Russian forces halted the UAF’s advance into Russian territory

The Sever Battlegroup and Federal Security Services (FSB) continue to destroy Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) units in the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region, which directly border Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Defense, Sputnik Globe informs.

“Throughout the day, border defense units, in coordination with border guards, reinforcement units, and incoming reserves, have successfully prevented enemy advances through airstrikes, missile forces, and artillery fire,” the ministry reported.

Russian forces struck detected concentrations of militants and UAF equipment, thwarting attempts by individual units to penetrate deeper into the Kursk region.

Additionally, airstrikes were conducted against advancing Ukrainian reserves in the Sumy region.

Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk direction, Kiev has lost 660 soldiers and 82 pieces of armored equipment, including eight tanks, 12 armored personnel carriers, six infantry fighting vehicles, 55 armored combat vehicles, and one engineering vehicle.

In the past 24 hours alone, the UAF has lost up to 400 personnel and 32 armored vehicles, including a tank, four armored personnel carriers, three infantry fighting vehicles, and 24 Kozak armored combat vehicles.

The Russian Defense Ministry shared another footage of the destruction of the Ukrainian combat vehicle “Kozak” in the Russian Kursk region. The strike was carried out by the Lancet.

“The operation to eliminate UAF formations continues,” emphasized the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The situation in the Kursk region escalated on the morning of August 6 when Ukrainian units, numbering up to a thousand troops, attempted to seize a portion of the Sudzhansky district.

During a briefing with President Vladimir Putin, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov reported that Russian forces halted the UAF’s advance into Russian territory.

As a result of Ukrainian attacks, at least four people have died. Additionally, several dozen Russian civilians, including children and military personnel, were injured. Approximately three thousand local residents were evacuated from the border areas.

The Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings on charges of terrorism, murder, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, and attempted murder of law enforcement officers.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that an operation to neutralize Ukrainian forces who earlier tried to cross into Russia’s Kursk region is under way, Sputnik Globe informs.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the situation in the Kursk region a “large-scale provocation by the Kiev regime,” which he said “is conducting indiscriminate shooting, including from missile weapons, at residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, as well as ambulances.”

The statement came after the Russian Ministry of Defense stressed that Russia’s air, missile and artillery strikes have prevented Ukrainian forces from advancing deep into Russian territory.

Kiev has already lost 200 soldiers and 50 armed vehicles, including seven tanks, during the incursion, according to the Ministry.

This followed the region’s Acting Governor Aleksey Smirnov writing on his social media that the situation in the Kursk region, which “is heroically resisting attacks by Ukrainian [neo-] Nazis,” is under control.

Several thousand people have left the shelling and combat zone over the past 24 hours, with more than 300 people, including over 120 children, being placed in temporary accommodation centers, Smirnov added.

At least five civilians have been killed and 24 more injured, including six children, as a result of Ukraine’s shelling, Russian Health Ministry spokesman Aleksey Kuznetsov, for his part, confirmed.

On August 6, Ukrainian forces launched artillery and drone strikes before attacking the Kursk region’s Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnya areas along the Russia-Ukraine border with up to 300 troops of the 22nd Mechanized Brigade, supported by 11 tanks and scores of other armored vehicles, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement at the time.

Russian security units, together with the border troops of the Federal Security Service, repelled the attacks and inflicted fire damage on Kiev’s forces.

Head of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has meanwhile ordered the opening of a criminal case in connection with the attacks, while Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik that the shelling is “yet another terrorist attack aimed against civilians” from Kiev.

This is not the first time that Ukraine has staged ground attacks across the border into Russia. But while previous assaults were carried out by armed groups of Russian exiles backed by Kyiv’s army, the attack on Tuesday appeared to have directly involved Ukrainian troops, according to Pasi Paroinen of the Black Bird Group, which analyzes footage from the battlefield, writes ‘The New York Times’.

Mr. Paroinen said that a few hundred Ukrainian troops, supported by armored vehicles, had most likely crossed the border on the first day of the attack, and that more soldiers had arrived on the second day.

Military analysts said the attack could be an attempt to divert Russian units from the front lines, thus relieving the pressure on Ukrainian troops struggling to contain Russian advances. But they added that the Russian Army had ample reserves of troops to commit to the fight and that the attack risked further stretching Ukraine’s already outnumbered forces.

“Operationally and strategically, this attack makes absolutely zero sense,” Mr. Paroinen said. “This seems like a gross waste of men and resources badly needed elsewhere.”

Ukrainian shelling and bombings have in the past targeted Russia’s border regions of Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk, but cross-border attacks have been rare. The first such attacks reported took place in May of last year, carried out by anti-Kremlin Russian fighters aligned with Ukraine. A similar ground attack took place this March.

On both occasions, the attacks were seen as an attempt to unnerve the Russian public.

But Rob Lee, a senior fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, wrote on social media that those attacks “had little effect on the fighting” in Ukraine and “did not have serious domestic political ramifications for Putin.”

He and other military experts said that if the aim of this week’s attack was to draw Russian troops away from other parts of the front, it had little chance of succeeding.

“Russia already has greater forces/conventional capabilities in the area, better command and control, and it has conscript units that can be deployed, which are not used in Ukraine,” Mr. Lee said. “It is unlikely this operation will force Russia to pull significant forces from Ukraine.”

