitler) within NAFO have tightened ranks in support of Kamil, who remains a well-paid and respected leader of NAFO.
To wit, Adam Kinzinger believes that thousands of neo-Nazi and white supremacist “jokes” made over years to “fit in” and “mess with people” is not enough evidence to call his friend Kamil a Nazi.
Sadly, Kinzinger did not require such a high standard of evidence before he participated in America’s illegal, brutal, and utterly unjustifiable war in Iraq, for which no evidence was ever presented. In Iraq, Kinzinger was not only willing to kill for an obvious lie but then based his entire political career on his participation in the greatest crime of the 21st century.
Despite collective amnesia from the western press and warmongers like Kinzinger, by 2006 when The Lancet released the most thorough and peer-reviewed study, America’s illegal war in Iraq was already the direct cause of more than 600,000 civilian deaths. This amounts to 100 times more than the current toll in Ukraine.
This staggering disparity has only increased in the following decade and a half as the world continues to grapple with the bloody fallout of America’s disastrous criminal invasion. Unfortunately, the extremely negative reaction to The Lancet study from a mainstream press cowed by arms dealers has prevented any follow-up studies to see how many more died because of Kinzinger’s war.
Kinzinger was not just a participant, but an enthusiastic supporter of the Iraq war during his time in Congress. Perhaps some of those would still be alive had Adam Kinzinger demanded the same standard of evidence he now hides behind in defense of his Nazi friends.
The irony is particularly sharp from Kinzinger, who was once very concerned by imaginary anti-Semitism from Ilhan Omar, but now defends real anti-Semitism from his friends. It seems that Kinzinger’s opposition to anti-Semitism is about as real as Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction.
While NAFO uses memes and jokes as a mask to hide its true face, the Georgian Legion does not need such scruples. They continue their wanton slaughter unabated, no doubt pleased with both the endless well of funding and distraction their internet minions provide.
Western Values

By the time a neo-Nazi gamer made them famous, the Georgian Legion had already been operating in Ukraine for eight years in one form or another.
According to Mamuka Mamulashvili, his unit was the first to enter the post-Maidan civil war. Starting in April 2014, they trained the infamous Special Tasks Patrol police units, recruited from among the thousands of neo-Nazis (many of them CIA-affiliated) who infested post-Maidan Ukraine. After the army evaporated almost overnight when asked by the Maidan regime to kill their friends, family, and countrymen, it fell to the STPs to crush the nascent counter-revolution in Donbas.
They carried out their mission with extreme brutality, subjugating cities and towns by any means necessary. It was more than just training; by his admission Mamuka took part in combat in Luhansk Oblast with the very first front-line units.
However, Mamuka was present in Ukraine much earlier. Weeks after the Maidan protests began in December 2013, Mamuka was already soliciting mercenaries, offering $60,000 to beat opposition leaders. Upon arriving in the country, Mamuka’s mercenaries attacked police with rocks and Molotov cocktails, hoping to provoke a massacre in response.
When that failed, Mamuka planned a massacre of his own. On February 20th, mercenaries opened fire on the crowd from the Kyiv Philharmonic and Hotel Ukraina buildings, killing some 50 people from both sides. While the Western media blamed the Yanukovych administration for these attacks, all evidence was destroyed by the Maidan government after it came to power and the crime remains unsolved. The victims were among those the Maidan regime dubbed the “Heavenly Hundred” and are venerated by the state with a nearly religious fervor.
While Mamuka had been fighting in Ukraine for years prior, the Georgian Legion was not officially founded until 2016 when a new law allowed foreigners to join the Ukrainian Army.
Almost immediately after, three unnamed U.S. Army officers were the Legion’s first recruits and they set about creating an officer corps for the fledgling unit. The unit was small until the 2022 war opened the floodgates and it now has thousands of soldiers from 32 countries. The Legion has grown in both size and sophistication; they have only the most cutting-edge NATO war machines and make sure to include them in their endless streams of slickly produced social media propaganda.
Mamuka frequently insists that he vets members, particularly looking to weed out neo-Nazis or fascists who, he claims, are not welcome in the Legion. If he is telling the truth, Mamuka has failed utterly at this and the unit is rife with neo-Nazis from around the world. Maybe Mamuka is too far from the battlefield in his headquarters shared with the Azov Battalion to see that some of the worst neo-Nazis in the world fight alongside the Legion.
Vanguard America was the group responsible for the murder of Heather Heyer at the 2017 Charlottesville Unite the Right Rally, and it was the TWP which organized the rally. Gray was one of the lead organizers and provided combat training for the participants. After the attacks, Gray bragged on a neo-Nazi podcast about how TWP had “fought off the beaner hordes” and the host was so enraptured by Gray’s tall tales that, by the end of the segment, he was repeatedly shouting “white power” at the top of his lungs.
Gray’s association with Atomwaffen is even more disturbing. In keeping with their name, Atomwaffen is best known for attempted nuclear terrorism against historically Black colleges and at least a half dozen murders. Atomwaffen’s founder, Brandon Russell, was eventually arrested and sentenced to five years in a Federal Penitentiary. He served fewer than six months before his release in 2021, despite spending much of that time sending bomb-making instructions to his comrades.
Gray joined the Legion no later than January 2022 and was wounded by Russian artillery in April. Paul is more than just a soldier in the Legion; he often represents them on American TV with more than a half dozen appearances on Fox News and has received almost worshipful praise from the media.
It seems Mamuka’s “vetting program” is little more than a PR campaign designed to launder fascists into freedom fighters. Sadly, it has succeeded. Despite Paul’s well-publicized links to violent neo-Nazi groups, Gray and the Legion avoid any real scrutiny from the credulous Western press.
The Georgian Legion is not just foreign mercenaries; many of its members are the cream of the rotten crop from Georgia’s far right. Even in the company of some of the world’s most vile neo-Nazis, the Georgian Legion’s homegrown killers are second to none.
On March 30, 2022, the Legion released one of its many propaganda videos revealing a successful “cleansing operation” about five miles north of Bucha. A bearded man celebrates wordlessly, drowned out by music, in front of the bodies of several Russian soldiers before the camera cuts to a captured armored vehicle. In this censored version, you see a scene of military glory; the Georgian Legion has vanquished its enemies and captured their weapons.
In the full-length video, reserved at first for Ukrainian-language Telegram channels, you see what a “cleansing operation” really looks like. At the beginning of this extremely disturbing footage, several bound Russian soldiers lay with their throats slit in pools of their blood as the cameraman brags about Georgian prowess and shouts out his housing complex. One of the Russians starts to gurgle as he fights for air, catching the attention of the cameraman, who shoots the prisoner.
Somehow the bound prisoner survives, and his breathing grows increasingly ragged as he desperately struggles for air. The cameraman yells “Look, he’s still alive!” before one of his comrades finally executes the prisoner with three shots at close range. The Georgians spend the rest of the video looting, celebrating, and posing for pictures with the men they murdered as they shout the old Fascist greeting “Slava Ukraini” back and forth, albeit without the traditional “Roman salute” that accompanied it.
Some of the men’s clothes and equipment were still there when ex-Daily Mail journalist Oz Katerji toured the site several days later. Katerji was so impressed with what he saw that he donated to the Legion soon after and became one of the most enthusiastic NAFO fellas. Once again, a “mainstream conservative” who spent so much of his time decrying imaginary anti-Semitism, this time from Jeremy Corbyn, is enthralled the moment he sees the genuine article.
The killer was identified as Georgian Legionnaire Teymuraz Khizanishvili, a former bodyguard of Mikheil Saakashvili, the disgraced pro-NATO prime minister of Georgia from 2004 to 2013 and a close ally of the Mamulashvili family. The crime was so brazen that even British intelligence asset Eliot Higgins of Bellingcat and TheNew York Times were forced to confirm its veracity. For his part, Mamuka doubled down when confronted with this evidence in an interview.

