El número de muertos que dejó el ataque lanzado la noche del viernes por Ucrania contra una zona residencial de la ciudad de Tokmak, en la provincia rusa de Zaporozhie, ha aumentado a 16, informó el domingo el gobernador local, Yevgueni Bálitski.

La portavoz del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de Rusia, María Zajárova, comentó las declaraciones de la embajadora de Israel en el país, Simona Halperin, acerca de que Tel Aviv espera que Moscú condene el ataque masivo con misiles de Irán.

La noche del sábado, Irán lanzó un ataque contra Israel con más de 300 drones y misiles de diversos tipos, dañando la base aérea de Nevatim, situada en el distrito Sur del país.
Ante la escalada entre Tel Aviv y Teherán, Halperin afirmó a RIA Novosti que “espera que sus homólogos rusos condenen el ataque iraní sin precedentes contra territorio israelí y contrarresten los intentos iraníes de desestabilizar la región”.

Iran’s drone attack has opened up a can of worms which Biden would have preferred wouldn’t have been opened
It is ironic to western analysts how invariably it is the East which keeps a cool head and doesn’t rise to the bait of escalation while it is the West which is reckless, foolhardy and careless with its provocations. In Ukraine we have seen nothing but this accompanied by miscalculation and poor decisions on the part of NATO. And now we are seeing this in Israel as remarkably, Joe Biden, has managed to be ensnared now in a regional war between Israel and Iran – a dream for the latter for well over 30 years.
Iran’s reaction to the bombing of its consulate in Damascus was very measured, well thought-out and pulled off with a certain sobriety which will not be matched by Israel and the U.S. Tehran did not want to kill civilians but simply send a message that Israel crossed a line and if it does this again, then there will be more attacks from Iran, perhaps intercontinental missiles with deeper impact than cheap drones. That is not to say that the drones were not effective. They were at the specific task which the Iranians wanted of them, knowing full well that most of them would be intercepted.
But the move by Tehran was still a shock to many western experts and no doubt the Netanyahu cabal as well, as it busted a number of myths in one evening. Firstly, that Iran would have the courage to bomb directly Israel, as many pundits dismissed this without a thought. The fact that Iran is prepared to use its missiles to potentially kill civilians on Israeli soil changes the dynamic now as Israel can no longer double guess what the payback will be if it continues its feral bombing of Iranian soldiers, even on Syrian soil.
Secondly, it also busts the myth that Israel has the capability to tackle war on more than one front. All during the night while its military was busy, Gazans were enjoying a peaceful night of no shelling at all and took to social media to celebrate the detente. Israel’s military does not have the capacity or strength to fight a war in Gaza as well as one from a second front, such as a massive drone attack, let alone a third one from Hezbollah in Lebanon, if need be.
And thirdly, the role of partners. Israel couldn’t have got through the night and got what it claims to be a 99 percent hit rate without the help of partners like British RAF fighter jets who helped, not to mention King Abdullah of Jordan whose air force also shot down the drones. If these relations, along with the U.S., are tested and pushed beyond their limits, Israel’s vulnerability becomes contentious to say the least.
And so how Netanyahu plays his cards in the coming days is crucial for Israel to stay on good terms with its western allies but also to realistically stay in the game. Iran’s drone attack has opened up a can of worms now which Biden would have preferred wouldn’t have been opened. According to some reports, it is believed that Biden told Netanyahu now to back down and leave the Iranians, fearing the situation spiralling out of control. Could Biden seriously go to the polls in December of this year with a foreign policy cheat sheet which listed pulling out of Afghanistan, starting a war in the Ukraine which will humiliate him and NATO when Russia inevitably wins and now start a world war with Iran? Seasoned analysts have ventured that he will not be able to hold himself back from upping the stakes and going for a revenge attack on Iran or its proxies. This of course would test the relationship with the U.S. and push it to its very limit – a stunt which Biden is hoping very much will not be carried out by Netanyahu. Given that this will almost certainly bring the relationship between Biden and Netanyahu to breaking point and will give Iran the victory either way, it’s hard to see how most western pundits failed to see the drone strike as a great victory for Tehran. Netanyahu’s gambit will be that Biden is weak and now lost in the maze of Middle Eastern warmongering. He will also think that Biden will need to present himself to the hawks in Washington as a victor and so is now in deeper more than ever before, as options run out and the window for rational thinking seems to now no longer be. Biden’s nightmare with Netanyahu is just starting.