BELARUS: SHOT-DOWN UKRAINIAN DRONES FULL OF NATO ELECTRONICS

Belarus displayed UAVs that were brought down while in its airspace earlier this week

https://www.rt.com/russia/602455-belarus-ukrainian-drones-nato-electronics/video/66b8df4985f54006f90f68c6The Belarusian Defense Ministry has published footage of the wreckage of the Ukrainian drones that were shot down in its airspace earlier this week. The video, which was posted to Telegram, demonstrated the charred metallic fragments of what appear to be a wing and parts of the hull of a drone scattered around a wooded area. The Belarusian military did not elaborate on what types of UAVs were intercepted. Some of the drones ended up making it through to Russia, where they were later shot down near the city of Yaroslavl. According to the Belarusian media, the UAVs were filled with various NATO electronics and equipment, including a US-made active antenna and a Belgian navigation system. “The downed drones appear to have been assembled [by Ukraine] together with NATO engineers,” the Belarusian Belta news agency reported. Neither Kiev nor its Western backers have commented on the incident so far. Minsk summoned Kiev’s interim charge d’affaires, Olga Timush, over the issue to express its protest. The Foreign Ministry warned that such actions by Ukraine could lead to further escalation and demanded Kiev prevent such incidents in the future. The ministry also stated that the continued presence of Ukrainian diplomats in Belarus could be jeopardized if they are unable to influence Kiev’s policies when it comes to such “provocations.” On Sunday, the Belarusian Defense Ministry also announced that it was deploying tank units to the Ukrainian border in light of the drone incident. Lukashenko also ordered the military presence on the Ukrainian border to be strengthened. Kiev has suggested the buildup was aimed at diverting Ukraine’s attention from its incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region. READ MORE: Russian ally sends tanks to Ukrainian border (VIDEO) Belarus has never directly taken part in the conflict between Moscow and Kiev. However, at the start of Russia’s military campaign in February 2022, it allowed the Russian military to use its territory to launch an offensive on Kiev. Relations between the two neighbors have been strained ever since. https://www.rt.com/russia/602455-belarus-ukrainian-drones-nato-electronics/

Rodrigue Tremblay: The Moral Legacy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

By Prof Rodrigue Tremblay*

[We post this article by Prof. Rodrigue Tremblay in commemoration of the 79th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. First published by GR on August 8, 2010]

“We have discovered the most terrible bomb in the history of the world. It may be the fire destruction prophesied in the Euphrates Valley Era, after Noah and his fabulous Ark…. This weapon is to be used against Japan … [We] will use it so that military objectives and soldiers and sailors are the target and not women and children. Even if the Japs are savages, ruthless, merciless and fanatic, we as the leader of the world for the common welfare cannot drop that terrible bomb on the old capital or the new. … The target will be a purely military one… It seems to be the most terrible thing ever discovered, but it can be made the most useful.” (Harry S. Truman (1884-1972), 33rd U.S. President, (Diary, July 25, 1945)

“The World will note that the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima a military base. That was because we wished in this first attack to avoid, insofar as possible, the killing of civilians.” (Harry S. Truman (1884-1972), 33rd U.S. President, (radio speech to the Nation, August 9, 1945)

“.. In [July] 1945… Secretary of War [Henry L.] Stimson, visiting my headquarters in Germany, informed me that our government was preparing to drop an atomic bomb on Japan. I was one of those who felt that there were a number of cogent reasons to question the wisdom of such an act. …The Secretary, upon giving me the news of the successful bomb test in New Mexico, and of the plan for using it, asked for my reaction, apparently expecting a vigorous assent. …During his recitation of the relevant facts, I had been conscious of a feeling of depression and so I voiced to him my grave misgivings, first on the basis of my belief that Japan was already defeated and that dropping the bomb was completely unnecessary, and secondly because I thought that our country should avoid shocking world opinion by the use of a weapon whose employment was, I thought, no longer mandatory as a measure to save American lives.

It was my belief that Japan was, at that very moment, seeking some way to surrender with a minimum loss of ‘face’. The Secretary was deeply perturbed by my attitude.” (General Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe and 34th U.S. President from 1952 to 1960, (Mandate For Change, p. 380)

“Mechanized civilization has just reached the ultimate stage of barbarism. In a near future, we will have to choose between mass suicide and intelligent use of scientific conquests […] This can no longer be simply a prayer; it must become an order which goes upward from the peoples to the governments, an order to make a definitive choice between hell and reason.” (Albert Camus (1913-1960), French philosopher and author, August 8, 1945)

“As American Christians, we are deeply penitent for the irresponsible use already made of the atomic bomb. We are agreed that, whatever be one’s judgment of the war in principle, the surprise bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are morally indefensible.”(The American Federal Council of Churches‘ Report on Atomic Warfare and the Christian Faith, 1946)

“It is my opinion that the use of this barbarous weapon at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. ” – “The lethal possibilities of atomic warfare in the future are frightening. My own feeling was that in being the first to use it, we had adopted an ethical standard common to the barbarians of the Dark Ages.” (William Leahy, Chief of Staff to Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman (“I Was There”, p. 441)

“Completely in charge in their marble homes and granite banks from which they rob the people of the world under the pretence of bringing them culture, Watch out, for … they’ll send you out to protect their gold in wars whose weapons, rapidly developed by servile scientists, will become more and more deadly until they can with a flick of the finger tear a million of you to pieces.”(Jean Paul Marat (1743-1793), Swiss-born scientist and physician and actor in the French Revolution)

***

When U.S. President Harry S. Truman decided on his own to use the atom bomb, a barbarous weapon of mass destruction, against the Japanese civilian populations of the cities of Hiroshima and of Nagasaki on August 6 and on August 9, 1945, the United States sided officially on the wrong side of history. General Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe and 34th U.S. President from 1952 to 1960, said it in so many words: “…the Japanese were ready to surrender and it wasn’t necessary to hit them with that awful thing.”  (Newsweek, November 11, 1963). Between 90,000 and 120,000 people died in Hiroshima and between 60,000 and 80,000 died in Nagasaki, for a grand total of between 150,000 and 200,000 most cruel deaths.

It seems that military man Eisenhower was more ethical than Freemason small-town politician Harry S. Truman regarding the fateful decision.

In being the first country to use nuclear weapons against civilian populations, the United States was then in direct violation of internationally accepted principles of war with respect to the wholesale and indiscriminate destruction of populations. Thus, August 1945 is a most dangerous and ominous precedent that marked a new dismal beginning in the history of humanity, a big moral step backward.