Mamuka attempted to backpedal in later interviews, denying that the killer was a member of the Legion before saying his rant about never taking prisoners was taken out of context. Mamuka said what he really meant is they were handed over to MPs instead of taken by the Legion, but the damage was already done.
Still, Mamuka’s panicked denial was much more credible than Anton Gerashenko, an adviser to the interior minister and former Kharkiv gangster in charge of the infamous and universallycondemned hit list Myrotvorets. On Gerashenko’s Telegram, he released a bizarre statement claiming the massacre was faked by the Russian FSB using actors and animal blood. This fantasy was the best he could do in the face of such obvious evidence.
The Ukrainian government claimed that the people responsible for this atrocity would be brought to justice. As of the time of publication, no charges have been filed, no arrests have been made, and there is no indication of any investigation whatsoever. The Legion is still active on the front lines, and NAFO has only grown larger in response to both scandal and atrocity.
Domesticated Wolves
Sometimes, when we look at dogs it can be hard to imagine that long ago, their ancestors were among the most formidable hunters on Earth.
Tens of thousands of years ago, the primordial wolf ancestors of every Pug and Chihuahua could chase prey for hours until it finally succumbed to exhaustion and then tear their quarry apart with their teeth. They would run dozens of miles in pitch darkness, with no food or water and little concern for terrain or weather, then feed for days straight. These wolves were highly intelligent, resilient and adaptable, leading to thriving populations all around the world. However, despite their prowess, even wolves sometimes go hungry.
We still do not know when or where, but at some point a very long time ago, a desperate wolf’s hunger overrode its fear of fire and it approached a group of humans hoping for some scraps. One of the humans must have obliged, and eventually the two species found themselves in a mutually beneficial situation. From then on, humanity went about the task of domesticating the wolf, and the two species were forever joined at the hip.
It was a long genetic march over dozens of millennia to mold Canis Lupus into the domestic dog. After countless generations of selective breeding, the wild predator became a beloved friend and companion to humanity. Today many of us cannot imagine our life without a dog by our side, and our breeding efforts have resulted in countless breeds of all shapes and sizes, many of them a far cry from their wild ancestors.
However, despite humanity’s best efforts, some part of the ancient wolf remains in every dog. If you look closely enough, you can still see the killer inside as your dog chases after the ball it views as prey and shakes the squeaky toy designed to mimic the sounds of a dying rodent. In the mind of a dog, it is still the predator its ancestors once were.
What we are seeing now is an attempt to domesticate the Georgian Legion, turning the Nazi wolves into NAFO’s funny little dogs in the mind of the public.
Many fellas cannot accept that Kamil is a Nazi because he is their friend and comrade. When they look at Kamil, they do not see the virulent neo-Nazi who was denying the Holocaust and glorifying right-wing terrorists to “fit in” and “mess with people” only a few years ago. Rather, they see their friend who makes funny memes and jokes while they hunt for “vatniks.” While Kamil has not changed, how he is perceived has.
Now, when the general public sees the media bending over backwards to fete Paul Gray, it will be as difficult for them to see him as a Nazi terrorist who orchestrated the murder of Heather Heyer and tried to send dirty bombs to Black colleges as it is to imagine a pug tearing apart a bull elk with its teeth. This is absolutely intentional.
NAFO is simply the latest evolution of a project that has been going on for 80 years. Before the Second World War was over, the founders of the so-called liberal international order were already setting up the structures they would use to weaponize the world’s fascists against the Soviet Union and China.
The echoes of these operations can still be heard throughout Ukraine today. Even after the death of Allen Dulles’s Gladiators (see Daniele Ganser’s NATO’s Secret Armies: Operation GLADIO and Terrorism in Europe), their children and grandchildren still use the same structures, financed from the same places for the same end goal, crushing any nation that dares to challenge the “rules-based international order” that the ruling class holds so dear.

Of course, something of the predator will always remain. The Legion and all the other Nazis infesting Ukraine are not wolves that we can mold into our beloved pets. Violence and oppression are an indivisible pillar of their ideology; the idea of a peaceful, tolerant Nazi is a contradiction on par with a vegetarian wolf. The “domestication” of the Legion is nothing more than a ruse.
This is not a problem for the people who orchestrated this war; the liberal internationalists never wanted family pets. Mamuka and the fellas finally give them what they have spent 80 years looking for: a pack of wolves that can fool the world into believing that they are nothing but dogs.

The four-part series begins with shocking and tragic footage of the multiple shots hitting JFK in the throat and head as he rode in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963.[2]

Slate founding publisher David Talbot wrote the book Brothers: The Hidden History of the Kennedy Years. He reported talking to Robert F. Kennedy’s aides who all thought the Warren Commission organized by Lyndon Johnson, JFK’s successor, produced a “fairy tale” report.

JFK Evolved into a Civil Rights-Supporting Anti-Imperialist Leaving Vietnam’s Opium
All four chapters of JFK: Destiny Betrayed present little-known aspects of JFK’s evolution toward positive work for the rights of the oppressed at home and abroad.
The first chapters discuss JFK’s opposition to CIA machinations.
JFK and RFK were arguably the most powerful people, outside of the Civil Rights movement itself, to lead the passage of the most comprehensive Civil Rights legislation since the Emancipation Proclamation, with their 1963-crafted Civil Rights Act.[4]
Chapter 3 presents Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., stating his belief in the sincerity of the President and Attorney General as friends and advocates for Civil Rights.[5]
Regarding JFK’s political evolution, the series started with John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert’s visit to Vietnam in 1951 when he was a U.S. congressman and Robert was his campaign manager. JFK and RFK ended up finding that France’s war to continue colonizing Vietnam was futile and Vietnam deserved independence.
After becoming a senator in 1953, JFK opposed the advice of Secretary of State John Foster Dulles to help the French in Vietnam by using nuclear weapons.

JFK also ended up giving a famous speech in the Senate in 1957 entitled “Imperialism: The Enemy of Freedom,” in which he called for supporting anti-colonialism in Africa and Asia.[6] This brought the wrath of both Democrats and Republicans on him.
Once in the White House, while President Kennedy and his brother waged war on the Cuban Revolution, they ultimately did not back a full-fledged military invasion of Cuba and forced CIA Director Allen Dulles’s resignation over the Bay of Pigs.
Allen and John Foster Dulles were lawyers representing various oligarchs’ interests. JFK further planned to “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds.”
While this documentary failed to mention it, President Kennedy also closed down Dulles’s CIA Project MK-Ultra twice, as people under Dulles kept it running behind JFK’s back.
As President Kennedy evolved toward wanting peace with the Soviet Union, Cuba and other leftist countries, he started back-channel correspondences with those countries’ leaders. Top JFK researchers such as James Douglas and Slate’s publisher, Talbot, published on the secret correspondence JFK and Khrushchev had behind their war-hawk generals’ backs.
JFK reportedly said to Norman Cousins that he was 100% committed to disabling all nuclear arms and he was ready to talk to the Soviet Khrushchev about that.
President Kennedy’s final blow against the war-mongering oligarchs came when he decided against sending American ground troops into Vietnam, and ordered an eventual complete pull-out of American involvement there.

The Warren Commission Report concluded that only Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President John F. Kennedy.
Author David Talbot referenced RFK’s aides saying Bobby Kennedy was determined to start an official inquiry into his brother’s assassination as soon as he entered the White House in 1969. RFK’s California 1968 presidential primary nearly assured that until gunmen assassinated RFK that primary night.[7]
Regarding the Warren Commission, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., summed up the fact that “commissions in this country anoint orthodoxies.”
Church Committee Senator Richard Schweiker (R-PA) stated that FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover had confirmed to him in a letter that Lee Harvey Oswald assassin Jack Ruby worked as an FBI informant.[8]
In April 1964, CIA-contracted Dr. Louis Jolyon West, who had regular correspondence with CIA Project MK-Ultra Director Sidney Gottlieb, interviewed Jack Ruby for 48 hours. Ruby reportedly had a sudden “acute psychotic break” during those interview hours. This barred any testimony from Ruby.[9]
Chapter 2 of JFK: Destiny Betrayed also linked Jack Ruby to the Mafia working with the CIA on removing President Fidel Castro in Cuba. The Church Committee exposed Johnny Roselli’s function as a liaison between the CIA and Mafia, which RFK Jr. claimed his father had been unaware of.[10]

The end of Chapter 1 presented several witnesses who confirmed that Lee Harvey Oswald was not on the 6th floor of the building from where the Warren Report said he fired fatal shots.
More government documents around JFK’s assassination could have aided this conclusion but the FBI and CIA successfully appealed to President Trump to not release the remaining documents.[11]
The Autopsy Supports Gunmen Shooting in Front of JFK
Chapter 2 of JFK: Destiny Betrayed focuses more on JFK’s autopsy. Numerous doctors’ reports contradict the Warren Commission’s conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald fired his fatal shots at JFK from behind him, out of the book depository’s 6th floor window.
For example, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Dr. Malcolm O. Perry and Dr. Kent Clark examined JFK and stated there was a bullet exit wound in the right rear of the head, as well as an entrance would in the front of the throat.
Nurse Audrey Bell said powerful people forced Dr. Malcolm Perry to change his description the following day. Dr. Donald Miller, a colleague of Dr. Perry, also said Perry told him there was a bullet wound that was undeniably an entrance wound in the front of the throat.[12]

Dr. Charles Crenshaw also saw JFK at Parkland Hospital and saw that JFK was shot in the front of the head.
Dr. Cyril Wecht, who had offered to aid the autopsy at the time, but only could offer advice later upon reviewing the autopsy report, weighed in on the findings. He said the Warren Report would have us believe the absurdity that Oswald’s second gunshot (the so-called “magic bullet”) caused seven wounds in two different people—JFK in the backseat of the car and Texas Governor John Connally in the front seat.[13]
JFK: Destiny Betrayed also presents oncologist David Mantik, M.D. Ph.D., who reported that the x-rays of JFK’s head showed a fragment trail from the front to the back of his skull, which offered incontrovertible evidence that he was shot from the front.[14]
Other key physical evidence around the assassination included attorney Mark Lane reporting that the Dallas District Attorney’s office had a paraffin test done on purported assassin Lee Harvey Oswald on November 22, 1963. That test showed that Oswald had not fired a rifle.[15]