The “tired American hegemon” will not be able to intimidate the East Asian peoples
The completed official visit of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to Washington at the invitation of the American government and US President Joseph Biden personally had the main goal of creating an expanded military coalition to “contain” the People’s Republic of China, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation, which allegedly provoke war in East Asia. However, this time it was no longer a question of “containment”, but of encircling and blocking primarily the PRC.
At the same time, busy describing the tinsel that accompanied the visit, such as a detailed story about what souvenirs the leaders of the two countries gave each other, who was wearing what, or the traditional reservations when Kishida suddenly, after reporting, called Japan’s closest ally… China, the media of the two countries as would casually cover important events that took place during the days of the visit in countries that the Americans and Japanese intended to “block” militarily.
Presenting the situation in East Asia almost as “pre-war” and falsely accusing the PRC leadership of preparing an armed invasion of the “rebellious island,” Biden and Kishida in their speeches pathetically promised not to leave “peace-loving, democratic Taiwan” unprotected from Chinese aggression. At the same time, it deliberately obscures Beijing’s explanations that matters can only come to the use of armed forces in the event of a provocative declaration of Taiwan’s “independence” supported by Washington and Tokyo.
That this is precisely what is convincingly demonstrated by the meeting between the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CCP), President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, and the former head of Taiwan, Chairman of the Kuomintang Party Ma Ying-jeou, which took place on the eve of the Japanese-American summit in Beijing in a very friendly atmosphere. Let us recall that in the last parliamentary elections this party showed results that made it possible, together with the opposition Taiwan People’s Party, to block the legislative initiatives of the current pro-American and pro-Japanese president of the self-proclaimed republic.
During the meeting, Ma Ying-jeou said that the Chinese people should not allow war to break out in the Taiwan Strait. He said he believes leaders on both sides have the wisdom to ensure a peaceful and stable environment in the region for economic development.
For his part, Xi Jinping said that there is nothing that people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait cannot discuss and that there is no force that can divide them. “People on both sides of the Taiwan Strait strive for peace in their homes and harmonious coexistence with their families,” the Chinese leader noted. “To do this, we must promote the peaceful development of relations between the two countries… As long as the country is not divided and as long as we recognize that there are Chinese people and the same family on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, we can sit down and talk to each other,” he said He. Xi added that cross-strait communication should be based on the principle of the «1992 Consensus.»
The «1992 Consensus» was reached at a meeting between representatives of the CPC-led People’s Republic of China on mainland China and the then Kuomintang-led «Republic of China». According to the CCP, the “1992 Consensus” means that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to “one China,” which is represented exclusively by the PRC. The Kuomintang understands the consensus as “one China, different interpretations,” that is, Taipei’s position is that there are two political entities — the People’s Republic of China on the mainland and the “Republic of China” on Taiwan.
In connection with the stated position of the PRC and its leader personally, provocative statements by Biden and Kishida hang in the air, purposefully stirring up fears about the “danger of a crisis in the Taiwan Strait.” Let us recall that the inclusion of Taiwan in fact among the allies of the United States and Japan, the provision of political and military support to the island’s authorities grossly contradicts the obligations of the governments of these countries to adhere to the principle of recognizing “one China,” that is, the People’s Republic of China.
Beijing did not ignore Kishida’s provocative statements during the Japanese-American summit. Director of the Asian Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong made a serious presentation to the Japanese side at a meeting with a representative of the Japanese Embassy in China. On the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Liu Jinsong “expressed serious concern and categorical dissatisfaction with the negative dynamics” demonstrated by the Japanese side towards China during recent negotiations between the leaders of the United States and Japan in Washington, as well as during the trilateral summit. US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., following talks in Washington, issued a joint statement expressing concern about the allegedly dangerous actions of the Chinese coast guard and naval forces in the South China Sea. In addition, they opposed China’s alleged attempts to “unilaterally change the status quo” in the East China Sea. This refers to China’s claims to the now Japanese-controlled Diaoyu Islands, Senkaku in Japanese, which Beijing claims historically belong to China.