In future generations, it most certainly will be considered that the use of the atom bomb against the Japanese civilian populations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a historic crime against humanity that will stain the reputation of the United States for centuries to come. It can also be said that President Harry S. Truman, besides lying to the American people about the whole sordid affair (see official quotes above), has left behind him a terrible moral legacy of incalculable consequences to future generations of Americans.

Many self-serving reasons have been advanced for justifying Truman’s decision, such as the objective of saving the lives of American soldiers by shortening the war in the Pacific and avoiding a military invasion of Japan with a quick Japanese surrender. That surrender came on August 15, 1945 and it was made official on September 2 with the signing of the Japanese Instrument of Surrender, nearly one month after the bombing of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nazi Germany had capitulated on May 8, 1945 and World War II was already over in Europe. There was also the diplomatic fear that the Soviet Red Army could have invaded Japan, as they had done in Berlin, thus depriving the United States of a hard fought clear-cut victory against Japan.

But by the end of July 1945, according to military experts, the Japanese military apparatus had de facto been defeated. It is also true that the militarist Japanese Supreme Council for the Direction of the War was stalling with the aim of getting better capitulation terms hoping for a negotiated settlement, especially regarding the future role of their Emperor Hirohito as formal head of state.

In Europe, the allies had caused a recalcitrant Nazi Germany to accept an unconditional surrender and there were other military means to force the Japanese government to surrender. The convenient pretext of rushing a surrender carries no weight compared to the enormity of using the nuclear weapon on two civilian targets. And even if President Truman was anxious to demonstrate the power of the atom bomb and impress his Soviet friends—and possibly also assert himself as a political figure vis-à-vis previous President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who had died a few months earlier, on April 12, 1945—this could have been done while targeting remote Japanese military targets, not on targeting entire cities. It seems that there were no moral considerations in this most inhuman decision.

Since that fateful month of August 1945, humanity has embarked upon a disastrous nuclear arms race and is rushing toward oblivion with its eyes open and its mind closed.

Michel Chossudovsky: Towards a WW III Scenario. The Privatization of Nuclear War.

By Prof Michel Chossudovsky

Canadian economist Prof. Michel Chossudovsky criticizes the U.S. government for promoting nuclear war propaganda and advocating for the ‘safe use’ of nuclear weapons in conventional war. He highlights the brainwashing of decision-makers and the dangers of their own power.

Chossudovsky discusses the 2001 Nuclear Posture Review and the recategorization of nuclear weapons.

The short video below also addresses the role of Victoria Nuland in U.S. foreign policy and the neo-Nazi agenda embedded in regime change efforts.

Hiroshima Day, August 6, 2024

Towards a World War III Scenario:

The Privatization of Nuclear War

Michel Chossudovsky

August 7, 2011.

Introduction

At no point since the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945, has humanity been closer to the unthinkable – a nuclear holocaust which could potentially spread in terms of radioactive fallout over a large part of the Middle East.

All the safeguards of the Cold War era, which categorized the nuclear bomb as “a weapon of last resort”, have been scrapped. “Offensive” military actions using nuclear warheads are now described as acts of “self-defense”.

The casualties from the direct effects of blast, radioactivity, and fires resulting from the massive use of nuclear weapons by the superpowers [of the Cold War era] would be so catastrophic that we avoided such a tragedy for the first four decades after the invention of nuclear weapons.

During the Cold War, the doctrine of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) prevailed, namely that the use of nuclear weapons against the Soviet Union would result in “the destruction of both the attacker and the defender”.

In the post Cold war era, US nuclear doctrine was redefined. The dangers of nuclear weapons have been obfuscated.

Tactical nuclear weapons have been upheld as distinct, in terms of their impact, from the strategic thermonuclear bombs of the Cold War era.

Tactical nuclear weapons are identical to the strategic nuclear bombs. The only thing that differentiates these two categories of nuclear bombs are:

1) their delivery system;
2) their explosive yield (measured in mass of trinitrotoluene (TNT), in kilotons or megatons.

The tactical nuclear weapon or low yield mini-nuke is described as a small nuclear bomb, delivered in the same way as the earth penetrating bunker buster bombs.

While the technology is fundamentally different, tactical nuclear weapons, in terms of in-theater delivery systems are comparable to the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.

The Pentagon’s 2001 Nuclear Posture Review envisaged so-called “contingency plans” for an offensive “first strike use” of nuclear weapons, not only against “axis of evil” countries (including Iran and North Korea) but also against Russia and China.

The adoption of the NPR by the US Congress in late 2002 provided a green light for carrying out the Pentagon’s pre-emptive nuclear war doctrine, both in terms of military planning as well as defense procurement and production. Congress not only rolled back its prohibition on low yield nuclear weapons, it also provided funding “to pursue work on so-called mini-nukes”. The financing was allocated to bunker buster (earth penetrator) tactical nuclear weapons as well as to the development of new nuclear weapons.

Hiroshima Day 2003: Secret Meeting at Strategic Command Headquarters

On August 6, 2003, on Hiroshima Day, [twenty two years ago] commemorating when the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima (August 6 1945), a secret meeting was held behind closed doors at Strategic Command Headquarters at the Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska.

Senior executives from the nuclear industry and the military industrial complex were in attendance. This mingling of defense contractors, scientists and policy-makers was not intended to commemorate Hiroshima.

The meeting was intended to set the stage for the development of a new generation of “smaller”, “safer” and “more usable” nuclear weapons, to be used in the “in-theater nuclear wars” of the 21st Century.

In a cruel irony, the participants to this secret meeting, which excluded members of Congress, arrived on the anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing and departed on the anniversary of the attack on Nagasaki.

More than 150 military contractors, scientists from the weapons labs, and other government officials gathered at the headquarters of the US Strategic Command in Omaha, Nebraska to plot and plan for the possibility of “full-scale nuclear war”, calling for the production of a new generation of nuclear weapons – more “usable” so-called “mini-nukes” and earth penetrating “bunker busters” armed with atomic warheads.