More of Intelligence’s Fingerprints on JFK’s Assassination
British magazine editor Frances Stonor Saunders, in her book The Cultural Cold War: The CIA and the World of Arts and Letters, detailed how the wealthiest families started the CIA with their own family members or attorneys at the top of its leadership.[16]
The CIA’s highest-ranking whistleblower, Assistant Director Victor Marchetti, wrote The CIA and the Cult of Intelligence, also documenting how the wealthiest white Anglo-Saxon Protestant families had members at the top of the CIA hierarchy. He was the sole Catholic close to the top tier of the CIA.
The CIA proceeded to do the oligarchical families’ bidding. Many of these families were involved in the opium trade. President Kennedy’s decision to pull out 1,000 troops out of Vietnam by the end of 1963 went against their interests regarding that trade next to the Golden Triangle for poppy fields in Laos, Burma (Myanmar) and Thailand (this JFK series only mentions the war industry’s lost profits).[17]
Regarding JFK’s assassination, Church Committee member Schweiker said: “Everywhere you looked… there were fingerprints of intelligence.”[18]
Otto Otepka, U.S. Deputy Director of the U.S. State Department’s Office of Security, tried to investigate Lee Harvey Oswald on his own when Oswald was listed as a Soviet defector. CIA Associate Deputy Director James Angleton refused to respond to Otepka and tried to get him fired.
Oswald had worked for the government on the U-2 plane project, according to a CIA file on Oswald numbered #351164. Before that, Oswald was in the Marine Corps.[19]
Oswald had further worked with David Ferrie in the Civil Air Patrol in New Orleans, while also working with Nazi Party member Guy Bannister there.[20] Ferrie, in turn, worked with Cuban exiles who consistently plotted with the CIA to overthrow Fidel Castro.
The first Black Secret Service agent, Abraham Bolden, was handpicked by President Kennedy and present at the assassination.[21] He was visited by his superior, Elmer Moore, just after the assassination and Moore put a gun down in front of him intimidating him into silence.
Bolden tried to talk to the Warren Commission but was railroaded into a phony crime and jailed. Senate Church Committee witness James Gochenaur said he tried to ask Secret Service supervisor Elmer Moore about Agent Bolden. Moore responded, “Who are you working for? That goddamned lying nigger! We finally got him.”[22]
Assassination Aftermath and Legacy
After President Kennedy’s assassination, Vice President Lyndon Johnson took over and reversed most of JFK’s foreign policies. JFK had stated that he wanted to recognize Indonesian leftist leader Sukarno, signing an $11 million aid bill. Johnson supported his opponent, Suharto, who killed between 500,000 and 1 million Indonesians “identified as communists” after a CIA backed coup in 1965.
LBJ also started increasing the U.S. intervention in Vietnam on November 29, 1963, well before the fake “Gulf of Tonkin incident” led to the Johnson administration fully engaging in what would be a losing war with North Vietnam.[23] American involvement in Vietnam would lead to at least 60,000 American deaths and countless more injuries, as well as a reported two million Vietnamese deaths.[24]

The Vietnam War provided further cover for the CIA to import opium from the Golden Triangle that wound up addicting U.S. troops and countless other Americans. Within five to ten years of ending the Vietnam War in the mid-1970s, the CIA transferred this kind of operation to Afghanistan, the site of the Golden Crescent for opium-producing poppy fields.[25]
The CIA’s Project MK-Ultra, continued as MK-Search at least until the Church Committee investigated it in the mid-1970s, used drugs on activists, deleteriously drugging many.[26]
After JFK’s death, Robert F. Kennedy sent a message to Nikita Khrushchev, stating they knew the Soviets were not involved in his brother’s assassination, and that it was right-wingers.
Cuba’s Fidel Castro said: “This is bad news. Now everything is going to change.” Egyptian leader Gamel Abdel Nasser reportedly went into a great state of depression after JFK’s death. Nigeria declared a state of mourning.

Under the 1992 President John F. Kennedy Records Collection Act, the U.S. government was supposed to release all documents about the assassination in 2017.
President Donald Trump delayed the full release twice and President Biden has now done the same—releasing only some documents while keeping records secret that are expected to be the most interesting to researchers.
The Biden administration’s excuse is that the JFK Records Act permits postponement of disclosure of information if this is considered “necessary to protect against an identifiable harm to the military defense, intelligence operations, law enforcement or the conduct of foreign relations that is of such gravity that it outweighs the public interest in disclosure.”
But what harm could possibly derive from exposure of the truth behind the assassination of one of America’s most beloved leaders nearly 60 years ago?
Jefferson Morley, Vice President of the Mary Ferrell Foundation, which investigates the JFK assassination, referred to the new release as a “sham,” noting that Biden had authorized the release of only about 10% of redacted records on December 15.
“The government has never offered a credible explanation for the assassination,” Morley said. “People don’t believe what they’re hearing. And when they’re holding 90% of the documents that are required by law, they continue fifty years of deception and deceit.”[1]
The Rosetta Stone in JFK Assassination Research?
Morley is behind a lawsuit filed by the Mary Ferrell Foundation demanding the release of the CIA’s George Joannides file.[2]
Recruited into the CIA in 1952, Joannides came into contact with Lee Harvey Oswald while running a covert Cuba-related program less than four months before Kennedy was shot.[3]
As the CIA’s Miami-based chief of psychological warfare operations, Joannides, using his alias “Howard,” provided $51,000 per month to the Cuban Student Directorate, an anti-Castro organization that was part of a larger covert CIA program called AMSPELL.
Part of the aim of this program was to infiltrate and discredit the Fair Play for Cuba Committee (FPCC), a left-wing group that promoted a restoration of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba and acceptance of the Cuban revolution.[4]

Lee Harvey Oswald was the New Orleans chairman of the FPCC who was interviewed on television explaining the goals of the organization and featured in local newspapers after getting arrested during a fight while distributing handbills for the FPCC.
Jefferson Morley suggested in a presentation at the National Press Club on December 6 that the arrest was part of standard COINTELPRO [FBI Counterintelligence program] operating procedure in which an intelligence agent or provocateur infiltrated a subversive group, planted deceptive information or created negative publicity, including by provoking law enforcement to arrest a member of the group.
Senator Richard Schweiker (R-PA) had said during the 1975 Church Committee deliberations that “everywhere you look, with him [Oswald] there are the fingerprints of intelligence.”
Growing up in a fatherless household in New Orleans with a loveless mother and absent brother, Oswald had become fascinated with the TV series I Led 3 Lives, which was loosely based on the life of Herbert Philbrick, a Boston advertising executive who infiltrated the U.S. Communist Party on behalf of the FBI.[5]
In 1956, Oswald was tapped by David Ferrie, a CIA asset involved in anti-Castro operations leading up to the Bay of Pigs invasion, to join the Civil Air Patrol. In 1957, living out his boyhood fantasy, he was trained for future spy missions into the Soviet Union by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) under the direction of the CIA as a young enlistee in the Marine Corps.[6]
Fluent in Russian, Oswald subsequently worked at the Atsugi Naval Air Facility in Japan, the largest CIA installation in the world, which was used as a launching base for the U-2 reconnaissance flights over the Soviet Union. There Oswald possessed a Minox camera used by spies that was not yet available for sale in the U.S. in 1963.[7]

Oswald’s roommate in the Marine Corps, James Botelho, who became a California judge, said that Oswald was not a communist or Marxist[8]—that was a cover—but was anti-Soviet and was on assignment in Russia for American intelligence.
James Wilcott, a former CIA finance officer, testified before the House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1978 that he had handled the funding for a CIA project in which Oswald had been recruited as a CIA spy and that Oswald served the CIA as a double agent in the Soviet Union.[9]

In New Orleans, Oswald worked for the Reilly Coffee Company, which was located at the center of the intelligence community in the city and was owned by William B. Reilly, a supporter of the CIA-sponsored Cuban Revolutionary Council.
Researcher Bob Katz wrote that Oswald “moved in a world of right wingers and Cuban exiles [in New Orleans] that had been tied to the Agency since the Bay of Pigs.”[10]
According to Jefferson Morley, Oswald was involved in at least four CIA covert operations in Mexico, some just weeks before JFK was killed.[11]
Morley told the National Press club on December 6 that Oswald’s visibility with the FPCC and arrest “created a legend.” He was in turn the perfect patsy for the Kennedy assassination because the authorities were intent on blaming it on the communists.
Morley pointed out that after the Kennedy assassination, the FPCC disbanded in a major victory for the CIA. Executive branch authorities have been reluctant to release the documents from the Joannides file because they would shed light on a CIA operation involving Oswald which would expose CIA methods and illuminate the back story to Oswald’s being set up as a patsy.

The documents would also expose that former CIA Director Richard Helms lied to Congress when he claimed that the CIA had “probably limited knowledge of Oswald” and that the CIA had control over the media, which repeated the disinformation that Oswald was a communist.
Shell Game
In an exclusive interview with CAM on December 18, presidential historian and seasoned JFK assassination researcher Robert Morrow characterized the December 15 document release as a “shell game” in light of the failure to release hundreds of documents that would shed light on how Oswald was run by the CIA.
Morrow said that, in 14 years of research on the topic, he learned that the JFK assassination was the domestic equivalent of Operation Northwoods, a false-flag attack on Cuba based on deception, and that Lyndon B. Johnson was behind the killing.

Morrow said that “Oswald loved John F. Kennedy and was a pre-selected patsy.”
A key indication is that, “when they released an all-points bulletin after JFK was killed, the Dallas police described the suspect as a man [they didn’t use Oswald’s name] who was 5’10” 165 pounds—a description of Oswald given by his mother Marguerite in 1960 when she was inquiring about her son’s whereabouts when he was behind the Iron Curtain.”
In reality, Oswald was 5’9” and 145 pounds.
He could not have been the shooter because he was spotted on the 2nd floor of the Texas School Book Depository—far from the sniper’s nest on the 6th floor—calmly drinking a Coke less then two minutes after JFK’s assassination—which was too quick (the real shooter, in any case, likely came from the grassy knoll near where Kennedy’s motorcade was passing).[12]
Dallas police chief Jesse Curry admitted in a 1969 interview with the Dallas Morning News: “We don’t have any proof that Oswald fired the rifle, and never did. Nobody’s yet been able to put him in that building with a gun in his hand.”[13]

According to Morrow, U.S. intelligence had “manipulated the Dallas Police Department,” and from the outset “drove the investigation. Oswald’s own mother, Marguerite, had admitted to The New York Times in December 1963 that Oswald worked for the CIA, though she had to be discredited and smeared.”