The results of the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Korea (South Korea) on April 10, in which the opposition Toburo Democratic Party won a landslide victory, receiving a confident single majority, were hardly pleasant news for Biden and Kishida. The election results are regarded by observers and analysts as an unconditional defeat and a kind of vote of no confidence of the people both in the People Power Party and its head and current President Yoon Seok Yeol and his government.
Washington and Tokyo cannot help but express concern about the future of the “military bloc” Biden recently formed of the United States, Japan and South Korea for confrontation with China, North Korea and Russia. For in South Korea there are considerable forces of opponents of unification with the “sworn enemy of the Korean people” — Japan. Not to mention the fact that the political positions of pro-American and pro-Japanese President Yun Seok-yeol have been undermined and he is unlikely to be allowed to continue pursuing a policy that could involve the South Korean people in a war with neighboring states on the side of Washington and Tokyo.
The corresponding conclusions from the Japanese government’s deliberate deterioration of relations with the Russian Federation and the even closer unification of the American and Japanese armed forces for direct confrontation with neighboring states were made in Moscow.
From the official statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry: “On April 12, a meeting was held at the Russian Foreign Ministry with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation A.Yu. Rudenko with the Ambassador of Japan in Moscow A. Muto, during which the ambassador was given a presentation on some practical issues of bilateral relations, which, through the efforts of Tokyo, have degraded to an unprecedented low level.
A.Yu. Rudenko drew A. Muto’s attention to dangerous trends in the development of Japanese-American military cooperation, which pose a threat to the stability and security of Northeast Asia. They will be taken into account by the Russian side when forming policy towards Japan and the region as a whole.”
Moscow also reacted to Tokyo’s unacceptable accusations against our country of allegedly “Russian rhetoric threatening the use of nuclear weapons.” Russia’s first deputy permanent representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, commented quite sharply on Fumio Kishida’s statements about the nuclear threat. “Shame and disgrace” — this is how the Russian diplomat described the Japanese prime minister’s speech in the US Congress, in which he expressed “concerns” about “the risks of another catastrophe” associated with the use of nuclear weapons. At the same time, earlier the Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan to the UN, Mitsuko Shino, at a Security Council meeting on Ukraine spoke about the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but chose, as always, not to mention that these barbaric atrocities were deliberately and cold-bloodedly committed by the US authorities.
As TASS notes, Japanese representatives at the UN often recall the disaster, but prefer not to say anything about US responsibility. A similar situation arose in the UN Security Council in mid-March. Then Polyansky pointed out that Tokyo is spreading disinformation about some threatening nuclear rhetoric from Moscow, but does not find the courage to directly declare Washington’s responsibility for the deaths of civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, also gave a rebuke to the Japanese falsifiers, saying: “Suppressing the criminal US nuclear attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and falsely linking this topic with Russia is a classic example of “fake news” and disinformation. The Japanese government is duping its population and showing disrespect for the memory of the victims of American attacks.»
There is no doubt that not in words, but in deeds, the PRC, the DPRK and Russia, who defend the peace and security of the peoples of North-East Asia, will find ways through joint efforts, so to speak, to stop the attempts of their enemies to “encircle and block” countries that are disliked by Washington and its obedient minions and peoples. And no amount of the Philippines and Australia driven into military blocs will help Uncle Sam here. And the Japanese, sooner or later, must realize that the United States is preparing them for slaughter and considers the descendants of previously proud samurai not even as slaves, but as “gray cattle” — “katika”. I heard this expression from the Japanese themselves…