According to a leaked draft of the agenda, the secret meeting included discussions on “mini-nukes” and “bunker-buster” bombs with nuclear war heads “for possible use against rogue states”:

We need to change our nuclear strategy from the Cold War to one that can deal with emerging threats… The meeting will give some thought to how we guarantee the efficacy of the (nuclear) stockpile.

The Privatization of Nuclear War: US Military Contractors Set the Stage

The post 9/11 nuclear weapons doctrine was in the making, with America’s major defense contractors directly involved in the decision-making process.

The Hiroshima Day 2003 meetings had set the stage for the “privatization of nuclear war”. Corporations not only reap multibillion-dollar profits from the production of nuclear bombs, they also have a direct voice in setting the agenda regarding the use and deployment of nuclear weapons.

The nuclear weapons industry, which includes the production of nuclear devices as well as the missile delivery systems, etc., is controlled by a handful of defense contractors with Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Northrop Grunman, Raytheon and Boeing in the lead.

It is worth noting that barely a week prior to the historic August 6, 2003 meeting, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) disbanded its advisory committee which provided an “independent oversight” on the US nuclear arsenal, including the testing and/or use of new nuclear devices.

Financing the Culture of War

There are more than 5000 US nuclear weapons deployed. And now the US is committed to developing a generation of “more usable” low yield tactical nuclear weapons (bunker buster bombs) which are “harmless to the surrounding civilian population because the explosion is underground”.

“Blowing up the Planet” on a first strike basis as a instrument of peace and global security.

Those who decide on the use of nuclear weapons believe their own lies.

And what the US public does not know that is that on September 15, 1945, confirmed by declassified documents, the Truman administration released a secret plan to bomb 66 Soviet cities with 204 atomic bombs, at a time when the US and the Soviet Union were allies.

And those who dare to say that the use of nuclear weapons threatens the future of humanity are branded as “conspiracy theorists”.

Children torn apart’, bodies charred – 100 dead- in IOF Tabieen school massacre- STOP Zionist Nazis!

from thefreeonline on 10th Aug 2024 By Al Mayadeen English

The Gaza Government Media Office holds both «Israel» and the US administration responsible, pointing out that the Israeli occupation army launched a deliberate attack on the school

After «Israel» committed a horrendous massacre during the early hours of Saturday, nothing remained of the scene but bloodied body bags and devastation.

At least 100 Palestinians were killed in the Al-Tabieen school in Gaza City, and dozens more were injured.

As Palestinians were performing the morning prayers, Israeli warplanes struck the mosque with three airstrikes, leaving behind a hellish scene of unrecognized bodies and mass destruction.

Al-Tabieen comprises a religious school and mosque in Gaza City.

The Government Media Office in Gaza stated that «due to the enormity of the massacre and the rising number of victims, medical and civil defense teams have not yet been able to retrieve all the bodies.»

AFP reported body parts being strewn around the ruins and charred, bloodied bodies slumped in the wreckage of the two-story complex.

The Media Office held both «Israel» and the US administration responsible, pointing out that the Israeli occupation army launched a deliberate attack on the school, where many displaced individuals who had sought refuge were performing morning prayers, which led to a massive number of martyrs.

More than 300 people were present at the time of the Israeli bombing, the Office added.

It condemned this «horrific massacre in the strongest terms and [called] on the entire world to condemn it.» It also demanded that the international community and international organizations put pressure on the occupation to stop the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

According to an AFP assessment, at least 14 schools housing Gaza’s displaced have been targeted since July 6, killing over 280 people.

There Is Something Rotten in Washington

Scott Ritter is harassed by FBI for calling for peace while Israel’s Lobby overthrows elections

By Philip Giraldi

The Unz Review

One thing you can say about the Administration of President Joe Biden is that nearly every week there is something new and exciting to discuss. Galloping dementia recently gifted us with Joe’s 11 minute abdication speech in which he announced that he would not be running for another term as president. He babbled about how he was taking the step in spite of his desire to continue. The president, who is 81 and recently best noted for his failing mental state causing him to fall down stairs, felt compelled to say that he believes that his record as president “merited a second term” but that “nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy.” He also claimed that “I’m the first president in this century to report to the American people that the United States is not at war anywhere in the world,” even though it is engaged in a military occupation and combat operations in Syria, bombing Yemen and conducting counterterrorism in Iraq as well as supporting logistically and with intelligence the large and growing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. He has pledged to Israel that he will “defend” it if attacked, presumably no matter what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assassinates or bombs to provoke a war against Lebanon, Syria and Iran. Joe ended up by celebrating the nomination of Kamala Harris as heir-designate to the Oval Office after disposing of the troublesome and assertive Donald Trump, who presumably is the one who will tear up the US Constitution and “destroy democracy” if given the chance to do so.The Collapse of AntiquityHudson, MichaelBest Price: $28.98Buy New $29.00(as of 07:13 UTC — Details)

But that was two weeks ago. More recently the fun fair on the Potomac turned its guns on a major critic of the federal government’s policies, most notably exercising its proclivity to float a lot of lies to turn anyone who exercises his or her first amendment right to free speech into some kind of traitor who has to be silenced. Many would argue that if the Biden Administration has one major failure beyond losing control over the country’s southern border, it is failure to manage US Foreign Policy in such a fashion as to avoid initiating or expanding existing international conflicts so as to turn them into major wars. If one considers Ukraine and Gaza, both conflicts that could have easily been stopped or de-escalated if the State Department had stopped acting as a shill for Volodymyr Zelensky and Benjamin Netanyahu and had instead created disincentives to continuing the fighting, the case for US involvement as an antagonist is non-existent. The American people benefit in no way from either war and opinion polls make clear that there is considerable popular opposition to the carnage taking place along both fronts.

