Netanyahu takes Israel to the brink of destruction

By Steven Sahiounie

Haniyeh was a guest of the government of Iran when he was killed, and in the culture of the region, a guest is considered the responsibility of the host.

On August 30, at 8:00 pm. local time, Israel struck a four-story residential building in the southern section of Beirut, Lebanon. The airstrike assassinated Fuad Shukr, killed three civilians, and injured 174 others.

Shukr was a senior military commander in the Lebanese resistance organization, Hezbollah, and was a founding member of its military wing. Shukr is accredited with obtaining the bulk of the group’s more advanced weapons, which experts have said are on parity with those of Israel.

Israeli military planners had accused Shukr of a missile strike on July 27 that killed 12 children playing football in Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights. The children were not Israeli citizens, or Jewish, but were Syrian Druze living under occupation on their own land.

Hezbollah denied responsibility for the strike, and said after investigation the missile was an Israeli air-defense missile which misfired.

Israeli ministers attempted to visit the funerals of some of the killed children, but were attacked verbally by parents and relatives, who blame the Israeli military for the massacre.

Netanyahu deflected blame on Hezbollah for the dead children, and used them to justify the assassination of Shukr. If a regional war starts because of a lie, it won’t be the first time. The U.S. used 9/11 to justify the attack, invasion and occupation of Iraq based on what we know was a lie.

Prime Minister Najib Mikati of Lebanon condemned the “blatant Israeli aggression,” describing the assassination as a “criminal act” in a “series of aggressive operations killing civilians in clear and explicit violation of international law”.

Iran

At 2:00 am. Beirut time, just six hours after the Shukr assassination, Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated by an Israeli airstrike in Tehran, along with his bodyguard Wasim Abu Shaaban.

Hamas and Hezbollah are both part of the ‘axis of resistance’, which is formed by armed groups across the region. They are united in the armed resistance of Israeli occupation of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as Israeli occupied areas in Lebanon and Syria. The groups have been in military exchanges with Israel during the current Gaza war beginning on October 7. The groups have vowed to continue their struggle in support of the people of Gaza until Israel will stop the war.

Israeli media has reported that the missile that struck Haniyeh’s residence was launched from outside Iran, which would be a first for Israel.

Haniyeh had been living outside of Gaza since 2019, and was in Tehran for the inauguration of President Masoud Pezeshkian which he attended just hours before his death.

Israel has previously sabotaged Iranian nuclear and military facilities and assassinated nuclear scientists from inside Iran. In April, Israel launched an attack inside Iran on a military facility in Isfahan, and inflicted damage to a Russian-made S-300 missile defense system.

Iran’s Khamenei, Pezeshkian and IRGC have all promised retaliation for Haniyeh’s assassination, but have not disclosed their plans. Haniyeh was a guest of the government of Iran when he was killed, and in the culture of the region, a guest is considered the responsibility of the host.

Iraq

About 8:00 pm. Beirut time, almost exactly timed with the Israeli attack on Beirut, the U.S. carried out an attack inside a base south of Baghdad operated by Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) that killed four members of the group and wounded four others.

U.S. officials described the attack as “self-defense” demonstrating coordination with the Israeli military’s assassination of Shukr in Beirut.

U.S. officials, speaking off the record, said the U.S. carried out an airstrike in Musayib, located in Babil province that targeted militants that the U.S. supposed might launch drones on U.S. forces in Iraq, in an unprovoked and pre-emptive deadly attack.

The Iraqi parliament had demanded the U.S. military leave Iraq, and the Baghdad government held talks with the U.S. on the subject of withdrawal, but as of yet the U.S. has not complied with the Iraqi demands.

Iraq condemned the strike saying the U.S. has committed a “heinous crime” by targeting security sites south of Baghdad and said the attacks were a serious violation of the U.S. mission and mandate, an Iraqi military spokesman Yahya Rasool said in a statement.