Huge news out of Germany as the federal government have been forced to admit that so-called “conspiracy theorists” were right about everything during the Covid pandemic.

The secret government documents – all 2,000 pages of them – reveal that we were right about nearly everything and the so-called “pandemic” was all fraud.
These facts are damning and prove the official narrative about Covid, pushed by world governments and mainstream media, is completely bogus.

While a new study out of the US has found that those who have been vaccinated and boosted can expect to meet their maker far sooner than they would have expected.
A disturbing new study has revealed that people who have been “fully vaccinated” with Covid mRNA injections can expect to lose a staggering 25 years from their life expectancy.
Researchers analyzed data from the CDC, Cleveland Clinic Data, and insurance company risk assessment data and uncovered a disturbing trend of plummeting life expediencies among those who had multiple doses of mRNA.
Unfortunately for the vaxxed, the news gets even worse. The chronic damage to health caused by each dose of mRNA does not lessen over time, as previously believed.
In reality, the negative health effects appear to continue indefinitely.
According to the researchers, CDC All-Cause Mortality data reveals that each jab increased mortality by 7% in the year 2022 compared to the mortality in 2021.
This means that people who have had 5 doses – that’s two doses and three boosters – were 35% more likely to die in 2022 than they were in 2021.
Correlating with the German information, the study also confirmed that people who are not vaccinated were no more likely to die in 2022 than in 2021.
These numbers are damning. But anybody paying attention can see that something is very wrong with the vaccinated. They are dropping like flies with heart problems and turbo cancer all over the world.

Egyptian star Ahmed Refeat became the third professional soccer play to suffer cardiac arrest in front of live TV cameras, with doctors later admitting they “hadn’t seen something like this before.”
Orlando Pirates midfielder Makhelene Makhaula was the second football star to collapse on the field this week, as medical staff were seen desperately attempting to revive the South African star.

On Sunday in the Argentinian top flight, Estudiantes’ Javier Altamirano suffered a seizure and collapsed suddenly in the big match against Boca Juniors, one of the biggest clubs in South America.
It’s not just professional athletes dropping like flies. People from all walks of life, including popular social media influencers, are being struck down with heart conditions and rare forms of cancer at unprecedented rates.
An ethical media would be highlighting these incidents on the front pages, putting their resources into investigating why so many young and healthy people are suffering from cardiac arrests, strokes, and rare forms of cancer.
Instead, the media is attempting to normalize the phenomenon and convince you that professional athletes and young people having heart attacks is par for the course.
However, anybody capable of independent thought understands this situation is far from normal.

The 2021 WEF cyber polygon simulation scenario had an obvious “contradictory” geopolitical slant:
The event was chaired by Russia’s Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, numerous Russian financial institutions, media and communications entities had been invited by the WEF.
Forty-eight countries participated in the Event, there were 41 partners of which 10 were from Russia and Kazakhstan: these included News Agency TASS, NTV, Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank and a leading global financial institution, the Mail.ru Group, Russia’s largest internet provider, MTS, Russia’s leading telecommunications group, the State Legal Department of the Omsk Region, Siberia. Powerful banking financial institutions from Kazakstan. Among others.

Amply documented, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has been instrumental in endorsing US-NATO’s military agenda in regards to Ukraine.
Was this July 2021 Cyber Polygon event (which occurred less than 8 months prior to the outset of the Ukraine War) intent upon creating political divisions within the Russian Federation by establishing partnerships with a number of powerful Russian media, communications, banking and financial institutions, etc.
Not a single representative from the People’s Republic of China. Was the Cyber Polygon Simulation (July 2021) intended to foster confrontation between China and Russia? Are Cyber attacks contemplated as part of a Global Military agenda?
The Process of “All-Digitization”
In November 2023, as documented in an article by Peter Koenig, the Financial Elites passed from the “simulation of scenarios” too outright “implementation”. They entrusted the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) “as the flag-carrier … for the deadly onslaught of All-Digitization.”
Koenig focusses on the “Take Down of a Society That is Digital.” whichcould be conducted in the form of a Worldwide Cyber Attack (as outlined by Klaus Schwab in his 2021 statement):