On August 7th, it was reported that Scott Ritter, who I consider a friend, had his house in New York State searched by FBI and police and twenty five boxes containing documents and electronic communications devices were reportedly taken away for examination in an “ongoing investigation.” Scott, a former Marine corps intelligence officer, has anti-war credentials that go way back to before the Iraq War when he, as a United Nations Weapon inspector, declared that Saddam Hussein had no “weapons of mass destruction” (WMD). WMD fear was being promoted in Washington as the reason for attacking and disarming Iraq. Scott was pilloried both by the mainstream media and by the Pentagon’s and White House’s mostly Jewish neocons (Paul Wolfowitz, Doug Feith, Richard Perle and Scooter Libby) who were busy fabricating deliberately misleading information and disseminating it to encourage the George W. Bush administration to start the war, which it obligingly did. Scott nevertheless has continued to be an effective gadfly over war and peace issues ever since that time.

Ritter had earlier had a run-in with the Biden regime in June 2024 when he was at the airport in New York City preparing to fly to Istanbul on his way to St. Petersburg to attend the prestigious international Economic Forum that that city hosts annually. A team of three FBI agents accosted him as he was about to board his plane and they confiscated his passport under orders from the State Department. They would neither give him a receipt for the document nor did they produce a warrant. No reason was given for the action, and Scott has since that time been unable to get his passport back.

The passport confiscation and now the house search appear to be connected with what is referred to as a Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) of 1938 investigation. FARA came into being just before the outbreak of the Second World War, when it was feared that “agents” of the Italian and German governments were all too freely spreading their propaganda in the US. In particular, FARA mandates that the finances and relationships of the foreign affiliated organization be open to Department of the Justice inspection. It states that “any person who acts as an agent, representative, employee, or servant, or otherwise acts at the order, request, or under the direction or control of a foreign principal.” Those who fail to disclose might be penalized by up to five years in prison and fines up to $250,000.

To be sure, the U.S. government has recently been aggressive in demanding FARA registration for other nations as well as for Americans working for foreign powers. There have been several prominent FARA cases in the news. Major Russian news agencies operating in the U.S. were compelled to register in 2017 because they were funded largely or in part by the Kremlin. Also, as part of their plea deals, the former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn both conceded that they had failed to comply with FARA when working as consultants with foreign governments.

While the Department of Justice is now going after Scott Ritter using FARA presumably because he is an effective critic of Joe Biden’s wars, there are some indications that other elements in the US government security apparatus are going after others who have dared to oppose what the White House and Congress have been up to. On August 6th, while Democratic nominee Kamala Harris pledged to defend “freedom, compassion, and the rule of law” to cheers in Philadelphia, Hawaii’s former Congresswoman and National Guard officer Tulsi Gabbard described how she was being tracked by teams of government agents in surveilling her and her husband whenever she travels by air. Whistleblowing Air Marshals leaked how Gabbard had been singled out as a “domestic terror threat” under the so-called “Quiet Skies” program. While Attorney General Merrick Garland is active in pursuing individual Americans for possible FARA and “domestic terrorism” violations, he is strangely but predictably reluctant to go after the most corrupt foreign government’s US-domestic lobby which dwarfs all others in terms of illicit cash flow and political impact. It is a foreign government that receives billions of dollars a year in “aid” and other benefits from the United States taxpayer. Consider beyond that, the possibility that that government might take part of the money it receives and secretly recycle it to groups of American citizens in the United States that exist to maintain and increase that money flow while also otherwise serving other interests of the recipient country. That would mean that the United States is itself subsidizing the lobbies and groups that are inevitably working against its own interests. And it also means that those lobbyists though US citizens are acting as foreign agents, covertly giving priority to their attachment to a foreign country instead of to the nation in which they live.

I am, of course, referring to Israel. It does not require a brilliant observer to note how Israel and its allies inside the U.S. have become very skilled at milking the government in the United States at all levels for every bit of financial aid, trade concessions, military hardware and political cover that is possible to obtain. The flow of dollars, goods, and protection is never actually debated in any serious way and is often, in fact, negotiated directly by Congress or state legislatures directly with the Israeli lobbyists. This corruption and manipulation of the US governmental system by people who are basically foreign agents is something like a criminal enterprise and one can only imagine the screams of outrage coming from the New York Times if there were a similar arrangement with any other country.

Recent revelations suggest that Israel’s cheating involves subsidies that are paid covertly by Israeli government agencies to groups in the United States which in turn took direction from the Jewish state, often inter alia damaging genuine American interests. The Israeli Lobby also has been long noted for its interference in American elections, including spending large sums of money to oust politicians who complain about the Jewish state and its behavior. Progressive Congresswoman Cori Bush, a critic of Israel, was recently ousted after her opponent received $8 million and earlier this year Jamaal Bowman lost after a record $15 million went to support another “friendly to Israel” candidate.Grandpa Bear Goes to W…Lewis, TerrelleBuy New $7.99(as of 09:22 UTC — Details)

Many of the groups receiving Israeli money failed to disclose the payments, which is a felony. At the same time, even the casual observer of government in Washington would inevitably note how Israel’s various friends and proxies, uniquely, have been de facto exempt from any regulation by the US government. The last serious attempt to register a major lobbying entity was made by John F. Kennedy, who sought to have the predecessor organization to today’s American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) comply with FARA. Kennedy was killed before he could complete the process and some have linked his death to efforts to register the Israel lobby elements while also blocking Israeli attempts to illegally and secretly develop nuclear weapons.

If one is requiring all the Israeli proxies that together make up the Israel Lobby to register under FARA, you might start with AIPAC, the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) and the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) but there will be many, many more before the work is done. And there is Christians United for Israel (CUFI), which also has received funding and material aid directly from Israel. The fundamentalist Christian head cases that place Israel’s interests ahead of those of their own country finally need to have their bell rung.

One might well suggest that the Biden Administration stop harassing ordinary Americans who are exercising their free speech right to critique unnecessary wars and instead go after the Israel Lobby, which is a major contributing factor to why those wars are taking place at all. It would also be nice to end the hypocrisy that surrounds anything having to do with Israel in Washington. The country is no democracy, no ally, and it is a major league war criminal with possibly hundreds of thousands of dead Palestinians as evidence of its genocidal inclinations. Several hundred Congressmen cheering war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu do not change that. Apart from anything else, that the United States is involved in sustaining and providing cover for the slaughter of thousands of innocents while also pursuing its own citizens who are saying “Thou shalt not!” is an abomination.