The PMF is a division of the Iraqi Army, and fought alongside the U.S.-led coalition in the fight to defeat ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

On July 24, President Joe Biden gave an Oval Office speech saying that he concluded in recent weeks that “the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation.”

Biden had bet his chances on winning re-election on delivering a win in Ukraine, and a ceasefire in Gaza. On July 11, Netanyahu reneged on his promise to accept the Biden proposed ceasefire in Gaza, Biden and his advisors decided to throw in the towel. Biden is now a lame-duck President and the Oval Office is running on autopilot, which suits Netanyahu.

On July 24, Netanyahu delivered an address to a joint meeting of Congress. He received numerous standing ovations from the members who attended, while dozens of lawmakers boycotted his address and demanded a ceasefire in Gaza.

Netanyahu gaged his support in the Congress and knew then he could get away with murder, and stay out of jail. The U.S. Congress had effectively given him the ‘green-light’ to do as he pleased.

John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M.Walt exposed AIPAC as the driving force which keeps the U.S. foreign policy firmly under the thumb of Israel.

How will Iran and Hezbollah reply?

In a TV address on July 1, Hassan Nasrallah said the decision to reply has been taken, and Iran has made a similar statement.

Netanyahu may use the reply to attack nuclear facilities inside Iran, which has been an extremist goal for years.

Yair Lapid, Israeli opposition politician, met with Netanyahu on July 1 and told him to stop listening to Ithamar Ben-Gvir, the extremist ally of Netanyahu, and stop the war in Gaza.

The root cause of Middle East conflict is the occupation of Palestine.

On July 19, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) said Israel should stop settlement activity in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem and end its “illegal” occupation of those areas and the Gaza Strip as soon as possible.

In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the court had made a “decision of lies”.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed more than 39,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

Will Americans stop trying to ‘Run the World’?

When President Joe Biden was attempting to disguise his encroaching dementia, he told journalist George Stephanopoulos: “You know, not only am I campaigning, but I’m running the world.” No wonder everything everywhere is such a mess. War is raging in Europe and the Middle East. Multiple conflicts threaten Asia. Heckuva job, Joe! – notes Doug Bandow, a former Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan, at ‘The American Conservative’.

Unfortunately, America’s so-called allies are determined to entangle the United States in one war after another. For instance, South Korean officials demand “reassurance” that Washington will use nuclear weapons to protect Seoul. Taiwanese resist military service, expecting Americans to save them. U.S naval forces battle Yemeni insurgents interdicting Asian and European maritime commerce.

The Baltic states repeatedly concoct military campaigns against Russia for America to mount, while France and other NATO members suggest introducing combat troops to Ukraine. Failed British politicians representing a country unable to defend itself urge U.S. officials to enable attacks on the Russian homeland, risking the sort of escalation only narrowly avoided during the Cold War. Kiev demands Washington make Ukraine’s conflict America’s own.

Actually, the best way to protect America’s citizens would be to stop trying to “run the world” and instead opt out of other nations’ battles. Unfortunately, America’s “friends” rarely act like friends.

Washington’s attempt to “run the world” reflects the grotesque surplus of ego, greed, illusion, vanity, and fantasy that overwhelms America’s imperial city. Even during the Cold War, when the U.S. could claim to lead the “free world” — which, of course, included many very unfree regimes — Washington was rarely in control. Remember Cuba and Vietnam, China and Egypt, India and Iran, Cambodia and Haiti. Remember tens of thousands of American lives lost, billions in Americans’ earnings wasted, and Uncle Sam’s reputation regularly ravaged.

Where is the U.S. in control today? Allied arrogance and recklessness in expanding NATO and ignoring Russian security interests led to Vladimir Putin’s criminal invasion of Ukraine. He bears responsibility for his action, but he reacted to American and European misbehavior, leaving allied officials, too, drenched in Ukrainian blood. Washington’s proxy war remains one mistake away from full-scale conflict, with Moscow unlikely to strike only so long as it believes it is winning. Yet Ukraine, along with European governments whose militaries would be rounding errors in any conflict, demand that Washington escalate American involvement.