Introduction
The World Economic Forum (WEF) which represents the Western financial elites, played a key role in the launching of the March 11, 2020 lockdown, which was conducive to a Worldwide process of economic and social chaos.
The WEF is now pointing to: “A cyber-attack with COVID-like characteristics”, which promises to be far more devastating and chaotic than the Covid-19 pandemic.
The World Economic Forum’s “Concept 2021”. Cyber Polygon Scenario
The World Economic Forum (WEF) which co-sponsored Event 201, the table top simulation of the corona pandemic together with John Hopkins and the Gates Foundation in October 2019, has been involved in another strategic exercise entitled Concept 2021. The latter is described as an:
“international capacity building initiative aimed at raising the global cyber resilience”.
It is not a table top simulation comparable to Event 201.
Last year it was conducted at the height of the lockdown via video conferencing. This year, the 2021 Conference “discussed the “key risks of digitalization”.
Those participating in the Cyber Polygon Exercise (2020)included high tech companies including IBM, numerous banks and financial institutions, internet companies, cyber security agencies, corporate and government media, think tanks, law enforcement agencies including Interpol with representatives from 48 countries.
The exercise was an obvious means to secure reliable partners and develop strategic alliances. In this regard, there were numerous representatives from Russia and countries of the former Soviet Union, including major Russian banking interests, communications and media companies. All in all 42 partners. No corporate /governmental partners from China, participated in the simulation.

Simulation of A Cyber-Attack. Towards A Complete Halt to Power Supply, Communications, Transportation
Klaus Schwab, founder and Executive Director of the WEF and architect of the “Great Reset” describes the crisis scenario as follows:
“The frightening scenario of a comprehensive cyber attack could bring a complete halt to the power supply, transportation, hospital services, our society as a whole. The COVID-19 crisis would be seen in this respect as a small disturbance in comparison to a major cyberattack.” (emphasis added)

The implications of these bold “predictions” which represent the interests of the financial establishment are far-reaching.
What they describe is a scenario of economic and social chaos involving the disruption of communications systems, the internet, financial and money transactions (including SWIFT), the power grid, global transportation, commodity trade, etc., as well as likely “geopolitical dislocations”.
The opening session (July 2021) of Cyber Polygon 2021 was conducted (video below) by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin together with the Director General of the WEF Klaus Schwab.

Is this Scenario a “Dress Rehearsal” for a Forthcoming Cyber Crisis?
The geopolitics of this exercise are complex. While Russia is routinely threatened by US-NATO, the Russian Federation [was] is a partner of this WEF initiative, which is largely dominated by Wall Street and the Western financial establishment.
Why was China –which is an ally of Russia– excluded from the Cyber Polygon Exercise?
The Cyber Attack is categorized as a Terrorist Act. Ask yourself the question: Who has the capabilities of carrying out such an attack?
Russia’s financial and banking establishment were actively involved in the Cyber Scenario. Was the exercise intended to create divisions between China and Russia?
While one cannot speculate, the matter must nonetheless be addressed.
And who will be blamed if the Cyber Scenario goes live?
Engineered economic and social chaos. Is that not part of a US hegemonic project?

The Clintons were accused of ‘facilitating genocide’ by the demonstrators who hurled abuse at the couple as they exited a Biden fundraiser on Wednesday.
Hillary was leaving the Music Box Theater where she and her husband were watching a preview of the show ‘Suffs’ for which she is a producer.
‘Hillary, has anyone ever told you that you are the super predator?’ One protester screamed as the former secretary of state approached her car.
‘Bill Clinton, you’re a genocide supporter. F*** you, you piece of s**t,’ the demonstrator added as the ex-president followed her out.
But Hillary appeared unfazed raising a hand to wave and flashing a smile at the others who had gathered to see her even as the critique kept coming.
‘You are responsible for genocides, you are responsible for atrocities. You’re literally helping facilitate the genocide of Palestinian people,’ the protester continued.
She continued bellowing even as Hillary got into the vehicle and shut the door.
‘F***ing piece of s**t Hillary! Over 34,000 people are dead Hillary. Call yourself a feminist? Women are dying in Gaza.’
As the car pulled away, the protester was seen giving the finger before chasing the vehicle down the road to continue shouting.
‘Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, we can see you hiding in the back of your car,’ the demonstrator yelled. ‘Stop holding fundraisers for genocide you f***ing coward. How many people have died at your hands?’