The FBI, Leading Indicator of Deep State Priorities

By Karen Kwiatkowski

Retired American Marine Scott Ritter is not intimidated, and he does not blame the FBI agents themselves. He reports that they were careful and well-behaved as they searched and raided his cars and home for electronic devices and records on Wednesday. Ritter, a former UN Nuclear Weapons Inspector and Marine, spoke out early about neocon and Bush Administration lies regarding WMD in Iraq, circa 2002. He has few admirers inside the deep state, and his continued activism for common sense and peace in US foreign policy has enraged them.

His experience, honesty and legitimacy are a triple threat to any state that manages its foreign policy ahistorically, on the basis of constant lies and spin, and without electoral legitimacy. I could be speaking of Ukraine’s Zelensky, long past his use-by date with a state policy of hunting down and killing political enemies, or any number of other countries. I’m talking instead about the far more dangerous, and disturbingly apoplectic, empire of Washington, DC.The Iron Curtain Over …Beaty, JohnBest Price: $26.50Buy New $27.93(as of 05:03 UTC — Details)

We should take seriously what the FBI does and does not do. The US government has many agencies of terror and force, from Homeland Security, to DEA and ATF, to lesser law enforcement agencies, the vast internecine network of intelligence agencies and the Department of Defense itself. The FBI – as a domestic and international player – serves as a valuable bellwether for the average citizen, a sampler of the extensive cohort of coercive federal departments.  It works for the deep state, is not independent of that state, and it is relatively disciplined, in that it reliably obeys the state.  It is an indicator of the mood of the state, and it’s blinking red.

Scott has been a target of the US war machine and the back room boys who run the country for decades.  A few months ago, US agents seized his passport just before he got on a plane from New York to Istanbul on his way to the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.  This action, and the FBI raid this week, seem to be connected to Ritter’s excellent perspectives and communications regarding the Washington’s neocon Russia policy, and the costly and tragic US/NATO misadventure in Ukraine.

But Scott has also been extraordinarily accurate and open in his description of Israel as a terrorist state. His factual observations and analysis in this arena carry weight – and cannot be easily discounted using the “everyone slur” of anti-Semitism.

US Senators and Congressmen, and all political appointees are well-educated by their handlers and donors as to what can and cannot be said, and done, regarding Israel.  AIPAC and other Israel uber alles organizations have been very successful in owning and controlling both main parties, as well as most third party candidates. They run the campaigns of both main political parties, and they publicly choose American political leadership.  AIPAC is boasting on X now about their multi-million primary victories, and money well spent to ensure both houses of Congress walk the line.

Israel has not “suddenly” or unexpectedly become a terrorist state. It was that from the beginning, and most Israelis are very proud of that history. But rather than a mythology of independence, Israel is instead dependent on those around the world who support, or had supported, its Zionist government in word and deed.  That level of support is changing.  For almost 70 years, European colonialism has been rejected and vilified around the world. In 1992, nearly 70% of white voters – that is to say South African voters at that time – voted to end apartheid.  The global shift away from ideas of racial and religious separatism, away from land-stealing colonial expansionism has caused Israel – and her supporters and enablers in the US – to find themselves in a harsh spotlight.

It is Israel’s obvious hypocrisy that drives campus demonstrations against apartheid and mass civilian murder in Gaza.  It is the US government’s obvious hypocrisy that makes US State Department and National Security Council spokespersons the absolute jokes that they are – not believed, nor respected by domestic or international audiences.

Most of those who oppose what Israel has done, and is doing in Gaza – that is to say, those who oppose the slaughter and removal of two million mostly unarmed people, along with the destruction of every school, university, hospital, factory, church and mosque, and building they ever built, to prepare for an Israeli taking of Gaza, its beaches and its gas fields – do so largely emotionally, without a deep knowledge of Israel’s history.

Likewise, most of those who support what Israel is doing, in Gaza and elsewhere, tend to have limited knowledge of the history of the modern Israeli state, and are just as emotionally driven.

Our ignorant emotionalism about a small foreign country is not problematic for any other country on the planet.  But it’s a make-or-break survival issue for Israel as it exists today.  That Israel needs US money, weapons, and diplomatic top cover.  To get it, that Israel has invested deeply since 1948 in creating and cultivating a mythology and a set narrative for Americans, and enforcing its will in Washington.

Scott Ritter’s assessment of Israel’s deeds and strategies are having an impact towards curing and correcting the ignorance on both sides.  When a message, and its many messengers, can speak just as productively and usefully to a 19-year-old queer studies major as it does to a 60-year-old Christian Zionist, US policy-makers and deep state commanders have a big problem.

When Americans understand how Israel was formed, how it politically operates at home, and in Washington, and some of its past relations with the United States, they are then able to form an actual opinion, as opposed to having their opinions created for them at their Israeli-funded church, or by their AIPAC-paid-for politicians. The Prepperu2019s Wate…Daisy LutherBest Price: $7.49Buy New $9.94(as of 06:00 UTC — Details)

The 1967 Israeli attack on the USS Liberty, a recon ship parked in international waters, two days into Israel’s “Six Day War” against Egypt is a touchstone in understanding what was and remains a sick and co-dependent relationship between two countries.  34 American servicemen were killed, and 172 injured, by being strafed, shot, torpedoed, and napalmed by Israeli pilots and naval forces for several hours.  A bullet-ridden US flag is on display at NSA, a silent witness that this was no accident.  Rescue operations for the USS Liberty were initially denied — and then recalled – by the sitting President Lyndon B. Johnson.  The coverup persists to this day, but because legacy media is dead, and new media is difficult to control, millions of Americans are very aware of this vividly criminal act, and the US coverup of an old, and by today’s standards, miniscule Israeli crime.