The Middle East once seemed vital to U.S. policymakers. The region’s oil resources were important. Israel was vulnerable. The Soviet Union was threatening. No more. All those justifications have expired. Washington has no reason to intervene in Shia–Sunni hostilities. Israel is a nuclear power well able to defend itself. As the latter follows increasingly authoritarian and brutal policies against Palestinians, Washington should back away.

Asia, which contains the world’s most populous and prosperous nations other than America, matters far more globally than Europe or the Middle East. Yet Asia’s breadth makes it even more difficult for Washington to influence, let alone control.

The People’s Republic of China poses an even greater challenge. Just as Washington is supreme in the Americas, the PRC wants to reign in Asia. The U.S. is determined to remain a Pacific power, but that doesn’t mean it can “run Asia.” After all, it is far more expensive to project power thousands of miles away than to deter intervention from such a distance. Moreover, the region will always matter more to China than America.

Of course, it is impossible for the U.S. to assume away the possibility of war. Military action might become absolutely necessary. But only as a last resort, debated by the American people, and fought on their behalf, not for allies or other interests.

Unfortunately, most of Washington’s security guarantees act as transmission belts rather than firebreaks to war. For example, NATO expansion has added a gaggle of military midgets — the Baltic and Balkan states, most recently North Macedonia and Montenegro, for instance — which multiply U.S. obligations while doing nothing to aid America. Even Sweden and Finland, though more capable militarily, do nothing to protect Americans who are obligated to fight for them against a nuclear-armed power over territory with little connection to American security.

The Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia are even less relevant to America’s defense. America’s 20-year Afghan misadventure turned rural lands into a charnel house and converted residents to the Taliban’s cause. Why do American forces remain scattered about Iraq and Syria, serving no recognizable American security interest?

Finally, what could be worse than war between the U.S. and the PRC? Never before have two major conventional powers possessing nuclear weapons fought one another. The consequences would be incalculable. It is hard to imagine a scenario in which China would attack America. Instead, the issue is maintaining Washington’s Asian dominance. That has value, to be sure, but is it worth the possible destruction of both nations, America’s allies, and the global economy?

Unfortunately, foreign policy so far has not been a major campaign issue. Although Biden pretended to be “running the world,” he fooled few Americans. Most pay little attention to the arrogant cant that overflows Washington unless their money — and lives — are being ostentatiously squandered. Nevertheless, Biden’s withdrawal and Vice President Kamala Harris’s likely nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate will reset the campaign. Harris could scarcely do worse than the president and can reject Biden’s reflexive interventionism, applied everywhere but Afghanistan. She appears to be less enthused with Washington’s tight embrace of Israel’s Netanyahu government, though she has shown little difference on other issues.

There is greater hope of change from Trump if elected, although during his first administration he often retreated from promises to disengage from needless conflicts.

What Americans most need from the next president is someone who does not hope to “run the world.” Doing so is impossible. Doing so competently and effectively would require a double miracle. The next president should serve and protect Americans, while nudging the world toward a better future. After decades of misguided and costly wars, Washington should choose peace and allow America to again become a normal country.

U.S. Government Selects New President For Venezuela

By Moon of Alabama

The clown show continues:

U.S. says Maduro lost Venezuelan election, calls for talks, transition – Washington Post

CARACAS, Venezuela — The United States on Thursday said opposition candidate Edmundo González defeated President Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela’s presidential election and called for negotiations to ensure a peaceful transition of power.

Maduro claims that he won Sunday’s vote. The opposition, meanwhile, says that the government’s own records, as well as independent exit polls, indicate that González won twice as many as votes.

“Given the overwhelming evidence, it is clear to the United States and, most importantly, to the Venezuelan people that Edmundo González Urrutia won the most votes in Venezuela’s July 28 presidential election,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement Thursday evening.