The United States government, speaking through the mouth of Secretary of State Blinken, defied all of Russia’s warnings this week with this declaration:
“Ukraine will become a member of NATO. Our purpose at the summit is to help build a bridge to that membership.”
By Putin’s refusal to use the necessary force to deal with the dangerous situation and by continuing to insist that the conflict is nothing but a limited operation to clear Ukrainian forces out of the Russian provinces, not an invasion of Ukraine, Russia will soon find herself at war with NATO. I have warned consistently without effect, only to be denounced by idiots as “bloodthirsty,” that Putin’s unrealism about the conflict, like his previous unrealism about the Minsk Agreement and his unrealism about the overthrow of the Ukrainian government in the so-called Maidan Revolution, is a direct path to World War III.
The minute Ukraine becomes a member of NATO, Putin will find himself at war with NATO.
Russia has only a short time to knock out Ukraine, destroy the government, occupy the country and build a wall around it.
The ascension of Ukraine to NATO “is literally how the nuclear apocalypse movie starts,” says Elon Musk, one of the few remaining intelligent Americans.
Putin’s “limited military operation” has achieved nothing but two new NATO members–Finland and Sweden–attacks on Russian civilians inside Russia, mounting deaths from Western weapon system after weapon system supplied to Ukraine along with NATO military personnel to operate them and Western intelligence to target them.
All the while Putin has been unable to comprehend that Russia is at war.
Putin’s lack of response to mounting provocations has convinced Washington that Putin’s warnings are meaningless.
Putin’s failure to enforce his red lines has caused Washington to loose belief that Putin has any red lines.
Just as Putin was forced into his “limited military operation” by the insulting cold shoulder Washington gave his plea for a mutual security pact, Russia will be forced into wider war with NATO by Washington’s defiance of Putin’s warning that Russia will not allow NATO membership for Ukraine.
Putin has a few months to end Ukraine’s existence, a country that never existed until Washington created it, before Putin’s inability to act brings on World War III.
Despite the dire situation, Putin remains unable to come to terms with reality. The Russian government continues to demonstrate to Washington weakness and irresolution by repeating its willingness to negotiate. Here we see Putin’s failure as a war leader. It should be Washington and NATO pleading with Putin to negotiate.
We are traveling along the road to Armageddon exactly as I predicted. One ignored provocation leads to another and worst provocation, and then to another and another, and now we have reached the red line that Putin cannot ignore. At this point the only way Putin can avoid World War III is to surrender or to terminate the existence of Ukraine before Washington elevates Ukraine to NATO membership. There is no other choice.

Israel has launched an invasion (October 7, 2023) of the Gaza Strip.
As outlined by Felicity Arbuthnot with foresight 10 years ago in a December, 30 2013 article:
“Israel is set to become a major exporter of gas and some oil, “If All Goes to Plan”.
In the current context, Israel’s “All Goes to Plan” option consists in bypassing Palestine and “Wiping Gaza off the Map”, as well confiscating ALL Gaza’s maritime offshore gas reserves, worth billions of dollars.
The ultimate objective is not only to exclude Palestinians from their homeland, it consists in confiscating the multi-billion dollar Gaza offshore Natural Gas reserves, namely those pertaining to the BG (BG Group) in 1999, as well the Levant discoveries of 2013.
Update. Israel’s Secret Intelligence Memorandum
An official “secret” memorandum authored by Israel’s Ministry of Intelligence “is recommending the forcible and permanent transfer of the Gaza Strip’s 2.2 million Palestinian residents to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula”, namely to a refugee camp in Egyptian territory. There are indications of Israel-Egypt negotiations as well as consultations with the U.S.
The 10-page document, dated Oct. 13, 2023, bears the logo of the Intelligence Ministry … assesses three options regarding the future of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip … It recommends a full population transfer as its preferred course of action. … The document, whose authenticity was confirmed by the ministry, has been translated into English in full here on +972. “The Giant Leviathan natural gas field, in the eastern Mediterranean, discovered in December 2010, widely described [by governments and media] as “off the coast of Israel.”
These Levant reserves must be distinguished from those discovered in Gaza in 1999 by British Gas, which belong to Palestine. Felicity Arbuthnot’s analysis nonetheless confirms that “Part of the Leviathan Gas fields lie in Gazan territorial waters” (See Map Below).