The attack against American Marines was conducted by our best ally in the Middle East, and the coverup went to the highest levels of Washington.  Since 1951 – 16 years before the attack on the USS Liberty and 57 years after it – over a third of a trillion of taxpayers inflation-adjusted dollars have flowed to Israel.  This number was bumped up recently as Congress in bipartisan unity awarded billions of additional military aid in the past year.   Congressman Thomas Massie, the only Republican to skip the latest Netanyahu address to both houses of a genuflecting Congress, recently explained that all of his peers have an assigned AIPAC constituent, to ensure they “vote right” on Israel – and that, plus Israeli blackmail and intelligence operations against key executive and legislative branch personnel, seems to pay off.

One might think that another country’s overt acts and efforts to kill Americans in order to benefit their own country would be problematic. One might think these incidents would be publicized, rather than covered up, and they are, except in the case of Israel.

Crimes of state against citizens, protection rackets for politicians, coercion and coverups.  We are back into FBI territory.

The FBI is lazy and complacent when it is doing what it should do, evidenced by its work on past and present political murders, attempted assassinations, and catching actual spies. It is aggressive and energetic when it is developing and co-opting otherwise innocent people to kidnap governors or set off bombs.  It is a purely political organization, and it works today for the deep state, and that deep state has decided it does not wish to see either Trump/Pence or Kennedy/Shanahan in the White House.  Yet both Trump and Kennedy are vocal supporters of Israel – so this story about the FBI raid on Scott Ritter’s home should not be about Israel at all.

So why is it?

Kursk Campaign Designed To Keep War Going

Moon of Alabama

The (former) President of Ukraine Vlodomir Zelenski recently made some ambivalent remarks about potential peace talks:

Volodymyr Zelensky told the newspaper “Le Monde” that he does not rule out holding a referendum on the future of Ukrainian territories to end the war, but “it requires the will of the Ukrainian people.”

According to the president of the country, Ukraine should not liberate all its territories by “force and weapons,” because this option “costs us a lot of time and human lives.” Zelensky added: – We can return our territories through diplomatic means. The Politically Incorr…DiLorenzo, Thomas J.Best Price: $7.32Buy New $15.39(as of 05:03 UTC — Details)

This is another groundbreaking statement from the Ukrainian leader. On July 22, he said in an interview with the BBC that Ukraine is ready to negotiate the end of the war with Russia, even if Vladimir Putin leads the latter. According to the president of Ukraine, the most essential thing in this matter is a genuine desire for peace on terms consistent with international law.

He added that the “hot” stage of the war could end before the end of 2024, but the peace plan must be fully agreed with Ukraine’s allies “so that no one plays with their own initiatives for ending the war.”

It was and is doubtful that Zelenski really wants to make peace. In talks with the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban he had pointed to a theory of victory over Russia. As Orban explained (machine translation):

According to Hungarian Prime Minister Orban, in reality Zelensky assumes that Russia will have to resort to general mobilization in the middle of next year. And this can lead to internal destabilization in the Russian Federation.

Therefore, Zelensky is confident that time is playing on the side of Ukraine in the war – as Orban wrote in a letter to EU leaders after meeting with the Ukrainian president. A source in diplomatic circles informed Strana about the existence of such a letter.

“As for the outcome of the war, the President of Ukraine is confident that the Russian armed forces will be forced to resort to general mobilization in the middle of next year, which will lead to internal destabilization. He believes that the Ukrainian forces are stable, prepared and able to maintain combat effectiveness even in the long term, if Western arms supplies continue. He believes that time is on the side of Ukraine, not on the side of Russia,” the letter says.

At the same time, Orban notes that Putin’s assessment of the situation is diametrically opposed. The Russian President believes that time is on Russia’s side.

I find the Zelenski’s theory of victory rather fancy.

  • Russia will need a general mobilization?
  • The mobilization in Russia would lead to the destabilization of Russia?
  • The government of President Putin would fall over it?
  • The Ukrainian army is in good shape?
  • It can stay in combat for much longer?
  • Ukraine can wait out Russia?

I would answer each of those question with a loud “No”.

However, Zelenski may well believe in at least some of those claims.

The issue came up again due to the recent Ukrainian incursion into the Kursk region of Russia. There are multiple ideas what the Ukraine leaders wants to achieve with this:

Ukraine has said nothing about the mission or its goals. Theories abound, from an attempt to seize territory as a potential bargaining chip in future negotiations with Moscow, to a diversionary tactic to ease pressure on stretched defenses in Ukraine by drawing Russian forces away from the frontline.

But the Bloomberg writer comes up with a different theory – that the attack was made to unbalance Russia:

The episode exposed the fragility of Russian border defenses with growing numbers of its soldiers fighting in Ukraine. It has boosted Ukrainian morale.

And it has also punctured the Kremlin’s carefully constructed image of Putin as the protector of ordinary Russians.

Instead, the war he started in Ukraine now spills increasingly into Russia, where people in border regions live under constant risk of shelling and drones strike key industrial facilities.

For Ukraine, it’s likely to bolster Kyiv’s argument that US and European allies shouldn’t fear Kremlin threats of escalation and that it should be allowed to take the fight to Putin in any way it sees fit to hasten an end to the war.

The daily summary author at Strana suspects an only slightly different motive (machine translation):

Much indicates that Kiev’s real strategy is quite different – to wage a long war in the hope of internal destabilization in the Russian Federation. And here the task is to convince Western partners (including such skeptical ones as Trump) that this is not a dream, but a real calculation. Therefore, Ukraine should not be pushed to negotiate, but give the Armed Forces of Ukraine more weapons and lift restrictions on missiles.

The offensive in the Kursk region, apparently, is designed to prove this to the West.

In an interview last night, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (and brain behind Zelenski), Andrey Yermak seemed to confirm that view (video).