Did anyone inform “President” Juan Guaido?

Craig Murray: The Israeli Nihilist State

By Craig Murray*
CraigMurray.org.uk

The apartheid state appears to have no objective other than violence and an urge for desolation.

It is no longer possible to categorise the nihilistic violence of the Israeli state. It appears to have no objective other than violence and an urge for desolation.

In 24 hours Israel has murdered the man with whom it would need to negotiate hostage release in the short term and political settlement in the long term, and a key figure in its most dangerous potential military enemy which has refrained from full-on war.

In doing so it has violated the territory, indeed the capitals, of two crucial regional states.

[See: Netanyahu Risks Regional War With Assassination]

Israel has also taken a policy decision that the mass rape of detainees by soldiers — and, somewhat strangely, homosexual rape in particular — is acceptable in war and not to be punished.

Ironically Israel has also underlined its genocidal intent in Gaza by proving that it has the technical ability to carry out targeted attacks, and that the flattening of entire cities with 2,000lb bombs and the massacre of tens of thousands of innocents has been a policy choice.

The Western media appears paralysed by this. I have seen virtually no serious comment or analysis. Nor has anybody pointed out the contrast between Israel’s lies about mass rape on Oct. 7 and Israel’s now-admitted policy of tolerating rape of detainees.

The political class seems even more paralysed than the media class. Caught in their commitment to Zionism — basically bought and paid for – they have nothing to say about these incredible events more sensible than Kamala Harris’ zombie-like incantation of “Israel’s right to self-defence.”

The British Foreign Office has failed to produce its promised considered reaction to the ICJ Opinion on the illegality of Israeli occupation, let alone responded sensibly to Israel’s crazed paroxysm of destruction this week.

[See: ICJ: Israel’s Occupation of Palestinian Territory Is Illegal]

For me it is now axiomatic that there is no two state solution and that apartheid Israel must be completely dismantled as an entity. I believe that more and more people around the entire globe believe that now.

And if we have to dismantle our own political and media classes to get there, so be it.

Col. Douglas MacGregor on the neo-Marxist warmongers in the Biden White House

He’s obviously very concerned about what these lunatics will do and makes clear that China, Iran and Russia are not the soft military targets they think.

America’s election meddling will finally be its own sword to fall on

Martin Jay

For the United States, the prize in Ukraine has always been the opportunity to fight Russia without committing one dead western soldier. This may change.

“Interventionism” could simply be called “western-backed coup”. Since the end of the WWII, the U.S., it is reported, has meddled with the elections of 81 countries and so it should come as little surprise that it tried its best to topple Nicolás Maduro, as it had previously in 2019 under Trump. U.S. election meddling though has changed considerably since the end of the Cold War. Previous to 1989, when the Berlin Wall fell, the U.S. was quite brazen about toppling left-wing dictators it hated or supporting right-wing candidates with their campaigns. Most notably its dirty tricks were seen as early as 1948 when it did all it could in Italy to oust a communist government. Later on, in the 80s, while the Cold War was still running and Soviet troops were in Afghanistan, the U.S. gave the contras in Nicaragua 18m USD in profits from the illegal arms sales to Iran, which ultimately led to Daniel Ortega being overthrown in a 1990 election. In the same year, Vaclav Havel was backed to the hilt in Czechoslovakia to be enthroned as a western leader in the first democratic elections to be held there.