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., weighed in on December 15, tweeting that “the CIA’s murder of my uncle was a successful coup d’état from which our democracy has never recovered.”
In the same tweet, Kennedy praised Fox News host Tucker Carlson for running what he called “the most courageous newscast in 60 years” in which he accused the CIA of murdering JFK.
Of further significance, Carlson noted that widespread use of the insulting phrase “conspiracy theory” only began in the aftermath of the JFK assassination, with the CIA successfully marginalizing its critics by promoting that accusation in the compliant media.[14]
Tucker’s father, Dick Carlson, was director of the Voice of America during the Cold War, along with at different points, the U.S. Information Agency (USIA) and Radio Marti, which broadcast CIA propaganda into Cuba.
According to Robert Morrow, Tucker subscribed to the official narrative about the Kennedy assassination for a long time but has shifted his view based on his conversation with an insider source (believed to be Donald Trump), and it is “remarkable that one of the nation’s most prominent political commentators went on TV saying the CIA killed JFK.”
Jefferson Morley has also been featured recently on CNN and MSNBC, and Jim DiEugenio, a collaborator with Oliver Stone, appeared on Fox.
This is a major crack in the traditional reporting and media consensus that Oswald was a lone assassin—finally after 60 years.

Blood testing confirms high levels of carcinogen PFAS in the blood of hundreds living close to U.S. bases. Japanese demand answers while Americans deny responsibility.

An Okinawan group of activists and physicians known as the Liaison to Protect the Lives of Citizens Against PFAS Contamination has taken the extraordinary step of collecting and analyzing blood samples from 387 residents of the tiny island who live near several U.S. military installations. The results confirm the worst fears of Okinawans regarding the military’s reckless use of PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) over the last 50 years.
Average blood levels for three PFAS compounds: PFOS, PFOA, and PFHxS, were about 25 nanograms per milliliter, (ng/mL), or parts per billion, for those tested from the cities of Ginowan, Kin Town, and Chatan.
Marine Corps Air Station Futenma is located in Ginowan. Kadena Air Base forms the northern boundary of Chatan, while Camp Hanson is located in Kin Town. All three bases have a record of environmental releases of the carcinogenic chemicals.

The highly influential American National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (National Academies) is warning Americans with much lower concentrations of the carcinogens in their blood to be screened for a host of serious illnesses. The U.S. military denies it is poisoning Japanese citizens and forbids the Japanese government from gaining access to military bases to verify the source of the deadly contamination.

This was the first extensive survey to try to gauge the impact of PFAS contamination on people living on the island. Okinawa comprises 0.6 percent of the Japan’s land but contains 70 percent of the land used for U.S. bases, and over half the 50,000-strong troop presence.
The Okinawan results take on added significance with the publication of Guidance on PFAS Exposure, Testing, and Clinical Follow-Up by the National Academies of the Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) in July of this year. The 159-year-old organization provides scientific advice to the United States government.
National Academies is advising clinicians to offer PFAS blood testing to patients likely to have a history of elevated exposure, like firefighters or patients who live or have lived in communities where PFAS contamination has been documented. This would include pretty much everyone in Okinawa.
NASEM says there is an increased risk of adverse health effects if the total of these seven compounds exceeds 2 ng/mL: PFOS, PFOA, PFHxS, PFNA, PFDA, PFUnDA, and MeFOSAA. The Okinawans only tested for three compounds. If they had tested for all seven compounds, the results would likely have been much higher.

For patients with a serum PFAS concentration of 2 ng/mL or higher and less than 20 ng/mL, clinicians should encourage PFAS exposure reduction if a source of exposure is identified, especially for pregnant women. Within the usual standard of care clinicians should:
Prioritize screening for dyslipidemia
Screen for hypertensive disorders of pregnancy at all prenatal visits
Screen for breast cancer
Dyslipidemia refers to unhealthy levels of one or more kinds of lipid (fat) in our blood. Our blood contains three main types of lipids: high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and triglycerides. If you have dyslipidemia, it usually means your LDL levels or your triglycerides are too high. It can also mean your HDL levels are too low.
LDL cholesterol is considered the “bad” type of cholesterol. That’s because it can build up and form clumps or plaques in the walls of your arteries. Too much plaque in the arteries of your heart can cause a heart attack. HDL is the “good” cholesterol because it helps remove LDL from your blood.
PFAS compounds are also known to cause hypertension, a clinical term for high blood pressure. Your blood pressure measurement takes into account how much blood is passing through your blood vessels and the amount of resistance the blood meets while the heart is pumping. Hypertension occurs when the force of blood pushing through your vessels is consistently too high. This condition can be extremely dangerous to pregnant women.
PFAS is linked to breast cancer in women and men. Physicians should know PFAS levels to take necessary precautionary steps to protect against breast cancer.
For patients with serum PFAS concentration of 20 ng/mL or higher, clinicians should perform the following tests during all routine visits:
Conduct thyroid function testing (for patients over age 18) with serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)
Assess for signs and symptoms of kidney cancer (for patients over 45), including with urinalysis, and
For patients over 15, assess for signs and symptoms of testicular cancer and ulcerative colitis.
The thyroid is part of the endocrine system, which is made up of glands that produce, store, and release hormones into the bloodstream. Many PFAS compounds are known to be endocrine disruptors, meaning they can disrupt the hormone system by increasing the production of some hormones, decreasing the production of others, which can result in serious health problems.
These harms include reproductive issues like changes to fertility, early puberty and risk of low birth weight, obesity, diabetes, immune system impacts, cardiovascular and respiratory problems, several types of cancer, and neurological and behavioral problems. The developing fetus, infants and children are especially vulnerable since their physiological systems are still developing.
PFAS are directly related to kidney cancer. Military and civilian firefighters who work with firefighting foams containing PFAS or wear turnout gear containing PFAS are exceptionally vulnerable. Others who work on American military installations may be exposed to extraordinarily high levels of the carcinogens while chrome plating engine parts or cleaning engine parts, two processes that involve the use of PFAS.

Ordinary folks in Okinawa who live off-base may be exposed by drinking poisoned water, eating contaminated food, breathing contaminated air, or coming into contact with carcinogenic dust in their homes. When the U.S. military releases the toxic chemicals into streams and rivers, the banks dry and the carcinogenic materials are lifted into the air to settle in people’s lungs and as dust in their homes.
The United States Army, Marines, Air Force, and Navy have all contributed to this preventable epidemic in Okinawa. They should be made to pay for blood testing and costly clinical interventions for all of the residents of the island.
The Liaison to Protect the Lives of Citizens Against PFAS Contamination has urged the central and prefectural governments to investigate the health impact among residents and to identify the source of the contamination.
Okinawan health activists have sought to gain on-site access to U.S. military facilities known to be the source of the contamination but their efforts have been in vain. Under the terms of the Japan-U.S. Status of Forces Agreement, consent must be given by the U.S. side, but none has been forthcoming.
Article 3, Section 1 of the U.S. – Japan Status of Forces Agreement, or SOFA, is blocking Okinawan authorities from entering U.S. bases. Japan was defeated by the imperial forces of the United States during World War II and continues to pay the price as a conquered nation.

Toshio Takahashi, a spokesman for the Okinawan group, told Military Poisons, “It has been shown that PFAS contamination causes cancer and can affect fetal development and cause disease in small children, so investigating the cause and cleaning up the contamination is essential in order to protect the lives of residents and fulfill our responsibility to future generations.”
Takahashi says he has heard that progress is being made in the U.S., where the military has investigated PFAS contamination and has assumed some degree of responsibility for the cleanup. “This is not the case of U.S. troops stationed here,” he argues. “Such double standards are discriminatory and disrespectful to the host countries and to the regions where U.S. troops are stationed, and cannot be tolerated,” he said.
Although the United States Forces Japan (USFJ) does not usually comment on charges of toxic contamination, USFJ issued the following statement in response to the blood testing:
“We are aware of the recent survey by a private organization regarding PFOS levels. We are committed to the well-being of those that live on and near our bases and will continue to coordinate with the Government of Japan to ensure we remain compliant with our international obligations and serve as good stewards of the environment. The U.S. Forces Japan engineer team regularly consults with their counterparts in the Government of Japan and will continue doing so.”
Putting Okinawa’s results into perspective
The following communities in the United States have attracted national attention for dangerous levels of PFAS found in the blood samples of residents exposed to the toxins. Their levels, generally, are much lower than those found in Okinawa.
In New Hampshire, the state conducted biomonitoring in Merrimack Village District in 2017, where a Saint-Gobain plant had contaminated local drinking water. The average PFOA serum levels among participants was 3.9 ng/mL (N = 217).
Also in New Hampshire, between April and October 2015, 1,578 members of the Pease Tradeport community had their blood tested for PFAS. The site was the location of Pease Air Force base where firefighting foams containing PFAS were carelessly used for many years. Results of biomonitoring from all individuals in the study showed a cumulative total of 15.8 ng/mL for PFOS, PFOA, and PFHxS.

Communities in Bucks and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania detected PFOS in their drinking water from use of firefighting foams during military activities. In response to this water contamination, the state health department conducted biomonitoring for PFOS exposure among 235 residents. The average PFOS serum level in this community was 10.2 ng/mL
The community around Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, NY also consumed contaminated drinking water. 1,917 residents had their blood sampled.
Median PFOS serum levels were reported at 16.3 ng/mL.