Yermak currently sees no point in direct negotiations with Russia. He wants to convince Ukraine’s supporters that Ukraine can win:

Ahead of the U.S. presidential election, Ukraine is working with the Democratic and Republican parties to keep them aware of the developments in Ukraine.Nuclear War: A ScenarioJacobsen, AnnieBest Price: $13.47Buy New $19.44(as of 04:17 UTC — Details)

This was stated by the Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, who spoke in an interview with European Pravda, Ukrinform reports.

“We are working today both with people from the team of candidate Donald Trump, and – even before the nomination – with Vice President Kamala Harris, who is already a candidate from the Democratic Party. It is very important for us that both headquarters, both candidates and those around them clearly understand what is happening in Ukraine, that they clearly understand the current stage of the war and our strategy. I believe it is very important that both candidates have a plan for Ukraine’s victory,” he said.

The plan in Kiev is not to negotiate but to prolong the war and to convince the west to further finance it. This would have the advantage of moving billions of additional dollar from western sources into the various pockets in Kiev with Zelenski and Yermak cashing in the largest share of it.

15 NATO TROOPS, SOME AMERICANS ‘TOASTED’ WITH THERMOBARIC WEAPONS NEAR SUDZHA

A missile strike with a thermobaric warhead on a temporary foreign mercenary base on the southern outskirts of Sudzha has killed 15 militants, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

The Russian Armed Forces continue to

repel attempts by Ukrainian forces to invade Russian territory, the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) stated on Saturday.

Over the previous day, forces of the Russian Sever Battlegroup, along with reserves, thwarted attempts by enemy mobile groups to penetrate deeper into Russian territory in the areas of Ivashkovsky, Malaya Loknya, and Olgovka through active operations, army aviation strikes and artillery fire.

Ukrainian manpower and equipment were also targeted in the areas of Nikolayevo-Daryino, Guyevo, Lyubimovka, Zelenyi Shlyakh, and Sverdlovka.

The MoD reported that air and missile forces hit Ukrainian reserves in the Sumy region.

A thermobaric missile strike on a temporary foreign mercenary base on the southern outskirts of Sudzha resulted in the elimination of 15 foreign mercenaries.

Ukraine’s Incursion Into Russia’s Kursk Region Puts EU Energy Stability at Risk – Activist

Yesterday

Over the previous 24 hours, Ukrainian forces reportedly lost up to 175 personnel and 36 armored vehicles, including 10 tanks, three armored personnel carriers, two infantry fighting vehicles and 21 other armored fighting vehicles.

One motor vehicle, three field artillery piece, and a BM-21 “Grad” multiple rocket launcher were also destroyed.

Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk direction, Ukrainian losses have amounted to up to 1,120 personnel and 140 armored vehicles, including 22 tanks.

The operation to eliminate Ukrainian formations is ongoing, the Russian Ministry of Defense added.

Russian Su-30 and Su-35 fighter jets carried out strikes using bombs fitted with Universal Gliding and Guidance Modules against concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and equipment near the Ukrainian border

“Crews of the multi-role super-maneuverable fighters with thrust vector control, Su-30SM and Su-35S of the Aerospace Forces, conducted a nighttime strike on concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and military equipment in the border area of the Kursk region,” the MoD said.

“After receiving confirmation from intelligence about the destruction of the targets, the crews safely returned to their base airfield,” the statement added.

Threat to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant

Meanwhile, the situation around the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant has significantly deteriorated in recent days, with a real danger of strikes from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to the state corporation Rosatom.

Rosatom Director-General Alexey Likhachev spoke by telephone with Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to discuss the situation surrounding the plant.

“On the evening of August 9, 2024, a telephone conversation took place between Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom, and Rafael Grossi, head of the IAEA,” A Rosatom statement said. “The conversation was initiated by the Russian side. The key topic of the consultations was the situation around the Kursk NPP.”

“In recent days, the situation has significantly worsened,” the nuclear power corporation warned.

“On Thursday, August 8, debris and fragments of downed missiles were discovered on the territory of the NPP, including in the area of the radioactive waste processing complex,” Rosatom said. “Actions by the Kiev regime on the evening of August 9 led to the disabling of a transformer substation, leaving Kurchatov—the city nearest to the Kursk NPP—without electricity.”

“At present, there remains a real danger of strikes and provocations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the NPP,” the Russian state corporation reported.

Likhachev stressed to Grossi that the Ukrainian attacks “pose a direct threat not only to the Kursk NPP but also to the development of global nuclear energy as a whole,” the statement said.

“The current situation not only negatively affects the normal operation of the Kursk NPP but also directly compromises the principles of nuclear safety and physical security formulated by the head of the IAEA in 2022, thereby undermining confidence in nuclear energy overall,” Rosatom concluded.

Genocide of the Celts by the Anglo-Saxons, the overall result of the «migration of peoples»

Spread of the Celtic language:

But once upon a time (even according to official history) the Celtic civilization competed with the Roman (and actually merged with it — the Romans did not ethnically dominate most of the west of the empire), but the Germans in the 5th century. all this changed… Yes, Wales should not be looked at as an “oasis” — the Celts retreated there from the Anglo-Saxons, but rather quickly turned into savages — this is about the issue of degradation of peoples and now only less than 1% speak Celtic there..
But in France the Gauls “digested” the Germans — even the invasion of the Normans to the north yielded almost nothing; in Italy the Goths and Lombards also “disappeared in this mess,” not to mention Spain — so the so-called . The “great migration” of peoples and the “invasion of the robbers” brought down the administrative building of the Roman Empire, but gave little ethnically (the continent was obviously more populated than the British Isles) — in fact, the world moved from “antiquity” to the Middle Ages (in in this case — the “dark” centuries only as a result of the Arab-Islamic offensive in the 7th-8th centuries.
By the way, the current invasion of “migrants” will most likely give different results — more noticeable in ethnic terms — in fact, this is already noticeable both here and in Europe …And this cannot be corrected by financial and administrative measures — for the revival of the people we need a BLIGHT goal and ideological organization of the elite