The U.S. also backs campaigns to reinstate their puppets, when they lose one in a fair, democratic election. In 1986, for example, in Haiti, the U.S. lost Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” who was the incumbent president and a great ally of the West. Later on, his successor was finally overthrown when another friend was installed after years of a nefarious campaign. Sometimes they threw money at their own favoured incumbents who would be useful idiots to them. In 1996, the Clinton government lent 10m USD to Boris Yeltsin for his own campaign, a staggering amount of money at that time. Other times, they would pump money into campaigns run by opposition groups to oust the incumbent who was considered an enemy of the U.S., disregarding any pretentions of democratic collective conscience. In 2000, five years after the Serbs had been bombed into submission in the Yugoslav War by an illegal air strike campaign – which came about when Bosnian Muslims staged a false flag attack on their own people in a Sarajevo marketplace – the U.S. went all out to fund campaigns for all opposition groups in Serbia which finally led to those groups using the same dictator type tactics when the polls were counted by giving Milosevic to leave quietly with his life, or face the same consequences as Romania’s Ceausescu. The Serbian leader later was to mysteriously die in 2006 while held in prison at a specially convened war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the Netherlands.

Arguably, the best example of U.S. election meddling, especially for one which has so spectacularly backfired on the U.S., has got to be Ukraine. Both in 2004 and 2014, the U.S. created a revolutionary movement and pumped an estimated 4bn USD into it, just to unseat the Russian-leaning incumbent Viktor Yanukovych. With Ukraine, there were not energy reserves to act as a catalyst but a bigger prize for those red in tooth and claw determined to have their glory fighting Russia: the opportunity for the West to fight Russia without committing one dead western soldier. It proved irresistible and to this day, the West’s economies continue to plunder as this foolish decision takes a grip on those economies pulling them down, while Russia’s gains.

While we don’t know all of the facts which drew the U.S. to the Ukraine, its fatal attraction may well be part of Joe Biden’s corruption escapades there, clearly the Ukraine stands out as the West’s greatest defeat with election engineering which started off as a “colour revolution” but ended up as full-on support of military intervention, shrouded by dirty aid and military deals. The U.S. usually can’t see election interference for what it is as its people have gleaned a certain self-righteous coping mechanism to messing up other people’s lives just for the charred profits from other people’s losses, often deaths. As a general rule, if we overlook Ukraine, in recent years these “colour revolutions” are, compared to the gruesome coup d’états in Central and South America during the cold war years, benign. But it’s where the thinking leads.

Meta, Apple, Amazon «tricksen»: Tech-Giganten verstoßen laut Studie gegen EU-Recht

DEI recruiting nightmare: ‘We spent $1 million to get 1 kid in the Army’, by J.M. Phelps

A surprising number of potential military recruits don’t want to risk their lives for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. From J.M. Phelps at theburningplatform.com:

‘If you’re a white male, you’re not really a welcome person in the Army right now’

Nearly two million dollars spent by one of the nation’s Army recruiting brigades could not overcome the alienation of potential service members caused by the military’s embrace of radical “diversity, equity and inclusion” policies under the Biden-Harris administration.

After more than two decades of service, Col. Nicholas Braun (a pseudonym) recently retired from the U.S. Army. He spoke to WorldNetDaily on the condition of anonymity, concerned over likely reprisals he would face from the U.S. government for the information he shared with WND.

In 2023, said Braun, as recruiting numbers continued to dwindle through the Biden administration, every corps in the Army was tasked to support Recruiting Command. For example, operations and maintenance funds were diverted to recruiting, he told WND, revealing that over $1 million was so redirected in just the first quarter of last year.

“Do you know how many contracts we got signed?” he asked. “One. After four months, we spent a million dollars to get one kid in the Army.”

In the following quarter, Braun said, six individuals signed contracts after $800,000 of the operations and maintenance budget was redirected toward recruiting. “We used nearly $1.8 million to get seven people in the Army,” he told WND.

Yet, throwing money at recruiting did not solve the problem. Plans to “shrink excess” and reduce its number of personnel from 494,000 to 470,000 by 2029 followed. “In the Pentagon’s infinite wisdom to fix the recruiting problem,” Braun said, in February 2024, “they began another round of restructuring to make the on-hand quantity [of Army personnel] the authorized quantity to be able to say t

Wahlurne, kein einziger Stimmzettel?