In 2020, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) estimated that women with blood levels for four compounds: PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, and PFNA that exceeded 6.9 ng/mL were at risk.
Now that the National Academies of Sciences has equated specific levels of PFAS in blood plasma to general risk levels, people like firefighters and those with known occupational exposure to these chemicals ought to be lining up to be tested.
Medical science has not figured out a way to rid these chemicals from our bodies. Certainly, individuals with high levels must treat their symptoms, but they must also join with others communally and globally to stop the exposure. They can install municipal and private water filters. They can stop using nonstick pans and they can rid their homes of consumer items that contain the chemicals. They must also collectively demand remediation, even if the perpetrator is proven to be the United States military or powerful corporations that provide jobs to thousands in the community.
I’ve been writing about the military’s wanton use of PFAS for nearly five years and I’ve come to realize that my research and writing—and the work of others doing the same are limited in their impact. Legislative and executive avenues for addressing criminal actions by government and corporate entities regarding the continued use of PFAS are constrained. The EPA is still not regulating these chemicals while most states look to the EPA for guidance. Meanwhile, judicial remedies offer great promise for administering justice.
Commercial labs typically charge about $600 for a PFAS blood test while many doctors and insurance companies have never heard of the toxins. The Downs Law Group in in Miami, Florida is offering free blood-serum testing to military and civilian firefighters and others with likely occupational exposure to the carcinogens. Downs will pay for individual blood tests without any kind of commitment. They can sue the manufacturers of these chemicals for damages after discovering elevated PFAS compounds in blood serum.

The United States nearly doubled the number and price tag of approved arms sales to NATO allies in 2022 compared with 2021, as alliance members scramble to stock up on high-end weapons in the wake of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
In 2021, the U.S. government approved 14 possible major arms sales to NATO allies worth around $15.5 billion. In 2022, that jumped up to 24 possible major arms sales worth around $28 billion, including $1.24 billion worth of arms sales to expected future NATO member Finland, according to a Foreign Policy analysis of two years of data from the U.S. Defense Department’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

Some of the approved U.S. arms sales in 2022 were years in the making, such as Germany’s plan to purchase F-35 fighter jets in a deal worth around $8.4 billion. But many other major arms sales were rushed after the war broke out in Ukraine, as European countries on NATO’s eastern flank dashed to bulk up their own military capabilities in an effort to backfill the equipment they shipped to Ukraine….
In early December, for example, the State Department cleared a possible sale of 116 M1 Abrams battle tanks to Poland, after an initial proposed plan to sell Poland 250 of such battle tanks was announced in April. The three Baltic countries on NATO’s…eastern flank – Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia – all pursued plans to procure the types of U.S. long-range rocket and missile systems that helped Ukraine turn the tide of the war against Russia in recent months. The State Department approved a plan to sell up to six HIMARS rocket launchers to Estonia in July under its foreign military sales program, in a deal worth around $500 million. It approved a similar sale to Lithuania in November. A U.S. deal to sell HIMARS to Latvia is expected to be announced in early 2023, according to several U.S. and European officials familiar with the matter.

In 2014, just four NATO allies – the United States, United Kingdom, Estonia, and Greece – met the alliance’s benchmark of spending 2 percent of GDP on defense. By 2022, 10 of NATO’s 30 members are slated to spend at least 2 percent of GDP on defense. Some countries are going even further: Estonia pledged to boost its annual defense budget by 42 percent in 2023 and committed to spending 3 percent of its GDP on defense.
Finland and Sweden, which declared their intent to join NATO this year…have also announced plans to increase their defense spending. Finland already spends around 2 percent of GDP on defense, while the Swedish government has unveiled plans to increase defense spending to 2 percent of GDP by 2023. The two Nordic countries’ accession to NATO has been delayed by Turkey, but U.S. and NATO defense officials say they expect Turkey to approve their membership by next year.

The Italian newspaper Repubblica posted on its website on Monday a video depicting fierce fighting in Artyomovsk, which it calls Bakhmut in Ukrainian terms. The footage shows soldiers in uniform and wearing blue armbands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine firing, but desperate cries in English and Italian are heard, which are drowned out by the crackle of automatic bursts. According to the publication, this video was provided by a «US volunteer» who takes part in the battle for Bakhmut.
“A video posted online by an American volunteer fighting Ukrainians,” writes Repubblica, “shows fighting on the outskirts of Bakhmut, the city of Donbass, in the center of a bloody battle. This man appears to be in command of a group of «internationalists» and demonstrates experience in close combat: he may be an Iraqi veteran. The footage shows that there is no front line, and every building can turn into a trap,” the newspaper notes, without commenting on what is happening, but indicating that the siege of the city continues.
Foreign mercenaries who arrived in Ukraine admit in a conversation with an American NBC correspondent that they went to hell. The militants, he writes, are suffering serious losses. There are fewer and fewer of them who want to fight against Russia.

“During the monitoring of radio frequencies… the presence of foreign citizens was revealed. Most of the recorded conversations were in English with various dialects. There is also German, French, Italian and Polish speech,” said Marochko. According to him, representatives of more than 30 countries were identified in this way.
On December 26, the Ukrainian edition of Hromadske published a report about one of the groups of foreign mercenaries, the Mozart PMC. “We are all professional soldiers,” an Irishman named Dayton, a member of the company, admitted to the journalist. Earlier in November, a video appeared where the head of Mozart, US Marine Andy Milburn, handed out his stripes to armed people, including members of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And back in August, Milburn, in an interview with the French newspaper Monde, said that his company was training the Ukrainian military. The latter are taught tactics, as well as how to properly use weapons. At the same time, Milburn emphasized that his instructors «are doing the work that Washington is not able to do.»
The fact that «volunteers» from the United States and other countries are fighting in Ukraine on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as mercenaries has long been known. However, until recently, the Western media in every possible way extolled the «courage of Ukrainian soldiers», diligently soaking the topic of wide participation directly in the battles of mercenaries, who have already become the main striking force on the most difficult sectors of the front. This is confirmed by the loss reports of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Mutation der Grünen / Bündnis 90 von einer Friedenskraft hin zur Kriegspartei