Flash Forward to October 2023
Netanyahu’s October 2023 declaration of war against 2.3 million people of the Gaza Strip is a continuation of its 2008-2009 invasion of Gaza under “Operation Cast Lead.”
The underlying objective is the outright military occupation of Gaza by Israel’s IDF forces and the expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland.
I should however mention that there are powerful financial interests which stand to benefit from Israel’s criminal undertaking (Genocide) directed against Gaza.

The ultimate objective is not only to exclude Palestinians from their homeland, it consists in confiscating the multi-billion dollar Gaza offshore Natural Gas reserves, namely those pertaining to the BG (BG Group) in 1999, as well the Levant discoveries of 2013.
Egypt-Israel “Secret Bilateral Talks”
In 2021-22, Egypt and Israel were involved in “secret bilateral talks” regarding “the extraction of natural gas off the coast of the Gaza Strip.
“Egypt succeeded in persuading Israel to start extracting natural gas off the coast of the Gaza Strip, after several months of secret bilateral talks.
This development … comes after years of Israeli objections to extract natural gas off the coast of Gaza on [alleged] security grounds, …
British Gas (BG Group) has also been dealing with the Tel Aviv government.
What is significant is that the civilian arm of the Hamas Gaza government has been bypassed in regards to exploration and development rights over the gas fields:
The field, which lies about 30 kilometers (19 miles) west of the Gaza coast, was discovered in 2000 by British Gas (currently BG Group) and is estimated to contain more than 1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
The official in the Egyptian intelligence service told Al-Monitor on condition of anonymity, “An Egyptian economic and security delegation discussed with the Israeli side for several months the issue of allowing the extraction of natural gas off the coast of Gaza. …Al-Monitor, October 22, 2022
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Egypt and Israel, which had the rubber-stamp of the Palestinian National Authority (PA):
“The Egyptian official explained that Israel required the start of practical measures to extract gas from the Gaza fields at the beginning of 2024, to ensure its own security. (Al-Monitor, October 22, 2022
Netanyahu’s Timeline: “Before The Beginning of 2024”
The timeline resulting from these bilateral Israel-Egypt “secret talks” i.e. confiscation of Palestine’s offshore Maritime Gas Reserves is “The Beginning of 2024”.
Geologists and natural resources economists have confirmed that the Occupied Palestinian Territory lies above sizeable reservoirs of oil and natural gas wealth, in Area C of the occupied West Bank and the Mediterranean coast off the Gaza Strip.
However, occupation continues to prevent Palestinians from developing their energy fields so as to exploit and benefit from such assets. As such, the Palestinian people have been denied the benefits of using this natural resource to finance socioeconomic development and meet their need for energy.
The accumulated losses are estimated in the billions of dollars. The longer Israel prevents Palestinians from exploiting their own oil and natural gas reserves, the greater the opportunity costs and the greater the total costs of the occupation borne by Palestinians become.
This study identifies and assesses existing and potential Palestinian oil and natural gas reserves that could be exploited for the benefit of the Palestinian people, which Israel is either preventing them from exploiting or is exploiting without due regard for international law. “Anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas … This is part of our strategy – to isolate the Palestinians in Gaza from the Palestinians in the West Bank.”