Die ehemalige Parteiikone der Grünen, Pfarrerin und Pädagogin, Antje Vollmer, gehörte 1983 der ersten Bündnis 90-Bundestagsfraktion an und war von 1994 bis 2005 Vizepräsidentin des Deutschen Bundestages. Als Publizistin gab sie Mitte November 2022 Harald Neuber, dem Chefredakteur des Online-Magazins Telepolis, das zu den Heise-Medien gehört, ein Interview über die Glaubwürdigkeit der Grünen als Friedenskraft. Am Parteitag der Grünen / Bündnis 90 Mitte Oktober 2022 im Saal “New York” des World Conference Center Bonn, scheute sich die deutsche Außenministerin Annalena Baerbock nicht, die Parole zu wiederholen:
„ … Wir liefern Waffen, weil wir eine Friedens- und Menschenrechtspartei sind“1).
Für diese mehr als erstaunliche Logik erhielt sie tosenden Beifall von den Delegierten. Mit überwältigender Mehrheit sprach sich dann der Parteitag für die Lieferung weiterer Waffen an die Ukraine aus. Anträge dagegen waren chancenlos. So stellte Neuber eine zentrale Passage aus der grünen Grundsatzschrift “Wir stehen ein für Frieden und Menschenrechte” an den Anfang des Interviews mit Antje Vollmer: “Unsere Politik zielt ab auf die Verhinderung gewaltsamer Konflikte, die Beseitigung von Gewalt- und Fluchtursachen sowie auf eine aktive zivile Krisenprävention und Konfliktlösung.”2) Für Frau Vollmer haben die Grünen heute ihren historischen Platz preisgegeben und neigen dazu „…sich voreilig auf die Seite der vermuteten Sieger der Geschichte zu stellen“3). Weiter sieht sie in den Beteuerungen, eine Friedenspartei zu sein, erst einmal nur Behauptungen, welche auf „die Zeit danach” (also die Zeit nach dem Ukraine-Krieg und somit nach dem Sieg im Systemkonflikt) verschoben werden“4). Vollmer vermisst eine inhaltliche Debatte über die jetzt brennende Frage: „Wie kommen wir denn zum Frieden hin? Für mich hat der Krieg in den Köpfen spätestens 2008 und erst recht 2014 begonnen.“5) Erklärtes Ziel der NATO sei es von jeher (nämlich schon seit 1949, dem Gründungs-jahr der NATO) gewesen, Russland von Europa auszuschließen 6). „Es ging demnach darum“, so Vollmer in aller Offenheit,
„die USA dauerhaft als Führungsmacht in Europa zu verankern, Deutschland dauerhaft einzuhegen und zu kontrollieren sowie Russland dauerhaft draußen zu halten. Aber die Entspannungspolitik, die Öko- und Friedensbewegung und Gorbatschow haben darauf reagiert, indem sie gesagt haben: Unsere Vision ist ein anderes Europa. Es wird keinen dauerhaften Frieden in Europa geben, wenn man Russland ausschließt.“7)
Trotz dieser klaren Erkenntnis grübelt Vollmer über keine Entwicklung mehr nach als über „das umfassende Kippen des Bewusstseins, das die alte Bundesrepublik bis in die 1990er-Jahre geprägt hat und das von Entspannungspolitik und Gerechtigkeitsfragen doch sehr durchdrungen war.“ Hatte Frau Vollmer 1990 (als Berufspolitikerin) etwa gar nicht mitbekommen, wie US-Präsident G.H. Bush am 11. September 1990 den Kalten Krieg mit dem Niedergang der Sowjetunion für beendet erklärte und seine Vision einer “New World Order” vorstellte, mit der er die Welt in eine Zukunft in Frieden, Sicherheit und Wohlstand führen wollte?8) Vorher sollte die Welt von Kriegen geschüttelt werden. Bereits ab dem 16. Januar 1991 führten die USA im 1. Golfkrieg (2. Irakkrieg) eine „Koalition der Willigen“ an, die damals noch durch die Resolution 678 des UN-Sicherheitsrates gedeckt war, die allerdings auf der sogenannten “Brutkastenlüge” beruhte. Dann folgten die Auslandseinsätze der Deutschen Bundeswehr, die erst 1994 vom Bundesverfassungsgericht unter dem “Parlamentsvorbehalt” standen. Das hätte Frau Vollmer als Bundestagsvizepräsidentin eigentlich nicht entgehen dürfen! Der “Krieg in den Köpfen” begann also schon im Jahr 1991, unmittelbar nach dem Zerfall der UdSSR. Es folgte die Zerstückelung Jugoslawiens, die im sogenannten Kosovokrieg ihren vorläufigen Höhepunkt fand. Seit der “Wende” bröckelte der grüne Konsens in Sachen Frieden. Als sich das “Bündnis 90/Die Grünen” schließlich vom Pazifismus verabschiedete, suchten viele friedensbewegte Grüne eine neue Heimat. Als die grüne Fraktion 1995 dem Bundeswehreinsatz in Bosnien zustimmte, marschierten die friedensbewegten Aktivisten mit einem Transparent, auf dem zu lesen war: „Macht Politik, nicht Krieg!“ in den Bundestag ein. Daraufhin forderte Antje Vollmer als Vizepräsidentin den Saalschutz auf, den unliebsamen Spruch zu entfernen – was dieser auch tat. Die Friedensbewegten erhielten eine Strafanzeige und mussten zahlen.
In den 1990er Jahren zerfiel Jugoslawien in gewalttätigen Auseinandersetzungen in fünf selbständige Staaten und ab 1997 kämpften im Kosovo bewaffnete Gruppen, die vom Westen unterstützt wurden, für die Unabhängigkeit von Serbien. Viel Geld wurde von in Deutschland lebenden Kosovo-Albanern aufgetrieben und Kämpfer mit Bussen durch Deutschland in das Kriegsgebiet gefahren, ohne dass deutsche Behörden einschritten. Erstmals seit dem 2. Weltkrieg beteiligten sich im Jahr 1999 wieder deutsche Soldaten an einem Waffengang. Es sollte eine Zäsur für Deutschland und eine Zerreißprobe für die Rot-Grüne Regierungskoalition werden. Frau Vollmer widmete diesem Vorgang Ende März 2009 den Artikel “MORALISCHE NÖTIGUNG”.
Die Bundestagswahl vom 27. September 1998 endete mit einer rot-grünen Mehrheit. Da die neue Regierung noch nicht vereidigt war, trat am 16. Oktober 1998 der Bundestag noch in den alten Mehrheitsverhältnissen zusammen. Thema: die Teilnahme der Bundeswehr an einem eventuellen Luftkrieg gegen die Republik Jugoslawien zur Abwendung einer “humanitären Katastrophe”. Ein Mandat des UNO-Sicherheitsrats lag nicht vor. Frau Vollmer schreibt, dass kurz zuvor Bundeskanzler Gerhard Schröder und der designierte Außenminister Joschka Fischer zu einem Blitzbesuch in die USA geflogen waren,
„um die Haltung der neuen deutschen Regierung im Fall eines Kosovo-Krieges darzulegen. Bei der Hinfahrt waren sie fest entschlossen, die traditionelle Haltung ihrer Heimat einzunehmen, nämlich dass die Deutschen an einem solchen Krieg aufgrund ihrer Verfassungslage nicht teilnehmen. Als sie aus den USA zurückkehrten, ließen sie verlauten, das sei von der Clinton-Regierung akzeptiert worden. Bis heute ist nicht klar, was in der Woche darauf geschah.“9)
Wie konnten der damaligen Bundestag-Vizepräsidentin Vollmer die entscheidenden Ereignisse und der plötzliche Sinneswandel der deutschen Regierung entgangen sein? Am 9. Oktober 1998 machten Gerhard Schröder und Joschka Fischer ihren Antrittsbesuch bei US-Präsident Clinton, der eine deutsche Unterstützung für einen NATO-Einsatz gegen Slobodan Milošević verlangte.10) Das deutsche Politiker-Duo bat um Bedenkzeit, Clinton zeigte Verständnis. Doch nur drei Tage später (12. Oktober 1998) forderte Washington auf Drängen von US-Außenministerin Madeleine Albright eine sofortige Entscheidung:
„Nur 15 Minuten blieben uns“, wird Joschka Fischer zitiert, „um über Krieg und Frieden zu entscheiden“.11)
Der Pazifist Fischer knickte ein.12) Hatte er sich mit den vorausgegangenen Resolutionen des UNO-Sicherheitsrats zum Thema Kosovo (Resolution 1160 vom 31. März 1998 und Resolution 1199 vom 23. September 1998) etwa gar nicht beschäftigt? Am 24. September 1998 aktivierte der NATO-Rat seine ersten Vorbereitungen für den Luftkrieg. Diese Entscheidung basierte definitiv auf keinem Mandat des UNO-Sicherheitsrats.
Unter dem Druck eines angeblich drohenden Angriffs stimmte der NATO-Rat am frühen Morgen des 13. Oktober 1998 dem Befehl zur „Aktivierung seiner Streitkräfte” zu.13) Das Auswärtige Amt Deutschlands (unter Außenminister Joschka Fischer) hielt in einem Bericht vom 18. November 1998 über die asyl- und abschiebungsrelevante Lage in der Bundesrepublik Jugoslawien abschließend fest: „Mittlerweile ist ein Teil der Bewohner wieder in einige der betroffenen Ortschaften zurückgekehrt. Nach Rückzug der Sicherheitskräfte ist der Rückkehr-prozess offenbar in größerem Rahmen in Gang gekommen. Der Konflikt wirkt sich nicht auf den gesamten Kosovo aus. So verläuft das öffentliche Leben in Städten wie Pristina, Gnijlan und Urosovic in relativ normalen Bahnen.“14) Weiter betonte das Auswärtige Amt in diesem Bericht:
„Eine explizit an die albanische Volkszugehörigkeit anknüpfende politische Verfolgung ist auch im Kosovo nicht festzustellen.“15)
In ihrem Artikel von 2009 schreibt Frau Vollmer über die vom 6. bis zum 23. Februar 1999 andauernde Konferenz im französischen Rambouillet:
„ … erstmals wurde von kosovarischer Seite auch die im Westen als Terrororganisation eingeschätzte UÇK als Verhandlungspartner einbezogen… Die kosovarischen Vertreter unterschrieben auf Druck von US-Außenministerin Madeleine Albright die Erklärung von Rambouillet. Die Vermittlungsversuche der Russen wurden sowohl von Milosevic als auch von den westlichen Staaten zurückgewiesen. Am 24. März 1999 flogen die ersten Bomber Richtung Belgrad und ein Krieg begann, der kein völkerrechtliches Mandat hatte.“16)
Auch diese Darstellung weist Ungereimtheiten auf. Nach einer mehrtägigen Unterbrechung der Konferenz wurde am 18. März 1999 von der kosovo-albanischen Delegation der von der Balkan-Kontaktgruppe in Rambouillet ausgearbeitete Vertragsentwurf unterschrieben. Die Serben waren bereit, am Verhandlungstisch einer Autonomie des Kosovo zuzustimmen. Den verschwiegenen militärischen Teil des Abkommens (der sogenannte Annex B), nämlich die Stationierung von NATO-Truppen zur Durchsetzung des Abkommens, lehnten die Serben ab und forderten ein gesondertes UN-Mandat für den Kosovo. So verweigerten die Serben ihre Unterschrift zu einem Vertrag, „an den die Balkan-Kontaktgruppe” einen nicht verhandelbaren Anhang geknüpft hatte. Im Anhang Teil B / Artikel 8 heißt es unmissverständlich:
„Das NATO-Personal soll sich mitsamt Fahrzeugen, Schiffen, Flugzeugen und Ausrüstung innerhalb der gesamten Bundesrepublik Jugoslawien inklusive ihres Luftraums und ihrer Territorialgewässer frei und ungehindert sowie ohne Zugangsbeschränkungen bewegen können.“
Obendrein sollte die NATO bei allen zivil-, verwaltungs- oder strafrechtlichen Verfahren volle Immunität genießen. Der Inhalt des Anhanges B wurde von Außenminister Fischer unterschlagen und Lafontaine erfuhr davon erst später aus der Presse.17) Ebenso wie die verteidigungspolitische Sprecherin der Grünen, Angelika Beer, die dann später äußerte:
„Hätte ich das gewusst, hätte ich dem Kriegseinsatz nicht zugestimmt.“ Zu Recht urteilte der damalige Journalist Rudolf Augstein: „Die USA hatten in Rambouillet militärische Bedingungen gestellt, die kein Serbe mit Schulbildung hätte unterschreiben können.“18)
Schade, dass sich Frau Vollmer damals der Erkenntnis ihrer Parteikollegin Angelika Beer (sie war von 1987 bis 1990 und von 1994 bis 2002 Mitglied des Deutschen Bundestages und von 2004 bis 2009 Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments) nicht anschließen konnte. 2009 wechselt Frau Beer zur Piratenpartei. Als am 24. März 1999 die NATO-Bomber ihre Ziele in Rest-Jugoslawien (Serbien und Montenegro) anflogen, ließ Bundeskanzler Gerhard Schröder die überraschte Bevölkerung in einer Fernsehansprache wissen:
„Wir führen keinen Krieg, aber wir sind aufgerufen, eine friedliche Lösung im Kosovo auch mit militärischen Mitteln durchzusetzen.“19)
Wir bombardieren, aber wir führen keinen Krieg. Wie konnte dieser Unsinn von den Medien verbreitet werden? Eingesetzt wurden “Grafitbomben” (zur Zerstörung der Umspannwerke), “Lenkwaffen”, “Tarnkappenflugzeuge”, “Uranmunition”, “Streubomben”. Ein derartiges Waffenarsenal zur „friedlichen“ Lösung der Kosovo-Frage einzusetzen, ist an Perfidie nicht zu übertreffen. Die Angriffe auf zivile Ziele, Elektrizitätswerke, Brücken, zivile Züge, den Bauernmarkt in Niš, die neurologische Klinik oder die chinesische Botschaft in Belgrad u.v.a. wurden als „Kollateralschäden“ abgetan. Relativ ungeschoren kam das serbische Militär weg. Bei diesem Angriffskrieg der NATO (ein UN-Mandat lag nicht vor) verstießen die teilnehmenden 19 westlichen Nationen in ihrer Eigenschaft als UN-Mitgliedsstaaten eindeutig gegen geltendes Völkerrecht, insbesondere gegen das Verbot der Gewaltandrohung und Gewaltanwendung, die gegen die territoriale Unverletzlichkeit oder politische Unabhängigkeit irgendeines Staates gerichtet ist (Artikel 2 Nr. 4 der UN-Charta und ebenso Artikel 1 des NATO-Vertrages);
Die in der NATO zusammengeschlossenen Staaten haben in Form von Einsätzen der Luftstreitkräfte 37.465 Angriffe auf das Territorium der Bundesrepublik Jugoslawien geführt. In deren Verlauf sind ca. 20.000 Tonnen Bomben und Raketen, teilweise mit einer Vielzahl von Sprengelementen, auf das Staatsgebiet des Gegners abgeworfen worden. Es wurden zwischen 500 und 2000 Zivilpersonen getötet. Genauere Zahlen liegen nicht vor. Zahllose Angriffe erfolgten auf Ziele, die primär der Versorgung der Zivilbevölkerung dienten. Dazu zählten Institutionen der Infrastruktur des Landes, die die Grundsicherung des täglichen Bedarfs der Bevölkerung abdeckten, etwa Trinkwasseranlagen, Elektrizität- und Heizkraftwerke. Selbst Krankenhäuser und Pflegeeinrichtungen wie Altenheime blieben nicht vor den Angriffen verschont. Schulen, Bahnhöfe, , Gefängnisse, Flüchtlingslager, Marktplätze, Wohnhäuser, Brücken, Kirchen, Fernsehtürme, Kulturstätten und -denkmäler etc. wurden beschossen. Auch das Gebäude der chinesischen Botschaft wurde zerstört. Durch die zielgerichtete Vernichtung wichtiger Industrieanlagen, Raffinerien, Autowerke (etwa in Kragujevac), Chemiewerke (etwa in Novi Sad oder Pancevo) – um nur einige Beispiele zu nennen – wurden die Lebensgrundlagen eines ganzen Volkes zerstört und nachhaltige Umwelt-schäden angerichtet.“20)
Auf dem Weg der Grünen zur “neokonservativen” Kriegspartei thematisierte Frau Vollmer den Einfluss von politischen Stiftungen und Denkfabriken („Think-Tanks“ genannt). Herr Neuber verwies im zweiten Interview auch auf die ehemaligen grünen Mitstreiter Ralf Fücks und Marieluise Beck, die 2017 einen Think-Tank mit dem Namen “Zentrum Liberale Moderne” gründeten. Nach Auskunft der Bundesregierung seien zwischen 2018 und 2021 rund 4,5 Millionen Euro an diese Organisation geflossen. Frau Vollmer sieht in dieser „Non-Governmental Organisation“ (NGO) ein Muster-Beispiel für einen „hybriden“ politischen Think-Tank.
Zwei ehemalige grüne Spitzenpolitiker nutzen sämtliche Netzwerke der Institutionen, in denen sie lange tätig waren, und gründen dann mit Steuergeld einen antirussischen Think-Tank, der durch keine echte Praxis im Land ausgewiesen ist.21) Frau Vollmer vermutet dahinter die zentrale Denkfabrik für eine schwarz-grüne Regierungsoption. Bei dieser NGO seien weder Regierungsferne noch Basisverankerung gewährleistet. Sie sieht im “Zentrum Liberale Moderne” ein Instrument für „ideologischen Lobbyismus“, bei dem die prominenten Vertreter teilweise über Jahrzehnte auf ihren Posten sitzen und in Netzwerken wirken.
Der zweite Teil des Interviews trug die Überschrift “Jetzt hilft nur noch die Weisheit des westfälischen Friedens”. Ist das wirklich so? Der sogenannte Westfälische Frieden von 1648 gehört sicherlich zu den bedeutendsten historischen Meilensteinen. Für die deutschen Lande und damit für das “Heilige Römische Reich Deutscher Nation” besiegelte dieser Friedensschluss von Münster und Osnabrück das Ende des schrecklichen Dreißigjährigen Krieges, den nur 60% der deutschen Bevölkerung überlebten. Das Land war weitgehend verheert und verwüstet.22) Als Voraussetzung für den Frieden mussten zunächst vor allem die ausländischen Mächte, d. h. Frankreich und Schweden, territorial entschädigt werden. Frankreich erhielt nun auch formell die drei lothringischen Bistümer Metz, Toul und Verdun, die es faktisch schon seit längerem beherrschte. Hinzu kamen die elsässischen Besitztümer des Hauses Habsburg, ferner die auf dem rechten Rheinufer gelegene Festung Breisach sowie das Besatzungsrecht in dem ebenfalls rechtsrheinischen Philippsburg. Schweden sicherte sich Vorpommern mit Stettin und der rechten Odermündung sowie Rügen, das mecklenburgische Wismar und die beiden Bistümer Bremen und Verden. Damit kontrollierte es Mündungen von Oder, Elbe und Weser; die wichtigsten deutschen Ostseehäfen standen ebenfalls unter schwedischer Kontrolle. Während die Gebiete, die Frankreich zufielen, formal aus dem Reichsverband ausschieden, blieben die von Schweden in Besitz genommenen Territorien weiterhin Bestandteil des Reiches; Schweden wurde somit Reichsstand und war mit Sitz und Stimme im Reichstag vertreten. Neben den Gebietsverlusten musste das Reich auch für den Abzug der schwedischen Truppen 5 Millionen Reichstaler zahlen.23)
Die restriktiven Bestimmungen des „Westfälischen Friedens“ bedeuteten auch für die katholische Kirche große Besitzverluste. Dieser Umstand veranlasste Papst Innozenz X. (1644 – 1655), gegen diesen Friedensschluss formell Protest einzulegen. Ausgerechnet unter dem Standbild dieses Papstes, der den Westfälischen Friede 1648 nicht anerkannte, unterzeichneten am 25. März 1957 Frankreich, Deutschland, Italien, Belgien, Niederlande und Luxemburg in der Sala degli Orazi e Curiazi unter der segnenden Hand der Monumentalskulptur von Papst Innozenz X. (1644 – 1655) die Römischen Verträge. Diese Dokumente gelten als “Geburtsurkunde” der Europäischen Union. Papst Innozenz hatte 1648 den Dreißigjährigen Krieg fortsetzen wollen und sich bis zuletzt gegen den Westfälischen Frieden gewehrt. Walter Hallstein, von 1951 bis 1958 Staatssekretär im Auswärtigen Amt und anschließend bis 1967 der erste Vorsitzende der Kommission der Europäischen Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft, war flexibel und setzte seine Nachkriegsplanungen unter anderen Vorzeichen fort. So steht auf seiner Medaille: Karlspreis der Stadt Aachen 1961, Professor Walter Hallstein, “Neues Europa freiwilliger Bindung”. An was gebunden? Erfüllungsgehilfe US-amerikanischer Geo-Politik? Heute wird v.a. von deutschen Politikgrößen bei allen Gelegenheiten der Begriff “wertebasierte Ordnung” gebraucht. Diese wertebasierte Ordnung wird von den USA vorgeben. Alleinige Richtschnur sollten aber nur die für alle geltenden Gesetze sein.
Um künftig einen dauerhaften Weltfrieden zu ermöglichen, ist es unerlässlich, die wahren Ursachen für die aktuellen Fehlentwicklungen zu benennen und schonungslos aufzudecken. Auch der Balkan-Krieg 1999 nützte primär den USA auf deren Weg zur selbstdefinierten „unipolaren“ Welt. Leider ist in Deutschland der Kriegseinsatz der deutschen Luftwaffe gegen die Bundesrepublik Jugoslawien im Großen und Ganzen untergegangen. Jeffrey Sachs, US-Ökonom und bis 2016 Direktor des Earth Institute an der Columbia Universität, findet es erstaunlich, dass dieser Umstand keine größere gesellschaftliche Debatte ausgelöst hat.24) So ist es bedauerlich, dass Herr Neuber als Interviewpartner von Frau Vollmer nicht tiefer gegraben hat. Rücksichtnahme oder fehlendes Wissen?
Jeffrey Sachs hat in seinem beachtenswerten Leitfaden für Vermittler zum Frieden in der Ukraine den Hauptpunkt für die Mediation herausgearbeitet:
„… Alle Parteien haben berechtigte Interessen und berechtigte Klagen gegeneinander. Russland ist gewaltsam in die Ukraine eingedrungen. Die USA hatten 2014 beim Sturz von Janukowitsch mitgewirkt, dann die Ukraine schwer bewaffnet und am Ziel der NATO-Erweiterung festgehalten, mit der Russland im Schwarzen Meer weiter eingekreist wäre.“25)
Die auf Janukowitsch folgenden ukrainischen Präsidenten Petro Poroschenko und Wolodymyr Selenskyj weigerten sich, das Abkommen von Minsk II umzusetzen.
Nach Jeffrey Sachs wird dauerhafter Frieden erst dann möglich sein, wenn:
Die USA nicht länger am Ziel einer NATO-Erweiterung in Richtung Russlands Grenzen festhalten;
Russland seine Streitkräfte aus der Ukraine abzieht und die einseitige Annexion ukrainischen Territoriums rückgängig macht;
Die Ukraine Abstand nimmt von ihren Versuchen, die Krim zurückzuerobern sowie ihre Ablehnung des Minsk-II-Rahmens zurücknimmt und
Alle Parteien zustimmen, die souveränen Grenzen der Ukraine gemäß der UN-Charta zu akzeptieren und durch die Garantien des UN-Sicherheitsrats und anderer Nationen abzusichern.
Für Jeffrey Sachs ist der Ukraine-Krieg ein extrem gefährliches Pulverfass, weil bereits NATO-Staaten in diesem Konflikt involviert sind, sich zwischenzeitlich somit schon nukleare Super-mächte ein erbittertes Kräftemessen liefern und das in einer Welt, die nichts dringender braucht als Frieden und Zusammenarbeit. Es ist an der Zeit, dass die Giganten USA und Russland, endlich Größe zeigen, insbesondere durch gegenseitigen Respekt, durch Diplomatie mit Weitblick und durch gemeinsame Anstrengungen, um einen nachhaltigen Frieden für alle zu erreichen – v.a. auch für die Menschen in der Ukraine, die diesen für den Wiederaufbau des Landes und die Versöhnung mit Russland am dringendsten brauchen.
Leider fehlt bei Jeffrey Sachs der Hinweis auf das im Völkerrecht verankerte Selbstbestimmungsrecht und ein weiterer entscheidender Punkt: Die USA müssen endlich aufhören, nach der „unipolaren Welt-macht“ zu streben. Putin und der Großteil des globalen Südens wollen stattdessen eine multipolare Welt, in der sie von den USA als „Partner auf Augenhöhe“ akzeptiert werden.
In seiner Weihnachtsansprache betonte der deutsche Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier, dass ein rasches Ende des russischen Angriffskrieges in der Ukraine nicht in Sicht ist. Zwar sei es der sehnlichste Wunsch, dass wieder Friede herrsche, aber „ … dieser Friede ist noch nicht greifbar. Es muss ein gerechter Friede sein, der weder den Landraub belohnt noch die Menschen in der Ukraine der Willkür und Gewalt ihrer Besatzer überlässt.“26) Bis Friede einkehren könne, sei es ein Gebot der Menschlichkeit, den Angegriffenen, den Bedrohten und Bedrückten beizustehen. „Auch damit setzen wir im Dunkel des Unrechts ein Licht der Hoffnung.“
Den völkerrechtswidrigen Bombenkrieg gegen Rest-Jugoslawien negiert Bundespräsident Steinmeier leider, obwohl er damals schon in exponierter Stellung im Kanzleramt tätig war. Damals gehörte er nämlich schon zu jenen, die den völkerrechtswidrigen Angriffskrieg unterstützt haben. Da gab es kein Mitgefühl mit den Angegriffenen, den Bedrohten und den Bedrückten.
Ganz anders hingegen reagierte Oskar Lafontaine, der ehemalige Parteikollege von Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Er veröffentlichte gerade seine Streitschrift “Ami it’s time to go!”. Darin erklärt er, warum Deutschland und Europa sich von der Weltmacht USA lösen sollen, dass es darum gehen muss, das Blutvergießen in der Ukraine zu beenden, und warum ein „faschistoides Denken“ auch bei Vertretern der Bundesregierung eingezogen ist. Er vertritt die Kernthese, dass eine Supermacht, die die einzige Weltmacht bleiben will und deshalb hybride Kriege mit erbitterten Feldzügen führt, niemals ein (nach westlichen Werten ausgerichtetes) NATO-Verteidigungsbündnis dominieren darf.
Deshalb auch meine Überzeugung: wir brauchen eine NATO ohne die USA sowie eine selbständige europäische Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik der EU mit einer effektiven Verteidigungskapazität. Wohin uns die Geopolitik der USA führt, sieht man im Ukraine-Krieg, der in Wirklichkeit eine Auseinandersetzung zwischen den USA und Russland ist. Alle Menschen, die noch nicht völlig von falschen Erzählungen vergiftet und in die Irre geführt worden sind, wissen das auch. Zentrale Frage für Lafontaine ist: wie kann das Denken überwunden werden, das sich in Sätzen manifestiert wie:
“Wir müssen immer wieder Waffen liefern, weil Waffen Leben retten!” oder “Wir müssen Russland ruinieren!”.
Die Antwort von Oscar Lafontaine lautet:
„Das kann nur durch Humanismus, wenn man diesen Begriff nehmen will, überwunden werden. Er hat zur Grundlage, in dem Mitmenschen die Schwester oder den Bruder zu sehen. Kultureller Austausch beispielsweise kann die Menschen zusammenführen und kann die Liebe zur Kultur des jeweils anderen wecken. Deshalb ist es so fatal, dass mittlerweile auch russische Künstler ausgeladen werden. Das ist ein Schritt zur Barbarei“.27)
Die Aussagen von Lafontaine zur NATO sind leicht zu verifizieren: Am 4. April 1949 wurde die NATO offiziell als Verteidigungsbündnis gegen die Sowjetunion gegründet. Der erste Generalsekretär der NATO, Lord Ismay (Chefplaner des Kriegsplans “Unthinkable“ 28)) formulierte salopp die Aufgabe der NATO so:
„Die Russen sind draußen zu halten, die Amerikaner drinnen und die Deutschen unten“29).
Im Bündnisvertrag wurde festgehalten, dass wirtschaftlicher Wiederaufbau und wirtschaftliche Stabilität wichtige Elemente der Sicherheit seien – daher auch der Marshallplan.
Am 19. Dezember 1949 verabschiedeten die USA den Kriegsplan “Dropshot“, mit dem 1957 die Sowjetunion angegriffen werden sollte. In der “Grundannahme“ heißt es wörtlich: „Am oder um den 1. Januar 1957 ist den Vereinigten Staaten durch einen Aggressionsakt der UdSSR und/oder ihrer Satelliten ein Krieg aufgezwungen worden.“ Daraufhin sollten 300 Atombomben und 29.000 hochexplosive Bomben auf 200 Ziele in 100 Städten abgeworfen werden, um 85 % der industriellen Kapazität der Sowjetunion mit einem einzigen Schlag zu vernichten. Der Zeitpunkt war zweifellos auf den ursprünglich geplanten Abschlusstermin der Remilitarisierung Westdeutschlands abgestimmt. Als dann jedoch 1957 der fiepsende Sputnik seine Kreise um die Erde zog, mussten die Kriegsplanungen überarbeitet werden, und der Zeitpunkt für Dropshot wurde vertagt. In Moskau aber ist der Plan unvergessen.
Mit der “National Security Decision Directive 54” (NSDD-54) vom 2. September 1982 wurde ein Instrument geschaffen, mit dem der gesamte Sowjetblock subversiv untergraben werden konnte. Ein Staat nach dem anderen wurde mit dem Versprechen amerikanischer Unterstützung zur Ablösung von der Sowjetunion veranlasst. Neben destruktiven Operationen (“Unterminierung der Militärkapazitäten des Warschauer Paktes“) wurden ökonomische Anreize geschaffen, vor allem die Aussicht auf Kredite und auf kulturell-wissenschaftlichen Austausch.30)
Als Weiterentwicklung und Ergänzung dienen die Langzeitstrategiepapiere TRADOC 525-5 von 1994 und 525-3-1 (“Win in a Complex World 2020-2040“) von 2014. Gezielt wurden Russland und China als bedrohliche Feinde aufgebaut, um die militärische Schutzmacht USA durch die NATO und durch verschiedene asiatische Verteidigungsbündnisse zu etablieren.31) Schon 1945 orakelte der US-Philosoph James Burnham, die USA seien dazu berufen, „in der Auseinandersetzung mit den anderen Supermächten die Weltmacht zu erringen“.32)
Wie wird es weitergehen? Vermutlich mit weiteren Provokationen und Anschlägen, die Russland angelastet werden. Im Bereich möglicher Sanktionen gegen Russland hat Washington sicherlich noch einige Überraschungen zu bieten. Willy Wimmer überschrieb seinen Artikel vom 13. Januar 2022 mit der Frage „Krieg zum Beginn der Olympiade am 4. Februar 2022?“ und erinnert darin den Leser an den Beginn der olympischen Sommerspiele in Beijing, als pünktlich zum Entzünden der olympischen Flamme am 8. August 2008 die Armee Georgiens mit allem, was sie an Feuerkraft hatte, auf die ossetischen Stellungen schoss, in der Gewissheit, eine sofortige Reaktion der russischen Armee zu provozieren.33)
Wie kann einer derart das Völkerrecht missachtenden Politik Einhalt geboten werden? Die UNO ist dazu anscheinend nicht in der Lage. So muss die Völkergemeinschaft – Völkerbund 1919 und UN 1945 waren aus dem Denken des Krieges entstanden – endlich zu einer Gemeinschaft finden, die im Geist des Friedens entsteht 34) und unabhängig genug ist, jede friedensfeindliche Politik zu sanktionieren, egal von wem sie ausgeht.
28) Mit Operation Unthinkable (Unternehmen Undenkbar) wird ein vom britischen Premierminister Winston Churchill in Auftrag gegebenen Kriegsplan bezeichnet, der die militärische Zurückwerfung der damaligen Sowjetunion und dann die Wiederherstellung eines unabhängigen Polen durch Großbritannien und die USA zum Ziel hatte. Angriffstermin sollte der 1. Juli 1945, unter Mitwirkung von Wehrmachtstruppen, die Churchill nicht Gefangenschaft überführt. Am 13. Mai 1945 verlangte Stalin ultimativ, die deutschen Truppen in die Gefangenschaft zu überführen und die (neben dem britischen Hauptquartier in Flensburg/Mürwik untergebrachte deutsch Nachfolgeregierung zu verhaften.