Israel Gas-Oil and Trouble in the Levant

Israel is set to become a major exporter of gas and some oil, if all goes to plan. The giant Leviathan natural gas field, in the eastern Mediterranean, discovered in December 2010, is widely described as “off the coast of Israel.”
At the time the gas field was:
“ … the most prominent field ever found in the sub-explored area of the Levantine Basin, which covers about 83,000 square kilometres of the eastern Mediterranean region.” (i)
Coupled with Tamar field, in the same location, discovered in 2009, the prospects are for an energy bonanza for Israel, for Houston, Texas based Noble Energy and partners Delek Drilling, Avner Oil Exploration and Ratio Oil Exploration.
Also involved is Perth, Australia-based Woodside Petroleum, which has signed a memorandum of understanding for a thirty percent stake in the project, in negotiations which have been described as “up and down.”
There is currently speculation that Woodside might pull out of the deal: “ …since the original plans to refrigerate the gas for export were pursued when relations between Israel and Turkey were strained. That has changed, more recently, which has opened the door for gas to be piped to Turkey.”
The spoils of the Leviathan field has already expanded from an estimated 16.7 trillion cubic feet (tcf ) of gas to nineteen trillion – and counting:
”We’ve discovered nearly 40 tcf of gas, and we have roughly 19 tcf of that gas that’s available for export to both regional and extra-regional markets. We see exports reaching 2 billion cubic feet a day in capacity in the next decade. And we continue to explore.”, stated Noble Vice Chairman Keith Elliot (ii) There are also estimated to be possibly six hundred million barrels of oil, according to Michael Economides of energytribune.com (“Eastern Mediterranean Energy – the next Great Game.”)
However, even these estimates may prove modest. In their: “Assessment of Undiscovered Oil and Gas Resources of the Levant Basin Province, Eastern Mediterranean”, the US Department of the Interior’s US Geological Survey, wrote in 2010:
“We estimated a mean of 1.7 billion barrels of recoverable oil and a mean of 122 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas in this province using a geology based assessment methodology.”
Nevertheless, Woodside Petroleum, might also be hesitant to become involved in further disputes, since they are already embroiled, with the Australian government, in a protracted one in East Timor relating to the bonanaza of energy and minerals beneath the Timor Sea, which has even led to East Timor accusing Australia “of bugging East Timorese officials during the negotiations over the agreement.”(iii)
Woodside’s conflict in East Timor however, may well pale against what might well erupt over the Leviathan and Tamar fields. The area is not for nothing called the Levantine Basin.
Whilst Israel claims them as her very own treasure trove, only a fraction of the sea’s wealth lies in Israel’s bailiwick as maps (iv, v, see below) clearly show.
Much is still unexplored, but currently Palestine’s Gaza and the West Bank between them show the greatest discoveries, with anything found in Lebanon and Syria’s territorial waters sure to involve claims from both countries.
In a pre-emptive move, on Christmas Day, Syria announced a deal with Russia to explore 2,190 kilometres (850 Sq. miles) for oil and gas off its Mediterranean coast, to be: “… financed by Russia, and should oil and gas be discovered in commercial quantities, Moscow will recover the exploration costs.”
Syrian Oil Minister, Ali Abbas said during the signing ceremony that the contract covers “25 years, over several phases.”
Syria, increasingly crippled by international sanctions, has seen oil production plummet by ninety percent since the largely Western fermented unrest began in March 2011. Gas production has nearly halved, from thirty million cubic metres a day, to 16.7 cubic metres daily.
The agreement is reported to have resulted from “months of long negotiations” between the two countries. Russia, as one of the Syrian government’s main backers, looks set to also become a major player in the Levant Basin’s energy wealth. (vi)
Lebanon disputes Israel’s map of the Israeli-Lebanese maritime border, filing their own map and claims with the UN in 2010. Israel claims Lebanon is in the process of granting oil and gas exploration licenses in what Israel claims as its “exclusive economic zone.”
That the US in the guise of Vice President Joe Biden, as honest broker, acting peace negotiator in the maritime border dispute would be laughable, were it not potential for Israel to attack their neighbour again. In a visit to Israel in March 2010, Biden announced: “There is absolutely no space between the United States and Israel when it comes to Israel’s security- none at all”, also announcing on arrival in Israel:”It’s good to be home.”
Given US decades of “peace brokering” between Israel and Palestine, this is already a road of pitfalls, one sidedness and duplicity, well traveled. There is trouble ahead.
Oh, and in demonology, Leviathan is one of the seven princes of Hell.
